The air conditioner was malfunctioning. While it worked, it made a whistling noise like a heated teapot all night and kept us awake. Also keeping us awake was a very gross smell of sweat and grease on the sheets. It wasn’t real strong but enough to make me aware of it and keep me awake. Also, there was no soap or body wash or conditioner in the showers and we ran out of hand soap by the bathroom sink. The first room we were given, was on the first floor, and it was down a few doors from a couple that was having a violent argument and another room that had screaming kids. The situation with the arguing people, made us feel unsafe. Fortunately, they moved us to a different room and we did not have any more issues with noise or arguments.

The good: staff was very friendly and breakfast was good. The bad: our room had obviously been smoked in before despite the non-smoking sign. Very strangely the sink had no cold water! And I don’t mean lukewarm, it was either hot or very hot. So we had to brush our teeth with very hot water. This was an issue in both of our rooms. It was also very humid with a dehumidifier running in the hallway but that did not help in the rooms. We only had a quick 12 hr stay but we still had to wash our kids stuffed animals when we got home because they smelled like smoke.
