Pool was out of order.

The latch lock was broken on my door a BIG SECURITY issue The shower had moldy caulk all around the floor of shower The elevator was dirty on first day and broken on last day The pool has been out of service for my last three stays I do not plan on staying here again

Rooms really need updating. Beds good. Tv not your fault but stations sucked. Breakfast just ok. But what really was the kicker is we booked there for the indoor pool and couldn’t use it because heater was broke. We would have not stayed there without pool. Don’t know if we will be back there we go to Alton often as we have family living there.

We booked this room because the hotel had a pool. Afte a long hot motorcycle ride we wanted to cool off. Upon arriving and checking we were informed the pool was closed. Hotel.com did not have this on their website. Very disappointed they we didn’t know before booking the room.

Staff was very friendly and bed was comfortable; however, facility is in need of refurbishment. Plumbing didn't work well, there was crumbling drywall in the bathroom, pool wasn't clean and heater was out, carpet was nasty (and very ugly). Also right next to train tracks, trains passed several times a night.

Booked room cause of pool. Pool out of order. No discount offered. Was advised hotel did not have a manager to talk to. It was just too bad. Was not worth the price. Staff was rude.

The staff were great and they would get 5 stars but unfortunately they were the only good thing about this stay. My room door didn’t lock without a serious struggle both from the outside and the in. My bathroom door was broken and also didn’t shut all the way. The pool was out of order and apparently had been for months but there was no indication of this when booking.

Got this hotel specifically for the indoor pool. First thing we see when we walk in is a pool out of order taped up on the desk.

Booked this hotel specifically for the pool and there was no notice the pool was closed prior to booking. No refunds. Quite annoying.

The pool was out of order (we booked there for the pool). We paid for a double queen and got a double full size. Staff was more interested in talking to each other or being on their phone instead of helping guests. They allowed people to smoke dope right outside the front door and the entire 3rd floor smelled like weed. We will never stay there again. Someone needs to vet the locations better. Very disappointing stay.

I have always stayed at Comfort Inns in Wisconsin and enjoyed my time there. I had to book a hotel for two weeks in Alton, so naturally I chose Comfort Inn. After my second night there, I noticed bites on my neck. Every day after that I notice more bites. Saturday night I notified the front desk that I am pretty sure my room has bed bugs. Someone from the front desk came up to look at my bites and apologized. He gave me a new key for a new room. By Monday morning I had to go to the walk-in clinic and get a steroid shot because my body became allergic to the bites. The hospital I was doing my training at had to call infection control in, as a precaution to make sure nothing travelled in with me. When I was finally able to check out, the person at the front desk asked me how my stay was. I responded "itchy". She asked me why, and I had said that my room was changed a week ago due to bed bugs. She said that no one had reported that room and they have been having guests stay in that room after Saturday. To me, that is absolutely unacceptable. It's one thing that I got over 70 bites, but they didn't do ANYTHING when it was brought to their attention. I truly hope they will take bed bugs more seriously in the future.

The bed was comfortable Bathroom had mold on floor and in shower.

The staff-especially at the front desk-were so kind and accommodating! Lovely employees…our room in particular was clean, but smelled like cigarettes, and the hallway smelled heavily of marijuana. I would still go back again, because the associates were so kind, but hopefully they crack down on the smoking policy

The front desk employees were nice & helpful. Maid service came in daily. However, the room is in desperate need of a deep clean. Furniture and bedding needs updating as well

Everything. Worst experience in a hotel in 15+ years at least. Drove 4 hours to get there, first thing hand written note that said the Pool out of order. Check in wasn’t bad. Directed me to park in the ear of the hotel and come in that door so I did. Walked in and the overwhelming smell of marijuana was just ridiculous. Went up the elevator to my 3rd floor room. Room across the hall was ajar with loud people in there. Room smelled like mushrooms or mold. Turn the fan on to help. Window would open with no screen (which I believe Is illegal). Bathroom faucet leaked. Left for a bit came back and the room smelled like marijuana so bad. Put the bathroom fan on to help it didn’t. Air conditioner then heat trying to get it out. Slept about 2 1/2 hours the whole night. Smell made me sick to my stomach. Called front desk. Was told she wasn’t allowed to wave the desk and go to certain floors. (There was 3). Said she’d tell the person coming in at midnight about the smell. Told her I waa Getting sick from the smell. Nothing happened. Doors slamming, shouting at 12:56am. Then started again at 6:07 am. My shoes turned black on the bottom from the floors. In the morning I went Down and told them I wanted A refund and not staying the second night. The staff never told him I’d called down earlier. They apologized. Said I’d get a refund. We’ll see I will Be contacting hotels.com to check on that. I have Photos of all. This place should be closed and knocked down.

The rooms were terrible and nasty! The carpet and chair had a sticky film on it. The bathtub was awful!! It stunk. I will not go back tobtuat location again.

The room and bathroom were clean and the bed was comfortable. Things had been painted more recently than any other updates, but it appeared that most things were original to the building. The hallway carpets were very worn and probably beyond looking clean even if they'd been shampoos recently. The doors to the rooms and bathrooms were chipped/cracked/scuffed on both sides. Breakfast was supposed to begin at 6:00 but at 6:15 the hot items still weren't out and we had to get on the road There's are a few other observations (not criticisms as they didn't impact our stay) It seemed like most other guests I saw there were laborers/workers staying there while working in town. The ratings for this Comfort Inn were a 7 and above. But this was not my experience. After booking so late I was unable to change. As I went up to the room I became stuck in the elevator for a number of minutes. I yelled for help, I picked up the phone to call, and also hit the alarm button with no response. I also tried to go back down to the first floor. I could hear the elevator trying to open. After about 4 minutes or so they opened . Since I am not a fan of elevators this was stressful and traumatic. The first room smelled weird. There was a spider on the wall. The young man gave me a second room after everything and said it was the best. It most resembled the picture on Expedia. It didn’t smell as weird as the first but and I to stay since I could not change the booking time. The sheets and pillowcases had stains on them. I bought sheets to sleep on top. There was debris on the floor. When I tried to turn on the heat. It was about 50 degrees or so. It smelled like it was going to catch fire. I turned it off and slept cold. Finally the morning I was to leave the toilet over flowed. Initially I thought it was the water running long as it did the night before but when I went to go look. There was water on the floor. I called down stairs with the room phone that had so much static. I had to repeat a couple of times. When the desk person came up. He couldn’t find the mop so he brought a towels to cheap clean up the overflow of toilet water.

The climate of the room was fine , my shower water was not warm enough. The door on the room was very bent and let a lot of light and noise in. I didnt feel very secure. Breakfast didnt offer very much the 1st morning and was worse the next morning.

Curtains were missing, air conditioner/ heater inoperable. Was too tired to complain and get stuff packed up to try to get another room.

Really enjoyed our stay. Only had one issue. The air conditioner ended up leaking water in the floor and causing the carpet to get soaked.

The shower drain was clogged which we did not know until we got up the next morning to try to take showers. Because we were there on a holiday weekend, there was no maintenance available. We had to move to an alternate room. In that second room, the beds were very tall. I am a short person and had a very difficult time getting into the bed. In room 307, the beds should be shortened. The staff reacted quickly to move us to another room.

Bed was comfortable. Shower didn’t work, had to take a bath.

The air didnt work in my room, but it was still comfortable. Rooms were clean, breakfast was good, check in staff was ok.

The good: bed was comfortable, air conditioning worked, shower water pressure and temperature were great, room was clean. The bad: one of two rooms smelled of smoke, water in the bathroom sink trickled out, toggle lock on door was broken, orange juice dispenser in breakfast room squirted water, coffee was luke warm, in general the hotel was very dated.

Could not get the shower to turn on. The exhaust fan in the bathroom was very noisy. Could not get the radio to turn off. Windows were cloudy. Bed was comfortable. Heater worked great.

It was always clean and the front desk workers were very helpful; along with the maintenance staff.

HORRIBLE! Christina the front desk manager is crazy and extremely rude! Doesn’t know what she’s doing and threatened to call the police because I was upset you didn’t have the room that I booked and she had no idea why??!! Don’t stay here !

I liked the continental breakfast..i felt like i was always bothering the afternoon guy from his P5 playing and phone conversations..ill choose differently next time

Outstanding employees and Remarkable Service

Hotel was clean. Pool was nice. Room was nice. I am extremely disappoint with the customer service. My Mother in Law took our four boys to Alton to visit family. She is in the best health she's been in years and finally was able to make this trip. It is a trip she has been dreaming of going on for a while now. She is fully capable of taking care of our kids even though there are four of them. She is a full time teacher still as well. The kids were not at the hotel, but only 3-4 hours max a day as they were mostly visiting sites and family. They would leave after breakfast and a come back around 8pm and be sleeping by 10pm. We are in the resort industry and our kids know how to behave in public! The manager told my mother in law she was too old to be doing this and incapable of containing four children on her own. This is a family friendly hotel! Several times they threatened to kick her out for noise complaints. They were extremely mad the 7 year old was getting his own cereal in the morning with her present. She just felt extremely unwelcome and didn't know what to do about it. Very disappointing and won't be going back.

I booked 2 rooms. First room the shower didn't work. 2nd room the toilet was broke. Front desk said we would have to use the public bathroom on the 1st floor as maintenance wouldn't be back till the morning. Told them that was unacceptable, they said we could upgrade at an additional cost, again I said that's unacceptable. Finally after talking to a manager we were moved to a new room.

Just about everything was great! My only complaint is the location of the hotel. It is located very very close to train tracks, so if you're a light sleeper, I'd pass. But like I said, I have nothing else to complain about! Staff was super nice!

Beds were surprisingly comfy but the trains that run behind the tree line you can hear it almost every half an hour, and those were noisy.

Ok for a one night stay. Dingy, noisy.

The hotel staff was beyond friendly, very accommodating and helpful. The breakfast food was very good. The only thing was is that the room needed Lots of updating and definitely more lighting.

Check in was nice, the staff on arrival was very kind. Room was pretty clean but sink was leaking all over the countertop. There were bugs in the juice and the milk was spoiled at breakfast. Very little variety of food options at breakfast. Both nights when we got back to the hotel our key card no longer worked and we had to go all the way back down the the front desk. This was very frustrating with small, tired children. Sometimes front desk staff was outside of hotel socializing and one time she was sleeping in the back at like 8pm. We’ve been a few times before this but this time felt like a different hotel and we won’t be returning.

Breakfast options plenty. Appreciated the micro, fridge, hairdryer. Shower could use a safety grab bar.

I am tea drinker. The hot water dispenser at breakfast contained tepid water three mornings which is unacceptable. The floor in my room was not vacuumed two mornings.
