DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Savannah Historic District

The property needs some updating, especially the pool area.

Hotel has no parking other than valet for $50. or park a couple blocks away! Road noise is so loud inside the room it sounds like the windows are open! would never stay again!

We saw a roach in the lobby by the elevators. One of the elevators got stuck while we there and they were extremely slow and making a lot of noise. The A/C in our room was EXTREMELY loud and squeaked. Otherwise, the property was fine. I probably will not stay here again though. And the parking was not listed on the hotel site. it was very expensive compared to what I have paid in the past at other hotels.

Excellent property, although the pool area needs attention!

Easy to access hotel. Parking is Valet ONLY. Cash or online tipping. Valet team is great at what they do. Entrance and lobby is very aesthetic. Front desk team are professional and helpful. Lobby, bar, and restaurant are great as well. Elevator is a bit on the slow side but that’s not an issue. Room is very clean and comfortable. We did not visit the pool area but from what we saw from our 5th floor, it looked clean. Beautiful surrounding area with EVERYTHING in walking distance. We stayed there 8/27-8/29 And felt pretty safe walking around the bustling historic town center area. We were there for a business trip. Great experience all around!

They need to service their elevator ; got stuck on them twice. That's not a great feeling.

Location was ok. Noise from the road kept me up both nights. I did notify the front desk. They apologized and then never communicated with me again. They also never texted me re the valeted car. The walls of the hotel are paper thin. Tub has chips in it. Elevators are incredibly slow and have expired licenses. Would never stay at a DoubleTree again.

Parking fee is a disgrace, $50.00 day. Front desk not friendly or welcoming. Our room was on the Bay St. side of the hotel and all night, every night the traffic noise was terrible, the tractor trailers noise made for sleepless night. When we mentioned at front desk the receptionist said "Yes, we've heard that". Ice machine on 3nd floor had a leak/water on floor the entire stay. The fiberglass balony was cracked and looked unsafe & no seating! Pool area: the hot tub was chipped and did not look fit for useage. When checking out i asked for a print out & the receptionist gave me the receipt and said "here you are ma'am". No thank you for staying with us, no hope you enjoyed your stay...nothing!!!

Nice hotel near the riverfront. Walkable distance to everywhere downtown Savannah. Reasonable rooom rates for Savannah. However, valet parking was a little higher than others. Especially when you don't need to use your car.

Our stay was mostly great. Great location, great staff. But I never like forced valet, and I thought the place was over priced. Admittedly it could be because it was during the busy St Patricks Day celebration - which we didn't account for, since they have it on 3/16 when it would otherwise land on a Sunday. Also, there were a few minor issues with the room - bathroom door was sticky, AC was incredibly loud, the "gym" was miniscule - that they apologized for, but still were a bit annoying. They offered another room, but once you're all settled in it is a pain to switch again. Otherwise all was good.

So our room was kinda dirty. We found a credit card from a previous guest under our bed and trash. There were stains on the wall and dust and cobwebs in the corner. The staff was super nice especially the valet staff but really disappointed with the cleaning. There were stains on the towels too. The area and location was perfect but I don’t know if I would pay that price for a dirty room.

The property was great for the most part but there was an ant problem in my room. Found them in the bathroom the night stand and even on the bed. The jacuzzi needs to be updated or had mold around it and paint was peeling off leaving grainy spots. The restaurant was good and bar was convenient and staff was very very friendly and attentive. This hotel was excellent for walking distance to City Market, River Street, Broughton Street and all the downtown attractions, restaurants, and shopping in downtown Savannah. It was clean, newly renovated, and smelled amazing. We could have used the valet parking, but chose a nearby parking garage for the price and convenience.

First, no self parking on site. $50 a day valet only. Second, we walked into the room and found a large water poodle on the air conditioning from the leaking window. It has just downpoured outside, so i get it. Call the front desk. Notice before I call that the room is covered in construction dust. The chair, desk, dresser, refrigerator, and tv were coated in a very thin and sticky layer of white dust. Called front desk, informed them of the leak in the window, and asked them when the last time the room was cleaned. They responded that the building engineer would be right up to check the window, and that the room had been thoroughly cleaned that morning. 5 minutes later, the engineer was at the door, cleaned up the water, and apologized for the leaky window. I pointed out the thin layer of dust everywhere, and he looked extremely disappointed AND OFFERED TO STAY AND CLEAN IT HIMSELF! Wow. That guy deserves a raise. The front desk staff did not care that we had a problem. Also, just a note, if you want to tip your valet, so it in cash. The digital top on the valet slip does not go to them.

Hotel staff friendly . Valet staff was wonderful . The hall gave a mildew smell . The room had a sour odor . Very dusty on everything thing that I touched . For the price per night I won’t be returning

I appreciated the convenience of the property's proximity to RiverStreet. I was disappointed in the lack of coffee for guests in the lobby the entire weekend I was there. If you leave it out, please refill the pots for guests to partake. Additionally I was on the 4th floor and an overwhelming sewage smell hit me pretty hard in the hallway, and through the vents in my room.

The location of this property is great. Close to River Street and the Historic District. Unfortunately our accommodations were not great. While the lobby and lounge are modern the configuration of the entrance is strange. Bifold doors off of a side entrance from the valet area. The elevator was shappy*tarnished brass panels, slow and noisy. Our room smelled damp and musty. The noise from the street was like a window was open (seemed to be through A/C unit) to the point it was hard to sleep. Pillows were too soft, shower handle di not work properly and toilet was loose from floor when you shifted your weight. Overall not the room we had planned for for our 20th anniversary.

Savannah was great. The stay at the hotel was not comfortable what so ever. The room would not cool. I had to turn off the ac unit every 45 min to keep the room some what cool. I couldn’t sleep. They sent a technician in when requested but the issue was not resolved just said to keep the ac unit on low fan to keep it working.

I didn't like all the road noise. Need better sound proofing. Lighting in the shower area was very poor.

Noisy room. Really noisy. Should have gotten the clue when we noticed the white noise machine. Great room if sleep is not required.

The room would not stay cool. I had to reset the ac unit every 45 minutes to keep the room at a decent temperature but not comfortable. I couldn’t sleep the whole trip. A technician was sent but suggested to keep the unit on low fan to keep the room cool but still had to reset the unit.

Our room fronted Bay Street, too noisy, especially early am traffic and night loud trucks&motorcycles. Ask for quiet room on the other side. All else first class. Great location. Great staff.

Fantastic location, minutes from riverside and easily walkable everywhere. Bedroom very roomy and bright. Had a room tot he back so was very quiet. Staff are excellent - super friendly.

Lovely room, large windows allowed us to get perfect viewing of fireworks! Great location for walking to fun places to see and eat.

The beds were very comfortable. The bath towels were thick like they were new. The staff was very nice. We will definitely be staying there again!

Overall we had a great weekend getaway. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Our room was spacious and clean. Location was great in proximity to River St. I would stay there again.

Loved the location. Cleaing service thumbs down, nonexistent! Very disappointed. Hotel sent company to repair air conditioner with no warning. We walked into our room door wide open 3 people in it. Tarp over the sitting chair. Worker left greasy hand prints all over air conditioner. Check in - asked for early checkin. Nothing was available. Took my number and never called. Finally able to check in 4 hours after arrival! Asked cleaning staff to clean never did. I had to ask for towels, toilet paper and Kleenex. Soda machine ate our money. Front desk said to walk across street and hilton gardens would give us a free soda. Why should we have to walk and get it! No happy about this stay. Probably will not stay at any Hilton hotels ever again. Service sucked! Although bartender at hotel bar was friendly and valet was friendly.

Very nice facility with everything anyone could expect. The rooms were clean and quiet. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The staff in the dining area was very pleasant and attentive. Eric was especially professional, friendly and eager to ensure an excellent dining and overall experience. The hotel is extremely convenient to walkable locations, attractions, restaurants, etc. The one issue to mention which is not under their control is that the back side rooms of the hotel face towards a busy night life area a block away and it was noisy one night until about 2 -3AM.

The staff was rude with the exception of the valet workers, who were great. You had to request to have your room cleaned, but when you did so they acted like it was an inconvenience. Overall the front desk staff were all unfriendly and even rude at times. I will be staying somewhere else the next time I visit the gorgeous city of Savannah.

Expensive, but worth the stay! We tried a few different well known hotels around the block, but this was our favorite and we’ll definitely stay there again in any of our future visits to Savannah. The hotel staff were just exceptional, so helpful, and a great, positive vibe all around. The breakfast buffet was also great!

I was in line to check-in, in front of me there was a lady who was receiving great customer service. When it was my turn to check-in, the male associate did not raise his head to look at me or greet me. He just asked me for my last name. (That was very Rude) I paid $45per night for valet parking. Sat.night after returning back to the hotel, my husband and I waited 10 minutes for someone to show up to park our car. Eventually, I had to go Inside the hotel&tell the lady at the front desk that we were waiting for valet. She got up from the desk and went somewhere then a man showed up to park our car. The front desk associate did not offer an explanation on why we had to wait for valet parking&she did not apologize for the inconvenience. My husband&I went to our room. When we got to our room,both of our door cards would not open the door! We had to go back downstairs to find out why our cards were not working. We gave the cards to the lady at the front desk. She did something on the computer&gave the cards back to my husband&stated that the cards will work now. Again, she did not offer an explanation as to why our cards were not working, until my husband asked her what was the problem. She said that they were not working because we probably had them near a cellphone. I knew that was a Lie because my card was never near my cellphone. Again, We did not receive an apology for the inconvenience. I feel like the front desk treats people of a Certain Color better than others.

I loved the staff at the front desk! Cassidy was a welcoming face and made my day by being so kind. The valet staff member, Charles was incredibly kind to us and very accommodating!

Property was clean. Valet personnel were SUPER helpful. The front desk staff (the majority of them) leave much to be desired in the way of customer service. There was only 1 person working at the desk that even seemed to “see” me. The rest of the front desk staff acted as though we were disturbing them. They were NOT busy…and yet they all acted as though they were too busy to be helpful. Not impressed at all!!!!

This is in a perfect location close to almost everything. An Uber from there to Forsyth Park was only $7.

This location is right on Bay Street where the noise level is unbelievable. The cars, the people, the noise was just about unbearable. Drag racing in the middle of the night paired with the constant sirens made this trip a bit uneasy.

Close to riverview restaurants/shops. Close to City Market (walkable, easily)

The location is conveniently located for the river walk and great dining options. I did not like the rate of $45 per day to park. Way too expensive.

The location to walk to city market & the river was excellent however you pay the price of not being able to SLEEP due to traffic noise. Big, loud trucks into the night and before dawn. Bay Street should be called Bay Highway instead.

The room was very clean with all amenities that were needed. The staff was all very kind and helpful. The breakfast was not included but the restaurant had a nice selection and a great buffet. There were so many great shops and restaurants within walking distance as well as the river walk which was lively during the day Nd absolutely beautiful at night.

The restaurant on site was not open as much as it should have been. You can order food at the bar but it was subpar at best.

$17 breakfast was poor. The food was not good at all.

Stains on sheets. Breakfast was terrible. Pretty sure the bacon and sausage was left over from the day before.

Could hear road noise while in my room. Breakfast was not good. Paid $17.00 for breakfast that was out of several foods and what they did have was not hot. We ate at 8am and the food conditions should not have been this bad. I get better breakfasts at a hotel that offers complimentary breakfasts.

Staff were great. Very helpful. Breakfast was good value. Location was excellent, albeit noisy at night from cars. On off trolley stop right behind the hotel. We used it to get around the city, very convenient.
