Bed was very comfortable, staff very friendly, and the room was clean. There is no longer a hot tub, only a pool, which was my one disappointment.

No hot water and they lied about having one boiler working. The elevator wasn't working. The staff made it seem like this was recent. When I checked the reviews, this has been the issue for over six months. They need to close until they fix these issues.

Pool was closed. Lots of little maintenance issues that if fixed would make a big difference. (Hole where the light switch should be, scuffed up walls) staff was very friendly, bed comfortable, room clean. Would stay here again.

the hotel was clean, but was a leak from vent in bathroom above the toilet, so not sure if it was toilet water from up above, the pool was cold, then closed for maintenance the next day, the hotel had a dispute with their cable provider so there was no tv service in the hotel. Very disappointed, stayed the first night as we had checked in before being told no tv service, cancelled the next two nights and found a different hotel. Do not recommend this hotel, as the room was clean but no carpet so the room sounded hollow and echoed when you talked, the door didn't seal good, could see the hallway lights through it at night. Could hear the people in the room next door and the people walking in the hallway-word for word what they were saying, not very private or quiet!!! Shower curtain did not close all the way so water on the floor when done, and the shower curtain rod was coming off the wall-like someone had pulled on the curtain or fallen out of tub and hung onto the curtain.

The TV didn't work and the manager didn't care. Did Nothing about it. When I checked out I asked for my bill to check what I was charged and he gave me someone elses 's bill. I won't go back. Way over priced.

The ice tasted really bad, ice machine needs to be cleaned, there were exposed wires running along the top on the hall, tub disnt drain well Pool was nice, was hoping for a hot tub but there was not one Staff was friendly and helpful, breakfast was great, room was average

Elevator was down and we were on the 3rd floor. The hotel carpet is worn and not very clean. Our room was ok but not very clean.Needed A good vacuuming. Ac would not stay on and shower handle fell off when turned on. The hotel was cheap so we did t expect 5 star. This was more like 2 star at best. Bedding was clean and bed comfortable. Guy at the front desh was very nice.

The young man at the front desk when we checked in was excellent. The elevator was out and we were scheduled for a third floor room but he changed it to a second floor so we would only have to climb up one story to get dry rooms. The floor in the hallway on the first floor was wet and soggy.

Where to start, check in was ok, not the friendly service I’ve gotten but, whatever. Got to my room about 2am, the comforter on the bed was dirty and had stains all over it, gross. The floor had crap all over it like nobody vacuumed, my fridge had hair in it, disgusting. The shower had hair all over it and the drain was clogged. Overall, would not recommend and I definitely will never go back. Should have paid a few more dollars to stay at a better hotel. Or kept my $100 and slept in my car.

There was no deadbolt, just the card operated lock and a gap in my door- There were men who looked to be working on something just hanging around the hotel into the evening. My sheets did not look clean, the coffee pot was dirty, the room smelled moldy. I ended up moving to another hotel in the area.

We got to the motel room on Monday afternoon. They gave us a room 210 and it was filthy. I went down to the service desk and they changed our room to 214. That room was filthy did not have towels, washcloths,hand towels, toilet paper or kleenexes? It was so dusty I wrote in it. Please clean me!!!! Dead bugs in window seals. The curtains were not even hung. They were missing hangers and the plastic rounds that the hangers go in. The bathroom tub and shower did not drain so I stood in 4 in of water to take a shower. The mirror had chunks of whatever they wrapped it in out of it. Rusty fixtures and door fixtures but the microwave and refrigerator worked!!! No TV channels except for local. I go down to Iowa City every 3 to 6 months for a doctor checkup so I'm looking for a good motel that is close and I don't have to drive. This was perfect. I will never ever stay again. Never do not recommend it to anyone!!!!!!

Room was dirty (stains on the walls, sticky laminate flooring that turned out very black if we walked around barefoot, white stains all over side of the bed and headboard, contact stuck to mirror) and the tub did not drain the water while showering. Check in front desk ladies were more interested in their friends love life drama to care our room was dirty. They refused to come look at our issues in the room, just shrugged and said sorry, no offer of new room or anything. Night staff was watching movies on the lobby computer when we went down to ask for soap (our room didn't have any) and was annoyed she had to pause her movie. Tossed the soap on the counter for us and walked away without a word. They have a sign saying they had a flood abs were remodeling, but our issues had nothing to do with remodeling, it was pure laziness on cleaning staff, front desk not caring, and rude customer service.

I would definitely not stay again at this hotel. It is rundown and not clean. The tv only had 4 channels which were only PBS. There was no rod or hangers to hang items. The blackout shades would not close at all. It had a random couch that felt out of place and was dirty. When we checked out the worker was very dismissive about our complaint.

The room and other rooms smelled musty. Ours had a distinct fire smell. Ashes in the AC/Heat vent. Trash in the room. Leaky bathroom sink. No tissues. Breakfast needs its own person as the front desk lady, while trying her best, couldn't keep up. Elevator smelled like something was burning.

Room was so-so. Shower curtain had mildew on it, on the bottom. Shower also wasn’t real hot. Guessing they have a heating regulator on it so someone doesn’t “burn” themselves. The sink was plugged so it literally took over an hour to drain when you brushed your teeth or washed your face/hands. Bedding and towels were dingy. Its an older hotel with minimal upgrades.

The room smelt of mildew, the entire motel just reeked. The lamp cover was dirty and didnt work. The remote for the tv didnt work. The tub didnt drain fully. The shower didnt get hot it just got luke warm. The only plus was the bed was okay and clean. Wouldnt stay again.

The staff in the evening was nearly non-existent. Had to walk around the building to find the staff member running the desk. Took over 30 minutes to get into our room. The first room assigned to us was apparently occupied so we had to move from a single King room to a double Queen room. The whole experience was very inconvenient and unprofessional.

I have never had an experience quite like this. I waited over 30 min. for a front desk employee. The person who was supposed to be at the desk never actually showed up. The off going employee finally assisted me. The first room given to me had not been cleaned. The second room that was given to me was actually occupied. At this point I walked out. Do not go to this hotel!

I gave the staff a 3 star rating only because of the amazing lady at checkin. Very disappointment about the response from manager and follow up action. We rented this room and upon arrival had no TV, room was missing fridge, room bathroom had not been cleaned and was missing furniture. Motel in general was not in great shape. Following day at breakfast there were no bowls, coffee cups or coffee (until requested). Our checkin receptionist was amazing and did everything should could to fix issues but was unable to move us. When concerns were shared with the manager the response was there was nothing they could do and I'd have to call Expedia. Very disappointing stay and response from manager. Not what I expected from Comfort In.

Following day at breakfast there were no bowls, coffee cups or coffee (until requested). Our checkin receptionist was amazing and did everything should could to fix issues but was unable to move us. When concerns were shared with the manager the response was there was nothing they could do and I'd have to call Expedia. Very disappointing stay and response from manager. Not what I expected from Comfort In.

There was clearly a water damage issue at the property. They had fans and dehumidifers running 24/7 The elevator did not work. It took 30 minutes for me to get ahold of an employee because no one was at the front desk. When I booked there was no info that said there were problems at this hotel. Do not stay at this property

Great to have an elevator. Close to upscale dining, Xtreme Arena, UIHC clinics, Trader Joe’s, boutique shopping. But right next to heavy industrial area. The breakfast was very unappetizing—cold eggs and a completely empty coffee urn at 7:30 am and no one providing service.

Great peoximity to iowa river landing and 5 minutes to the hospital. My room was clean and comfortable. However for being a non smoking hotel, lots of smoking was happening. Very strong odor in the halls.

Upon arrival, a sign at check-in stated the elevator was out of order. I had not requested a ground floor room. Staff was able to move us to ground floor accommodations. He also gave us excellent suggestions for dinner dining that night. While quite clean and organized itself, the property sits immediate to road construction and what appears to be construction storage area.

Front desk people were not at desk often. The breakfast options were horrible! Cold gravy, only breads and butter and cold gravy... no cereal, cream cheese for bagels nor jam. Only had knives out and had to ask for spoons (no forks). No milk or juice to drink. Only coffee and water. Nothing on website the eating area was under construction. Room was clean.

The hotel was clean, except that we never had room service in a 3-night stay. Breakfast offerings were minimal. (Plenty of options at the convenience store next door). No facial tissue in the room. No hairdryer. Every night when we came back after the day’s activities, we found out that our key cards had become deactivated.

Although my thermostat was set to 63, it never really cooled off during the two nights I stayed; the hot water was warm (at best), my room smelled like a wet basement, the refrigerator was not turned on when i checked in so I had no way of keeping my food cold until it had been running after I plugged it in, all of the juice was empty when I had breakfast, the dining room floor was sticky and none of the tables had been wiped down (breakfast started at 7 and I ate at approximately 7:30 so it wasn't like the dining area had been over-run before I got there). Housekeeping did pick up my room while I was at the VA hospital with my husband and the young man at the front desk was extremely helpful when I checked in

This is an older hotel but it is kept very clean. The neighborhood was quiet but it was a Tuesday night. Their free breakfast was pretty good--waffles, muffins, eggs and sausages, coffee and juices. Overall worth the money!

I wasn't allowed to check in upon arrival, as there was a computer glitch. I waited for over an hour, and even asked if I could just be let into my room (already paid for) and complete the checkin process later. The desk clerk explained that this wasn't allowed. I'm thinking that, given the process already not working, an exception wouldn't have hurt a thing. I eventually left and stayed elsewhere (at no small expense to me). I had no idea how long I might've had to wait. I've NEVER had an experience like this. David, the desk clerk, was very professional and courteous. But I paid for a room and never got it. Also, David explained that if/when I ever did get to check in, the lock on my room was broken and he'd need to let me in each time I left the room. I never got to the room, so this was a moot point.

I was injured on a metal piece of the bed sticking out in my room and the hotel staff did NOTHING when I notified them. No follow-up or any type of compensation. They didn’t even go to the room to look at what caused the injury. The manager had me fill out a report that she was supposed to do herself. The breakfast was not great. Took forever for them to refill coffee and breakfast items. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone and I will never stay there again.

The staff changed the rates and pet fees each day despite paying in advance. I was also charged $608 for 7/18. And I was charged twice for 7/19. I truly caution people from using this hotel.
