We loved our stay at Karen’s cabin. It was very beautiful and perfect location right on the water. Beds are super comfortable, kitchen had everything we needed to cook with. The tv and pool table downstairs were perfect for watching movies and hanging out! We would definitely be back again!

Having a private dock was great but this dock was incredible. The house was very well laid out, well stocked, and the owners labeled mostly everything so that it was easy to find. The stairs where challenging (one of the guests counted 50 steps to the main entry) but the view and serenity made it worth it. Several more steps down to the dock but, again, worth it (just be prepared and have your fitness watch ready). Having access to the two car garage was also a plus.

Beautiful views plenty of room for family. Kitchen had everything we needed for dinners. The dock was amazing & perfect for our boat & seadoos. The rope was a bonus for jumping into the water, we caught fish & crawdads.

Beautiful property. Kids loved the pool table downstairs while watching the playoff game. Multiple levels which was nice. Kids could be noisier downstairs. Main level has bedrooms with doors to eliminate kitchen/Livingroom noise and top floor great for an entire family with the best lookout views. No complaints. Love how everything labeled, had no difficulty finding anything. Literally right on the lake. Felt like we were in a winter wonderland snow globe. I would re-book this. Only minor inconvenience was lots of steep stairs leading down to property. Wouldn’t have minded if I wasn’t still recovering from knee surgery. However, stairs were heated, safe and clear of snow.

We loved our stay- you can’t beat the location and the convenience of a private dock. There was more space than we needed for our family of four, which allowed us to spread out. The kitchen was stocked with all the supplies we needed, allowing us to eat our meals in, while enjoying the view. My kids loved the pool table too! Karen is an excellent host, communicating with us all along the way. We will be back!

Nice cabin feel, beautiful view, a very well stocked kitchen. Unfortunately it was too cold for us to use the impressive dock on the lake. The pictures accurately depict the stairs to the house.

Amazing location. Fully stocked kitchen. Extremely comfortable beds and bedding. Once the new dock is entirely finished it’s going to be amazing! We enjoyed it thoroughly. Karen was super responsive and helpful.

The establishment has three flights of stairs that must be navigated to obtain food and luggage. Construction was ongoing during the weekend, causing further inconvenience. Workers occupied parking spaces, and the lack of a dock was conspicuous. The prices are unreasonable, especially considering the outdated 70s interior. The building does not meet city code standards, making it a safety hazard. I cannot recommend this house despite the one free night I received.

Family stayed at this house over the weekend and we all had a blast! The views are incredible and the house is amazing! I give this rental a 10/10!From the fishing, jet skiing and family time. House provided board games in the pool table room. Plenty of space to sleep. Sheets and the entire house was very clean. Beds and showers and bathrooms were all very clean. Felt like we stayed at a 5-Star Casino. The Lake Dock was one of the best features and is top notch compared to other homes at Donner Lake. I recommend this place to any family and you wont regret the experience! Thank you Karen for the Hospitality and my family will definitely book another trip here.

We just arrived back home and are already looking forward to next time. Our family so enjoyed our stay this week that we have already booked this wonderful home for next summer! As everyone has already stated, absolutely every attention was paid to every detail. The cabin was spotless, everything was so well labeled, the beds were so comfortable, the kitchen well stocked and then there was the million dollar view! We all decided that we met our stair/steps requirements with a built in exercise program using the stairs to get to the street or down to the dock. Thank you to Karen, you were always available to meet all of our needs. sue and family

Our stay at Karen's home couldn't have been any better! No stone was unturned to make the experience seamless in every way. The home was clean, perfectly located on the lake, fully equipped and labeled, with outstanding communication and lots of room for entertaining. We all want to come back in the summer. Our Aussie friends even dipped into the lake for an invigorating swim! Thank you so much to Karen and her family for thinking of everything!

We absolutely loved our stay at this special property. Beautiful views, very comfortable, clean, kitchen had everything we needed and was well organized, many well thought out details, close to trails and beautiful walks by the lake. Lots of comfortable seating outside—the deck and watching sunsets by the dock were our favorite parts. Thank you!

Really lovely place for a group with an exceptional dock for easy access to the lake. Kitchen has all amenities that you would need to make every meal at home. Great communication with the hosts. I would rate the cleanliness as good instead of excellent; quite a few large spiderwebs, carpets with some staining, bath rugs well worn and bathtub that could a little TLC. However, with any vacation rental, I imagine it is hard to keep everything top-notch! Also bummed out that we couldn’t use the propane fireplace on the deck, that would have been good information to share in the listing. We had a lovely retreat at this lake house and would absolutely stay here again.

Karen was a delight to work with! The Kitchen is very well stocked, with lots of thought for making your vacation a success ! the beds and bedding first rate. The dock is comfortable, fun, and has shade almost all day long! Our issue was the cleaning , I think the crew rushed through. Home was well appointed with everything you could need for a comfortable stay. Kitchen was well equipped for cooking with all the necessary utensils and pots/pans, bakeware, dishes etc. Beds were comfortable with quality bedding/ pillows. We had a group of 8 and there are plenty of different areas to spread out so you don’t ever feel cramped. The view of the lake from the main living area and the dock are what really made this property special for us. Host was easy to contact and responsive to any questions we had.

We like to say that there is nothing better to spend your money on than family time together. We had a memorable summer week with our adult sons and partners on Donner Lake. Spending time on the dock at this property was a highlight. Waking up to the beautiful view of the lake, swimming and sporting on the water all day, ending the day with a sunset from the dock - that's a vacation day. The cabin is a short walk from the state park for easy trail and beach access. The 6 of us love to cook and the kitchen is well stocked. The cabin is so organized that it is easy to find what you are looking for. Very welcoming decor, comfortable beds and furnishings. Not stripped down and sterile feeling like some other rentals. Fun pool table and games for all the family. The host is very responsive to questions and cheerful to communicate with. Thank you for sharing your Donner Lake house!!

The property has stunning views, comfortable furnishings and everything needed for a relaxing stay. We stayed between seasons so we couldn’t take advantage of the many recreational advantages but the stay was comforting and gorgeous. The host, Karen went way beyond what was necessary to make sure our stay was everything we wished for. Appreciated her so much. Our only cautions are lots of steep stairs and firm beds (ok for us but some might not like.) We hope to return some day.

We like to say that there is nothing better to spend your money on than family time together. We had a memorable summer week with our adult sons and partners on Donner Lake. Spending time on the dock at this property was a highlight. Waking up to the beautiful view of the lake, swimming and sporting on the water all day, ending the day with a sunset from the dock - that's a vacation day. The cabin is a short walk from the state park for easy trail and beach access. The 6 of us love to cook and the kitchen is well stocked. The cabin is so organized that it is easy to find what you are looking for. Very welcoming decor, comfortable beds and furnishings. Not stripped down and sterile feeling like some other rentals. Fun pool table and games for all the family. The host is very responsive to questions and cheerful to communicate with. Thank you for sharing your Donner Lake house!!

Really lovely place for a group with an exceptional dock for easy access to the lake. Kitchen has all amenities that you would need to make every meal at home. Great communication with the hosts. I would rate the cleanliness as good instead of excellent; quite a few large spiderwebs, carpets with some staining, bath rugs well worn and bathtub that could a little TLC. However, with any vacation rental, I imagine it is hard to keep everything top-notch! Also bummed out that we couldn’t use the propane fireplace on the deck, that would have been good information to share in the listing. We had a lovely retreat at this lake house and would absolutely stay here again.

Amazing location. Fully stocked kitchen. Extremely comfortable beds and bedding. Once the new dock is entirely finished it’s going to be amazing! We enjoyed it thoroughly. Karen was super responsive and helpful.

The house was set up perfect for a couple of families. Plenty of space for everyone to relax. Beautiful view of the lake. We had a few questions Karen responded quickly and was a great host very helpful. Karen has everything in the house you need. We were there when it was snowing so we were able to enjoy everything covered in Snow White. We would love to come back in the summer.

Our family stayed at Karen’s cabin on Donner lake for a week this winter. We had a fabulous time. The location was ideal for multiple skiing, locations and close to Truckee. There are beautiful lake views on every floor. Karen has also thought of everything from kitchen utensils to games to luxurious linens and towels. It was super clean and incredibly comfortable. We all had a an amazing time and hope to experience Donner Lake at this house during the summer months. It’s paradise.

Beautiful views plenty of room for family. Kitchen had everything we needed for dinners. The dock was amazing & perfect for our boat & seadoos. The rope was a bonus for jumping into the water, we caught fish & crawdads.

Family stayed at this house over the weekend and we all had a blast! The views are incredible and the house is amazing! I give this rental a 10/10!From the fishing, jet skiing and family time. House provided board games in the pool table room. Plenty of space to sleep. Sheets and the entire house was very clean. Beds and showers and bathrooms were all very clean. Felt like we stayed at a 5-Star Casino. The Lake Dock was one of the best features and is top notch compared to other homes at Donner Lake. Home was well appointed with everything you could need for a comfortable stay. Kitchen was well equipped for cooking with all the necessary utensils and pots/pans, bakeware, dishes etc. Beds were comfortable with quality bedding/ pillows. We had a group of 8 and there are plenty of different areas to spread out so you don’t ever feel cramped. The view of the lake from the main living area and the dock are what really made this property special for us. Host was easy to contact and responsive to any questions we had.

Kitchen was well equipped for cooking with all the necessary utensils and pots/pans, bakeware, dishes etc. Beds were comfortable with quality bedding/ pillows. We loved our stay- you can’t beat the location and the convenience of a private dock. There was more space than we needed for our family of four, which allowed us to spread out. The kitchen was stocked with all the supplies we needed, allowing us to eat our meals in, while enjoying the view. My kids loved the pool table too! Karen is an excellent host, communicating with us all along the way. We will be back!

Nice cabin feel, beautiful view, a very well stocked kitchen. Unfortunately it was too cold for us to use the impressive dock on the lake. The pictures accurately depict the stairs to the house.

We loved this property! The owner was amazing - very organized and communicated everything we needed to know. The property itself was exactly what we wanted in a cabin on the lake. The dock was great to fish off of and we were able to use our own paddle board and kayak with ease. Our four kids loved the pool table and having their own space on the ground level. The views were amazing and the lake was beautiful and the perfect backdrop for morning coffee. We will definitely be back!
