The first impression of reception and front room were superb with elegant period paintings, furniture pieces and lighting throughout. There are lots of stairs: main entrance is on 2nd floor, breakfast is served on the ground floor, and our room overlooking the courtyard required several steps as well. We overpacked, so carrying suitcases and laptops was a bit much. Bring a backpack and save yourself the trouble. We thoroughly enjoyed the happy hour with complimentary wine and appetizers in the front room. The room itself is spacious and inviting and we chatted with other guests. Port wine and desert was then served. Stop you are spoiling us ;) Breakfast was delicious, filling and varied. Our room overlooked the courtyard which is pure joy. The room itself was tight, and was swampy when we arrived, but had everything we needed. We slept well. The bathroom is modern with smart choices. The location can’t be beat. Very central and we walked around for an hour at night gawking at the various parks and architecture.

This is a beautiful historic hotel. The staff were wonderful, especially Kesha and Cheryl. The garden area was love, the bed comfortable, and the breakfasts were great. It is an old building so it is not super quiet and the AC is very loud but the positives far outweigh any negatives. I would highly recommend. If you go to Savannah, it is walkable and you really do not need a car. Parking is difficult.

This was the perfect property to experience Savannah. Our room was very nice and clean. It overlooked the courtyard. Before bed we put in our orders for breakfast with the front desk and then in the morning we enjoyed our hot breakfast in the courtyard. In the evenings there was a cocktail hour with appetizers and wine followed a couple hours later by a dessert and coffee hour. All in the parlor with a warm fire going. The house is centrally located for walking and the staff was very helpful with suggestions for anything we wanted to see or do. I highly recommend the Eliza Thompson House and look forward to visiting again in the future.

We loved our stay here! The room was clean and comfortable - breakfast was great daily and all the employees were wonderful to talk to! They have small gatherings in the evenings where we were able to chat with other guests and the employees. The area is older and beautiful! Parking is on street and can be limited, but as we planned this trip to walk everywhere this was no issue for us. We would definitely stay here again!

This is a fantastic place to stay while you’re in Savannah! It’s in a great location. It’s far enough from the extra touristy area along the river, but an easy walk through the lovely squares. It’s also a couple of blocks for Forsyth Park. The staff are welcoming and incredibly helpful. My wife and I loved the hors d’œuvres in the evening and the dessert/port after dinner. The breakfast in the morning was also delicious and much appreciated. It gave us time to relax and eat before heading out. Lastly, the road snacks at checkout was unexpected and a very nice touch! I do have to say, it’s not good if you have mobility issues. I don’t recall seeing elevators.

I didn't know all the history this B&B had, until it was mentioned on 2 tours we were on! Lovely, relaxing stay. As noted on the properties website, I believe,there are no elevator. Staff took our luggage to room. But be aware, if you have mobility issues this might not be the best choice for you. Staff and breakfast were outstanding!

Wonderful staff and beautiful place. The location is suburb for being in the charm of Savannah. We walked in every direction and it’s so close to Forsythe Park and the busier downtown area. Delicious breakfast in a darling courtyard. Wine and appetizers exceeded our expectations and we enjoyed the port and chocolate hour as well. A perfect stay

Staff were all very helpful and friendly. Amenities were awesome. Always cold bottled water, soft drinks, coffee and tea available. Breakfast were delicious! Nice courtyard area for sitting and breakfast. Very quiet and beautiful neighborhood with walking ease to restaurants and shops. Would definitely recommend!

Charming room kept neat and clean. Comfortable mattress on beautiful bed. Breakfast was superb. Servers were so sweet and cheerful. Everything smelled so clean. The front desk was very helpful with all of our questions. They gave us suggestions for dinner and tours. Breakfast was very good and it was enough food to hold us over until a late lunch. We did not participate but they had wine happy hour and desserts early evening. It’s a well kept historical home. Our room however smelled like an old trunk from the 1800s. Very musty. The garden patio area was beautiful! The parlor with daily hors d’oeuvres and wine is nice… However…. We had the “chef” inspired breakfast…. Inedible! I had the shrimp and grits…. One bite was enough… not good. My daughter had the pecan waffles… she was grossed out. We left breakfast quite hungry…. Found a nice place for breakfast. The workers are very pleasant and friendly. Our room was cleaned daily…. The room: again musty old smell…. Tiny shower…high queen bed… they provide a little step stool to get into the bed. Bath products were nice….bottled water replaced daily… the property is well kept and the neighborhood is absolutely beautiful. Steps away from Forsyth Park…. Bull street will take you right to the Riverside. Expensive…not really worth the price:… but can strike this establishment off my “bucket list”. Air conditioner sounded like a jet engine taking off every 2-2 minutes… maybe it needed serve?? We woke up every 15-20 minutes due to the loud A/C unit.

Staff was helpful. Thanks especially to Melody. She was cheerful and extremely helpful in many ways. Courtyard and breakfast were great. Had to pay an extra $30.00 for parking on the street for two days. Room smelled like Clorox when we arrived and the air conditioner was so noisy, we opened the door for air at night. Special happy hour treats and dessert offering were cold or nonexistent. Still,all in all, it was above average. Nice old house in a beautiful historical area. Walkable to downtown Savannah so we would stay again.

Historic Inn….perhaps a bit more trafficked than some of the others. I think if you get one of the more expensive rooms they are more spacious, in better shape and more private. It is a lovely old place but not designed to accommodate air conditioning and modern baths, so the updates—while fully acceptable—are kind of wonky. Unbeatable location. Helpful staff. Could be cleaner (Christmas decor still up on Feb 28, breakfast area floor in serious need of a cleaning).

This is a top-notch place to stay in the historic district. The location is great and it’s a very walkable area. This is undoubtedly the most beautiful street in the area. The staff there are excellent and extremely helpful. Our room was exceptionally clean and comfortable. The breakfasts were delicious and filling. Some nice added touches were the evening happy hour with wine and appetizers, and the later evening dessert and port. We underestimated how many nights we should have stayed and left wanting more. We will definitely be back!

We love the location and the staff. Unfortunately the room we stayed in was dank, dark, and needed a lot of updating. Obviously nothing to take away from the historical experience. But the bed was awful. Lumpy and used. No view but the windows face a dark brick wall. So you open this gorgeous windows to solid wall no sunlight at all! Sad room. I’m not going back. Room 133. Skip it.

What a quaint historic b&b. You feel the southern hospitality as soon as you walk in. You feel the history and i love that the staff gives you a tour of the property. Updated bathroom and step stools to get on the high bed. There was water and plenty of usb outlets. Equipped with the bathroom essentials and bathrobes. Bed was comfy and plenty of pillows too. I do think the heating needs updating. It’s loud. I liked the wet bar in the parlor with coffee, tea, water and soda. All complimentary. I wish you had the option to select breakfast or not because for the $40 charge I think we would have opted not to take it. I know it included the wine and apps and dessert hour, but the breakfast was underwhelming with overcooked eggs, burnt cold bacon and burnt toast. We felt we had to get back for the wine and apps because we paid for it but would have stayed out and never made dessert because we were at dinner. Again, this is just our opinion and do think it’s a nice touch but having the option would be nice. Also, we were told it was adults only upon arrival, however i walked into an 8 year old heading to the wine time and a teenage boy at breakfast, so if you truly want no kids, I would inquire before booking. Overall, the location and staff were the best part and we appreciate all their knowledge and friendly personalities.

My husband and I were in Savannah to celebrate our anniversary and found the Eliza Thompson House to be just perfect! The staff were friendly, happy to answer our questions and full of suggestions. The location was so convenient to dining and sightseeing. Our room was just gorgeous - comfortable bed, tons of space with a desk and a sitting area. The bathroom was well stocked and spacious. The courtyard is simply beautiful, with quiet nooks to sit and read among the greenery. The food was great, and such a treat to end the day with a yummy dessert and 24/7 coffee/tea/soda. Went above and beyond our expectations.

This house is lovely, the breakfast was delicious both days of our stay. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. The happy hour was a nice treat. The house is in a very convenient area, easy walks to so many places to see, eat, or just rest on a bench. We will stay here again.

The Eliza Thompson house was absolutely perfect! It was in a great location where you can walk to the river and all the historic sites. It was the highlight of our trip as we relaxed every morning for a delicious breakfast in the beautiful and lush courtyard. Our room had a view of the courtyard and we couldn’t get enough of it. It made our stay in beautiful Savannah even that much better. Would definitely recommend and would love to stay there again!!

This is a great B&B on the beautiful Jones Street! It’s walkable to everything you’d like to visit in Historic downtown Savannah. The staff is wonderful with providing suggestions and sharing stories of their city. The daily breakfast, happy hour and late evening dessert were extra special touches!

The staff at Eliza Thompson are extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfasts were delicious and plentiful. The tradition of happy hour and dessert hour in the parlor area is lovely. Although we are happy that we stayed here, I'm not sure we would stay again because the facilities are somewhat dated and need updating. The toilet tended to run at times.

Eliza Thompson House is perfectly situated near all the action. It’s away from the very busy area so parking is easy. We were especially pleased with the breakfast. Unlike other places that offer breakfast with your stay, we picked from a menu of fresh, hot, delicious food prepared by their chef. Don’t hesitate!

Absolutely the best B&B we have stayed in. Great staff. Wonderful breakfasts. Walkable to everything in Savannah. Highly recommend!

Wonderful older home in central Savannah. It had some quirks. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was ok, not great, but wine and hors d'oeuvre in evening were quite good and a fun experience.

This is a top-notch place to stay in the historic district. The location is great and it’s a very walkable area. This is undoubtedly the most beautiful street in the area. The staff there are excellent and extremely helpful. Our room was exceptionally clean and comfortable. The breakfasts were delicious and filling. Some nice added touches were the evening happy hour with wine and appetizers, and the later evening dessert and port. We underestimated how many nights we should have stayed and left wanting more. We will definitely be back!
