The hit tub was out of service. The sink in my room was clogged or something - took forever to drain. I didn't bring it to attention as we were busy and wasn't a big deal. These 2 tiny things aside....Myra and all staff were awesome! Would stay again!!

Pool and hot tub and not working. We were told at check-in, super disappointed. We’re moving across country and we all needed a hot tub. Breakfast was good. Room was good and clean. Worth the money, but we were really ticked off because there were other hotels we could have booked at if they would have updated their listing saying there wasn’t a pool or hot tub. Unfortunately, we will now need to call each property to check before we book.

With the nice weather that Iowa is still having it was disappointing seeing that the fire pit was already wrapped up for winter and not able to be used. Every time we went to the pool we had to ask for more towels, and then staff would only bring in like 6-8 towels. and on Sunday morning I went back to the pool to find again no towels and went to the front desk. Talked to others that had waited over 30 minutes for staff to show up (it was 7:40 AM) and breakfast was not ready. Breakfast doors did not open up until well after 8:30. This was a huge disappointment. Not sure who didn't show up but there were alot of staff that lacked on Sunday morning. But to have no one available for over 1 hour after calling the front desk, ringing the front desk bell, just not acceptable.

Hot tub/pool was closed for maintenance. Wasn't told this until after I checked in. Waited at front desk to check in for 30 min. Had to call hotel phone # to get someone to come to front desk. We were very disappointed with the condition of our room. The shower curtain had mold on it, and the shower itself had not been cleaned properly, we even found hair from a previous guest. By the time we noticed, we were in a hurry, but it was honestly unacceptable and quite unpleasant.

Public areas were not clean. Floors had dirt and who knows what at door thresholds, around edges of floor. In rooms, tub was discolored and there were towel racks is bathroom. Cracks in walls around windows. No charging ports. Lighting was dim, 15 watt bulbs. Breakfast was ok. The breakfast staff was nice!

The breakfast area had a lot black mold coming out of the air registers in the ceiling. All of the food - eggs & gravy and coffee was cold. The I’m smelled of bleach. Our swimming suits were damaged with bleach spots ! Burnt out light bulb in room.

No one cleaned the room before our stay. There was no facial tissue, globs of soap on shower handle, someone left behind beer in the fridge and something nasty I didn't want to touch. The room needed to be vacuumed even though it was a worn out carpet. Bed linens were clean an that's the best I can say about it. Only one night so didn't bother asking for another room. Would've taken too much time.

Upon checking in tried to use hallway restroom, handle was not engaged and prior guest had left it unusable, obviously been that way for days. Notified front desk, he gave me my room key so I could use the room before checking in. Very nice! After checking in and getting all my belongings in and settled for the night, started noticing heater smelled like smoke, air registers were covered in THICK LAYER of dust. Breakfast: Eggs and Sausage Gravy were in warmer, it was on, but it wasn't working. They were both COLD at 8:30 am. I told the guy, he checked them and walked away. Luckily there were other options, like waffels that worked for us guests. Nobody wanted food poisioning as breakfast opened at 6 am. Air vents above breakfast buffet were worse than ones in room. Bed was comfortable, furniture was nice. Just needs a really good DEEP CLEANING as well as VENTS & CARPETS.

When I checked in, I was told that my room had just been cleaned only moments before my arrival. I entered my room thinking I got the wrong room assigned, because not only had it not been cleaned but it looked as though someone was still in it until I notice the left over shoe box was empty and no suitcase was present. The bed was dirty still, the bathrooms had used towels in the tub, the trash not only had food items and waste, but bloody napkins and what appeared to possibly be remained products left in them. Needless to say I won’t be returning to this establishment likely ever again. Also the upgraded room I paid for looks like there is water damage everywhere, and is in need of a complete renovation. I wanted to like this place, stay not so far away, and stay in the AmericInn next door. They have VERY clean rooms for the price, and great breakfast options.

In the middle of the night we had someone keep trying to get in our room. We called the front desk and asked someone to come check on it and they asked us to tell the person to come to the front desk. We let them know that we were not opening the door and asked that they send someone to check on it which they finally did. The room was noisy overall as we could hear the people upstairs every time they moved around.

The bed felt like we were sleeping on the floor and the bedding was so lumpy. The lobby was updated but the rooms were not. Chair had a mismatched ottoman and the desk chair was falling apart. Would not recommend

Lobby was clean and inviting and the guy that checked us in was very helpful and kind but that's about it. We paid $160 plus taxes and fees. We went down at 9am for breakfast Sunday morning (which was done at 10am) and there was 4 pieces of sausage 3 scoops of eggs 1 piece of white bread and 4 mini bagels. You could make your own waffles as well. The breakfast room was a disaster! Sticky floors, counters, and tables from maple syrup. It appeared nothing had been cleaned since they opened for breakfast. No one was there to assist with any of the previously mentioned items. We were one of 6 people that came down at that time and I felt terrible for the people after us as there was really nothing to choose but juice and a waffle. The trash was full and overflowing. Our room was clean, but dated and office chair all the leather had peeled off and the lounge chair had white stains and holes. Our fridge and heater were very loud. It was a place to sleep as the weather wasn't great, but for what we paid I expected more than what we got.

Breakfast offered is nothing special very plan items - bed was very uncomfortable and we stayed two nights and asked for a clean and fresh towels and received neither. Would not stay here in the future.

The desk chair in my room was in very poor looking condition. The room needs more plugins for phones, iPads etc. The only way I could tell what time it was is with my phone but their is no place to plug it in by the bed and their is no clock or alarm in the room..

We reserved a suite that was just a few dollars more than a regular room. The amount of extra space was well worth the few extra dollars. There was a very spacious counter top area with a microwave, refrigerator, and coffee maker. We will definitely keep this hotel in mind for future trips to this area.

In the middle of the night we had someone keep trying to get in our room. We called the front desk and asked someone to come check on it and they asked us to tell the person to come to the front desk. We let them know that we were not opening the door and asked that they send someone to check on it which they finally did. The room was noisy overall as we could hear the people upstairs every time they moved around.

Staff is really helpful & accommodating. A busy Sunday breakfast had plenty of food but staff had a hard time cleaning tables. Monday was calmer and much better, but always had plenty of food or if asked, staff would restock. We rebook this hotel repeatedly

We had a terrible experience at this hotel. We checked in at 3:15 pm and they told us our room still needs to be cleaned, which was fine. We went to grab food and came back at 4:45. Checked in again and they told us our room still needs like 15 minutes of cleaning. The manager gave us the keys to the room but said come back in 15 minutes. We went to the basketball game in town, and did not get back until 11. We went to our room and tried to get in but the keys did not work. So we went to the front desk and a very nice guy was willing to help us out. But the problem is, he told us that there are no rooms under our name. He did some calling with his manager and turns out she unchecked us in and moved us to the next day for a reservation as well as gave our room to someone else, that u am sure we woke up trying to get into the room. Long story short a very nice front desk guy worked things out to try and get us a room but there were no rooms left. They were able to get us one room that still needed cleaning. We will not be staying here again.

The hotel itself was fine – I've definitely stayed at worse places. What frustrated me the most, though, was that my family and I had been up since 4 AM and were on the road all day. We arrived at the hotel at 3:15 PM for our 3:00 PM check-in, only to be told that our room wasn’t ready and it would be another 5 to 10 minutes. Excellent service at the desk. Personable and friendly. Pool was perfect for the kiddos and the hot tub was hot. Slept well. Quiet. AM breakfast was average.

We did not get to stay there. I booked the room in my Orbitz app a half hour before arriving at the hotel, but when I got to the hotel, the attendant told me there were no rooms available.

With the nice weather that Iowa is still having it was disappointing seeing that the fire pit was already wrapped up for winter and not able to be used. Every time we went to the pool we had to ask for more towels, and then staff would only bring in like 6-8 towels. and on Sunday morning I went back to the pool to find again no towels and went to the front desk. Talked to others that had waited over 30 minutes for staff to show up (it was 7:40 AM) and breakfast was not ready. Breakfast doors did not open up until well after 8:30. This was a huge disappointment. Not sure who didn't show up but there were alot of staff that lacked on Sunday morning. But to have no one available for over 1 hour after calling the front desk, ringing the front desk bell, just not acceptable.

Hot tub/pool was closed for maintenance. Wasn't told this until after I checked in. Waited at front desk to check in for 30 min. Had to call hotel phone # to get someone to come to front desk. Room I booked wasn't cleaned from previous guests. Didn't have another room available with same # of beds. Was finally offered 2 rooms to = the # of beds I needed. Toilet was clogged in new room. The staff wouldn't unclog it for me. They gave me a plunger to do it myself. Would not return to this hotel. Don't recommend.

My family of 4 stayed a night while visiting friends in Ames. Hotel staff was friendly and helpful, the location was good, the rooms were clean, bathroom floors could use a little extra scrubbing in the corners of the floor tiles but overall it was great!

We were on a tight schedule in the morning. We count on breakfasts, and coffee. Breakfast room didn't open until 7:20. We waited in lobby for it to open. Coffee in lobby was cold. The eggs and bacon were barely warm. Was going to have oatmeal instead but need very hot water, asked for some, he filled pump pot with barely warm wster. No microwave in breakfast area to warm up.. We always look for hotels with breakfast as we are just quickly traveling through. Just take a few minutes to tidy up lobby area and halls goes a long ways. Same used bottle of water was still on lobby counter this morning as when we checked in at 7 the evening before. I threw that away while we were waiting. Explains maybe why all the other hotels in area had full parking lots this morning

Breakfast was non-existent, staff refused to restock any items. The hot dishes were ice cold and definitely a health violation. There were no cups or plates. There was 1 heal of bread and all the juice was out. When the "attendant" finally came out of the back room. I asked if any warm food would come out or any of the items that were gone be replenished...her response was if you see it, eat it because nothing else is coming out. She was nasty and rude. She sneezed and had plemy coughs while looking at the food. She made no attempt to cover her mouth or nose. Sneeze and cough were mouth wide open! There were 90 minutes left for breakfast service. The ice machine had slime along the seal and the ice had a rancid smell. For the ridiculous amount paid per night, they should be ashamed. I had 2 stays at other Country Inn reserved for 2024. I canceled them and will never stay at one of their properties again!

Lobby was clean and inviting and the guy that checked us in was very helpful and kind but that's about it. We paid $160 plus taxes and fees. We went down at 9am for breakfast Sunday morning (which was done at 10am) and there was 4 pieces of sausage 3 scoops of eggs 1 piece of white bread and 4 mini bagels. You could make your own waffles as well. The breakfast room was a disaster! Sticky floors, counters, and tables from maple syrup. It appeared nothing had been cleaned since they opened for breakfast. No one was there to assist with any of the previously mentioned items. We were one of 6 people that came down at that time and I felt terrible for the people after us as there was really nothing to choose but juice and a waffle. The trash was full and overflowing. Our room was clean, but dated and office chair all the leather had peeled off and the lounge chair had white stains and holes. Our fridge and heater were very loud. It was a place to sleep as the weather wasn't great, but for what we paid I expected more than what we got.

Upon checking in tried to use hallway restroom, handle was not engaged and prior guest had left it unusable, obviously been that way for days. Notified front desk, he gave me my room key so I could use the room before checking in. Very nice! After checking in and getting all my belongings in and settled for the night, started noticing heater smelled like smoke, air registers were covered in THICK LAYER of dust. Breakfast: Eggs and Sausage Gravy were in warmer, it was on, but it wasn't working. They were both COLD at 8:30 am. I told the guy, he checked them and walked away. Luckily there were other options, like waffels that worked for us guests. Nobody wanted food poisioning as breakfast opened at 6 am. Air vents above breakfast buffet were worse than ones in room. Bed was comfortable, furniture was nice. Just needs a really good DEEP CLEANING as well as VENTS & CARPETS.

This hotel is starting to look run down. Paint was chipping and peeling in our room. The room was very humid, despite the AC, and had a distinct mildew smell. The wood on the bathroom door was swollen, so it didn't close shut.We arrived late and were only staying 1 night, so did not ask for a change. Breakfast was mid.

Room and bed very comfortable and smells amazing( no idea what spray they put it but smells good) Breakfast had a -10! Bagel with mold (I leave it on top of the shell so staff can see it since was unattended) eggs was mixt like the scramble egg was almost done and the put on top the cheese omelette too. Cereal a mess, juices in a jar instead in the machine. Ended eating outside unfortunately.

We will not be staying at this property ever again and suggest you don't either. There was no ice in any machines, the spa was not in working order, there was very cold coffee at front desk and none for breakfast, our bathroom floor was dirty, and no hot water in shower.
