Words can't describe the experience I had at this hostel. Reuben was an awesome host, along with everyone else. Very accommodating and always there to help. The location is the best, walking distance to everything, but also convenient location for transportation. Parking is easy as well if you have a car. I loved the activities the hostel provides for free every day. Not to mention, the amenities you receive like breakfast in the morning & some nights were they cook for guests. I never felt unsafe or bothered at all by other guests. Comfortable beds & enough privacy & security. I loved that it's a small hostel so it never feels too crowded. Overall, I had a wonderful experience and will definitely consider coming back in the future.

What a great week I had staying here. This was my first hostel experience and I’m so glad I chose this one in particular. The staff were all just so lovely and helpful. The vibe in the hostel is very relaxed and calm. We put a movie on in the common area most evenings and all of the other visitors were chatty and polite too, I guess we just all felt so relaxed like we were in our own homes. The pancake option for breakfast was superb and ensured when it was time to get out to explore, we’d been well fed first. The beach is only half a block away, the bus stops right across the street and there are food takeaways and grocery shops just downstairs! The beds were comfy, the showers were warm and the air conditioning was a welcoming treat after being out in the California sun all day. On some evenings there were organised activities including a bonfire at the beach, a BBQ, a soccer game at the beach and some movie nights. I really couldn’t have expected such a lovely week. If I had to leave a truly honest review I should mention that the big industrial fridge in the kitchen broke a few days into my stay there, which obviously was just a fluke that this happened while I was there, but there was a backup fridge/freezer in the store room that was used while we waited for an engineer to come out. Unfortunate but the staff continued to be as polite and smiley as ever making our stay as enjoyable as they could under the added stress they were experiencing :)

I’ve stayed at ITH Mission Beach a few times and every time I enjoy my stay. They offer many activities to do, the staff is very friendly and you can’t beat the location. One of the better hostels in San Diego. I highly recommend .

The hostel was clean and the staff were friendly. We had a private room that offered many amenities most hostels don’t such as a TV, fridge and sink in the room. The bathrooms and showers were also private stalls which was nice. It is a bit hard to find as it is above a taco shop so we did have to look around for the door but all good once found. It also has a security lock as well. One block from the boardwalk/beach and there is a big free parking lot down the street if you can’t find street parking. I would definitely stay here again.

IF you are fortunate enough to have a car/vehicle, definitely do your homework about parking. Parking options are limited to say the least and overnight is tricky so definitely read the signs. It was comfortable and welcoming. The evening activity was karaoke and had a really welcoming and encouraging vibe. I enjoyed talking with the other guests from around the world. This hostel was mellow and I got a great night sleep. It was amazing to be able to walk to the beach! One downside is that you can’t park overnight in the Belmont lot across the street. I didn’t notice the signs and paid a hefty towing fee. My own fault.

I love this hostel!! The staff are amazing!! They really care about making sure you're ok!! The hostel is very clean and reminds me of home!! They have daily events! From Movie night, Taco Tuesday, Karaoke to Pasta night like a family. You really feel the love and great vibes everywhere!!!

Staff is super friendly and helpful, genuinely. First time staying in a dorm hostel like this and will definitely look for these in the future. Bunk bed mattress is super thick and comfortable with privacy curtain, room AC unit is perfect white noise (some street noise which I don’t mind), never felt hot or cold, there are ample outlets for charging, and there is dedicated lockable storage under the bed. Felt very clean and secure. I booked a second night directly from them in a private room, and I’d say it’s the best value I’ve ever had with a nightly rental. The location is absolutely unbeatable, the beds are comfortable, private room makes you feel like a king for cheap. Will be back.

We had a great stay!! The staff were all awesome. Extra shout out to Jessie who checked us in, made us feel welcome, and provided us with cool recommendations. My only complaint is that the street noise is really loud at night. Luckily they provided us w ear plugs to help with that. Overall, it was the perfect place to stay and we wish we could've stayed longer. The location was great, literally steps from the beach, Belmont Park (kind of like the Coney Island of San Diego), and a bus stop. It was nice to feel like the rest of the city was accessible while also getting the best of staying on the beach. 10/10!

I have had experience with staying in various in european hostels, therefore shared spaces and dorm rooms are not new to me. I can say my breif experience with the staff was pleasant both ladies short and sweet and informative. My bunk was comfortable (appreciated the privacy curtains) the facilities were overall clean and in working condition, and the guests were quiet and respectful during my stay. My only qualm, which was big for me, was the heat in the female dorm. There was a window ac unit but with the black out curtains drawn the air gets caught behind the curtain and a full room is uncomfortably warm during summer. So much to where I couldn't sleep. Being that room faces the street the windows were closed to keep it quiet. Just something to re evaluate in the room next to the lounge to help the ladies stay more comfortable.

From the moment I arrived, Santi's warm welcome made me feel right at home. The beds were very comfortable, and the shower was wonderfully warm. The Wi-Fi worked perfectly, and the location, just steps from the beach, couldn't be better. Breakfast was delicious. Connecting with travelers from all over the world, including the US, was a highlight. The friendly atmosphere fostered lasting friendships. ITH Mission Beach Hostel was the best decision of my trip. Highly recommended!

Words can't describe the experience I had at this hostel. Reuben was an awesome host, along with everyone else. Very accommodating and always there to help. The location is the best, walking distance to everything, but also convenient location for transportation. Parking is easy as well if you have a car. I loved the activities the hostel provides for free every day. Not to mention, the amenities you receive like breakfast in the morning & some nights were they cook for guests. I never felt unsafe or bothered at all by other guests. Comfortable beds & enough privacy & security. I loved that it's a small hostel so it never feels too crowded. Overall, I had a wonderful experience and will definitely consider coming back in the future.

Really enjoyed my stay at ITH. My hosts Ruben, Sergio, and Megan were very accomodating in making my stay comfortable. They take pride in keeping the hostel clean. My bed was so comfortable with comfy pillows. The lovely room made for a relaxing stay. Thank you ITH! You all are awesome!

Staff was amazing. Miss them already. They keep the place so clean wish I could live there. A very positive atmosphere that makes you smile every time you enter. Every staff member is patient and focused. Would love to volunteer after seeing the spirit and energy. Waking up to complimentary coffee and eggs felt like a dream. Quality coffee! Quality eggs! Who are these amazing people? ITH stole my heart. Cutest kitchen ever. I came to visit San Diego ended up missing the staff and fellow visitors more than the city. Lol. They even suggested activities that led to me meeting more amazing ITH employees. Now all I do is look forward to another stay at an ITH property. To think I was actually nervous before my stay. Leaving all the amazing staff and guests was hard. You can't buy a genuine experience like that. It was once in a lifetime. Thank you ITH Mission. You will never realize how much your work ethic and energy lifted my spirits.

This was the second hostel I had ever stayed at and I had a wonderful experience and will definitely be back. The staff were super friendly. Everyone I spoke to was very helpful and welcoming . Shout out Nik for helping me feel comfortable

The stay here was amazing! When we arrived, we got greeted very nicely, and shown around right away. It was very clean and well kept. Breakfast was very nice to have in the morning and we were allowed to keep our bags there after checking out until the evening when we had to catch a flight. We were also provided a towel to shower after the beach after we had already checked out. Overall it was a great experience and a great hostel!

I've stayed at this hostel twice now and have had a wonderful experience each time. The room is really cute (I've booked the private room) and the staff are friendly. The hostel is in a convenient location - if you're driving, there is free street parking in the area. I absolutely will plan to visit again next time I'm in SD.

We had a great stay!! The staff were all awesome. Extra shout out to Jessie who checked us in, made us feel welcome, and provided us with cool recommendations. My only complaint is that the street noise is really loud at night. Luckily they provided us w ear plugs to help with that. Overall, it was the perfect place to stay and we wish we could've stayed longer. The location was great, literally steps from the beach, Belmont Park (kind of like the Coney Island of San Diego), and a bus stop. It was nice to feel like the rest of the city was accessible while also getting the best of staying on the beach. 10/10!

I’ve stayed at ITH Mission Beach a few times and every time I enjoy my stay. They offer many activities to do, the staff is very friendly and you can’t beat the location. One of the better hostels in San Diego. I highly recommend .

Excellent hostel and literally steps to the beach and Belmont Park. Loved the hostel experience and the free breakfast was a nice surprise!! IF you are fortunate enough to have a car/vehicle, definitely do your homework about parking. Parking options are limited to say the least and overnight is tricky so definitely read the signs. Everything was in walking distance and the neighborhood felt very safe. I would definitely recommend this hostel.

Parking options are limited to say the least and overnight is tricky so definitely read the signs. Everything was in walking distance and the neighborhood felt very safe. I would definitely recommend this hostel.

From the moment I arrived, Santi's warm welcome made me feel right at home. The beds were very comfortable, and the shower was wonderfully warm. The Wi-Fi worked perfectly, and the location, just steps from the beach, couldn't be better. Breakfast was delicious. Connecting with travelers from all over the world, including the US, was a highlight. The friendly atmosphere fostered lasting friendships. ITH Mission Beach Hostel was the best decision of my trip. Highly recommended!

It was comfortable and welcoming. The evening activity was karaoke and had a really welcoming and encouraging vibe. I enjoyed talking with the other guests from around the world. This hostel was mellow and I got a great night sleep. It was amazing to be able to walk to the beach! One downside is that you can’t park overnight in the Belmont lot across the street. I didn’t notice the signs and paid a hefty towing fee. My own fault.

The place was clean and staff was nice but it was so crowded and nowhere to park. The man told me to park across the street and I could stay there up to 3 days. Good thing my husband stayed by the car until 1am with his friends and the police told him that the car was gonna get towed if he didn’t move it. If he didn’t stay out that late, we would have been towed. Nothing like the pictures online. Also there’s an advertisement of breakfast included with the stay. You gotta cook your own food and wash your own dishes.

We had a private room which was lovely - bed is really comfy. Free pancakes for breakfast which you make yourself. Staff are really nice and helpful. Place is kept clean. Didnt use the common areas much but looked nice!

What a great week I had staying here. This was my first hostel experience and I’m so glad I chose this one in particular. The staff were all just so lovely and helpful. The vibe in the hostel is very relaxed and calm. We put a movie on in the common area most evenings and all of the other visitors were chatty and polite too, I guess we just all felt so relaxed like we were in our own homes. The pancake option for breakfast was superb and ensured when it was time to get out to explore, we’d been well fed first. The beach is only half a block away, the bus stops right across the street and there are food takeaways and grocery shops just downstairs! The beds were comfy, the showers were warm and the air conditioning was a welcoming treat after being out in the California sun all day. On some evenings there were organised activities including a bonfire at the beach, a BBQ, a soccer game at the beach and some movie nights. I really couldn’t have expected such a lovely week. If I had to leave a truly honest review I should mention that the big industrial fridge in the kitchen broke a few days into my stay there, which obviously was just a fluke that this happened while I was there, but there was a backup fridge/freezer in the store room that was used while we waited for an engineer to come out. Unfortunate but the staff continued to be as polite and smiley as ever making our stay as enjoyable as they could under the added stress they were experiencing :)

Great location. It’s just a block from the Mission beach on the Pacific side. Cozy facility with friendly service. Guests were given codes to the rooms and front gate. Breakfast and dinner are included in the price. Bathrooms and toilets are clean and functional.
