Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Sycamore, IL

The breakfast didn’t start until 7am and the hot tub looks like it is permanently closed.I was looking forward to both.

Hotel room was clean, comfortable, & quiet. We were disappointed the pool was not operable. We called in advance to inquire about the pool since aquatics plays a major role in my physical therapy. We were told it was open. Upon arrival we were told by front desk staff we could swim. Several minutes later a maintenance man appeared saying the pool is closed for the next 3 months. Also wish I would have received an email in advance saying housing keeping is in operable.

Staff was very nice. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was because the pool was closed for renovations.

Generally run down. Carpet needed cleaning, knob on dresser missing. Elevator broken. Clean, however.

The Room was Great, Clean plenty of pillows, everything seemed up to date. The breakfast was average/good. But the elevator was out of service, we were on the 3rd floor. Besides the elevator inconvenience, it was a Great Stay.

The property was mediocre, outdated but clean for the most part. Elevator was being serviced and I was on the third floor, so major inconvenience. Breakfast included with stay was very limited and couldn't really keep up with the guests present.

Very clean. staff was good. Recommended restaurant was excellent. The furniture and facilities were somewhat rundown. Elevator not working.

Enjoyed the stay. Elevator was out so booked me to the 2nd floor. Enjoyed.

After we were checked in, we were informed that the elevator was broken and our room was on the third floor! I guess we were getting a little bit more exercise in this trip! The guy checking us in informed us that they had no date for when the elevator would be fixed.

The elevator was not working so I had to accept a queen bedon tge first foor instead of a king i originally booked.

Stained carpet. Dirty. Mold in bathroom. Unbelievable! We left and went to Hampton Inn.

My room was never cleaned. The pool was cold. Low temperature in shower 2 of the 4 days of my stay.

Carpet was filthy throughout lobby and room. No cleaning unless you ask for it. Stairs were creaky and noises if you get a room next to them. Beds were lumpy and pillows were old and smelled like dirty hair.

I don’t ever have high standards for hotel breakfasts, but I’ve never seen oatmeal soup. We opted for McDonald’s. We found trash under the bed skirts as we were checking for bugs upon arrival. The room was spacious but the furniture could have been better.

Well to start the hotel started to do a remodel so there was furniture in the halls of every floor. We originally booked a 2 night stay but decided to add an additional night. We moved to the new location. The holder for the shower head was broken. We asked to have it replaced but no one ever came. We had to get our own towels and whatever else we needed. No garbage was picked up so we put it out in the hall. We had asked for maid service but that didn’t happen either.

Cleanliness not good carpet and furniture filthy.

This hotel is fine but very run down. The condition of the room was poor, stained carpet, mold growing in the bathroom and even with the AC on it felt damp. I wouldn’t stay again

The hotel in general is nice nothing fancy but decent. However do to staffing the trash in the hallways is often left uncollected and the hallways smell because of it. The staff is always pleasant!! The breakfast needs a meat option.

Online pictures look better than in person. Very outdated .The carpets are extremely dirty and the place smells from such.

Staff were friendly and welcoming. Room was spacious. Bathroom was clean and well maintained. Rugs were stained and very worn. Room needs painting as do the hallway and exterior. Exterior is not very welcoming.

Air conditioner was not working properly. Very hard to fall asleep and stay asleep.

Convenient location for my visit to Sycamore. Slept good, internet was fast enough, coffee was good. I'll stay there again next time I'm at our factory.

Property was very dated. The carpet in the room was dingy and old. The bathroom was run down and in need of updating. The thermostat in the room was non-operational and we controlled the temperature with a dates window unit. Overall, the room was clean but in great need of an update. Will not return.

We've been going to this hotel for close to 20 years as it used to be the only place to stay when visiting family. But, it hasn't been updated since then. The carpeting in our room was crunchy. The bathroom tile was cracked. The ceilling in the shower had a massive patch in the drywall that was never painted. The shampoo/soap set wasn't even a matching set.

Very comfortable bed

We stayed during the week, so it was very quiet. The hotel overall was great and did the job of giving us a place to sleep and land for a few days. It’s out dated, but clean. Our linens and mattress were cleaned and smelled freshly laundered, so a plus. The room furniture was on its last leg, literally. Our dresser drawers continuously were rolling open due to a tilt of the floor or the dresser. The desk was extremely shaky. The bathroom and shower was clean and chalk intact. The daily free breakfast was a mix of both hot and cold items. Items were not consistent day to day, for example: yogurt was only available one out of three days. Water filling was tricky because the water fountains were weak, so filling a water bottle would take time. The best spot to fill was at breakfast, but that room was only open 6-9am. The pool. It’s was there and it served the purpose for my kids to swim in, but there’s very limited seating and it was often closed during the day for its “daily acid treatment”, but it wasn’t communicated until we’d already be on the pool deck. The area is dated, but again the kids didn’t care and swam around each day. The staff was super pleasant and it appeared to be the same three to four people. Always friendly and helpful! We were visiting the area for friends and I’d definitely stay here again, as it’s so convenient and it’s really the only option in that area.

The bed was super comfortable. The pillows were amazing.

The door to our room wouldn’t open for our keycard, the manager’s, or the housekeeper’s. The manager told me he’d have to put me in a different room and I wouldn’t be able to access all of our belongings until they can get the maintenance person to get the door open on Monday. His solution was to not have clothes, the kids toys, etc. for 48 hours. I told him that was unacceptable and if they didn’t get the door open, I’d take the door lock off myself. He then went and got a new key and opened the door. We propped it open so I could move all of our things into a different room. Considering we were living there for a month, it was a lot of items. Took nearly two hours to move rooms. And he was actually rude to me about it as though I were the problem.

If you have a handicap, good luck requesting an accessible room. I told them I had MS and I can’t get up the stairs and the elevator was too small to get our belongings into. He told me that all of the open rooms downstairs were still dirty and needed to be cleaned. He said they wouldn’t be cleaned until the next day, despite the fact that they had 2 housekeepers still on the clock. You would think they would ask one of them to prepare a room for a handicapped person, but they didn’t care. Very rude people. The housekeepers and the maintenance guy were the only friendly people there.

I always stay here when visiting our daughter, who is a grad student at NIU…and she lives in Maple Park. Clean rooms, breakfast is free (not great, but free)…most importantly, it is quiet. Close to NIU… 20 min drive to Maple Park. Since they don’t offer housekeeping on the weekends, I can’t comment on that, but their front desk staff is generally friendly.

We are a cheerleading organization who stayed at Country Inn and the experience was horrible. The check in process took over 45 mins to check in 8 rooms. The man who owns it or runs it is super rude and needs to learn how to talk to CUSTOMERS! Very demeaning when he talks to you and he shorted us a whole room. He didn’t even keep my squad together we were all over the hotel which was horrible and we were told to keep quiet when the kids were “walking and just talking” in the halls. This place smells like old people and is super hot. The owner again complained about us the whole time and his night manager (African American lady) I don’t know her name was acting like she was working for “60 Days In”. Talk about a drill Sargent. Place is NOT for kids. They act like it’s some high class hotel where u need to mind your P’s and Q’s every single moment. For the record- one of my kids lost her stuffed animals and I called the hotel to have them double check the room and they refused to even look.

Someone should alert the front desk that a position in “Hospitality Management” requires the use of hospitality. They gave me an attitude just for asking for a blanket for my kids. They gave me an attitude for asking when the pool would be open. They gave me an attitude when their own keycards were faulty and they needed to be returned for new ones. Just constant attitude.

Comfortable and clean. Walkable to Walgreens and close to restraints and shopping

The room was spacious and very clean. Check in was quick, check out was quicker. Breakfast was excellent and had various hot entrees each morning, and the dining room was kept very clean. The pool was great and also very clean. This hotel is close to everything in Sycamore and I would very much recommend and stay again.

Nice staff. Great breakfast and excellent Food Service Worker. Carpet in the room definitely needed cleaning. It was kinda sticky and gross. Sink handle was loose but worked ok.

The room/ suite was a wonderful surprise, large and clean. The breakfast offered a large variety of options. The staff was very professional, kind and courteous!
