The lobby was beautiful, the smell was too citrus based, the entrance to the pool and the fitness center had dirty rags though, the fitness center was hot and humid too. The front desk agent was nice when we checked in, but when we checked out, that front desk agent was abrupt and rude and was sitting and eating. She didn't seem to want to help. The agents should tell us where the amenities are when we check in but didn't. The room was ok, not enough toilet paper though, the towels were right by where the toilet is. The pillows were uncomfortable and there were crumbs on the couch. Breakfast was good. There was trash outside left, a general manager or housekeeper needs to do a walk around every morning but obviously didn't. The elevator was dirty and destroyed looking on the walls. Overall, ok stay. Not great. Ok.

Excellent hotel within seconds of highway entrance (I80). Super clean, quiet, updated rooms with very comfortable bed and bedding, modern furniture and decor, huge TV, nice bathroom and walk-in shower with great lighting. NO yucky carpet, it’s all hard flooring in pristine condition! The grounds are clean with a large grassy area alongside the building to walk my little dog. Self parking is plentiful and convenient right outside the front door. Pleasant, friendly staff make this hotel a great pick! I’ve stayed here previously when passing through Iowa and would stay again! Highly recommend West DesMoines Marriott!

Beautiful property. We had a key card issue. But they rectified it right away. I love that after a loooong day of travel we could order dinner in our room. And pre order breakfast delivered so we can be on our way. The rooms are phenomenal!

We’ll stay here again for sure! Breakfast was expensive, so we chose to not buy it. But it looked good. The property has been renovated and it’s very nice and so clean! Literally the bed was so perfect! We immediately relaxed and slept amazingly!

They had a maintenance issue and didn’t have a double bed room like I had reserved. They took care of it quickly by giving us 2 rooms for the price of 1. You learn most about a business when things aren’t going as planned and they passed with flying colors. The night manager was amazing!

The agents should tell us where the amenities are when we check in but didn't. The room was ok, not enough toilet paper though, the towels were right by where the toilet is. The pillows were uncomfortable and there were crumbs on the couch. Breakfast was good. There was trash outside left, a general manager or housekeeper needs to do a walk around every morning but obviously didn't. The elevator was dirty and destroyed looking on the walls. Overall, ok stay. Not great. Ok.

The lobby was beautiful, the smell was too citrus based, the entrance to the pool and the fitness center had dirty rags though, the fitness center was hot and humid too. The front desk agent was nice when we checked in, but when we checked out, that front desk agent was abrupt and rude and was sitting and eating. She didn't seem to want to help. Beautiful property. We had a key card issue. But they rectified it right away. I love that after a loooong day of travel we could order dinner in our room. And pre order breakfast delivered so we can be on our way. The rooms are phenomenal!

A great selection for breakfast even had Starbucks coffee. My only suggestion would be that they have more then one washcloth per occupant for overnight. Two would be best. We will be back and totally recommend.

I thought that charging $10 for breakfast was very tacky, to be honest Just include it and you will win in The PR category. Really not a good look for Marriott which really should have more class than that. It was a “do it yourself” breakfast not made to order. Do better!!

Had horrible service at the bar. It was my birthday and they were absolutely terrible. Wouldnt get us drinks seeemed pissed we didnt want to order food. And wouldnt cash us out. They disappeared multiple time for 10 to 15 mind and i had to get the front desk and then we had to add to the room because they wouldnt cash us out.

We’ll stay here again for sure! Breakfast was expensive, so we chose to not buy it. But it looked good. The property has been renovated and it’s very nice and so clean! Literally the bed was so perfect! We immediately relaxed and slept amazingly!

Wow! What a top notch member of the Marriot Brand. We were coming in for the State Fair and a concert so I called day before to see if we could have an early check in or atleast leave our bags at the hotel since we would not be coming back until very late at night. They said to call as we were heading into DSM and check if our room was ready and so we did and got to check in by around 1:30 that day. Room was very nice. Clean and so quiet. And spotless.. . We slept like babies. The staff is awesome and they genuinely seem to like being there and what they do. One of the ladies was from Bosnia working with the other young man at check in and I loved talking with her as we shared similar cultures and spoke some of the same languages. We usually stay at Marriott’s and will stay here again- we’ve already told some of our friends how nice it was and half of what we pay to stay at the Surety downtown DM and honesty it’s only a short drive to anywhere you want to go. Cannot recommend enough.
