We truly enjoyed our stay at The Sea Lord. Amazing staff and the location can’t be beat. For those looking to book and want to stay on the beach most days. There is a charge of $10.00 a day for the lounge chairs and $20.00 a day for the umbrella. We can not wait to plan our trip again.

I have stayed at the Sea Lord in the past and always a great place...quiet, relaxing, nice beach with chairs for rent. Staff is friendly! Very nice place!

Little things like trash lid didn’t work, USB in night stand didn’t work, TV and safe had to be fixed (somewhat responsive in resolving), $10/day for a beach chair and $20 for umbrella were why I reared it lower. Overall the staff was great and the location as well.

We were panicked and running from Hurricane Milton when we found a room at the Sea Lord. Richard, Tatiana and the rest of the staff of this hotel are amazing. They were currently undergoing a major renovation, but knowing the residents of SW Florida needed someplace to go, they opened rooms up that might not otherwise have been ready to rent. I absolutely applaud them for that! Every hotel we saw was under some kind of renovation or another, this is off-season, and that's the time they have to do it. Was the pool under construction, yes - who cares - there is a gorgeous beach and beautiful ocean right out your back door! We know they were understaffed, but we would not have noticed. They did anything we needed to make our stay as comfortable as possible. We live on the coast, so going to the East coast would probably not have been a thought for us as a getaway, but it will be in the future, and it will be at the Sea Lord. It was outstanding!

While the staff were accommodating and gave great service, the hotel is under construction, noisy and has inadequate parking. The hotel is convenient for night life and dining. The pool is closed and under construction.

This property is in a good location in Lauderdale by the Seas which is on the beach and walkable to Commercial Blvd where there is activity. The resort is quiet since it is an adults only facility. While housekeeping did a good job in making the beds, cleaning up the bathroom and providing toiletries, the floors were not swept daily where you felt the grit on the bottom of your feet. Beach lounge chairs, though available, were quoted as $10 daily. I would suggest you keep track of any additional expenses that you may not expect. Other than this I would rate this facility a 4 out of 5.

Staff was friendly, courteous and helpful. Facilities were clean and quite nice. The place is on the beach and access is quick and convenient. Our room left something to be desired, as it was on the second floor looking at nothing but the wall of an outdoor patio. There was also no privacy to be had, as patrons would walk by the room's large window that was bisected by a large beam which didn't allow for the curtains to close the entire way. Very strange. The room appeared to be a segment of a larger suite. There was a section with clothes hangers but no closet. It felt like we were in the worst or one of the worst rooms in the place, and any requests for a change were met with exorbitant price hikes. I would recommend requesting a room on a higher floor. I'm sure that the rooms with ocean views are considerably nicer and roomier. but you will pay handsomely for the privilege. Parking is available but some of the spots can be a bit tight and the lot is small, so maneuvering can be a bit tricky. Finally, you can reserve lounge chairs for the beach at a cost of $10 per person per day. You might think that such items would be complimentary in a place that's on the beach and which charges a hefty sum for the stay. Paying extra for chairs? I don't think so.

Good news: the property is on the beach. The bed was comfortable. The staff was very nice. Bad news: the room looked right out of the 1970’s. The bar was not open on either evening I was there.

Hotel was beautiful and staff was very friendly. The ocean was steps behind the pool. Only wish the restaurant and the poolside bar was open, otherwise it would’ve been a perfect trip. We do plan on returning here to stay in the near future and hopefully enjoy a dinner in the beautiful dining room!

We absolutely loved this property! The view from our room was second to none. We could watch the sunrise every morning from our bed or balcony. The staff was amazing. So friendly, and they would go above and beyond with any of our requests! The maid service everyday was wonderful! The facility has a laundry room which was super handy, but bring quarters because the property doesn’t have much cash on hand as they are mainly a card only facility. With that being said, Tatiana helped us rummage up the quarters we were short. Just one example of the staff going above and beyond to help! There were chairs $10 a day and umbrellas $20 a day that the staff would set up for you. Totally worth it in our opinion. One thing to note - if you plan on cooking meals in your room, there are a few pots and pans and enough dishes for two people. You may have to pick up extras such as salt and pepper and oil and paper towels for cooking an easy cleanup as those weren’t available in room. It did not distract from the awesomeness of this place, but I thought I would mention it so you could be prepared. It was only a short walk to Lauderdale by the sea with food/drink atmosphere. I didn’t realize how lovely Lauderdale by the Sea was. It was just our speed.

The entire property was spotless and our room had a beautiful view of the ocean. We had the pleasure of a delicious dinner prepared by the owner. All of the staff went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect. Can't wait until we can return!

I loved the location. But unfortunately the floor in my room was extremely dirty and when I first walked into my room it was extremely hot and muggy. I had to crank the AC for the entire first night I was there just to get the temperature up to where it was bearable.

This property is very clean and the staff is down to earth and very accommodating. It's right on the ocean and yet you are in walking distance to all the local hangouts. Highly recommend.

Old property and rooms reflect that. Front desk employee extremely sweet and accommodating. We stayed in a standard room no view. The mattress was a bit noisy and soft. Should be replaced. No venting fan in bathroom and presented the room as stale and bit musty. Access to beach is great and very nice beach.

As noted by other travellers this building is old and unfortunately has a serious issues with musty odors amd molds which the owner and staff do their best to mask with the use of Febreeze, in-wall scent plug-ins, bleach etc. The overwhelming odour of the perfumes when you first walk in is the first clue. It sadly doesn’t get better from there on. I have visited 3 different rooms and all were terribly musty smelling. The ones with sofas in it smelled of mould. My partner is extremely allergic to mould and left the room at 11pm the night we checked in to sleep elsewhere. I stayed until morning to try to air out the space but ultimately left at 8am as I too was feeling unwell. The views are the best. The staff is so nice but seems to have many roles. The lady who checked us in was also our waitress and helped the chef prepare food in the kitchen. The food was delicious but in the end had to leave due to health symptoms and honest concerns about mould. Their reply after bringing up my concerns was: there can’t be mould or must because the room was remodelled which should give potential new clients even more reason to be concerned. Beautiful, great staff but sick building which no amount of cleaning products can fix.

After a long trip to get to this hotel we were very disappointed that the restaurant that was advertised as being open for all meals was completely closed so no food at all. Was told the restaurant was not open because the owner was not there, strange. That was our first disappointment. When entering our room the first thing we discovered was a dirty rag in the sheets which I took to the front desk. This female staff member was very apologetic about this. On the last morning the toilet would not work after several tries, so final straw. We were so disappointed we decided to leave a day early but we could not inform anyone because there are no staff members on duty at night or early in the morning when we attempted to checkout. When trying to call front desk a security guard answered but said there was nothing he could do and that someone would be in at 8am. Went to the front desk at 7:45am While there waiting there was another guest that was disappointed and also attempting to check early. We waited until 8:10 and no front desk person showed up We left a note at the front desk that we were leaving and to please credit our room for that day and to call us to confirm. A male staff member did call and said it should be no problem but he had to ok it with a manager and would call back. When he called again he said they would not credit the room back to us and they had checked and the toilet was fine, very strange.

owners were staying at the property at the time of our visit. Extremely loud in restaurant at their table which made it quite unpleasant. Also noise from the room adjacent to our room was disruptive.

We absolutely loved our stay at The Sea Lord. Staff was friendly and helpful and room was spacious and clean with beautiful views of the ocean. An easy walk to restaurant and shops. We will definitely stay here again.

It’s a great location and a cool older hotel. The air conditioner in my room was not good. I called to ask about it and the owner told me all the reasons I wasn’t hot. How does he know what I like. He was arrogant and condescending. The price is good but for a few dollars more you can stay cool and not be berated.

Great stay, location, view, staff. AC and thermostat appear to be very old and possibly not functioning properly. Room was hot despite max AC (ok at night, hot during day). I notified front desk at checkout and she said she would inform maintenance.

Amazing! The hotel is pristine inside and out. It’s Grecian style with beautiful architecture. The cleanliness is impeccable. The outside path to the beach isn’t even sandy. The attention to detail is beyond belief. With the bar and restaurant onsite, you’d never have to leave. Our room was the size of an apartment. It included a full kitchen with all the essentials (even a cork screw), walk in closet with hangers that included a lighted vanity. They towels are thick and fluffy. We enjoyed the bathrobes after a hot shower. The bed was comfy. We slept like babies. The balcony offers 2 chairs and a small table. The oceanfront views are gorgeous and we love hearing the sound of the waves. The owner and staff go above and beyond. They definitely know how to exceed expectations. They ensure you have the best experiences possible. They are professional, polite, and very accommodating. Beach chairs and umbrellas can be requested. Beach towels are provided. There is an outside shower station to rinse off the sand after being at the beach or walking in the sand. The pool is heated and the temperature is great The location is perfect. You don’t even need a car. If you choose to explore, it’s maybe a 3 minute walk to restaurants and shops. There are sidewalks so no walking on the road. We had the best time and plan to return soon!

Excellent stay at The Sea Lord Hotel & Suites. Room was very nice, clean and comfortable. GREAT location and beach area. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay a good one. They were very accommodating for our check in an check out requests. This was our first stay here and we'll be back annually.

This is truly a hidden GEM absolutely amazing! I couldn’t be happier with the service and personal chef experience. The room was absolutely perfect with a beautiful ocean view and balcony. The areas is perfect with amazing restaurants and night life! The ladies at the front desk are very sweet, knowledgeable about the area, helpful in each and every way! The ladies and gentleman helped my boyfriend plan a romantic candle light dinner for my birthday!! by the pool right in front of the ocean, took pictures and provided an absolutely once in a lifetime experience that had me in tears❤️ the personal chef was amazing! Along with the service from Tatiana was the best experience you could ever dream! The private beach area and pool side very quiet and calm! Adults only! Very nice guests as well! Housekeeping was fabulous!! We will be back very soon!

We absolutely loved The Sea Lord Hotel. We booked the hotel literally as we landed in Fort Lauderdale. Upon our arrival Tatiana checked us in. Her friendliness and service was superb. The staff was amazing. The hotel has a really great pool and then access to the beach. You can rent umbrellas and beach chairs from the hotel at a pretty reasonable price. We did eat at the restaurant at the hotel. We paid over a hundred bucks for wings (6 count), burger with fries, a turkey sandwich with chips and 2 drinks. Gratuity was included for our party of 2. I have worked in the service industry before, but the service was slow and I would of gone elsewhere. We waited over 20 minutes for our cocktails to be served. For next time I would walk down the street 3 blocks and eat at one of the restaurants. Overall a great short stay. Would definitely stay here again.

Very nice adult only stay. Tatiana is the best staff they have, and very attentive. I hope she is well appreciated. The owner needs to stop accosting people for not directly booking. Or telling staff to tell customers at checkin. It put off another couple from staying again. It was worded to us eloquently as possible but should be mentioned for "next time." We had a one bedroom suite with a beautiful ocean view. While the hotel isnt new, the rooms are nice. Things dont need to be new. The only downpoint we had was the food. We had lunch and it was very pricey, and lack lustre. Our seafood was very overcooked and very chewy. $16 for 3 small chicken fingers. I would order in uber eats or takeout rather then dine in for lunch. We did not try the dinner or breakfast. There is a small reef you can snorkel. Lots of shells on beach. You rent chairs and umbrellas, it's a fair price and they set up for you. The pool is 8 feet deep and very relaxing. We would stay again.

I was excited for a solo trip to Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, and this “adults only” hotel seemed like a great option. The grounds and beach (although not private, as indicated on the website- the hotel rented out chairs to non guests) were beautiful. Lobby area was clean. Within close walking distance to the center of town. However, the rooms could use some serious updating. Shower was not as pictured online, only one outlet worked (besides the one for the microwave), refrigerator froze all of my items. Also, I had to visit the front desk 5 times within 24 hours because my key card was not working (no, it wasn’t near any electronic devices). Staff finally sent an employee up to my room with me who opened my door, stepped inside uninvited, and joked about propping my door open if I ever needed to leave. He ended up returning, came inside my room uninvited again, and gave me a “special” key which I later found out is a master key for all of the rooms. I returned it to another man who came to look at my door lock later that night. Staff offered me a free drink at the bar as compensation, which I did not take advantage of. All in all, it was an extremely uncomfortable experience as a woman traveling alone. I ended up leaving a day early and reached out to the hotel via email. After an initial response, they never followed up with a phone call. I understand that everyone is doing their best to get by these days, but I will not be staying here again.

After a long trip to get to this hotel we were very disappointed that the restaurant that was advertised as being open for all meals was completely closed so no food at all. Was told the restaurant was not open because the owner was not there, strange. That was our first disappointment. When entering our room the first thing we discovered was a dirty rag in the sheets which I took to the front desk. This female staff member was very apologetic about this. On the last morning the toilet would not work after several tries, so final straw. We were so disappointed we decided to leave a day early but we could not inform anyone because there are no staff members on duty at night or early in the morning when we attempted to checkout. When trying to call front desk a security guard answered but said there was nothing he could do and that someone would be in at 8am. Went to the front desk at 7:45am While there waiting there was another guest that was disappointed and also attempting to check early. We waited until 8:10 and no front desk person showed up We left a note at the front desk that we were leaving and to please credit our room for that day and to call us to confirm. A male staff member did call and said it should be no problem but he had to ok it with a manager and would call back. When he called again he said they would not credit the room back to us and they had checked and the toilet was fine, very strange.

Everything is perfect at the Sea Lord Hotel. A modern Hotel Lobby with Ocean Front rooms. This hotel has a private beach on the ocean, a beautiful pool, a bar/restaurant and great service. All this and it’s located within walking distance to many businesses such as Bars and Restaurants. There’s even a small golf cart type battery operated car service vehicle which you can utilize. Download the “ride circuit” app to take advantage of the service. I highly recommend the “Sea Lord Hotel” located in beautiful “Lauderdale-by-the-Sea.

I loved the serenity of this property. Very quiet and relaxing. I liked that it’s a small hotel so no crowds no need to rush to grab a beach chair before everyone. It sits right on the beach! Just a 5 minute walk to area with multiple restaurants and nightlife if you wish.

Another excellent start at the Sea Lord. The hotel is so welcoming and quiet with a lovely pool and beach area. Staff go above an beyond and beds are very comfortable! The hotel is a short walk from bars and restaurants (less than 10 mins), has parking and is a great place to relax in peace and quiet.

We absolutely loved The Sea Lord Hotel. We booked the hotel literally as we landed in Fort Lauderdale. Upon our arrival Tatiana checked us in. Her friendliness and service was superb. The staff was amazing. The hotel has a really great pool and then access to the beach. You can rent umbrellas and beach chairs from the hotel at a pretty reasonable price. We did eat at the restaurant at the hotel. We paid over a hundred bucks for wings (6 count), burger with fries, a turkey sandwich with chips and 2 drinks. Gratuity was included for our party of 2. I have worked in the service industry before, but the service was slow and I would of gone elsewhere. We waited over 20 minutes for our cocktails to be served. For next time I would walk down the street 3 blocks and eat at one of the restaurants. Overall a great short stay. Would definitely stay here again.

Hotel was beautiful and staff was very friendly. The ocean was steps behind the pool. Only wish the restaurant and the poolside bar was open, otherwise it would’ve been a perfect trip. We do plan on returning here to stay in the near future and hopefully enjoy a dinner in the beautiful dining room!

Very nice adult only stay. Tatiana is the best staff they have, and very attentive. I hope she is well appreciated. The owner needs to stop accosting people for not directly booking. Or telling staff to tell customers at checkin. It put off another couple from staying again. It was worded to us eloquently as possible but should be mentioned for "next time." We had a one bedroom suite with a beautiful ocean view. While the hotel isnt new, the rooms are nice. Things dont need to be new. The only downpoint we had was the food. We had lunch and it was very pricey, and lack lustre. Our seafood was very overcooked and very chewy. $16 for 3 small chicken fingers. I would order in uber eats or takeout rather then dine in for lunch. We did not try the dinner or breakfast. There is a small reef you can snorkel. Lots of shells on beach. You rent chairs and umbrellas, it's a fair price and they set up for you. The pool is 8 feet deep and very relaxing. We would stay again.

Small room old bathroom with poor water pressure. Mattress smaller than the bed base kept moving. Wooden sunbed with no mattress very hard and uncomfortable. Charge for sun-bed on beach for guests not exceptable. Food on offer unpredictable.

After a long trip to get to this hotel we were very disappointed that the restaurant that was advertised as being open for all meals was completely closed so no food at all. Was told the restaurant was not open because the owner was not there, strange. That was our first disappointment. When entering our room the first thing we discovered was a dirty rag in the sheets which I took to the front desk. This female staff member was very apologetic about this. On the last morning the toilet would not work after several tries, so final straw. We were so disappointed we decided to leave a day early but we could not inform anyone because there are no staff members on duty at night or early in the morning when we attempted to checkout. When trying to call front desk a security guard answered but said there was nothing he could do and that someone would be in at 8am. Went to the front desk at 7:45am While there waiting there was another guest that was disappointed and also attempting to check early. We waited until 8:10 and no front desk person showed up We left a note at the front desk that we were leaving and to please credit our room for that day and to call us to confirm. A male staff member did call and said it should be no problem but he had to ok it with a manager and would call back. When he called again he said they would not credit the room back to us and they had checked and the toilet was fine, very strange.

I will definitely be back to stay at sea lord hotel. The hospitality was above and beyond, the owner and chef Richard and staff member Marco as well as everyone I interacted with at the desk were both friendly, welcoming and incredibly accommodating. The rooms are gorgeous, the view is outstanding (beach view rooms), and the private beach and pool is both beautifully decorated and fantastic for a quiet getaway.Richard’s food is fantastic and you must try the Montenegrin wine! I was in Florida but it felt like I was in Europe. A wonderful oasis.

Wonderful hotel. Staff was so accommodating and friendly. Food was fantastic. Beach outside pool, we had a patio. Just a wonderful place and wonderful hotel. Highly recommend.

Can't beat this place. If you want an excellent adults only vacation this is it. Wish I could put into words how much we enjoyed this place. Cleanliness, view, amenities, all first class. Staff was exceptional, Sarah was the epitome of customer service. Already planning a return to the Sealord.

The hotel was nice and well located. Room was clean and comfortable. During our stay, the staff was unable (unwilling??) to make room keys. This required that we had to be escorted into our room every time we returned by the front desk staff. This was very off-putting.

I booked this as a solo staycation and was disappointed. I was looking forward to relaxing in the hammocks and on a lounge chair at the pool, enjoying the pool bar, and along with the beach - based on the photos. Pros: The hotel is very close to the beach that was lovely. It was clean and the bed was comfortable. The view was amazing. The employees were polite. Parking was free. Location is nice, just a short walk to restaurants and stores. Cons - During check-in, I was told it was $10 each for beach chair and umbrella every day. Upon checkout, I was charged $30. They told me it was $20 for the 2 chairs and $10 for the umbrella. When I said it was just me, so it was only 1 chair, the price changed to $10 for the chair and $20 for the umbrella. There were no hammocks. The pool was fairly small and the deck was not large enough for lounge chairs. The pool bar was not open. I had to use my phone's hotspot to get Netflix to work on the TV because there was nobody available that first evening to fix their connection. The hotel is old. They have tried to maintain it pretty well, but there were many signs of wear and tear. Ants everywhere by the pool. I tried sitting on the edge of the pool to dangle my legs in since there weren't lounge chairs. That was short lived because of all the ants. There was seaweed, but that is to be expected this time of year. Just make sure you understand that. They did rake the beach daily to try to clean it. Just a disappointing stay.
