Remodeling left the area dusty with building material lying around.

Clerk went above and beyond to accommodate me which was awesome They do need to disclose that they do not have an elevator

Cannot wait to see the remodeled Super 8! We stayed at this hotel as part of a conference; it was much more affordable than other lodging in the area. Yes, the place is very much in need of a facelift. But the rooms were very clean, including the service areas such as the breakfast bar. And the staff is SUPER nice! They were fun and polite, and the owners were there, too, to get our feedback and wish us well. And yes, they are renovating the hotel! The hotel lost points with me because, although nice and clean, the fixtures need replacing due to age and wear, and the walls need painting. The carpet was clean, but could use replacing soon, too. And the owners are doing it! They are going room by room so as to keep the chaos to a minimum for guests. I cannot wait to come back next year and see the new facility.

It’s not a total dump but it’s not very nice either. To be fair, I think they’re remodeling right now but there’s lots of issues besides that. If you have $100 and don’t want to sleep outside, then this is your place.

The owners were very personable and friendly. They were in the remodeling process so the place wasn't totally spotless, but our room was very clean and comfortable.

This place was very ideal for my stay. Very quite and clean. There’s no elevator so be use to walking the stairs, but other than that this place is quite the find.

This property is currently under renovation. No where was this mentioned during the booking process. Piles of filthy, old carpet left by the stairs with a horrible odor. Room door was ill fitting making it difficult to open and shut. No cups in room. Tub leaks. Breakfast selection was meager and no syrup for the waffles. I had stayed at this hotel previously and was very disappointed at how the location has deteriorated. Doubtful I will stay again.

Dirty and smelled

Good location. Property is old and dirty. Couldn't hardly see out of the windows they were so dirty. Hair on the tub.

"The room was very clean, but it had a musty, moldy smell when entering. The outlet next to the bed was a little messed up - it was loose and I would not use it for my charger. The bathroom light switch was also not properly fitted in the wall. Additionally, the shower head leaked more water down the tub than out the front, causing the floor next to the tub to be flooded after a shower. This is probably what leads to the musty, moldy smell when entering the room, as you come right past the bathroom when entering."

Disgustingly filthy room. We did not stay!

This place is a dump. It stinks everywhere. All fabrics stained including carpets in hallways.

The condition of this room and the bedding was so bad that we left. Would never sleep on the stained and soiled mattress covers.

For the price point it was an average room. The room needs little repairs. Painting, sealing, caulking. Corners need cleaning…especially in bathroom. Chip on sink. A general deep cleaning and annual upkeep.

I have stayed with this hotel location in the past and it was nice and clean. In the few years since it has gone way down. Mold smoke smell Marijuana use in the building smell of sewer and obfious roof leaks through the building. I will not be staying again.

The walls in the bathroom were filthy. The bathtub was cracked and chipped. The staff checking in and checking out was rude.

The bedsheets were dirty. They had hair, crumbs and stains all over the sheets and throughout the bed. I had to request sheets and comforter to make the bed myself with clean sheets.

Room was near the laundry so was intermittently a bit noisy. Staff was pleasant and accommodating.

Quiet cheap

Wyndham Motel 8 of Alton was a decent place to stay. If you wanted to take a bath there were no stoppers to plug the hole to keep the water in the tub.Very cold air. Woke up to something running very loud. Please note your key card stop working around 10:30. Really it was just ok.

It was a decent stay. It was comfortable and had two chairs, which is always important. Both my husband and I want chairs rather than be on the bed. Space was a little tight, but we made it work/

It's nice and quiet

Nice place overall. Somewhat noisy due to many people hanging out at back entrance. I did not have any interaction with staff other than check in and check out. I did not have any issues with the room or amenities.

On a Monday night or room is over $200 and we arrived 2 hours early from out of state, nowhere else to go and they charged us $75 to check in, refused a discount despite hotels.com calling them, being less than half capacity, having the room ready, and in spite of us making them aware that that was all the money we had to spend at the hotel. They got their money up front and didn't care whether we enjoyed ourselves or not.The room was nice and clean but out of three TVs two did not work there were lights on the stairs that were on all night long making it impossible to sleep, the AC didnt work, the hotel bar overcharged us $60 for fries and three drinks?? All the other stores and restaurants were closed and the casino games are TIGHT Also construction noise began about 1 am, continueing throughout the night even as we checked out we recorded it. letting the hotel know about it they asked if we told anyone our complaints? I asked why? We stated our situation checking in, you refused to do anything to make our stay worthwhile. Hotels.com could do nothing to help us which was a huge letdown and the hotel just came across as Petty, greedy and thoughtless. All the restaurants were closed stores were closed and the hotel offered no valet, no bellman and no reason to ever stay there again. Go to Vegas,stay at a hotel for a WEEK and have a blast for less than ONE NIGHT here! TRUE STORY

Just a inexpensive clean room for a layover. Halls showing age but nonetheless clean place.

Our experience with this Super 8 is always excellent. Every time we come to town we always choose this hotel due to the staff is always so friendly & take excellent care of us. Will continue to come here.

The front desk staff were fantastic. Very friendly, and very accommodating as we were in town for a wedding and needed an early check in - let us in no charge, no problems. We were very thankful. The out premises itself were OK, however the inside did have a musty smell to it. After running the A/C in the room all night it didn’t go away. Other than that, it was a pleasant stay.

Extremely clean and the staff are all polite, friendly, and extremely helpful.

Had an overnight stay at Super 8 at 1800 Homer Adams Parkway 62002 Checked in Saturday November 2nd I asked for a downstairs room because it did not appear for the parking lot had any cars in it was told by the staff that they can only book me on the top floor. Stayed room 303 and in the morning a service worker knocked on the door to tell the time and the time to check out, but what I don't understand is why didn't call me because there's a phone in the room. The service worker was rude and needs training.

The lady who checked us in was so friendly and helpful. She gave us a room close by when she saw my husband is diasbled. Thanks so much!

We always stay at this motel when we travel to Alton. The staff is always friendly and courteous and they go out of their way to be helpful with anything we need.

Rude workers that don't want to work

Bed had dirty sheets. Carpets dirty and computers down and dispensers at breakfast for juice and no eggs or even bananas. Staff rude and very un professional. Never stay at this super 8 again and have used at least twice a month. Never again

Of particular note, the staff is great! So refreshing to be greeted politely! We had a clean room, hot shower, and great AC. Nice, safe location.

There were homeless hanging around door. Drugs, drinking, fighting, a gun involved. Pounded on door connecting rooms at 2:30 am. So afraid I stayed up The rest of the night. Police were there twice. No ice bucket or cups. No coffee pot. No breakfast. Waffle maker no mix or syrup. No toaster no coffee

Property had questionable characters outside

Interesting group of individuals that congregate at night in the front and back of the hotel in the “non smoking” area.

We make several trips a year to this area to visit friends and family. This is where we always stay. It's centrally located and economical for us. The staff is friendly and courteous

There were unregistered guests spending the night around the hotel exterior. Some brought their own chairs, some sitting on the curb. We saw a total of four or five while we were there. There was a sign at the hotel regarding locals having to pay $150 deposit because of the issues they have with locals hanging out around the hotel. When entering you could smell that someone was or had been smoking marijuana outside the back entrance. The interior of the hotel smelled awful. A mixture of musty, dirty, rotten. The bedding had bleach spots and something crusty on it. When we were checking out the desk clerk was asleep at the desk. We were scheduled to stay two nights. We checked out the second evening and took a loss because they refused to refund us, even after our complaints. I will never stay at this hotel again. I would sleep in my car first.

Good place to stay for a short term at at a good price. Area is safe. No issues at all.

Friendly staff, good location and quiet

Totally old and dirty. Breakfast was a joke! Most everything was empty! We had to go out for breakfast.

Everything was clean. It was a little crowded. They were very friendly and I could understand them when they talked. We specifically needed a room on the first floor, because we had one in a wheelchair. For breakfast we were offered to cook our own waffle, have cold cereal and donuts, have .oatmeal which we could make ourselves. There were milk, apple juice, and orange juice. I don't know about coffee, since I don't drink it, I did not pay attention. The bathroom was ok. There was a chip out of the counter the sink was in. The ice machine was not too far from our door. There were vending machines in the lobby. We had a frig and a microwave.

Difficult to figure out how to enter the property to begin with. Was told that to check in an hour early would cost an extra $30. Definitely the first time I've been told that at any hotel. I was also told that since my license was local that I would be charged a "cash" deposit. I no longer lived here and that was evident from my registration. Room was far from being up to date. Bathroom lighting was very dim and the caulking around the shower area was applied horrendously. People need to take pride in their work, and this was far from anything to be proud of. There were no elevators to reach the upper floors. If you have any physical limitations, such as I did during this trip, it is going to be a rough stay. Breakfast was disappointing as well. There was waffles and that was it. Coffee was decent though. If I have anything at all that could be taken as a compliment, it would be that I've learned that my next visit I will seek accomodations elsewhere and for that I am thankful.

As soon as you walk in you can smell the bad odor. Or smelled like wet dog and faces. Staff was very slow. Place was dark and filthy. They clearly do not clean the place. There were people hanging outside that looked homeless. Don’t stop here! Keep driving. We didn’t even attempt to eat their breakfast. There’s no way we were going to risk that. This is definitely not a family style stay.

When I turned down the blanket on the bed the top sheet had stains on it, several. The hallway stank because they had huge leaks in the ceiling. Therecwere no paper cups or plastic cups in the room. The continental breakfast was barren, but the coffee was good.
