Exceeded expectations. Clean, comfortable, unique. Loved the friendly service all around - especially the door man! The cozy hidden bar in the back was a special treat, with the warm fire, comfortable seating, and lovely service. Wouldn’t change a thing - a unique, affordable, and classy stay.

The building has historic 1920s charm. The hallways were dimly lit (kinda creepy) and the bathroom area was uncomfortably humid. Good location and service, though. The restaurant is overpriced and there was only one server for a full dining room so it took forever.

Check-in was very basic, and we weren’t informed about essential things like Wi-Fi access or breakfast details. The room felt quite worn down, and several things didn’t work properly. Facilities were also very limited. For example, the gym was poorly equipped. We paid 400 dollars per night, and unfortunately, it just wasn’t worth the money.

This beautiful older hotel was stellar. The bar is cozy and exceptional. The dining room was a treat for breakfast or dinner. Our room may have been the cleanest room we've every had. It was a terrific 6 night stay.

Nice size of rooms, separate living room and bedroom. Very quiet, clean and excellent location. Walked to see Whitehouse with my 8 yr daughter. There's a shopping store nearby (whole foods). Plenty to see and do. I highly recommend staying here. We had a car that we parked in a public parking garage near the hotel. The hotel parking is very expensive $60 per day. The pub parking is half that price. Ideally you should Uber, no need for car in this part of the city.

Loved the hotel. People need to be aware that the elevators are small in case they might be claustrophobic. one elevator holds 6-8 people and the other elevator will hold 4 but not comfortably. I'm not claustrophobic but felt like I was in a small box.

Good location. Slow or broken elevator. Not enough shelf or towel rack space in bathroom. No cabinets in bathroom. Broken hair dryer. Shower or bathtub control didn’t work. But a good restaurant and attentive doormen.

Have stayed here in the past and I was aware Hotel is older but enjoyed my previous stay. Decided to stay here again but this time around the experience was unpleasant, the TV wasn’t working, mini fridge was dirty with previous’ guest old food I want to say it was, but not sure, didn’t request to switch rooms because they were very accommodating and allowed me to check in early after a long early flight and had already unpacked by the time I noticed everything. Won’t be repeating the stay even though is super convenient as it’s next to work when I travel to DC.

Hotel Lombardy was disappointing. If you're looking to encounter insect wildlife in your bed, this is the place for you. My fiancé developed several large red spots on his foot and couldn’t sleep for even an hour due to irritation and a rash from the bugs. Additionally, there was no refrigerator in our unit, and we were informed that only two units on that floor lacked one. The only positive note: the outdoor staff, particularly the valet, were nice and respectful. I hope everyone has a nice stay there, unlike the experience we had.

We were greeted most cordially by the doorman and reception.The lobby area was clean and inviting with chairs to sit The room was spacious and clean and was well attended every day. Thr bathroom was very roomy, if a little dated. I live that there is a separation for shower/toilet and sink area and they is plenty of counter space. I like that they gave us water bottles. Our view out to the street was nice! The breakfast in the restaurant was really delicious and the decor made me feel as though I were in Morocco. The music was 40s ans 50s which added to the ambiance. The whole vibe of the hotel made me feel like I was in a time past which I absolutely loved. The location was great. We were able to walk many places. It was reasonably priced. We would definitely stay here again!!

Cleanest hotel I've been to lately. Everything was spotless in the room. Valet service was very convenient as well. It's a very well located hotel. Very close to GWU. I'll keep staying at Hotel Lombardy every time I go visit my son in college.

Lovely. Historic 6 th floor please check outlets. Plugs don’t stay in outlets. Slow draining tub. Need lightbulbs for some lamps. Toilet didn’t always flush. Had to open lid to get water going.

I had a very pleasant stay. The staff were helpful and kind. The only gripe is that bathtub did not drain well. I had to finagle the plug to get it to drain properly. The mechanism is broken. FYI. This is in room 714.

Very comfortable and roomy accommodations. Perfect location convenient to GWU as we were dropping off child for college. Opted for nearby lot parking which saved some $. Inadvertently left laptop at hotel; called and mailed it promptly back to me. Would happily stay there again.

We recently stayed at Hotel Lombardy in Washington, D.C. and had a mixed experience. On the positive side, the staff was extremely helpful and kind throughout our stay, which we truly appreciated. However, the hotel itself feels very outdated—perhaps understandably so, given that it is a historic property. The furniture and room accessories are quite old-fashioned, and the air conditioner was very noisy. It was so loud that we had to turn it off during the night because we simply couldn’t sleep with it on. Our room was on the second floor, and we could clearly hear the street noise from outside, which made it difficult to rest. Additionally, the room, bathroom, and shower were all rather small, and again, everything inside looked quite dated. While the charm of a historic hotel can be appealing to some, we felt that certain updates—especially to the furniture and infrastructure—are long overdue.

Love The Lombardy. Have stayed there numerous times. However, this room - 413 - does not have a full length mirror, so I had to stand in the bed to get something close to a full length view. Also, the electric outlet in the bathroom needs to be replaced; it’s loose and does not securely hold an appliance prong.

Staff and service is always excellent at The Lombardy. It’s a very old hotel so rooms are a bit quirky, but that said they are comfortable, spacious, clean, and have big windows. The desk and door/car staff are always friendly, helpful, just super.

Wolde is a fabulous Doorman. Each time I visit this property he is there, helpful, and has a huge smile. The rooms are perfect and the location couldn’t be better. The staff is warm and welcoming.

I handed in my laundry, but even after three days, it hadn’t come back. Despite repeatedly asking the front desk to look into the matter, they were unable to locate it. It was only at check-out that we discovered it had been delivered to a different hotel. In the end, the laundry was safely returned to me, but I wish appropriate action had been taken sooner.

Wonderful place to stay when visiting DC. Able to walk to the museums and close to a metro stop. An upgraded room was a special bonus! Nice doormen were so helpful with directions.

We were greeted by super friendly staff before we even stepped into the facility. Checking in was easy, very nice and accommodating. Provided a map and information for us. They took pride in their building, saw a gentleman constantly buffing the poles that held up the exterior awning! They held doors for us, always greeted us with a smile. The room was spotless, spacious and very comfortable. The food in the restaurant was delicious and the waitstaff and bar tender were superb. The location was convenient, between 2 Metro lines and not an excessively long walk to see local sites. We used Lyft a couple of times and never waited more than 5 minutes. Over all an excellent experience, thank you to all!!

Check in was nice. We had a super friendly staff member help us with our luggage. After a late dinner we returned to the room and our tv was not working. A staff member came up and couldn’t fix it so he called front desk clerk to see if tv could be switched out. Clerk said “No. That can’t be done and I gotta go I have another call”. Nothing was done. In the morning we notified the manager and she said “Well, tv’s can’t be switched.” And this was our first and last time staying here.

The Hotel is really cool and has a lot of history. The staff were fantastic and took really good care of us. We arrived early and they found another room for us as ours wasn't ready yet so we unpack and go about our day. We had an issue with our AC making noise the first night and, not wanting to complain because they had been so accommodating, I asked if they could fix it while we were out for the day. They couldn't fix it, but when we got back at the end of the day, they made arrangements for us to move to an upgraded room. All in all, they went out of thier way to make us comfortable from the time we arrived at the hotel to the time we left to go to the airport. I highly recommend the Lombardy and will stay there again the next time we are in DC!

Love love love the Hotel Lombardy. It is an historic gem, full of character. The location is perfect. Across the street from dining options and a couple of blocks from a CVS and a Whole Foods store. We were 15 minutes walk from the White House. The sights were easily accessible on foot. (We are Brits and we like to walk around). We felt very safe in the area. The beds were so comfortable, we could have taken them home! A big shout out to Muhammed in the restaurant who could not do enough for us. I highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel is quaint and an historic landmark. It is conveniently located in NW Washington, DC. There is a hospital nearby so you hear sirens frequently. The staff are extremely nice and attentive, and the room was exceptionally clean. The only thing that we weren't pleased with was the restaurant. My husband's breakfast order was wrong but he didn't realize until he started eating it. We told the wait staff and they did offer to give him what he originally ordered, however, he declined as he had eaten his fill. They provided danishes as a compensation but they were not fresh. I highly recommend the hotel and also recommend finding alternate dining choices.

The staff were wonderful and the location couldn’t be beat. I enjoyed my stay so much that I have booked this hotel again for my next trip to DC. My only complaint is that on the Monday morning of our stay there were very noisy sanitation and other service vehicles outside our window starting at about 5:30 am. It was steady loud noise for at least the next hour and a half. I wasn’t able to get back to sleep. I will ask not to have a room facing the alley on my next stay.

We were greeted most cordially by the doorman and reception.The lobby area was clean and inviting with chairs to sit The room was spacious and clean and was well attended every day. Thr bathroom was very roomy, if a little dated. I live that there is a separation for shower/toilet and sink area and they is plenty of counter space. I like that they gave us water bottles. Our view out to the street was nice! The breakfast in the restaurant was really delicious and the decor made me feel as though I were in Morocco. The music was 40s ans 50s which added to the ambiance. The whole vibe of the hotel made me feel like I was in a time past which I absolutely loved. The location was great. We were able to walk many places. It was reasonably priced. We would definitely stay here again!!

Exceeded expectations. Clean, comfortable, unique. Loved the friendly service all around - especially the door man! The cozy hidden bar in the back was a special treat, with the warm fire, comfortable seating, and lovely service. Wouldn’t change a thing - a unique, affordable, and classy stay.

The building has historic 1920s charm. The hallways were dimly lit (kinda creepy) and the bathroom area was uncomfortably humid. Good location and service, though. The restaurant is overpriced and there was only one server for a full dining room so it took forever.

Proximity to GWU makes it an automatic for visiting parents. Hotel is beautiful, old school, the rooms are large and the bathrooms have the best showers. The Four Five Coffee shop moved in two doors down which only makes staying at the hotel better. The hotel staff are all excellent, caring, and personally engaged to ensure a comfortable stay. Skip the onsite restaurant as there are plenty of much better options within easy walking distance (North Italia, Toryumon, Tatte, Circa).

This beautiful older hotel was stellar. The bar is cozy and exceptional. The dining room was a treat for breakfast or dinner. Our room may have been the cleanest room we've every had. It was a terrific 6 night stay.

We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Lombardy! The staff was incredibly attentive. The Venetian Bar was a good spot for cocktails, with cozy, historic feels. The location was perfect for us and within walking distance of restaurants and bars, as well as a quick ride-share to Nationals’ Park and the National Mall.

The staff was amazing. Friendly and very helpful. The food is very good in the restaurant. Will stay there again. It's an old hotel that has been brought along with time. If your looking for a place that has no flaws, this is not your place. But if you enjoy old buildings with one of the best staff, this is your place.

Staying at a hotel with “character” we should have known some of this: LOTS of “character” on the third floor, particularly charming was when the upstairs people finally came back at close to midnight after we were asleep, we were treated to two hours of creaking floor boards. As a bonus we could hear exactly what they were doing on the toilet! Hotel staff was super friendly and helpful, they moved us to the top floor. The hotel is very clean, the bedding is super comfy, though the mattress felt like a plank. Bathrooms are clean and bright. The airco on the third floor (suite) worked excellent, worked less well on the 11th floor. Water pressure great on the third floor, much less on 11th (besides these was a sewer odor coming out of the sink every time we ran water, nothing too bad unless you put your head close to it). Their restaurant food explained the pungent grease smell, but there are several excellent restaurants nearby. The location was great - only a few blocks from the WH. Again, super friendly staff, clean place, good sleep if your upstairs neighbors don’t move around.

Very friendly personell and we got upgraded free of charge. The room was nice, the hotel is retro and cool. It’s situated very well for my work purposes. I didn’t have breakfast in my price so I cannot say how it was. The only minus was that the air conditioner didn’t work so we opened the window. It was very hard to open though.

The doormen were so nice and lovely. Hotel room was nice and clean my only issue was we were put on the top floor and we could not get our ac to work so we just slept with the windows open. But overall I would stay here again very clean and nice and close to everything. For 50$ a day you can have your car there and they’ll valet it to you as you please.
