The hotel looks pretty sad from the outside. Exterior lights blinking, no windows on the entry side of the units. The units however are very nice the bathrooms are updated and the beds are comfortable albiet small.

I have stayed at the Econolodge on Apalachee Parkway several times due to its convenient location for work and nearby restaurants and parks. However, my recent stay during Hurricane Helen was a major disappointment. Despite the motel advertising that it had a generator, I learned upon check-in that this was not the case. Additionally, I was surprised to find that an extra $50 was held for each room as a deposit, even though I had already paid for the rooms through Expedia. While the motel was packed and there was minimal noise, we were fortunate to avoid power outages as Hurricane Helen passed over our area with minimal damage. However, the lack of a generator was a significant oversight, especially given the circumstances. The rooms themselves also require more investment. The bathroom lights and exhaust fan buzzed loudly, forcing me to turn them off completely. The bathroom drawers were not installed properly, and only one of the two rooms had a coffee maker. Due to these issues, I will not be booking this motel again for emergency situations like hurricanes. I hope that the management will take these concerns into consideration and make the necessary improvements to provide a better experience for future guests.

You cant beat this price. The room is big and just has that old time nastlga feel when you go into the room with wood ceilings and a updated bathroom. Rooms were very quite and you park right in front of your room unless you are on the second floor.

The parking entrance/exits are so steep one can rip the under carriage of their car out if they aren't careful and going 5MPH inching forward on an angle. It was $280 for one night, the towels are pathetically thin, the floor in the bathroom was dirty, the ancient soda machine only takes coins, no breakfast, and the traffic noise is significant. On Hotels.com, this hotel advertises pricing at $50 per night. That is about what it's worth, but not what it was priced at 11/14/2025. Grossly overpriced for what it is, even with the reno and a fresh paint job. NEVER AGAIN.

Older hotel in a convenient location. Room was spacious and very clean. The bed was firmer than my liking, but in excellent condition. Plenty of parking and easy to get in and out of. It was a FSU game weekend, we paid a premium on the rooms, so the value wasn’t there, but that’s capitalism.

The interior of the rooms is much nicer than the 1960s motel look of the exterior. It is quite clean, although we did encounter 1 cockroach in the bathroom one night. The staff is polite and the location is very near the Capitol, downtown, and not far from the universities.

The gentleman that checked us in was the owner. He was very nice and supplied whatever we needed. It was very dirty on the outside some what nasty looking. The recliner and desk chair was in very bad shape. So bad that we did not even sit in the chairs neither one of them! Wood furniture was fine but the walls were a mess big places and not painted. Just looked bad. The bathroom was great. It had been newly remodeled. The bed was OK but the linens on the bed were absolutely nasty discolored, dirty looking. I’m just thankful I had something with me that checked for bedbugs. I’m sorry but would not recommend this motel.

Dimly lit, musty smell,dirty, old toiletries, only the one mirror in the bathroom made it challenging to have both of us get ready. The gentleman at the counter was helpful when the toilet overflowed. Plus, it is close to downtown. Needs updating.

I am still recovering from being totally ravaged by bedbugs! I have never been so miserable in my life! In one night I was bitten all over my torso and arms! Have never experience anything like that it was completely awful Do not sleep in room 135 bed by the window or you will be eaten alive

It was ok for the one night stay. Customer service is not what they worried about here. I'll just leave that there but the room was VERY out-dated. The bathroom was great! The bed and the single chair in the room from "1970" was weird. The chair didn't recline. Not being boogie but it looked and was old! I shouldn't have expected it to recline as the first one made! It had no cushion in the seat. I sat down and got up immediately as I thought I might fall through it. It had a cig burn on the left arm...why wouldnt that chair have been changed out? I took before and after pics as I always do. The metal "band" around/under the bed was new. You walk up like normal to put stuff on the bed and "bang"! Your toes are assaulted lol. Seriously! First hotel I've seen it. Quick layover- good. More than one night- no.

For the money, I wasn't expecting much...I was wrong. The Outside of the Motel isn't much to write home about, however the room was really nice. Very clean and decorated nicely. The bed king size bed was comfortable along with the pillows. The Bathroom is updated with a very nice walk in shower with a large "rain maker" shower head. The room had a mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker along with a small desk and small couch. The included continental breakfast was just cereal and bagels, however there are multiple locations nearby to grab breakfast. For the price, this place would be very hard to beat.

I stayed on the first floor (or ground floor). The view from the hotel window was a small hill with dirty water flooding on the bottom of the hill. The room was dark.. very dark.. it did not have coffee maker, and when I asked, the man in the charge said that some room has and some room doesn.. ha!? But they gave me one, anyway. Do not stay on the first floor. Second floor is better. The one signle bed room has a small sink in the bathroom which does not have enough room to put your toiletrery and tooth brush and etc. The coffee at breakfast was awful. They did not simply put enough groudner coffee but a lot of water. I am not recommneding to stay here if you want to enjoy beautiful town.

Quick/easy check in & out. Room seemed new, recently remodeled. Clean, great condition, sizable bathroom. Didn’t hear any neighbors or outside noise. Located in a great area amongst plenty of shops & restaurants. Will stay there again.

The receptionists were very helpful, got me into a smoke-free room at the same price, even though it was supposed to cost more. And I forgot my chargers at the hotel at checkout day, and I cam back at 11:30 and the lady had them for me at the desk! And a side note, the bathrooms are quite clean for a sketchy looking hotel!

The place is clean but there was a couple next door doing god knows what until 2am music so loud and yet I could hear their noises over the music and they were crushing the bed against my bed wall. I placed a noise complaint but the hotel is not staffed overnight. I don’t think I’ll be staying here again. I definitively will ensure there’s 24h staff next place I stay at

The outside is old but rooms were fine. Good AC, bed was soft, pillows too hard, Bonnie the owner is delightful.

Quick/easy check in & out. Room seemed new, recently remodeled. Clean, great condition, sizable bathroom. Didn’t hear any neighbors or outside noise. Located in a great area amongst plenty of shops & restaurants. Will stay there again.

was a good room for what i needed. nothing fancy, but look to be somewhat newly renovated. they were quiet, couldn't hear the other rooms. I checked in on Friday and the attendant didn't know how to handle prepaid expedia reservations. other than that it was again fine for what i needed.

The interior of the rooms is much nicer than the 1960s motel look of the exterior. It is quite clean, although we did encounter 1 cockroach in the bathroom one night. The staff is polite and the location is very near the Capitol, downtown, and not far from the universities.

A no-frills hotel in a great location! We stayed for 2 nights and couldn’t have been happier with our choice, the price was low and the location was perfect. The only downfall was the wifi sucked. Cascades park is within walking distance with great restaurants and bars surrounding. Highly suggest checking out the Edison and Charlie park

It’s not fancy, but the overall price-value was surprisingly good! Clean and newly remodeled bathrooms, proximity to FSU, and midsize fridge were the most impressive for such a reasonable price.

The parking entrance/exits are so steep one can rip the under carriage of their car out if they aren't careful and going 5MPH inching forward on an angle. It was $280 for one night, the towels are pathetically thin, the floor in the bathroom was dirty, the ancient soda machine only takes coins, no breakfast, and the traffic noise is significant. On Hotels.com, this hotel advertises pricing at $50 per night. That is about what it's worth, but not what it was priced at 11/14/2025. Grossly overpriced for what it is, even with the reno and a fresh paint job. NEVER AGAIN.

For the money, I wasn't expecting much...I was wrong. The Outside of the Motel isn't much to write home about, however the room was really nice. Very clean and decorated nicely. The bed king size bed was comfortable along with the pillows. The Bathroom is updated with a very nice walk in shower with a large "rain maker" shower head. The room had a mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker along with a small desk and small couch. The included continental breakfast was just cereal and bagels, however there are multiple locations nearby to grab breakfast. For the price, this place would be very hard to beat.

Good for an overnight stay. Advertised continental breakfast, I don’t call coffee and bagel as acceptable for breakfast no other beverage. It is good for a close visit to capital you could walk there.

I liked: the lady who checked us in and the gentleman who checked us out were both very cordial and helpful. These were the only staff we met. The bathroom in our unit was quite nice. I didn't like: the choice for the complimentary breakfast was poor and there was no place to sit and eat it. No decaf coffee available.

Was fairly comfortable, but walls were thin and they wanted to charge us $20 for sheets for the pullout. Also, the Continental breakfast was a joke.

I stayed on the first floor (or ground floor). The view from the hotel window was a small hill with dirty water flooding on the bottom of the hill. The room was dark.. very dark.. it did not have coffee maker, and when I asked, the man in the charge said that some room has and some room doesn.. ha!? But they gave me one, anyway. Do not stay on the first floor. Second floor is better. The one signle bed room has a small sink in the bathroom which does not have enough room to put your toiletrery and tooth brush and etc. The coffee at breakfast was awful. They did not simply put enough groudner coffee but a lot of water. I am not recommneding to stay here if you want to enjoy beautiful town.

The mid-century modern architecture was fabulous! The updates to the room were well blended and preserved the original construction. The staff was accommodating, and the property was well kept. The included breakfast was minimal.

This is a no-frills Econo Lodge, no breakfast and simple rooms where you walk up to the second floor and all are open-air entry. However, the room was clean, there was a very nice mini fridge with freezer (which allowed us to keep some breakfast food, and keep our freezer packs frozen) and a working microwave. The bathroom was updated, was clean and functioned well. Surprising things were the concrete walls (keeps the sound out!), and beautiful exposed wood ceilings, which I'm guessing was part of the original "lodge" part of the hotel. I liked that everything in the room functioned well, from the fridge to the dark roast coffee maker, and the TV/remote (issues I've had in more expensive hotels). When I asked for extra bedding and towels, I found it in my room later, no fuss. He even shared some water for my water bottle after I got some ice (we were going to the stadium on a warm day). If you're looking for a clean, functioning option that's not too expensive, then this is it. The only ding I had was the musty smell in the room when we walked in, which in Florida, is a bit concerning (mold allergies). However, concrete walls may contribute to that since concrete doesn't absorb odor or moisture. Overall, a good experience.

The parking lot had plenty of spaces but both driveway entrances are up a hill and there is almost no way to scratch the bottom of your car. The outside noises are loud at times but we were able to sleep through the night. We did ask for extra towels and pillows, which was accommodated. There is a refrigerator in the room and an ice machine outside. Lots of restaurants and a park within walking distance.

Was completely surprised by this budget motel. Paid less than $80 for my one night stay when all other nearby hotels increased their daily rates to over $200 even $300 to gouge parents dropping students off to the local universities. It’s not fancy but it was very clean, both around the property and the room. Included a mini coffee maker, mini fridge and microwave apart from all the usual. Parking is in front of your room and the windows are in the back, so no car lights illuminating up your room in the middle of the night. Highly recommended if you’re not looking for a luxury stay to just drop off or visit your kid at college.
