It was a decent hotel room for the price we paid, the man at the front desk was very nice and helped us in many ways. However the first morning we woke uo our air conditioner in our room was leaking and our floor was wet, someone elses room who was in our party the air didnt work. However the staff switched room immediately and was very nice and did it no questions asked the lobby was very warm. It did have a good breakfast and the pool looked like it had a film on top however other people were swimming so it could have been just a personal preference on my behalf

We have stayed at this hotel for several years. We stayed on 2/8/25, and they have renovated almost everything:new flooring, new curtains, TVs, and some furniture. We love the pool area...nice hot tub. The people are always nice.

Overall everything was very clean and comfortable! Only thing that wasn’t that great was the pool temperature was on the cold side. But that was minor compared to a nice hot tub, room, and delicious breakfast.

This is an older facility but has been well maintained and remodeled to update both the look and the feel. Adding electrical outlets/USB charging to the bedside clock and on the desk would bring it even more up to date. The pool and hot tub are wonderful!

Marginally ok for a cheap motel. However, my room was not cleaned/serviced during the three days I stayed at the motel. There are 6-8 other hotels in the same area that are newer and better appointed. I will stay elsewhere on my next trip to Ames.

Very affordable and clean. My room was quiet (no hallway noise in the morning) and clean. The TV was a little funky to use as the guide didn’t seem to work, but not a biggie. Staff was friendly and very courteous. Will def stay here again.

This Americinn is staffed by wonderful people and is so clean and neat that my mother would approve. The quiet is just what I wanted, restful sleep and no loud neighbors. The pool is refreshing and the hot tub is lovely. The breakfast was nourishing and varied and delicious.

Nice place and great value with lots of recent renovation completed. Room was totally updated along with the lobby area. Parking lot was well lit making it a safe place to park for the night. The hotel manager was eager to assist.

During our 6 night stay we received no maid service at all. Told housekeeping would provide service every 3rd day but wasn’t received. Found two cockroaches in our room so kept luggage closed at all times.

It was under an update and workers installing tile in entry. Room was big and clean. The bed was horrible. We couldn’t walk when we got up. Mattress way over time to replace. OLD. Desk employee was friendly and quick. Will jot stay here again.

Nice big breakfast area, hot breakfast with biscuits and gravy. Biscuits were hard. Pool towels needed some fabric softener, but pool and hot tub area were very nice. Room looked nice, but bed was uncomfortable. Base of toilet was dirty and there were 2 almost empty rolls of toilet paper.

This is an older hotel that needs some updating to the 21st century. It's a 2 story building with no elevators, so a 2nd floor room means hauling baggage up and down stairs. Our room was clean and comfortable with all the standard amenities. Breakfast was pretty meager. Everyone we met on staff was very friendly and helpful. OK for a bargain priced hotel.

Got an upgrade to a suite which was great. Bed was really comfortable and the room was really quiet. A couple more lights would have been nice - one in the entry hall and one at the desk in the room. Location was really convenient, close to both Hwys 30 and 35.

The breakfast were barely adequate. It was very busy and by the time I was able to make a waffle the breakfast lady turned off the lights and shut down. Seemed a bit rude and she was not friendly in the least. On checkout the foreign employee could not print a receipt and said he would Email one but never happened.

My husband and I drove to Iowa, from Texas, for a family reunion of sorts. We had never stayed at an AmericInn before. However, we WILL be staying at this location again in the future! The staff were super friendly and helpful and our room was very clean and tidy. We loved the room darkening curtains, big screen TV and mini fridge! Oh, AND, the water pressure in the shower was AMAZING! Seriously, y'all - it was great and even better than what we have at home. LOL! The hot breakfast every morning was great, too - with lots of options to choose from. This AmericInn offers wonderful amenities for a great value! Most of us are on a tight budget these days and this place met all of our needs and more! We will now recommend this AmericInn to everyone we know. Sincerely, Very happy and satisfied customers!

We stayed four nights, and the staff were so friendly and helpful every time we came and went. The first night, we arrived late, and the front desk manager was very generous and kind. We will definitely stay here again some day.

Honestly it was the staff for me. You can have a clean hotel and nice amenities but without the warm welcoming ambiance it's just not home. The staff here are phenomenal, from the desk to the breakfast attendant PHENOMENAL! Each and everyone of them kind and helpful. Will most definitely stay again!

The people next to us were up all night screaming at each other and when I went to call the front desk they said they would call that room and nothing was resolved. My child and I did not sleep at all that night it was absolutely ridiculous how they handled the situation.

Staff was very friendly and helpful with our complex reservation request. Once the owner met us, he knew exactly who we were and what our situation was, and how he was handling it. The hotel was clean and was a great stay!

For the price this place was well worth it. Just an overnight stay so we didn’t get to use the pool but it was quite nice. Hot breakfast was very adequate and much better than the typical continental breakfast at other hotels. The Staff were so nice & helpful. No elevator to go to the second level but the staff helped carry our bags to our room. Very considerate. I would stay here again.

Stopped in Ames overnight while on longer trip. Hotel is conviently right off of I-35, about two miles from ISU campus. Loads of restaurants and shopping within a couple of miles. Owner checked us in and was very nice. Hotel is clean. Very basic facilities, good value for the money if you are just looking to crash overnight and don’t need anything fancy. Bathrooms are getting close to needing a renovation.

We were in Ames for a dance competition this weekend. The staff was incredibly polite and responsive to any questions we had. Convenient location near the highway, not far from restaurants and entertainment. The hotel was comfortable with a very nice pool area! Our family had a wonderful time.

Very good service, very clean and quiet. Would definitely recommend to travelers. Easy on and off to 35. Plethora of restaurants a few blocks away.

Got an upgrade to a suite which was great. Bed was really comfortable and the room was really quiet. A couple more lights would have been nice - one in the entry hall and one at the desk in the room. Location was really convenient, close to both Hwys 30 and 35.

The stay was great. The pool was the highlight for our stay. Breakfast was pretty average. One thing that disappointed me was that I was told I had to pay extra due to having 3 children in one room. It was one single adult and 3 children, the website said that each room held 5 people so I wasn’t exactly sure why I was being charged more.

The breakfast were barely adequate. It was very busy and by the time I was able to make a waffle the breakfast lady turned off the lights and shut down. Seemed a bit rude and she was not friendly in the least. On checkout the foreign employee could not print a receipt and said he would Email one but never happened.

We like AmericInns for the breakfasts and they are overall decent hotels. We've stayed at this one before so knew it was ok. But the bad thing this trip was it is undergoing renovations in the lobby/breakfast area, so the breakfast was not up to snuff. The juice machine is in the area that is not currently accessible, so there was no juice. The food options were more limited than normal, though they did have scrambled eggs and biscuits and gravy. So not terrible, just not what it is normally. And because of the work being done the area is a bit of a mess. But it should be much nicer when it's done. It is an older hotel so it can use the facelift. The room was fine, comfortable bed, and I like the separate sink from the toilet/shower. Plus their fridge is bigger than most and has a freezer, something we appreciate as we are often traveling with a cooler with ice packs. Our main complaint is there was no communication about the renovations going on and the affect on the breakfast.

I didn't mind the property, I'm not picky. It didn't have need bugs and it was reasonably quiet. Just the people in the room next door were loud enough. The breakfast had scrambled eggs and biscuits and gravy that a lot don't have. They didn't have any fruit, however. But, everything else was fine.

Staff were excellent and helpful. Hotel reception and lobby was basic. Room was clean. I stayed for one night. In the morning there was water dripping from the ceiling of the shower. The bath tub was blocked and water keep rising when having shower. Breakfast was very poor.

This Americinn is staffed by wonderful people and is so clean and neat that my mother would approve. The quiet is just what I wanted, restful sleep and no loud neighbors. The pool is refreshing and the hot tub is lovely. The breakfast was nourishing and varied and delicious.

Nice big breakfast area, hot breakfast with biscuits and gravy. Biscuits were hard. Pool towels needed some fabric softener, but pool and hot tub area were very nice. Room looked nice, but bed was uncomfortable. Base of toilet was dirty and there were 2 almost empty rolls of toilet paper.

Great staff. One of the cleanest I’ve ever seen for the price. Only complaint would be it feels a bit outdated. But it seems they may be working on this. Can’t beat the price and cleanliness. Their breakfast items are actually quite pleasant as well.

Overall a good experience, parking lot well lit, friendly front desk, room temp was good. The biggest downfall was floor in the lobby was being replaced, so there was construction going on. I don't know if that can be posted within the app or not, but would have been nice to know ahead of time. This cramped the breakfast area and the selection wasn’t what it normally is at other Americinn hotels we've stayed at.

The hotel was great! Perfect location the room was clean and cozy. The staff was very helpful. Pool and hot tub were amazing. The breakfast restaurant that shares the parking lot got our attention more than the offerings from the hotel and it did not disappoint. Flip’n Jacks for cherry on top of a great stay!

This was a very nice stay. Room was large and comfortable. They had a dehumidifier going so the room was not musty. Staff was great as usual. (We have stayed here a few times.) The price was good. Hot tub was great. Breakfast was good but not great. (I don't like the fake eggs, but they did have waffles and biscuits & gravy, which were good.) Overall, I would recommend and would stay here again.

The room was super humid. There was a dehumidifier in the room but it wasn't running when we entered the room. It took a while for it to feel comfortable. You had to use 2 remotes to operate the TV. A little confusing and outdated.

Breakfast was good , inside hotel in clean . There was visible mold on the light cord in our room which I didn’t see until I went to unplug something as we were leaving . There is no housekeeping daily , we were given 3 towels and 2 washcloths for 4 people . The mattress was stained which I also didn’t see until right before checking out. Property needs a good mowing the grass was long and it looks unkempt from outside in general .
