Extended Stay America Suites - Fort Lauderdale - Davie

Property in good location, but has not been maintained in years. They are renovating the parking areas, making access difficult. The common areas are filthy. Rooms are very small and VERY basic (one chair, one nightstand and a double size bed with no blanket). Though they tout they have all the necessities for longer-term stays, the kitchen is useless as there are no plates, utensils, pots, pans, soap or even paper towels. There's no ice available, and we had to change rooms because the A/C was inoperative, TV inoperative and a spill of Coke on the nightstand, never cleaned. Some lamps had no bulbs and all lamp shades were bent, broken, dirty or otherwise unattractive. Area felt generally unsafe (fighting "guests" on the walkways). All for a "bargain" price of almost $160 on a midweek stay. Two stars is generous.

Stay away from this hotel if you are traveling with kids. There is cockroach in the room. I'm still worried I might unintentionally carry few cockroach back to my home from luggage. Elevator floor not clean. No luggage trolley (first time seeing a hotel without a trolley), Location is good near to highway and next to Costco.

Checkin agent unfriendly and looked like she did not like her job. No frills hotel,poor location , very very old property, kitchen horrible, no ice machines you had to request dishes and utensils you wanted . Based on photos of kitchen I would Not use !! Property rooms needs to be renovated. Also rooms need to be thoroughly cleaned for new guest(s). Good location & in walking distance to shopping plaza and restaurants.

They say breakfast only coffee muffins no breakfast I would never go back and charging for Internet no good.

One of the cheaper hotels in the area, so I wasn’t expecting a lot. Just needed a place to sleep. For the money, I did expect a little bit more. The sink wouldn’t drain, one of the cupboard doors looks like it had been snapped in half and poorly glued back together. In the bathroom, the fan sounded like it was about to fly apart. It also looks like somebody unpacked all of the cash from a bank heist and a package exploded in the bathroom. A bunch of purple dye/paint on the shelf. Lots of noise and loud music well past midnight. Made it very hard to get any sleep. Walking the dogs, there was some grassy places nearby, that were full of fresh dog, poop, and broken bottles, I was watching for used syringes. It was so bad. I don’t expect the staff to clean up that area, but they should at least clean it once in a while so that people can walk their dogs. A station with Doggy bags would go along way. We pick up after our dogs, a lot of people don’t. A doggy bag station would help people who do the right thing continue to do the right thing. As for breakfast in the morning, it’s a Takeaway breakfast. We got there about 10 minutes before they close down. all that was left was a couple of muffins. One thing of no, the girl who is taking care of the front desk seemed like she hadn’t slept in 48 hours. She was still personable and tried to help she can. I will gladly spend a little more time for a different hotel.

Although the rate was very good the room was old and needed some simple updates like paint on the walls and replacing cabinet and interior doors that were disintegrating all along the bottoms. The inside of the cabinets were old and stained. The grounds were fine for building one and two but our building number three was absolutely filthy with scattered garbage. Overflowing garbage cans right in front of my room and under the staircase open cans of food were everywhere. It looked like someone was living there. I also needed to use the bathroom after driving 3 hours to the hotel and not only was my room still not ready but there was no bathroom in the lobby for me to use. I had to drive next door to Costco to use their bathroom and wait for my room.

Hotel in poor condition, needs huge upgrades

The property is a bit shabby away from the main building. The toilet had a "sensor" that allowed the tank to fill but several times, there was no water in the tank. I thought it was broken, but the maintenance man explained that it was a water saving feature. The shower had such low water pressure, that should have been enough in savings! The most popular Cosco in town was just across the street, so traffic was very heavy day and night. I killed two German Roaches in the bathroom, a dog in the next room barked continually when his people where away and there was no loaner hairdryer. The nice front desk ladies were pleasant and one did loan me a coffee maker, but a person would assume there would be one provided in an "extended stay" facility. Sorry, for the prices, I certainly couldn't recommend this place, except that there are restaurants and shopping nearby.

Not as advertised at all. This place looks like it has not been updated since 1970. One building has an elevator and 2 others DO NOT. Would have been nice if they told us at front desk before we hauled our 5 bags upstairs !! Senior Citizens need to know this and they should have offered help.

I had to bring to the front desk attention via pics that the bathroom was filthy and was cleaned before I spent the night in the space.

The room was filthy. I had to clean the whole room because I could barely breathe in there. I walked across the floor barefoot and the soles of my feet looked like I walked on that asphalt outside. I got a mop & bucket and cleaned it myself - I have a picture of the dirty water from only 1/4 of the room. All the little 'ledges' were crusted with dust & dirt. I don't think anyone has ever wiped the outside door handle/plate. The bathroom is disgusting, it may have been wiped down since the last customer, but it's hard to tell because the fixtures are so stained it would be impossible to make them even look clean. The stove was also disgusting, it was rusted and I was afraid to use it. I got a toaster but didn't use it either because it had what looked like grease on the top of it. I have pictures of everything stated here. The door had no sweep on it and dirt kept blowing into the room.The A/C unit was so bad that stuff kept blowing into the room and dropping out of the bottom of it. I stayed only 2 nights of my purchased 5 night stay and I paid over $700 to sleep in this dirt?

The bathroom was dirty, people’s hair around the toilet and shower, they said was a non smoking room and was terrible the smell of cigarettes and weed. Dirty and smelly carpets. Mattress in terrible condition, my back was hurting me for those two days staying there. Location highly not recommend. For the price i paid you can get something much better.

I kept having to bring my keycard to the front desk each and every single time I needed to get into my room. Didn’t expect a super clean property but the shower was unacceptably disgusting to the point it was unusable.

The room reeked with an indistinguishable odor and smelled of smoked even though it was a no-smoking room. My daughter with asthma was highly affected by this.. The beds were filthy, I slept on top of the bed coverings considering they had stains on them, I had to put a towel on my pillow because it reeked, one of the lights had sparked fire when I turned it on and started making sizzling noises, the in-room sink and fridge were dirty, the bathroom sink and counter were filthy and had stains and markings on them, the tub had mildew and mold, the TV didnt work, the lists goes on.. needless to say, I am highly disappointed as I expected more from this hotel.

Where do I start?? The hotel had german cockroaches, it smelled very bad of cigarettes and like the Goodwill. It hasn't been updated since the 80's. The bathtub filled up with water past my ankle. Had to get services in there to unclog. There was a profalatic wrapper on the bedside. This place NEVER gets cleaned. The bathtub also had hair and debris all over. The janitorial staff do not clean. This place is a nightmare and absolutely disgusting. Should be condemned. The appliances were full of rust and baseboards were falling off the walls. There are creepy vagrants and drug dealers offering drugs throughout the day/night. This place reminded me of a horror movie. NEVER AGAIN!!

The check-in process was quick and easy. However, when we arrived at the room, it was dirty and disgusting, with food and drinks left behind. I traveled from Kissimmee and, despite the previous guests checking out between 10-11 AM, no one had cleaned the room. After a four-hour car ride with exhausted and hungry children, this was the worst experience ever.

Everything was great. My 1 complaint is the bed frame scrapped on the floor every time you rolled over, got up etc. you could hear the floor above us. Otherwise would definitely stay again.

The whole space felt rundown. There was a puddle of water next to the bathroom sink. No shampoo. Cabinetry was delaminating. Bed was really uncomfortable.

There was hair on the bathroom sink constantly hearing outside noise of doors slamming. People hanging outside on the stairs and to many people walking the Premises odd hours of the night.

Room was very worn out. Carpet thread bare. Thin mattress. Mold in shower.

Okay it was spring break. Noice till 3 am. The room needed a lot of fixing. The cover for the a/c was hanging loose, the toilet was hanging in the air, you sit on it down to the floor, you get up it bounces up behind you, the bath sink was so clogged it took 15 minutes to drain. The fan under the range hood was grouse. Told these problems at check out.

I had to wait 15 minutes for someone to arrive at the front desk to check in. Once someone arrived to check me in, she informed there was no room for me. The manager showed up 5 minutes later and miraculously found one for me. Upon entering the room, it smelled like 10 men had smoked cigarettes in the room for a week straight. I went back to the front desk to change rooms or get refunded and waited 25 minutes for someone to show up. Once someone arrived, she was unable to assist me and I had to wait even longer for the manager. The manager refused to help me as I was checking out and there were people who wanted to check in (despite the fact that I had the only available room when I checked in). The manager gave me a lot of attitude and would not even give me a receipt of proof of check out or assure me that I would get my money back. I had to find another hotel and was late to my plans. Horrible hotel in every service and cleanliness/condition aspect. Would never stay at again. Still waiting on email proof of receipt/refund.

Drove 4 hours to get there, front desk lobby was lock, empty and dark. No was answering the phone. Long story short, the worker was doing laundry and said he works in the laundry room, not the front. However he is the one checking in guest after late hours. Paid 260 to only to lose sleep. Arrive at 2:30am checked in 4am, leaving at 7am. No refund or accommodations.

Terrible is a word that is not enough to describe my family experience nor mine. It was not humane. I booked 3 bedrooms for 4 nights. No customer service during late night. No one pick up the phone. Employees are well trained with the "Im sorry culture!" Bedrooms are dirty, dusty, non functional appliances, no kitchen utensils in bedroom (You have to ask them and pick them up at lobby when they are available. Need pillows and clean towels and blankets??? Sorry, no pillows available according to employees. Sorry, you have to bring dirty towels to the lobbyif you want clean towels. Sorry, Urgent line for emergencies is not available, they never picked up. Keys deactivate themselves and I had to go every single day to activate them. I spent 3 hrs in my car at 2am because my husband was sleeping and i had no key. So I went to the lobby to get another key, but no one solved the issue. I slept in my car!!!!! Dont stay here. I'll file a formal complaint with their corporate offices.

I went back to my room at 10:30am only to find my door open and signs that someone was in my room before check out and items that I left in the room was stolen. This is not the first time I’ve stay at this location and housekeeping has gone in my room as early as 9am and cleaned my room and I requested a late check out for 12 noon yet all my things was discarded and the room was half cleaned. I think it is outrageous for anyone to enter a guest room without permission and before the check out time none the less and now I feel it unsafe and untrustworthy because now not only are you invading my privacy but they also steal and went through the draws and everything. Another thing I get there to check in for 3pm and there is never anyone at the front desk they would have you wait 30-45 mins just to check in but then want to be in your room bright and early before check out to check you out for the price you charge a night it ludicrous. And don’t get me started on the condition of some of the room about disgusting

I unfortunately had the worst experience at this property. I booked this extended stay while transitioning homes and having a gap of time in between. The room where we stayed at smelled like weed every single evening upon arriving from work/school. My asthmatic daughter developed Asthma attacks while staying at this hotel due to the strong odor of weed and cigarretes. The staff were beyond helpful to try to provide an odorless room however it was only one bed instead of 2 bc they were sold out. I paid for a room with double beds, and half of my stay was actually a room with only one bed. I was forced to split my family and look for further accomodations. People who lived or stay there throw garbage everywhere and they sit and smoke on the stairs next to the sign that clearly stays "no smoking." In addittion, ramdom cars are always parked in the parking lot with people which is very suspicious and feels somewhat unsafe especially at night. I do not recommend spending a dollar on this property. The keys will continually get deactivated and you were forced to go to the lobby upon your arrival daily. The ladies at the front desk are sweethearts "Alicia and Delvah" but unfortunately they really try to make magic to make their guest feel comfortable with the conditions and many issues this property have.

My check in was from 3pm on… I arrived late at 12 midnight and the desk clerk kept arguing with me and telling me there was an extra charge for checking in early when in fact I was a late check in

The staff was excellent, very helpful, and a pleasant experience to stay at this location.

Quiet location. Heart of the city

Luckily I brought something that made the room smell better! We sprayed then went to dinner and when we got back it wasn’t too bad! They gave us a small discount when checking out! On the good side it was a convenient location!

There are many shopping areas and restaurants that are walkable. Close to the highway.

Close to a big shopping center

This place is disgusting and your car isn't safe in the parking lot. I didn't even want to take a shower in the filthy bathroom. We put towels down on the carpet so we felt comfortable walking in the room. My husband moved the recliner in front of the door for the night to block it. This place is not worth of the hotel chain name. Drive further to a better neighborhood.

This place really came in clutch. I had a nice quiet nights sleep, and it was right in the heart of many eateries and shopping places. 2 thumbs-up.

Dirty. Loud street traffic. Their idea of breakfast is coffee and instant oatmeal. Seems more like it’s used low income housing. Sketchy people all over the property.

Very disappointed with my stay. I choose this hotel for two reasons - breakfast included and coffee maker in room. Well breakfast was free coffee and there was no coffee maker in room. I went to front desk to request and she was so nonchalant, had an I don’t care attitude and proceeded to tell me that people break the coffee makers so there are non available and I can have coffee upfront in the morning. I was going to a wedding and wanted to get ready in my room, drink my own coffee, relax and then grab a quick breakfast before I left - needless to say I was unable to do none of that. I probably would not have been so disappointed if front desk staff was more friendly and less attitude. Find a better place to stay. Oh… and I found roaches in my room too.

I didn’t like the room(209). Garbage was under the bed,room carpet smells awful,bathtub rotted,also “breakfast included” wasn’t breakfast,was only coffee,hot water to prepare pouched chocolate and minis muffins.The 2 others room 354 and 356 also dusty and air conditioners not running so well.I paid more than enough for 1 night,plus $100.00 deposit,that’s takes around 5 business day to be deflect in my account.

The breakfast could be improved.

Basically, it looked good. Room 108. It looked recently renovated. The floors looked great and the appliances were nice. However, the air conditioning unit's blowned air smelled musty. The filters were clean, so the unit itself needs a deep clean. I found cockroaches in the electric socket by the bed. Also, for almost $240, the "breakfast" "grab and go" was coffee and packages of instant grits, was an insult. And you had to use a coffee cup as a bowl.

There was a roach dead inside the fridge and breakfast was supposed to be included but it was mini Mifflins and granola bars. That is NOT breakfast. Will NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN

Nothing special about this location. Didn't find a garbage can until the last day. Under the bathroom cabinet. Can tell this location is high traffic from the mars on cabinets/ counters and stains in carpet. No continental breakfast. Only coffee, tea at the front. No juice for people like me who doesn't drink coffee or tea. A few junk food type grab and go foods. Only needed something for 2 nights.
