Journey Inn

The room was very clean, but it smelled of air freshener. The furniture is older and the sitting options were a very soft couch or a very hard, small metal chair. The bed was comfy, a bit on the soft side, but I slept well. Linens were very clean but not crisp. Internet. Noisy A/C. Microwave and mini fridge with freezer, but no pool, no breakfast. I very much appreciated the "no noise after 9pm" rule which was strongly enforced. Price was very good.

Nice hotel for overnight stay on roadtrip. Clean, comfortable and affordable. Nice to have mini-fridge with freezer compartment. Microwave worked well. No coffee brewer in room, however in lobby/office, there was free Keurig coffee. Soda machine out of order, ice bucket had a crack and leaked melting ice water onto floor, however the flooring looked to be like luxury vinyl plank. Room was clean, updated with granite bathroom countertop, and bed was comfortable. AC was noisy, but worked well to keep room cool. No toiletries except a bar of soap, and no hair dryer. All in all, a pleasant quick stay.

Would be nice if there were King non-smoking rooms available on the bottom floor. Sadly, you can also see where there used to be a pool, but it's been filled in and it just looks sad in that area. The room itself was clean, but very hot. Most hotels I've been to are nice enough to turn on the ac if they have a reservation for the room, especially if it was pre-paid.

Walls thin and recommend staying on 2nd floor due to noise from hardwood floors upstairs. TV had 4 or 5 basic channels. No pool, although photos showed otherwise. Would stay again, only if 2nd floor room available. Limited parking spaces.

The hotel was nice except the only coffee is in the office and only served from 8:30-11am also the manager insisted that the room be cleaned even with us in it. They need small coffee machines in the rooms

The room had pergo floors which are so much better than carpet. Tub and shower. Very clean. Fridge and microwave. We would have liked a coffee maker. Restaurants nearby. Parking might be limited when Motel is full. We had no trouble parking 2 vehicles during the week

Was fine for the one night pass through. Important detail I learned AT the front desk. Parking in their lot is NOT guaranteed. Came back from the late SMF run to zero parking spots and had to park at the restaurant across the street and hope they didn’t tow. All worked out. Was clean and sufficiently comfortable but A/C was feeble.

Good location convenient to everything. Property looked clean in photos but sofa in room, microwave, lamp bases, were not cleaned or vacuumed well enuf for me. TV, wifi were fine. Owner/manager was pleasant, friendly & responsive to requests.

This property was one of the most dirty properties we have ever stayed. The floor was filthy. The couch and chairs were riddled with stains. The bed was disgusting, and the bathroom was unclean. Everything had a film to it and reeked of cigarettes. We did not feel safe.

Shower was a little dirty but wearing shower shoes nullifies that issue. For the price it was worth it

Room had been upgraded with faux wood in place of carpet, which always makes things cleaner. Bathroom was not new, but passable. No shampoo provided. Sleeper sofa was old and looked like it had seen much better days. The worst things was going into the bathroom for a shower only to find it occupied by hundreds of crawling and flying insects. Proprietor was kind and apologetic and brought in bug spray, which was way too little so deal with the invasion. He ended up giving us a different room but by then we were so disgusted that it was difficult to sleep. Worst hotel experience we’ve ever had. We should have been given a refund, or at least a significant discount.

In serious need of deep cleaning. There was leftover food in one of the drawers. Lots of pillows, firmish mattress, semi updated decor. Next yo zero amenities. No shampoo or conditioner, the bars of soap were teeny tiny, no lotion, no coffee machine. Dirty microwave and exterior fridge.

Hairs in the shower. Otherwise it was a great stay

It was our first time staying at The Journey Inn. With prices as high as they are in California we are in need of affordability. We had family events in Davis but those accommodations are overpriced. The Journey Inn cam through for us. The rooms are spacious, newly renovated, with a large refrigerator and great A/C! There aren’t to many amenities, but it was a bargain. The area is quiet and is near the historic downtown. My only issue was with the shower. There was some mildew on the shower head and it looks like the renovators could have spent a bit more money on the shower head itself. Looked very old and used!

Great location and comfy beds but air conditioner was extremely loud.

The room was spacious with interesting architecture. The furniture is old but clean. Can be easy polished to look better. It’s good for the price. Very bad internet.

The AC was off when we arrived. Over 100 degrees in the room. AC worked fine but it took hours to cool down enough to sleep

Not much better than an old Motel 6, was very noisy at night with people above coming & going, doors slamming, etc. Was difficult to sleep, noisy A/C heater unit in room too.

Older property, but remodeled and spotless. About 2 miles from I 5, downtown Woodland. Large room, bed a bit firm for my personal taste, but I know everybody is different. Overall, a good night.

A REAL downside, some folks came by with a large noisy truck, repairing something at 2:30 am. Lord knows what they were doing, but the noise went on until after 3 am!

Shady and unprofessional I don't know what I did to earn this motel staff's distrust, but let's get the worst part out of the way: a violation of my privacy and sense of security. A man from the front desk who I think might be the motel owner barged into my room without knocking while I was changing to ask why I haven't yet checked out--even though my scheduled check out would not be until the day after. He told me to follow him to the front desk where he--without any apparent shame--admitted it was "a misunderstanding." He also had the nerve to blatantly lie to me that he called the room-phone mere minutes to check if I was there, but I heard nothing of the sort. Stupid. They knew my car is still on the property because they ask for car details. Shady man with ZERO customer service skill and no passion for his job. I understand that this is only considered a 2-star motel, but the embarrassing state of the room itself deserves some mention to travelers. The room--particularly the bathroom area--was DISGUSTING. I was greeted by maybe 3 flies. There was hair everywhere, even TANGLED into the towels. I don't know what incompetence it takes for housekeeping to not see these things. The floors are bare wood, and you can hear guests above you walking around very loudly. The refrigerators are noisy. You might think to unplug yours until you realize you can also hear the one next door regardless. The character limit won't allow me to detail lesser, but still annoying problems.

The guy at the front desk has no manners, was yelling at the guy Infront of me who was checking in. He was telling him to hurry up, and sign the pin pad and to stop wasting his time since he was very busy and had guest to attend. It was only me in line and I wasn’t waiting for more than 5 mins. Just a straight a**hole. The room beds were super uncomfortable, the springs on the bed were shot. The air conditioning was on its last legs and was super loud. The only good thing I can say is they do a good job sweeping the floors.

The staff were very friendly and welcoming.

Good location, lots of food options, gas statio0ns, as well as grocery shopping nearby. Easy to get to and parking lot is easily accessible. I booked last minute during a huge festival and was given a great rate. My reservation was honored and they let me check in a bit early. Great customer service at front desk.

The room was big and beds comfortable but the walls are paper thin. You can hear everything!!! The people above my room were fighting since 11pm. I mean cursing very loud!!!! My kids could hear every single word these people were saying. It was 1am and they still would not stop fighting which made my kids scared so i decided to call the front desk but it was closed. I called the emergency number and told the manager about how disrupting the people above us were and he just said ok and never came to do anything about it. Then around 3am the people start having sex so loud. I was horrified since i had 2 children in my room. I got no sleep and my kids kept waking up because of all the noise. And to make matters worse, check out is at 11am and the housekeeper comes banging on our door at 10am. I told her we're not ready to leave yet. Then as I'm loading my stuff to the car at 10:30 she is just waiting by the door with her cart staring at us the whole time. It made me so uncomfortable. Did she have nothing else to do? This is by far the worst hotel stay I've ever experienced. Do not stay here if you want to get sleep!

Very good customer service

The check in host had no customer service. He seemed judgmental right off the bat. He demanded things such as my ID for check in, which I know is needed, however there is a kinder way to ask for it. He could have politely asked for things such as my card and ID, instead of demanding them while giving off an attitude at the same time. He didn’t give proper check out instructions either. He didn’t try to guide us about where our room would be located. Once entering the room, everything looked clean. However, there was a couch that looked like it hasn’t been clean in a long time and not something you would willingly sit on. I would not recommend this hotel nor will I be coming back.

I did not realize there wasn't someone present at the property 24/7. Ibarrived quite late in the evening and after ringing the night bell several timas and attempting to call, I ended up paying to spend the first night in my car in the motel parking lot. I was finally able to raise someone very sleepy looking and in pajamas around 730 (office hours are listed as starting at 7). Everything was fine after that.

Booked two rooms (online said 8 available) at 4am. We had a baby with us and needed a last minute stay. Upon arrival the front desk man did not come to the door but tapped a little window to the side and when i informed him we had rooms booked he said there were no open rooms and walked away. Do not recommend

My son stayed here on a road trip up to see the 4014 train come through Roseville and visit the area. He found the property to be convenient, the rooms were clean, the staff was friendly. The price was great. It worked out wonderfully for him.

We needed a place to stay before an early morning flight and didn’t want to pay a ton of money. This facility was quiet, clean, and safe. We weren’t looking for lots of amenities- just something that was reasonably priced.

Decided to stay at this property based on cost and location in Woodland. Limited exposure to staff but we checked in quickly and efficiently. The room was very good, clean, modern and had everything (fridge & microwave) but no coffee machine which was not a problem. The property is a typical Motel with our car parked very close to the room's front door. It is situated a little outside the historic downtown area. We saw enough during the daylight hours to decide not to take a evening walk. Overall the hotel is very good and seemed very popular during our stay.

Good location, parking was good. Close to downtown. People upstairs were noisy, homeless people were around. Other than that, good stay.

Excellent choice for the price. Not far from the airport.

This is a budget propert in downtown Woodland, CA. It was older but well-kept & clean. It is on a busy street but was very quiet. The lady at the front desk was quick & efficient. She was friendly & appreciative to hat we picked the property for our one night stay After being up since 5:30am, we were tired & didn’t feel much like exploring so we didn’t see much of the surrounding area. It was a comfortable one night stay. I’d stay here again.

I was pleasantly surprised at the spacious room and the amenities offered inside the room. I think it is definitely a good place to stay thats very affordable. Its not too far from downtown Sacramento and the neighborhood has food options.

The room was wonderful, clean and neat. No restaurant near the hotel. Lots of drive thru and closed stores but no restaurant. We drove several miles and could not find one that was not boarded up.

Passed through Woodland on our way North. I would recommend this motel and would stay there again. The staff was helpful and the rooms were clean. TV and refrigerator were available and we used both. The surrounding area seemed safe with shopping and restaurants close by.

Not many amenities here makes it eco-friendly. The floor is new, room clean, and somewhat dark for sleep. There is free coffee or tea in the morning.
