Old motel but was a reasonable price, good location in proximity to Purdue and serviced our basic needs. Run by family and front desk is not always staffed (but available by phone). Room with two double beds was spacious and clean but had dated furniture and smelled dated. The electrical outlets were not easily accessible and had extension chords from two outlets to lamps. Not ideal for CPAP and charging phones while accessible from beds. The TV didn’t work initially, but the staff came promptly when called and figured out a chord was loose behind the TV and replaced batteries in the remote. The AC was a window unit and was noisy but effective cold air when running, but room would heat up quickly when it turned off in auto temp, two night stay. Saturday night an adjacent room was very noisy, until after 2 am. It sounded like someone was falling into a wall or slamming a door every half hour or so. The AC sound when running helped mask the noise from next door and we were tired and didn’t call management. Second night was better. The pool was covered (in mid-August). Breakfast had no juice or much of a variety and we chose to eat elsewhere. I would try to find another place next time but would stay there again if necessary.

To be fair, I don’t think I realized I was booking a cheap motel where you park in front of the room instead of entering a main a lobby area and making your way to a room. That said, this place was a big disappointment and we wouldn’t stay here again. When people describe this place as “vintage” that’s a really classy way of saying it is old and desperately needs renovation. Small examples: Tub trip lever was missing so there was a big hole there. Some type of ancient heater in the bathroom without a safety plate on and heat could complete exposed. No plugs near bed for charging anything. Window AC that turns on and off every 5-10 minutes. It gets really cold when on and then gets warm quickly when off. Just sheets and a bed cover and no blanket? Found a hair on the toilet and a hair by the sink. The breakfast contained coffee, orange juice, cereal and little Debbie cakes. Better than nothing but not even close to a cheap hotel like a low level Marriott, Hilton, best western, etc. I’d rather drive 45 minutes to Purdue and stay elsewhere than here again. The only thing this place has is proximity to Purdue. I don’t need a JW Marriott. A Spring Hill suites is fine, or a Hilton garden inn. Just give me a place that has been renovated in the past 10 years, is fairly clean and safe with a charging port near the bed. And with preferably a bed that has some level of firmness. The bed here was almost hammock like. No thanks.

Well maintained property. And I prefer motels over hotels, because you're dealing with a car parked right outside your door which is very nice... if you get a hotel quality room... and they have it.
