Super 8 by Wyndham Yorkville

There were problems with the room, but the staff were helpful in making it right. Breakfast offerings were pretty poor.

The room and hotel seem to be clean but we were their for 2 days and were just watching tv on low & they kept bothering us saying it's a sleeping hotel & we're disturbing other people... I'm sure if you are aware im there for 2 days, I'm not going to sleep the entire time!!! When I ran into other guests in close proximity of me & asked were we disturbing them to the point of complaints & they all said no... So the whole situation was weird & uncomfortable!!

It was a bit dumpy but served the overnight purpose. Didn't like that a bag of trash was at the stairwell the entire time we were there. The staff were friendly, though. So, that's something. It was ok.

I absolutely have no idea how this hotel had a 7.6 rating and the Hotel Montcler in the actual town of Sandwich where we were trying to find somewhere in the first place, had a 5.2! Just baffling… arrived to this awful place that Wyndham should be ashamed to have in its catalog and our first room stunk of weed, cigarettes, depression and bad decisions. We called down and the staff member seemed to be aware and came up with a key for a room a couple doors away. This room at least didn’t stink, but within minutes we discovered the bathroom light and fan combo was ill fitting, uncovered, and sooooooo loud. We literally had to use the bathroom in the dark to have peace and quiet. The bed was thin and flat and came with three small and thin pillows. The place was dingy and tired looking. I would never have stayed here and I sure don’t know how it got anything over a 3 out of 10 rating. Absolutely a waste of money. The front desk area is cluttered and the breakfast area was small and unappealing so we didn’t bother eating there. Vending machines were either empty Or out of order. Someone put garbage outside of their room that included dirty diapers and the next day they were still there, just disgusting. This hotel should be ashamed of opening its doors to people and operating. It was gross and we were disappointed.

The breakfast was less than desirable. Only hot item was waffles that you made yourself. Should offer more items such as additional fresh fruit other than apples. Yogurt would be nice as an option. No napkins or paper towels available. Was liking for a fork for a lunchtime meal and there was nothing available. Overall this was a mediocre hotel. Will not stay again if in the area.
