I called one day prior to my stay to ensure the pool would be open upon our arrival BEFORE I FINALIZED MY BOOKING. I was told the pool was open until midnight so we will be OK. I booked only 1 day ahead of our trip. We paid $45 more dollars to stay @ this hotel w/ a pool for the kids than surrounding hotels(only reason we chose it) They started tearing up the pool floor (just that morning & they were given "NO NOTICE" according to the desk attendant after we walked to the pool in our swimwear. We weren't even told at check-in!) SOMEONE HIRED PEOPLE TO DO THE WORK-blaming contractors is BAD MANAGEMENT.Breakfast-worker came 2x to stir the gravy while the coffee, juice, and milk were empty. Toaster too small to fit the size of the bread offered. No fresh fruit to be seen. Typical frozen omelets, biscuits and gravy, and cereal were available. Overall, rooms and hallways had average cleanliness. They were obviously changing out alarm systems of some sort and there were holes in the wall everywhere. Toilet in our room (226) ran constantly. Mystery burn marks and stains on the bedroom carpet and trash in the windowsill. Wasn't worth the mid-grade price they were charging and attendant didn't offer any recompense for our obvious frustration. We were taking a repeat trip from the previous year and will not stay here again. For $45 less per night we had an excellent breakfast, pool& hot tub at the Quality Inn in nearby Fort Dodge. Every hotel has issues, but we felt ROBBED!

We were check on our ailing dad but decided to leave a day early. The hotel said they would not charge for the next day but couldn't due to I booked hotel through hotels.com. So i contacted hotels.com, they indicated they would waive any charge if hotel would okay . Hotels.com said hotel wouldnt waive the fee. Who is telling the truth. Also, The pool area needs a good cleaning. The deck was redone last year. The deck granules get on your feet and in the pool and hot tub

This property itself was very clean. Good location. The room and restroom were also clean. The bed was comfortable. This hotel has an amazing indoor pool. I definitely recommend this hotel.

Got there and the “system” was down so the front desk lady took pictures of everyone’s credit cards on her personal phone, which no one was happy about obviously. The pool was ICE cold and the hot tub was broke. The rooms were alright but kind of dirty

First the room was recently remodeled, furniture was replaced with what I would refer to as IKEA style furniture. Functional, but nothing special. There was also no clock in the room, or phone, both small things, but something you notice when they are not there. Now to our real issues, the website listed a pool and hot tub available. However after we checked in we were informed by a staffer the pool was out of commission due to an ongoing issue with the chlorination unit. Another staffer indicated the hot tub had been out of commission for more than three months and a look at the current listing no longer indicates a hot tub, tho it is still visible in the photos and our receipt also list the pool and hot tub as amenities. Now, I understand equipment goes down, but after a month it is no longer down for repairs, after three month it is intentionally not being repaired. If we had know, we would have book in Ames, IA instead.

There was no hot tub even though it said it had one. Pool bottom was so wore out it made it look dirty. The grass outside the rooms was super tall. Windows of the room were filthy. The orange and apple juice were pure water. My daughter cried and cried to leave but they refused a refund.

Chose for the pool. However pool was closed for repairs. This is twice at 2 different Americinns I've been disappointed with due to pools being out of service. I won't be making this mistake again. I will go somewhere else.

We booked a room, king fireplace suite, with no issues. When we arrived we recieved our keys, only 1 of witch worked. Upon entering our room we were pleasantly suprised at its large size. Until we noticed the pee all over the toilet seat and the toothpaste strip in the sink. Our room had not been cleaned since the last guest! Whirlpool walls were gritty and gross. We immediately went to the staff and requested a new room. Our request was granted but we weren't able to get a fireplace room again so we just stayed in the king suite w/ whirlpool. This room was cleaner, except for the towels, some had strange orange spots with dirt surrounding. No refund or discount given. I would look for different accommodation next time.

All the workers were quite helpful and pleasant. The room was very clean and well supplied with toiletries.

Carpets were dirty throughout. Floor in bathroom dirty around the edges. Took 3 trips to the front desk to get a key to open the room door and then only half the time it worked

I found a foil wrapper (like a peel off lid to an applesauce cup or something similar) in my breakfast. I had scooped cheesy eggs with hash browns out of of the warming tray and found it before I even went to sit down. I told the staff person who was stocking the breakfast area and she just shrugged her shoulders and said I scooped the tray too hard and it was foil that peeled off in my food. (I hadn’t scooped too hard, the spoon didn’t even touch the bottom or sides of the warmer. I ended up throwing it all away and not even eating breakfast. The room had a used bar of soap in it. And there never was a worker at the front desk for me to tell about the issue with the food at breakfast. Would not recommend this place.

Rooms were clean. Hotel was clean, and spacious well lit parking.

My room key just decided to quit working so had to go get it replaced, this happen to a couple of us in my party. One took a half hour to get them back in their room. We had no lightbulbs in our bathroom, the cover was laying on the sink counter for the light. The phone was unplugged and wrapped up, there was an open bar of soap in my shower, and the wall protector for the door was covered in tape and that was covered in paint but yet there was missing drywall and paint all over the room. I asked to get me lightbulbs and they offered to move me to another room but I had my dog and kids already settled there, I asked to just give me lightbulbs for us to put in and she said maintenance was gone and she couldn’t get into the locked shed for one. I just dealt with it. This is the only really clean decent spot in WC but I feel it’s going down very fast!

Nice clean room, good breakfast

Came in late and left early morning. I noticed there was a clog in the tub which I wanted to give a heads up to the staff. When I needed to use the toilet, I opened the lid and found a really bad clog. Luckily, I changed my mind about using the toilet and flushed the clog which went down 5 mins later. I’ll attach a picture of the aftermath. I decided not to use the toilet. (Not sure how housekeeping missed this one)

It was clean and neat-- staff was fine, not particulaly friendly but no unfriendly either. Air conditioner ran all night and iced up the window.

Staff was unfriendly and couldn't give the time of day. The room smelled wet and mildewy, with a touch of weird industrial perfume that you would smell in cat litter. Couldn't turn the AC up, beds were advertised as Queen but we're not queens, they were full and too tiny for two people to sleep on. Also mattresses were extremely uncomfortable.

Nice job place but a little out dated

The suite was good.

Internet was not hi-speed. I could not complete essential work though connected. Everything else was well---but being down the hall---perhaps too much for the system they have at the time I was there.

The ladies at the front are always a treat to see! Engaging, funny and smiling faces🌼💐🌺 I truly appreciate them 🎁

Excellent service. For some reason only one of my reservations from hotels.com was registered with the hotel but the front desk was very helpful and made sure we had a second room.

Slow check in with inexperienced staff member. I wish there was an exercise room. Other AmericInn’s seem to have them. Room was clean and large.

I was traveling in the area and had to stop because of the weather. I booked online but unfortunately chose the wrong location in a neighboring city. I called right away to cancel but my request was denied. I considered driving there but the weather conditions were hazardous, so I paid for a night at another AmericInn location. I am a regular AmericaInn customer, and was extremely disappointed by their decision to deny my refund request. Would definitely not recommend.

(I hadn’t scooped too hard, the spoon didn’t even touch the bottom or sides of the warmer. I ended up throwing it all away and not even eating breakfast. The room had a used bar of soap in it. And there never was a worker at the front desk for me to tell about the issue with the food at breakfast. Would not recommend this place.

Staff very professional and polite

Usually pretty good place, average and clean. There is an elderly lady working the front desk, brunette and long hair. She needs some lessons in customer service. She’s rude and condescending. Perhaps it wasn’t a good day for her.

Nice place to stay if you are going to the farm progress show. 30 miles away stright south on 17 out of hotel. Nice eating places downtown, about 2 miles away on 2nd street mostly. Hotel has delivery options, but we did not use them.

Property is just off interstate must travel to dine

Easy access. Wasn't a pleasant night though. Developed Covid symptoms which escalated during the night. Nice room but must have picked up Covid in Colorado a few days earlier.

Super accessible and prepared for late arrival. Clean room. Wish they hadnt run out of coffee for breakfast.

I loved staying in a hotel surrounded by corn fields. The staff was very friendly and made a family reunion even better.

Breakfast was good!

A fairly new facility. I have a small dog and the pet poop bags dispenser was empty and I could tell it had been empty for a long time so I asked for bags. I was told that the staff had asked the owner for refills “a long time ago but we never got them”. The cleanliness was just so-so. I always bring a spray can of Lysol with me so I managed. The bed was comfortable but there were no extra blankets and the weather was cold and rainy. The breakfast was ok if you want a heavy, hot meal. For the rest of us: a few yogurts and only apples for fruit. No containers of milk for cereal. Cups and sugar were only available at the coffee kiosk in the lobby so I had to run back and forth from lobby to dining area. There were 3 kinds of cold cereal. The juice dispenser was always empty the 4 days I was there. The staff were friendly and courteous. The pool was booked solid with kids’ birthday parties. Most inconvenient: they only have ONE luggage cart!!!

Very nice hotel we enjoyed our stay. Only suggestion is having a separate breakfast person. Front desk was stretched thin trying to run the desk and the breakfast. Breakfast items were frequently running out and not filled.

Everything great except breakfast. They ran out of coffee. The juice machine was broke. There were eggs but no sausage or bacon.

Very comfortable, clean, comfortable pillows and bed. Very pleased with stay, good breakfast. The biscuits and gravy were very good.
