Extended Stay America Suites - Chicago - Gurnee

Mostly clean except for hair all over the bathroom. Elevator was broke and a 3rd floor room sucked because of it. They should put things like that on the website.

Stayed at this hotel as an alternative to Super 8 across the street. We normally stay there b/c it is close to Six Flags. The Super 8 reviews were terrible, therefore we looked for an alternative. Rooms clean, but sink clogged for our stay rm (306), Surprised NO coffee maker or coffee in rooms! The noise from the Hwy kept all three of us up. And for one night the people next room were loud! Manager had to come and tell them to turn down the noise. Surprised did not have coffee "all" day in reception area. Close to Olive Garden, Crackle Barrell and a Speedway. One light down from Six Flags: aka convenient! Would not stay again, b/c of the price. overall rating: Good

Good stay, the dishes specifically the pots, are cleaned but need to be replaced a lot of char and burn marks in the pans. Some smaller cosmetic issues but other than that everything was great. Staff was extremely helpful and there is always someone available to help you. The laundry area was easy to use and worked well. Overall I give this place a 3.8/5

In severe need of repair. All of the furniture is chipped/cracked and most of the drawers, cabinets, bathroom mirrors were broken. Shower fixtures are cracked. Cracks are “sealed” with heavy and messy caulking. The hotel attracts a clientele that plays loud music from their cars. The staff are disinterested in checking people in/out. There are no amenities (shampoo, etc) aside from one bar of soap. They make you sign an agreement not to provide alcohol to minors or to traffic humans, making you feel that you are in the wrong place. Website pictures are misleading. We booked the room for its proximity to six flags, they claim you can walk there — you cannot. It’s at the end of a road that loops around so it LOOKS like it’s closer, but there are hotels that actually are closer and appear better maintained. I can not recommend this property

All was good with the property. The only thing that I disagree with is having to ask for kitchen items from the front desk. An extended stay should have the items already in the kitchen. The guest shouldn't have to ask for the items in my opinion...

It was terrible my mother got bitten by bedbugs had to leave one room and scared to sleep in the other room

This hotel needs attention in the cleaning department.

Floor needed mopping—black with dirt that appeared when wiping up something. Long hair in bed. No breakfast. Expensive. Convenient. Quiet.

Our stay was horrible this is not a hotel at all it low income houseing the room smelled horrible and very dusty everything had stains the fridge was yellow everything was just gross people were loud and fighting all night

We left and refused to sleep there. The room smelled, the window was broken, a lamp was broken, and the toilet wouldn't flush.

We flew in from California for my sons Navy graduation. We arrived around midnight. Check in was easy and the lady was very nice and helpful. We got to our room and everything looked good until my 5 year old needed to use the restroom. I was shocked to say the least. Fecal matter splatter on the toliet lid and underneath the lid. It was so late my husband had to clean it. What made matters worse was next morning my husband went to speak to the manager about it and he actually jumped down my husbands throat saying he personally checked it prior to arrival and it was clean. The lady at check in had to run up to our room to see if the room was vacant before giving us that room.We have absolutely no reason to make something up like this. The guy was so worried about us leaving a bad review and actually brought in race about the lady that helped us when we checked in. Uhh no we had no intentions on leaving any review. But after this I had to. What was most upsetting is he didn’t offer to come look it to send a maid. It was all about us writing a bad review on him, So 3 days and not once did we have anyone come clean the room. Not once! This is 2nd time staying at a extended stay of America and sadly my last. Do better and trust that not everyone is lying. That was disgusting and awful to have to clean. I did take photos also

I liked that I was able to check in and out efficiently. The whole process was quick and easy. The room was clean and comfortable.

The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. BUUUUT I found trash from a previous person’s stay in my room, on the floor so I don’t feel like my room cleaned well at all. The fridge leaked a ton of water on the floor, and our toilet got clogged on first night. Don’t recommend this place at.

The venting for stoves and bathroom were not good so the smell hung around. We were unsuccessful in trying to change my reservation at the end and ended up paying for our full stay anyways

Outdated furnitures and bathroom.

Friendly staff. Room was clean. Nice size. The mini kitchen comes in handy for cooking. There is a pet free of $25 a day for the 1st 5 days and $10 a day after that. I enjoyed our 2 week stay and I would stay again if I had to.

Over all very clean, however I got the wrong size bed when I asked for a king I got a queen, also the bed was oddly lumpy

Toilet seat was not connected to the toilet. There was no hair dryer present.

When arrive there’s no person in the front counter You need to call for someone to come out Not recommend

Th lady at the front desk was rude and inconsiderate. When I finally said something back after two days, she lied and told us there was no more room and we had to leave. I called the corporate booking number and also went on the website and there were over 20 rooms available. I called back down to the front desk and told the manager. The manager then lied and said there was a complaint. When I asked why the complaint was, she told me I did not have a right to know, but I had to leave. At this point I had already paid for another day. She finally admitted she lied and it was because “she didn’t like me.”

There were no problems during check-in. My keeps were constantly deactivating, the issue was resolved by the front desk everytime without issue. There were some minor maintenance upkeep issues with the room, nothing that would require changing hotels though. I assume the issues will get resolved in due time.

I liked that I was able to check in and out efficiently. The whole process was quick and easy. The room was clean and comfortable.

Staff was presence and professional. knowable of area in providing me with directions to places I wanted to go. I would come and stay at facility again.

The staff here were the best part of the stay! Brian (both of them) were so friendly and helpful! The location was walking distance to Six Flags (saved $20 in parking by parking in the hotel lot and walking 20 min to six flags). The beds were small (for two persons) but comfortable.

A wonderful quiet peaceful place.

I chose this hotel because it cost less than the rest. If your looking for fancy schmancy with lots of amenities, this isn't for you. If your looking for a safe, clean, afforadable place to rest, don't hesitate. It's in a good, convenient, safe location.
