You should keep notice to a time of flood tide. The parking lot will be flood up. In the worst case, you may not be able to leave the hotel on time and your car may be damaged. Of course, sometimes an emergency escape will be an exciting and fun experience. My family was enjoying it after check out and I had to drive in a parking lot like a lake. LoL But we should be more carefully to book this hotel again or not.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. This is our first time ever being in this area and after a long day of traveling check in went smooth. They were able to give us some good ideas on where to eat. Helped us get to the back patio so we could enjoy the scenic view all lit up at night.

Parking lot next to the property was heavily flooded due to rain. Fitness room didn't really have much. Breakfast offered is not great - orange juice tasted watery. Food was very low quality. Staff was excellent and facility is very clean - just feel they should step up the quality of the food offered at breakfast especially for the $300 we paid for the night. Used to cost around $120-$170 a night.

I had a comfortable, clean, and quiet overnight stay at Comfort Inn Edgewater! Sojo Spa is right across the street, and there’s plenty of shopping and dining nearby. The staff are kind and helpful, there’s a small convenience store in the lobby, and breakfast is available in the mornings. Nice sidewalk along the river next to the hotel, too!

Rained and the parking lot flooded but they didn't warn us so several guests vehicles were destroyed including my RV and Ford Escape and i did not have water damage coverage so I'm out 40 grand and they would only comp one night for me even though I'm from California with nowhere to go and no way to get home. They said they called every room as the water flooded in but they didn't. They just let the water come in and didn't go door to door to warn people. That's all it would've taken.

Staff was friendly. Plenty of parking...just be careful not to park in the low area that will flood if it rains a lot! Felt safe here. Facilities are a little older, but a good value for what you get and location.

Very, very clean room! Smelled great. Had a cologne/perfume type scent in the room. Didnt smell musty or like your typical ran down motels/hotels that smell like a cigarette ashtray.

Hotel shares parking lot with Trader Joes and many other shops. Bus to City is at the curb. Very convenient location. I would stay there again. Edgewater is a nice area. Hotel has black mold though and sometimes smelled of cigarettes or weed. Staff handled a noisy person well. Staff were very good

The property provided pretty basic accommodations with a free breakfast. Great view of the New York Skyline from my room. Close to Trader Joe's and a great coffee place. I had only one complaint, the room had smoke ordors that lingered even after staff tried to clean it with some type of machine.

Room had insects small roaches and mold in the windows and walls. reported to the front desk and ask me to call my third party. I had a meeting early in the morning on Saturday so did not had a chance to contact expedia. Did take pictures of mold and roaches

There was cigarette smoke smell throughout the hallway which seeped into the room and remained there all night. The smell was just slightly stronger then the hotel smell which was of a very strong flowery perfume (probably carpet powder). In addition, there was no juice in the continental breakfast or water.

The hotel is located in a very convenient location if visiting NYC and want to avoid some traffic and the day to day busyness. The hotel is very outdated, with a musty smell. Additionally bathrooms are rusty. Instead of pillows they offer cushions. Rooms are small. Another perk is parking at no extra cost.

The room was not cleaned when we checked in, we found a brush in the corner of the room and also a piece of nail underneath of bed table…The conditioner smelled bad…The sheets were not completely clean…we spoke to the reception and also manager for changing the room but they said they are going to deep clean the room which should happened before we check in… anyway this hotel changed our mind about comfort inn hotels… we had different experiences in the other locations…. The only thing that we like was that it had free parking…

Very convenient to the NJ Turnpike and access to NYC. Lots of shops and restaurants within walking distance. Accomodations were great-stayed in a long room with balcony and enjoyed the river view. Would definitely stay here again!

We stayed at the hotel for our Manhattan visit over the holidays. For the price we paid, it was well-worth it especially compared to prices they were charging across the river. I would stay there again. We were comfortable and the room (105) was clean, spacious, warm. The view along the river was stunning. Nice walking path. The only real complain we have is that the walls are paper thin. We could hear entire conversations of people next door. Bring ear plugs if you need a good night's sleep.

Clean nice room, beds were comfy, staff was friendly and great. You are literally on the banks of the Hudson River, you walk a few steps and you can sit by the water and enjoy the views of the city. Highly recommend.

Breakfast area was very small, first morning they ran out of everything at 9:30. It was very crowded and just poorly designed. They have these scent boxes in the hallways that diffuse the STRONGEST scents (not bad but tooooo strong) if you are sensitive to smells stay far away from this hotel. The pillows on the bed are essentially throw pillows and not a normal size your sleep on? I was so confused and when asked about it the front desk attendant said we weren’t the first to ask about that but there was nothing they could do.

I felt funny when I entered my room on the ground floor. It felt like I was on a rocking boat and I was walking slanted. It turns out my room's floor is not flat and is slanted to one side. Same with the bathroom. At first I thought I was tired from driving for 14 hours but after a good night sleep, the room still felt slanted - slightly. I got used to it on the 3rd day but it just felt weird living in a slanted hotel room. The room also smell like old carpet but it is still not as bad as a slanted room.

I booked a room with a river view but was given a view of the parking lot. I went to the front desk and she told me that’s what I booked. The picture on your sight was a view of the water. The front desk made me pay extra money to change my room to a view of the water. That is what I paid for already. Won’t come here again ever.

Absolutely horrible, I have never had a hotel experience like this Check in took 25 minutes although I had already paid and was given attitude. The woman gave us our keys and immediately walked away didn’t even tell us to enjoy our stay. The toilet was messed up and did not flush properly.

As an avid traveler, I greatly value convenience, local insight, and hospitality. This property is ideally situated near excellent dining options and a phenomenal spa, making it a promising choice for both relaxation and exploration. While the staff were friendly and welcoming, I was disappointed by their lack of knowledge about the surrounding area. Upon check-in, I inquired about the restaurant located within the plaza. Not only was the staff member unfamiliar with the name, but he was also unable to recommend a single dining option nearby. While I can understand not recalling the exact name of a specific establishment, being entirely unaware of the local dining scene is, in my opinion, unacceptable—especially in such a well-positioned location. A more informed front desk team would significantly enhance the guest experience, particularly for those of us who enjoy discovering local gems during our stay.

Front desk Was really well done. Neo was fantastic and really provided excellent service. Sliding door was open so a little Concerned but locked it and no issues. It is on the Hudson so if you get a River view it is really beautiful. Good restaurant near by.

More of a motel or inn feel, they try and make money on every turn. I’m an athlete so I had my aluminum canister for water to fill up and they tried to charge me an up charge. I told them the floor boards are tilted and uneven (structural damage) they claimed it’s the carpets. I asked if I could switch to a room that doesn’t have such structural problems, they said that would be an up charge. I don’t know how it’s rated in the 8’s on Google should be in the 5’s or 6’s

There is exactly nothing negative about this hotel that i can say! Perfect amount of towels, beds comfortable, seperate bathroom spacious and even front desk staff was extremely nice!

they charge you for damaging the furniture that u didnt even do. my guest was pastor. i have known him about 20years. I never seen him smoke or possess any lighter. comfort inn told me on pastor’s room, he damaged the furniture with lighter and cigarette, so they charge me $500 on my credit card. plz do not book here they ripped you off.

Good hotel an quiet area. Public transport drops you off close by but there is no sidewalk for pedestrians. Be careful with the cars, they pass close to you.

Clean nice room, beds were comfy, staff was friendly and great. You are literally on the banks of the Hudson River, you walk a few steps and you can sit by the water and enjoy the views of the city. Highly recommend.

The hotel was fine; however the milage to Columbia University was terribly misleading on Expedia, as the distance was "as the crow flies" rather than what it actually took in Uber rides. Other than a riverwalk, there was nothing to do near the hotel.

The hotel itself is lovely, staff is very friendly, and it’s pretty clean. The river view is quite lovely and it’s very quiet neighborhood. Other than the hotel it is located in a very convenient location, walking distance from some amazing places like SoJo Spa Club (so worth it go visit!!), Brownstone Pancake Factory (creative food and friendly staff), Sushi Cruise (the best sushi I have ever had, get the lobster tempura special roll) and other stores for convenience like Trader Joe’s, Jersey Mike’s, liquor store, Marshall’s, TJ Maxx, etc. There are some nice restaurants, clubs, bars and even a karaoke place, 5 min driving distance. There is even a walkway where you can just walk along the river and sit. Very lovely hotel and even better location. I 100% recommend, my husband and I enjoyed our honeymoon here!

Disappointing Stay, Especially the "Free Breakfast" I don’t usually leave reviews, but I felt compelled after my stay here. The room was average at best, but the biggest letdown was the so-called free breakfast. Don’t be fooled—if you’re not down there by 8:30, you’re basically out of luck.

I arrived after 12midnight exhausted so appreciated the comfortable bed with great pillows.My room was also very quiet which I hoped it would be. I found the continental breakfast lacking compared to many other hotels I have visited. For example Embassy Suites includes real oatmeal. fresh fruit, real scrambled eggs, among other healthy options. I could not find anything I considered healthy to eat this morning at the Comfort in in Edgewater,NJ. Plus the plastic forks were so fragile the tines broke off with use. Both the night person and the one this morning were very pleasant to deal with.

Breakfast area was very small, first morning they ran out of everything at 9:30. It was very crowded and just poorly designed. They have these scent boxes in the hallways that diffuse the STRONGEST scents (not bad but tooooo strong) if you are sensitive to smells stay far away from this hotel. The pillows on the bed are essentially throw pillows and not a normal size your sleep on? I was so confused and when asked about it the front desk attendant said we weren’t the first to ask about that but there was nothing they could do.

The room lacked basic amenities like water bottles, toothpaste, and slippers, and the front desk couldn’t provide them upon request. The breakfast area was not clean, and the food options were very limited. While the front desk was responsive, the staff didn’t seem particularly warm or caring. We loved our stay there and will definitely book again. It’s a very convenient hotel that is very close to Sojo Spa, nice restaurant options and New York. The room was very clean, quiet and the riverfront balcony views were a nice vibe for a great price. Staff are friendly and very accommodating to guests. The breakfast was plentiful with many options and the property is well maintained. A hidden gem.

Our family of four stayed at this hotel for two nights. The hotel offers free parking and complimentary breakfast, which are certainly plus points. However, the experience was soured right from the start by the surly staff member who checked us in—someone who seemed completely indifferent, as if they were being forced to work there. The room had a truly foul stench. We tried sleeping with the windows open—though they barely opened—but it was no use; the smell wouldn't go away. There is a tiny breakfast area that seems to exist merely for the sake of having one. We used the hotel's luggage cart upon arrival, but there was a raised threshold at the entrance, making it a struggle to get the cart inside. It was an unpleasant trip, and I was not satisfied. I simply cannot understand how no manager or staff member noticed that awful smell in the room.

The room was clean other than I did see a few ants throughout our 3 days there. As always, the towels were thin and small but that is any hotel. (I really think hotels need to start providing bigger towels!) There was shampoo and conditioner and lotion provided but no body wash which is odd but not a big deal. The breakfast was great! Cold and hot food, a waffle maker, yogurt, fruit, baked goods, eggs, potatoes. A really great spread especially considering it’s included! The only thing is I thought the coffee was terrible. Staff was friendly though we didn’t have a reason to interact with them other than check in and check out. Cannot beat the location if you are wanting to go to NYC! Awesome views across the river and easy walk to the ferry or the bus picks you up right at the top of the road. Would definitely stay here again!
