Beautiful location for the hotel. This was my first time experiencing watching a movie from the hotel room. Each room has an extensive view of the movie screen and in-room speakers for the audio. The experience was enjoyable. Good warm breakfast

Pros: This is fun movie themed place to stay where you can watch the drive-in movies from your room window with a speaker in the room. Room is old but clean and large. Cons: Kept seeing beetles in the room (some dead, some alive.) Laundry facilities old but adequate with one quarter operated washer and one dryer. Breakfast was decent.

Well kept hotel. Fridge didn’t work however. Good breakfast. Making reservations it said it was connected to a Drive in theater you could see from hotel. Did not mention it was closed for the season. Also saw room advertised day were were arriving for $40 less.

Movie sound was malfunctioning during the entire movie. Front desk said to tune in using the clock radio or go over to drive in and watch the movie there. Clock radio worked, but sound was awful. The movie experience was the point of staying here, I could have stayed somewhere else for half the price if I just wanted a room.

The speakers in the room were not working properly so it was hard to watch the drive-in/in room theater. The reason we stayed at the Movie Manor Best Western was to have the movie experience and it was very disappointing.

We missed some important information at check in. The draw of this hotel is the double, drive-in movie screens, showing current feature films each night. The guest chooses which movie to watch as films run simultaneously. However, sound for movie screen one is on speaker in the room; sound for movie screen two is by FM radio (this was the information we missed). Guests are welcome to drive in o4r watch the movies from the room. This is an interesting concept. If you plan on watching from the room, get one that is more toward the center of the complex. Our room was 101 - first floor of the building, closest to the hotel's breakfast room. We could not easily see screen two, and watching screen one was at an angle. The hotel is older. The windows had some paint flaking from water damage and there was a faint musty smell. The room was very clean (props to housekeeping) and the linen was in great condition. Sheets were super soft and the king sized bed was comfortable. Towels were good, hems intact and no damage, medium weight. The fridge was not on when we arrived so it took time to cool. Bathroom is really small, but full bath/shower, and fixtures showing age with loosening fittings, but overall good. Be aware that the grounds have stickers (sand burs) that will track in, catching in the carpet. Take off shoes at the entry prior to entering the room proper. The restaurant on the property was very good - staff was kind and efficient.

The front desk employee was curteous and let me check in early. Except the room was disgusting. The sink had some gross stuff splattered all over it. She was apologetic and gave Mae another room. That one was a little better but I found someone’s hair on the shower wall the next morning when I tried to take a shower. I was anxious about staying there one night. Luckily nothing worse was discovered. The rooms need a deep clean. I was stranded due to the snowstorm and. Had to stay in Del Norte an extra night. I had read prior reviews that complained about the cleanliness issues and a lot of those go back, so this is not a new issue. The managers response to those was there would be a meeting with the staff. Apparently, the meetings did nothing to address this. The front desk said the cleaning lady was in a rush well how do you walk out cleaning on gross sink like that I have no clue. Also, the water in the sink was never warm. The room is worth barely half of what I paid. Just because it is on a cheaper scale does not mean I would compromise cleanliness again. There are cheaper places that are very clean. Not this hotel I would not stay there again. Asked for a partial refund and it was refused.

I totally appreciate the concept they have going here, but the rooms are very outdated and not very clean. There was old coffee splashed on wall and smudges all over the tv. The window where you watch the movie was filthy, the smell was old and musty. Definitely not worth $140 a night. We actually only stayed 1 of the 2 nights we had booked.

Arrived late in the evening. Room was hot and stuffy. Took all night to cool off with a noisy A/C unit. Got in the shower only to discover that the soap dispenser was empty, so only able to rinse off. Refrigerator didn’t cool. Alarm clock time could not be adjusted. Tried to cancel second night stay at 9am in the morning, so they would have plenty of time to rent the room again and was told I could not cancel it and would be charged for both nights. Room was clean, but cannot recommend the property.

This hotel is very run down! The door to my room didn't seal properly, so there were black beetles that crawled under the door and were crawling all over the carpet. The shower curtain had a larger hole in it. The towels should have been replaced years ago. Overall cleanliness of the room was not good. No shampoo or body wash in the bottles in the shower. Asked the front desk for individual bottles and they told me that housekeeping filled them already. Housekeeping didn't fill them. Also if you are traveling with a pet, the entire property is covered in goat heads that will get stuck in pets fur and paws.

Too much to list! Best Western should take their name off this place and Expedia should remove it! The concept is GREAT and I really looked forward to having the grandkids watch from the room BUT the movie was NOT kid friendly nor was it funny. The window was FILTHY and tough to see out of so the movie from the room idea is worthless. MOLD, YES LOTS OF MOLD in the shower, AND I have pictures. Miserably dated and worn! It's fine for constructions crews and truckers but families should AVOID THIS PLACE! He was nowhere to be found when I got there to check in and didn't answer his little bell. He pulled up in his car (why no 'be back in 10 note) and was put off that he had to do this. His English was okay, but his dialect and inflection was horrible, and I had to ask him a few times to repeat what he said and after the second time he got angry and just slammed stuff around. I have NEVER written a revies like this but please take my advice and AVOID THIS PLACE! Fun idea but zero delivery!

Room was clean and comfortable but properly needed renovation. Was very disappointed in the movie experience. Could only see the screen from half of our bed and it was so far away you couldn’t make out faces or read any words . Cars ran in and out through the whole movie and headlights hit you right in the eyes . If your going for a comfortable room it’s good , if your going for the movie experience- skip it . The food selection was very limited in the town also .

If you’re a movie lover this place is fun! It is very run down for transparency. Poor condition for the rooms like peeling wall paper and none of outlets worked (we didn’t let them know until morning because we had charge boxes on us and then think it was a breaker). It was though thoroughly cleaned. The floors and surfaces felt clean even if everything is in desperate need of an update. The bed was comfortable and you could see both screens from the room. Every staff person we encountered was super friendly and helpful. The breakfast was surprisingly decent and the view in the morning was stunning. If you are looking for higher end or nice new rooms this is not for you, but if you want a stopover that’s clean with good service with a unique focus it’s worth a stay.

Staff was very helpful in checking me in early, to a room choice I wasn't able to specify through Expedia. Room was clean and bed/pillows were nice. Tub was a bit slow to drain, but usable for short showers. Arrived late in the evening. Room was hot and stuffy. Took all night to cool off with a noisy A/C unit. The best part of the stay was being able to watch the drive in movie from your room. It is an older hotel though and the walls are very thin. We could hear our neighbors quite easily just talking in their normal voices.

I was able to get a room with a walk-in shower on very short notice. I am disabled with mobility challenges. The walk-in shower is well designed. The gentleman who checked us in was very professional. The room smells unclean, the carpet is filthy and worn, needs to be replaced. The beds are very hard/firm.

The room was large, bed and pillows were comfortable, and bathroom clean. Watching a drive-in movie from our room was cool and a nice bonus on our trip. We like the continental breakfast before we left.

Look the drive in movie part was cool if you were there on time. You could watch from your room too. Other than that...not so good. Bird droppings all over the stair and walkways, peeling wall paper, horribly rough towels and rags, someof them yellowed. Staff was not helpful. I rang a bell at desk and no one came, but I could see them sitting in the next room. Didn't budge. Would not return, nor Reccommend. Breakfast buffet was decent though.

The idea of a drive-in movie motel is interesting, but could not see the screen with any lights on in the unit. No instructions as to how to listen to the movie (discovered accidentally). The clerk at check in was quite unfriendly. The bathroom had moisture damage and a smelly shower curtain. Located 2 miles out of town.

I have stayed here before and had no major issues. This time was a whole different story. We checked in around 9:15 pm and decided to go to town to pick a few things up. When we arrived back at the hotel we went to our room…or what we thought was our room. I swiped the key card and the inside latch was latched. We called the front desk to make them aware that the door would not open. Maintenance was called to help us. Upon arriving maintenance used the key and then broke the latch to let us in only to find that the room was already rented to SOMEONE ELSE!! A man jumped out of bed in shock surprised that his door had just been broken. Upon apologizing we were offered a room right next door to the double booked room we were offered at first!! We declined to stay there and were given a room on the bottom floor. We would have gone elsewhere but due to our late arrival and lack of rooms nearby we chose to stay in the room offered. Luckily the situation did not escalate, as barging in on a sleeping person could have ended up much worse!

The buildings look old and tatty, especially the Mexican restaurant on the property. The receptionist did not seem to know what he was doing and called the lady manager who got us registered. We had to call her to get the TV to work and she responded promptly

I liked the drive-in movie, an experience my 16 years old never had, be was fascinated. The staff, I guess must be the owners are very friendly. After traveling all the west states, is the first hotel of this range with a good breakfast, eggs, different kind of breads, a choice of yogurts, fruits, something that unfortunately be do not see this days, congratulations

Upon arrival, new front desk gentleman, was not friendly at all. I had called both hotels.com and the hotel directly the night before to let them know one of my party was sick and we were not a no show but would arrive the following day. Both hotels.com and the hotel assured me that my room would not be cancelled. I arrived, to be told by the unfriendly new front desk guy that my room had automatically been cancelled due to no show. I later learned that he cancelled it. I had paid in advance to hotels.com in full. He then proceeded to make a new reservation and charged me again for the same room. I called hotels.com, explained, and they refunded me for the 2nd night then the hotel recharged. It took me about 30 mins to check in, after a 4 hour drive. The front desk guy was clearly annoyed, never apologized, never smiled . . . 0 customer service. That guy needs a lesson in "hospitality."

Large open area around property, but full of goatheads which got into dog's feet and we tracked into the room. Annex for guests with visitors seperated from main unit which afforded quiet to most guests. Friendly staff, prompt response to problems. Good hot breakfast. It’s a pretty old place and thus pretty shabby. It was clean enough, the beds were very clean, the staff was friendly and helpful. The area around it was also pretty rundown with some questionable items strewn about. It served its purpose for us just driving through town.

Really fun place to stay due to the drive in! So comfy to watch a movie from the room. Turning off the highway into the hotel we a little sketchy with the speed limit. Room was clean and we had a great night.

Fun adventure, great overnight excursion from Denver. Super friendly staff, beautiful views of the mountains surrounding the San Luis Valley. Area around the hotel and guest rooms are unremarkable (other than being able to watch a drive in movie from inside your room, of course!), but the lobby/breakfast area is nice and there is a Mexican restaurant and full snack bar with hot food and samosas on site.

The staff was very kind and the breakfast was pretty typical for a continental breakfast. The rooms weren’t necessarily dirty but in need of an upgrade. The drive in movie screens can be seen from the bed which is a unique feature and could potentially be a great place to stay, but if you are a clean freak or get nervous about cleanliness at hotels I wouldn’t recommend.

First, the good! Very soft, comfy mattress and pillows. Check-in was great, very nice desk clerk. Sadly, that’s all of the good news. I stayed in room 105. It smells strongly of mold, which gave me a headache and made sleeping difficult. Towels are like sandpaper and very stained and yellowed. Stained comforter. Breakfast was disgusting. The bottom of the shower curtain is full of mildew. Other than the comfy bed and nice lady at check-in, it was awful. There are much better choices within a short distance. Don’t stay here.

I loved this place. Strong internet. Clean. Nice room arrangement. The bathroom area was separated from the bedroom and living room area by a wall. I could get up early, take a shower, etc., early in the morning and not disturb my girlfriend. I loved the concept of the hotel being built right next to the drive-in theatre. Sadly, there was not a movie showing. I would have loved watching a movie from the room. I would like to add that the shower head was farther than six feet, two inches off the ground because I could stand fully erect in the shower. I did not have to stoop. This hotel paid the extra five or six bucks to add an additional 12 inches or so to the shower height. BRAVO!!! We enjoyed the Monte Vista wildlife area. It was a great jumping off point for the sand dunes and my property near Antonito. I'm not a breakfast fan, but the breakfast was pretty good, too. I really, really would like to recommend this hotel. I would like to see them do well and I will certainly stay there again in the future. 5-stars. A+++. A cool place to stay and a cool, movie theme for the hotel. Stay here. Do it. Highly recommended. CLEAN!!!

The hotel needs a face lift. The wall paper is stained and cannot be wiped off. Ceiling tiles need to be replaced in the bathroom. You can tell the tub has been there since it was built. Staff was nice and it was nice to park right in front of room.

This location will be a hard pass for my family next time. Location was oK from the cleanliness standpoint but didn't feel clean. Worst part was that the door security and bathroom window (that faces the walkway) locks were both broken off and we were unable to properly lock the room.

Had a little trouble understanding the clerk at check in. room was dated some but very clean. breakfast was the usual hotel fare but was as good as you expect. Actually enjoyed the movie and managed to stay awake for the whole thing.
