SureStay Hotel by Best Western Sarasota Lido Beach

Booked a room suite with sofa bed for the family. When I arrived, the frontdesk staff had gave us a free upgrade with twin rooms which was an extra bonus. Hotel was clean, neat and extremely comfortable. Nice and immaculate pool for a relaxing end to the day. Excellent wi-fi network. Mattress is cozy and comfortable. Few steps away from the airport, free parking and a five minute drive to the beautiful lido key beach. A great location if visiting the amazing twin of Sarasota and Bradenton.

Nice budget hotel. I’m a trucker who likes to get out of my truck one weekend a month and this was a great place with truck parking next store at the Good will. We were able to go to the beach near by and have fun shopping. The dining options were awesome too. They have a pool now which was a nice bonus that was unexpected because it says no pool online.

This property is rated much higher than it deserves. It is located on a very busy, noisy, road where the noise goes right through the walls. The noise from the upstairs renter was hip-hop music that went late into the night. The internet, amazingly, didn't work after repeated visits to the office to complain. It never did work. Neither did the telephone to the office. It was completely dead. The tub needed a good cleaning, and a stopper, as did the sink. I would never stay at this property again, even though the owner at check-in asked us to give him a "five star" review if we were happy with our stay.

Say there’s a vending machine but most the drinks are sold out and this was during our 3 day stay and they were always sold out of water. cockroaches, very loud noise from other departments

Property is very old and it appears that few, if any, upgrades have been done. Room had a sour smell. A/C unit kept kicking off. One wall had no power to the outlets and lamp. Extremely overpriced for that quality of room.

Staff was very friendly...check in was easy. Room was clean..pool was clean ..over all was a great stay and very close to every thing. Sarasota jungle gardens was pretty much across the Street.

The people at the front desk where great they really made the stay great for me and my crew of guys let us go in the pool after hours very acomidating for a big group would definitely book again

I liked that the staff REALLY tries to make this a great hotel. They are very professional and care.The room is clean. The beds are comfortable. There is a refrigerator and microwave in the room. Coffee maker in room. The fact is that the rugs are old and stinky, the bed linens are cheap and worn, and the room smells like pot. The pool is not heated.

We stayed for just one night because we wanted another beach day but the conditions are not the best. Room was kinda dirty with a dead lizard and roach, bathroom corner were dirty as well, the smell wasn’t like a fresh clean, room is dark. As soon my kids woke up we did the check out early morning.

Manager Patel was helpful but the first room I was given had a bed made with obviously dirty sheets that smelled like sour & sweat. The second room I was given I only killed one roach so I consider that a success.

This is the filthiest room I have ever seen - I believe it to be hourly for miscreants/you know what am saying, because makes up on sheets, someone’s clothes left behind. If I could have slept standing up I would have. Disgusting sheets, German cockroaches, dirty sheets/blanket… you should feel ashamed posting ‘WONDERFUL’ as your review. You should be fined and removed from your partnership with Expedia Hotels. I left VERY EARLY in them morning every though I had another night. Not disappointed - DISGUSTED 💯

Room smells. The shower from the floor above leaked onto my toilet seat. A few bugs were moving under the sink.

The staff couldn't have been nicer and our room was clean, but this is $100/night kind of property. It is the most basic of motels, with absolutely no frills. I'm OK with that, but the amount we paid to stay there was 2.5 times more what we should have paid for what we got. It is nothing the staff did wrong, but I feel that I was misled online as to what kind of property I was booking.

The place was nice enough - clean, comfortable bed. It sits on a very busy street; however, I figured out how to manuever around. It's not fancy, but provided what I needed.

It was quiet. Bed felt great and shower worked very well. I was actually impressed for $100 room! Thank you! I would definitely stay again!

The hotel is on the older side and could use some updating. I was put on the second floor of the 2 story building and swear the building bounced when I moved across the floor

On January 25, 2024, we checked into the Best Western SureStay in Sarasota-Lido Beach after making a reservation through Expedia. I chose this hotel because it was affiliated with Best Western. I was in the hotel industry for 45 years and managed several Best Western Hotels. I was always impressed with Best Western’s quality and rigid standards. This was one of the worst hotel rooms I have ever seen. Best Western should be ashamed to allow its name on this dump. Expedia should be ashamed to accept reservations for it. After moving our bags into the room and unpacking, we realized that the room was filthy and smelled strongly of cigarette smoke. We left the door open to let in some fresh air, but after a while we noticed some rather unsavory-looking characters in front of our door. We were forced to close the door. After about an hour, I was having difficulty breathing and decided that we could not stay in this room. It was so bad that I decided to take photographs. We packed our bags and left. I went to the desk to inform the staff that, because of the smelly, dirty room, we would not be staying. The owner/manager came out and refused to refund our room charge. I told him we would take it up with Expedia. We left and checked into a Hilton across the street. Here are the problems I encountered with this room: The smell of cigarette smoke was overwhelming. There were burn holes in the bedspread. The sheets were old, worn and damaged. The deadbolt lock did not work and the door

I wasn’t allowed to check in and was never communicated to me that there was no room for me. Had to book another hotel late min.

The hotel was acceptable however the roof was being replaced during my stay and I was not informed by staff. I was woken up each morning to the noise with the worst being on Monday morning. I called the front desk as well as sent a message. The front desk did not offer any compensation for the issue. I still have not heard from the message I sent through the hotels.com help link. I ran into another group of people who were staying at the hotel and they were offered $50 for the inconvenience. I have yet to hear anything but the cost of the night was over double that.

We just needed a place to sleep that was close to the attractions we were visiting. This location was very convenient. This is an older building and, although our receptionist was delightful, the room assigned to us was not ready. We were moved to another room that smelled of smoke. It was ok but not an outstanding visit.

Very average and acceptable for the price, but definitely nowhere close to Lido Beach - highly misleading

Sad to say the room was filthy. Dropped a damp face cloth on the floor and picked it up to see mud. Travel paint crew staying there decided to have a rousing soccer game right outside my door. Breakfast milk was off.

I provided this rating as I was misguided by the reviews, this hotel in the outside appeared to be kept up and maintained which was totally not what was expected. I was there for business and as a last minute found this hotel as the only available in the area. At night I experienced baby roaches crawling on the wall and floor. The door frame also was damaged and this was concerning as the chain lock came off and I provided the frame and lock to the cleaning lady. I am sure this was there before and was just not addressed. The breakfast was nothing to brag about as I did not eat it. The rates were high considering this was Spring Break and not too many available rooms at short notice. This was a 1st and last at this location.

It was a great location for an interview I had. The bed was comfortable and the continental breakfast was a good morning start. I had an issue with smelling smoke from another room and I was in a non smoking room. Also, the shower was lukewarm and I couldn’t get hot water at all. The small fridge was a nice size and the tv had good channels. It was good for a 2 day stay.
