Restaurant food and service was excellent. Large menu and decent prices. The chicken pot pie (their specialty) was fantastic. Lots of chicken chunks and a delicious crust. However, the bar was a disappointment. They had 2 house wines, cabernet and chardonnay. We arrived Tuesday afternoon and my husband had the last glass of house cabernet. When we left on Thursday, still no cabernet. You would think a trip to the local liquor store would have solved the problem. Also no Aperol or Limoncello for spritzes. Which is odd because they are very popular drinks. Pool was closed 2 days for maintenance. Rooms were okay. Bed was comfortable. Room carpet was in need of cleaning. Premier Mt. Dora canal cruise leaves from dock at hotel property and is well worth taking.

The location is stellar if you’re wanting to be downtown Mount Dora. The free net desk staff was exceptional. It’s an historic inn & that brings some challenges. They had to change our room due to termite droppings on the bed. Upgraded U.S. immediately to a larger room with a view. Great. The sink took hours to drain and the water was lukewarm for a shower. All which I can deal with an older hotel. But what prompted me even writing this review was the experience I had with a gentleman from the restaurant who rudely told me I could not put the water in the lobby in my own water bottle because they were very busy and then he would need to refill the water dispenser. As a paying guest who was there to walk around the art festival in 80+ degree weather, this was the final insult.

It's an extremely convenient place if your looking to walk to the shops. Just know that this place is old and bathroom faucets are old along with it and can be tricky to use.

The room was clean, with a great bed and a great view. There was coffee in the lobby and breakfast from 8- 10 a.m., with a beautiful Plantation feel. I would recommend staying here to anyone. Pets welcome too.
