My stay was perfect for what I needed, which was a one night stay arriving late and leaving early in the morning. The rate was very reasonable considering many other hotels and motels in the suburbs of Chicago were either sold out or extremely expensive due to the Marathon. There was a stuffy odor upon entering my room as though it hadn't been used for a while, but it was clean. All the very basic essentials were there, except for any hangers in the closet area. The bathroom sink was newer as was the carpet and flooring. The television was on and welcoming when I entered, but the remote only let me change channels and volume - no guide, sleep, menu, etc. was available. The wall air conditioning/heating unit kept the room at a comfortable temperature during the night, and coffee was served in the lobby in the morning. Plenty of free parking and friendly staff.

Booked the premium double room. Described as having complimentary snack box, premium bedding and complimentary bottled water. There was no snack box or water. When i asked about it, the front desk attendant laughed and said that they dont do that and talk to corporate about it. The room was FILTHY!! Several Holes in the walls, the curtains were torn or melted with holes ( I cannot figure out what caused the damage…) the “upgraded premium” bedding was stained, the pillows were stained and flat, there was mold all over the bathroom, the toilet handle was broken, the ceiling was peeling, the towels were stained. When i turned on the lights there were roaches running across the floor by the bathroom. Adults and babies. I told the front desk and was told that they are “working on it “ but nothing could be done during our stay. Overall so disgusted with the entire stay. NEVER AGAIN! I did stay at this same location earlier this year (early April) and did not have the same experience. It is like it changed owners or the owners decided that they didn’t care about the place anymore.

Room smelled of mold, roaches and bed bugs. Most lights in the did not work. Checked out three hours after checking in. Price was reseasonable, area around hotel nice but most room were occupied by long term stays then just visiting guest. Asked for refund was told it was not possible, and my deposit would be refunded immediately, still waiting. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.

I got what I paid for, but it could have been better. The room was clean, which is always a must. I upgraded to the "Superior King" room, but there wasn't anything superior about it. The mattress like it needed replacement. The small coffeemaker in the room had no coffee setup, and they couldn't even give me one at the front desk because they didn't stock it. Why was it even in the room? The shower curtain was worn and tattered. The AC emitted an unpleasant odor when it was running. My key didn't work after the first day (I paid in advance for 2 nights) and I had to go to the front desk for a new one - after trying to open my door with my arms full. Staff weren't unprofessional, nor did they go out of their way to be helpful or friendly. There was nothing about the whole experience that made me want to stay again - except the price.
