The Lodge is well located in the centre of the Yosemite Valley and provide immediate access to the valley and walks in the area. If you need to use the Yosemite Shuttle, it stops at the hotel, but due to the low season we had no issues parking around the valley. The lodge itself is very basic and old, very dingy even with the lights on and had an odd smell. They are due for a renovation but I guess this keeps their prices low. Once you step outside it does have amazing views of the mountains and Bridalveil Falls. In the summer you could sit outside the room and enjoy the views. The facilities around the lodge are fine but could definitely be improved. There is the canteen which was not the most inviting place to be. Food mediocre and expensive. There is a bar which had the fire on and everyone there seemed happier. The restaurant was quiet but food better.

Property is beautiful and peaceful. Amenities are all so local that you don't have to leave the valley if you don't want to. Loved staying here and highly recommend.

Desk staff was VERY helpful!! Was close to yosemite falls trails, had 3 places for food, gift shop had alot of 'food/beverage' options for purchase.

I liked it was within walking distance of the restaurants, shuttle and store, very convenient. Everyone was very friendly, I will definitely come back! The rooms were a bit noisy, but after dark it was quiet.

Best place imo to stay inside the valley since Lower Falls are walkable, village is walkable, shuttle stops here, gift shops available, diner and bars, so much more. P.s. base camp diner had only 4 burgers options for dinner which was odd since it had a big menu for breakfast and lunch. But the food is great

This is a great location in Yosemite Valley with easy access to trails, attractions, and food service. The Canyon Cafe, Starbucks, and Mountain Bar were directly across the road from our lodge. The Canyon Cafe was very disappointing. The food was cold or had been sitting under warmers for too long.

1st off the location is amazing. The hotel is outdated like a ton of comments say but that didnt bother me. The issue i have is cleanliness, the room floors were dirty with noticeable debris all over. The bathroom has mold on the roof due to no bathroom ventilation. The plastic plug in the tub was white on top black on the bottom from mold and hair in the shower. I dont mind looking past a few things due to location but this hotel room definitely needs some help..

Mouse in room and was not accommodated. Cleanliness if carpet was bad and was not vacuumed prior to our stay. We found toe nail clippings imbedded in carpet.

This property requires some upkeep in cleanliness and plumbing. The carpet was dirty, and could've been the probable cause of the odd smell in the room. The sink looked like it hadn’t had a proper scrubbing, and the towels were sticky. But the main problem was the clog in the tub, the water would not drain while you showered, so they sent a person to unclog it but they weren’t able to fix it since it didn’t seem like they had the proper tools do so, so it stayed that way during the entirety of our stay. Would not stay here again even though location wise it is convenient, but for the price you’re paying, it’s DEFINITELY not worth it.

What can you say. You’re in Yosemite sitting on your balcony with amazing views in your face dark skies and stars with Huge El Cap down the road. Rooms are very worn and rustic but clean beds and towels. Worth it

The place is needing a full refreshment. It was the most dirty and dusty from hundreds of places I've stood in the last 10 years. The restaurants are good but the room itself is in very bad shape. To be able to sleep in the park you have to get it and they know this. Very low concurrence in a concession resulting in low value for your money.

Room clean. It was nice being near the restaurants and office. Our tv did not work but we didn’t go to Yosemite to watch tv so we didn’t complain. Overall all it was a good room at a reasonable price. It’s hard to have a bad time in Yosemite no matter how good or bad your room is.

This property is badly needing a renovation. You are paying big $ for staying in the park, particularly if you are paying in AUD. The bedding was clean and comfortable but the room could really do with a big clean, windows filthy, carpet needs ripping up. Why they don't put in the fake timber flooring which would be much more servable. The eating places did come as pleasant surprise, a well organised system of ordering, prompt service and a good enough choice of food. Tipping is not required and the prices were acceptable. Given there is no other close accommodation is what you have to weigh up.

The Lodge is badly in need of refreshing. The rooms looked like they were last painted and decorated in the 70's. Curtains are dusty, mold around the tub and the towels are well worn. And, the most annoying thing, the lights are old fixtures that have been refitted with fluorescent lamps that put out very little light. Used my phone flashlight to find my socks in my suitcase. And the internet is slow and sometimes you can't connect at all. However, the staff is friendly and tries hard to do what they can. Location is very good in the park. We were there in Late February and nothing was crowded. Oh, and our room was not available until after 4:30 and we had 5:30 dinner reservations. Still, we love the park, especially in winter when it is easy to get around and see everything.

It's Yosemite but this place is in serious need of a facelift. We stayed in the Aspen building. This was a flashback to the 80's. A lot of things were beat up and did not work. Sink plugged. Toilet leaking. Poor lighting. Beat up furniture. Need to run the auxiliary heather if you don't want to freeze. Given the amount of money they charge you think they would have accumulated a remodeling fund since 1982. Probably the worst hotel room I have stayed in in 30 years.

The shower pressure is less than ideal, but considering it's located inside the Park, we are grateful to just have a shower. The only major disappointment is the lack of Wi-Fi in the room. The check in time was not until 5:00pm but because we came to see the fire falls we were not able to check in to our room until after dark. We managed to get one of the closer parking spots which was still more than five minute walk to our room, our own flash lights are needed. We needed to make several trips because you cannot leave any food or coolers in the car. If you are on the second floor, there is no elevator. The hotel doesn’t have microwaves in the room because there is not enough power. The heater in the room only blew cold air but the plug in space heater was able to heat the room. The TV did not work even after doing what was suggested to unplug everything for an hour. I was told the TVs are old and don’t work. Then the power went out in the whole complex for five hours. There was power in the lobby and in the restaurants, I guess run by generators. Because it was so dark, the stars were beautiful. It’s so convenient being right there in the valley but I’m not sure it’s worth the other inconveniences. Check out was 10:00 am. No power for microwaves but they do have charging stations for electric cars.

This location CAN'T be beat. We basically walked across the street to Camp 4 for a Yosemite Falls hike, and then had easy access to the 1.5 mile walk to the El Capitan picnic area to view the firefalls. The food from the lounge was delicious and the service was incredible. The food from Basecamp Eatery was just okay. Kind of overpriced cafeteria food. Except for the pizza, the "personal pizza" was enough to share and tasted pretty good—especially after a 6.4 mile hike. We stayed in a king room on the end in the Alder building. The location right across from the lobby was great, no view other than trees outside our window. Even though I know our building was full, we never heard a peep from anyone else through the walls during our stay. The bed was too soft for my personal preference, but my husband thought it was fine. I felt like the room looked nicer in the pictures, but maybe some rooms have been updated and ours wasn’t? It was fine, just pretty worn with some cobwebs here and there. All in all, we would stay here again.

Yosemite falls View just right across the property and a nice view of from our room patio. Lodging inside the park is always convenient versus outside for obvious reasons ( but of course doing so cost us more). Rib eye steak dinner at Mountain lodge restaurant was excellent! Chicken teriyaki and pasta with turkey meatball at Base Camp eatery was also good. Walkable Visitor Center and Welcome Center. My only gripe really are the thin walls of the rooms. You could hear literally everything! One room occupant decided they'd keep their tv on all night. I did not get any sleep at all!

The Lodge is badly in need of refreshing. The rooms looked like they were last painted and decorated in the 70's. Curtains are dusty, mold around the tub and the towels are well worn. And, the most annoying thing, the lights are old fixtures that have been refitted with fluorescent lamps that put out very little light. Used my phone flashlight to find my socks in my suitcase. And the internet is slow and sometimes you can't connect at all. However, the staff is friendly and tries hard to do what they can. Location is very good in the park. We were there in Late February and nothing was crowded. Oh, and our room was not available until after 4:30 and we had 5:30 dinner reservations. Still, we love the park, especially in winter when it is easy to get around and see everything.

The staff and amenities (dining, walk ability, parking) were excellent. Easy to grab a bite to eat or go out for a nice dinner/drink. The rooms were clean, but just run-down and could definitely use a facelift. Other than that the stay was great! I would stay again just because it was so easy to get around and the brisket at the Lounge was amazing!

It was great to be right in the Valley. You can walk to trail heads & shuttle to the ones away from the valley. Beautiful location but property is very old & outdated. Staff at the check in all obviously hated their jobs & we’re not accommodating at all when our room wasn’t ready at check in.

Desk staff was VERY helpful!! Was close to yosemite falls trails, had 3 places for food, gift shop had alot of 'food/beverage' options for purchase.

The accommodations were fine, the patio and view were amazing! The bathroom floor had dirt by the tub and dirt on the outside of the tub. The young man that checked me in was unfriendly, never looked at me and ran through the directions and information so quickly mumbling. I had to ask him to repeat information. You could tell he had no interest in customer service or giving the guest an experience. Now the gentleman at the Lodge gift shop was friendly and gave me extra information. I requested a bottom floor for stair disability and it was great.Would I stay again, Yes!

Check in was unfriendly and unhelpful. Had to walk outside in snowy weather to get to room. Outdoor signage was unlit and could not see in the dark so it took 20min to find our room. Only heat in the room was a space heater. No WiFi in room. All good service was disappointing, we tried both restaurants on site and food was cold at each Neal. The staff (with the exception of the check in experience) were all very friendly and helpful, and went out of their way to make our stay pleasant. The staff locked the wrong room and when we asked them about it they was confused and wasn’t even sure about what was going on it took them so long to get the room open again and they said it wasn’t there fault

Great location with immediate views of Yosemite Falls from the car park. Great woodland lodge accomodation. Being in a valley, there is marginal WIFI and TV signal. But the natural beauty is incredible.

The Lodge is well located in the centre of the Yosemite Valley and provide immediate access to the valley and walks in the area. If you need to use the Yosemite Shuttle, it stops at the hotel, but due to the low season we had no issues parking around the valley. The lodge itself is very basic and old, very dingy even with the lights on and had an odd smell. They are due for a renovation but I guess this keeps their prices low. Once you step outside it does have amazing views of the mountains and Bridalveil Falls. In the summer you could sit outside the room and enjoy the views. The facilities around the lodge are fine but could definitely be improved. There is the canteen which was not the most inviting place to be. Food mediocre and expensive. There is a bar which had the fire on and everyone there seemed happier. The restaurant was quiet but food better.

Yosemite falls View just right across the property and a nice view of from our room patio. Lodging inside the park is always convenient versus outside for obvious reasons ( but of course doing so cost us more). Rib eye steak dinner at Mountain lodge restaurant was excellent! Chicken teriyaki and pasta with turkey meatball at Base Camp eatery was also good. Walkable Visitor Center and Welcome Center. My only gripe really are the thin walls of the rooms. You could hear literally everything! One room occupant decided they'd keep their tv on all night. I did not get any sleep at all!

Excellent location in the heart of the Yosemite National Park. Plenty of great walks from the Lodge with courtesy buses if necessary. Excellent catering facilities to suit all tastes and requirements. I would definitely come here again.

These rooms are not the latest modern facilities, but they were comfortable and mostly convenient to all the services in the valley that we needed - close to the valley loop for driving and getting around without having to leave the valley. The food was the one disappointment. It was adequate fast food for me, but my wife requires more vegetables and salads than were available. It got old fast for her. This used to be better, but has now sunk a level for us.

While the dining options were several and the food quite good, the location of dining was poor and confusing. The accommodations were in worn conditions and not well described in the booking info. Thus, our bedding was double beds, not queens. Staff were excellent, but the layout of facilities too spread out.

We live in California just an 1 1/2 hours away from Yosemite. This is the first time we have ever spent the night while visiting. Our son & his wife were visiting and love to hike. This was the perfect choice for us. Right in the valley with incredible views and close to where we wanted to be. The advantage of staying inside the park was well worth it. There’s a store, gift shop, a couple of options to eat and plentiful parking. The rooms have soap, lotion, shampoo, conditioner and shower gel available in dispensers. An iron and board, mini fridge, coffee pot are included. Our room also had a balcony which we didn’t use because it was too chilly. The Base Eatery was a little disappointing. They were out of many options for dinner. One of the soups was too spicy and was mostly onion but was supposed to be posolè. The pot pie soup lacked flavor. The breakfast bagel sandwiches were so overcooked that the bagels were rock hard. The oatmeal was delicious and plentiful. We had difficulty accessing the wifi. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

This location CAN'T be beat. We basically walked across the street to Camp 4 for a Yosemite Falls hike, and then had easy access to the 1.5 mile walk to the El Capitan picnic area to view the firefalls. The food from the lounge was delicious and the service was incredible. The food from Basecamp Eatery was just okay. Kind of overpriced cafeteria food. Except for the pizza, the "personal pizza" was enough to share and tasted pretty good—especially after a 6.4 mile hike. We stayed in a king room on the end in the Alder building. The location right across from the lobby was great, no view other than trees outside our window. Even though I know our building was full, we never heard a peep from anyone else through the walls during our stay. The bed was too soft for my personal preference, but my husband thought it was fine. I felt like the room looked nicer in the pictures, but maybe some rooms have been updated and ours wasn’t? It was fine, just pretty worn with some cobwebs here and there. All in all, we would stay here again.

Best place imo to stay inside the valley since Lower Falls are walkable, village is walkable, shuttle stops here, gift shops available, diner and bars, so much more. P.s. base camp diner had only 4 burgers options for dinner which was odd since it had a big menu for breakfast and lunch. But the food is great

This is a great location in Yosemite Valley with easy access to trails, attractions, and food service. The Canyon Cafe, Starbucks, and Mountain Bar were directly across the road from our lodge. The Canyon Cafe was very disappointing. The food was cold or had been sitting under warmers for too long.

There is absolutely no climate control (air conditioning or heat) in the rooms. They provide fans and a heater for the winter. Our room was 90 degrees all night. For $700 a night, this is ABSOLUTELY not worth it!! It is basically very expensive glamping!! It is very overpriced for what it is! The parking is also terrible! They don’t have dedicated parking and it took an hour of driving around to find parking.
