It's a wonderful place to stay especially with the kitchenettes and the renovation they've done. But there are no elevators and there are no luggage carts I believe. So I was lucky and the maintenance man helped me bring my luggage upstairs.

Everything was great! The only minor issues are 1. The parking lot is in pretty rough shape. There are several sizable potholes. 2. This is a really minor one, there are no usb outlets in the room, so if you son’t bring a usb wall charger, you aren’t charging your phone, or tablet etc in the room. Luckily there’s a walmart around the corner where i ran to grab one. Also, you can’t stream to the tv, so if you’re watching tv, you’re watching direct tv.

The rooms are recently renovated and nice. The pool was closed during our stay but should be open next year. Its a convenient location to Bar Harbor and Bangor. Breakfast was decent. Staff not very friendly.

Staff were pleasant and helpful and made check in fast and easy. Rooms were recently renovated and very large and clean. Housekeeping was on request. It is across the parking lot from a Hannaford, which was very helpful with the kitchenette in the room. Pool was closed, but no big deal because we were too busy hiking nearby in Acadia. Breakfast was good. Would stay here again.

Overall, the hotel was nice. The rooms were very clean and the hotel was very well kept. The only issue is that it does not have an elevator so keep that in mind. The free breakfast did not have very many healthy options, but it was not bad by any means. I could see it being a good option for other families just not for our needs.I do like how they had coffee, tea and hot chocolate available 24 hours. The service was great. The location was good too because we weren’t too far from Acadia national park. We would definitely stay there again.

The property is under going construction but our room had been updated and was very comfortable, clean, and nice. The exterior of the building and driveway needs work. Continental breakfast was great. The pool was large and clean but the exercise room needed more weights and different apparatuses.

Friendly and professional staff. Enjoyed seeing the manager's dog in the lobby. He was a Friendly dog.Our room appeared to be recently renovated. Comfortable bed and pillows. Adequate offerings for breakfast including hot breakfast sandwiches. It took about 25 minutes to drive to Acadeia and Bar Harbor, a tad further than I expected.Grocery store within walking distance. Sufficient parking. On the downside there is no ramp or elevator to the second floor. And 3 steps to enter first floor rooms from the lobby

The staff member who greeted us when we arrived was delightful, made the whole trip better. The kitchen was perfect. Nice comfy bed. Bathroom was a little weird with no towel racks, and the mirror light didn't work. But I'm knocking 2 whole stars off the review because THERE IS NO ELEVATOR. That should be a HUGE notice for anyone booking a room, in case they want to book a first-floor room in advance!!!!

Room was absolutely filthy upon check-in. They would not move us or have someone clean the room. The desk staff's solution was to hand me cleaning supplies and have me clean my room MYSELF. Spoke to management the following day and got further runaround, saying they'll "try" to compensate me but have to check. Stonewalled me and refused monetary compensation, but they were kind and generous enough to leave Doritos and a bottle of water in my room the following day. Thanks for the $3 worth of snacks to compensate for a disgusting room full of dirt and pubic hair! Building condition is poor as well. Giant potholes, elevator out of order, the pool, *which they advertise as a key amenity*, is closed until 2026 AT LEAST. Water from drink machine tastes moldy, like it hasn't been cleaned in years. Water bubbler in fitness center was empty and not refilled for our entire stay. 0/5 stars

My husband and I stayed here for two nights with our dog to visit Bar Harbor. The staff were all super friendly - really couldn’t have been nicer. The reason for my low review is because we found a live bedbug on our second night. I captured it and took it to the front desk and Sam took it very seriously, acted immediately, and moved us to a different room at the opposite end of the hotel, after she personally inspected the new room to ensure it was clean. They also refunded our stay. This can understandably happen after a busy season with so many travelers but this bug was full grown and just chilling on my pillow, telling me their pest control policy may not be up to par. We would have left and found another hotel but it was 10:30pm and we were traveling with our dog. We inspected the new room and didn’t find any evidence of bugs. The room was clean and comfortable.

Check in & lobby look great but once u get ur room the rugs in hallways are nasty, stained and dingy. Was quite surprisingly with the location. Rooms were clean and spacious.

My wife and I had a wonderful stay at the Wyndham Extended in Ellsworth, Maine. Very friendly hostess. Amazing room, very clean and extremely comfortable. Would absolutely visit again.

Room itself was amazing, very clean! Great AC and very comfortable beds. Hotel hallway had horrible odor, stale air, parking lot had pot holes and poorly maintained. Just an old property that needed significant updating. We were visiting MDI and Acadia so it was a good base camp to sleep. No frills, but did what we needed. Staff was amazing. So welcoming and responsive!

This was our first time staying in the area and we found the ramada to be an affordable solution to the overpriced lodgings in the Bar Harbor location. There were good restaurants in the area and plenty of shopping as well as a manageable drive to Bar harbor. The hotel was going through renovations, but the rooms were finished and done well. They were spacious and had nice amenities including a small kitchenette that even had a dishwasher!

King bed kitchenette had no couch or other chair to sit on, just two table chairs. Very small room. No extra pillows or blankets in room. Kitchenette was nicely equipped. Hannaford’s next door- no need to bring food.

The bed is on noisy box springs. You can't sit or moved on them without them making a loud noise and the mattress is not comfortable. Everything else is very nice

The room was spacious, having a recently renovated kitchenette was nice to have--if we stayed longer, I'd definitely take advantage. The hotel is about 30m away from Acadia, and is located in a small strip mall area. Having food options, gas stations, a grocery store, and TJ Maxxx, etc. is all convenient. The bed was comfortable enough, bathroom was clean and recently updated. My only comfort issues was the pillows and the AC. Despite having 3 of them, they were all lumpy with no support. That did affect my sleep. The AC was loud at night and would make a rattling sound despite our best efforts to stop it. A newer TV with streaming options would be nice. All in all, a good option if you need a place to crash after a long day in Acadia.

Nice-sized room with decent bathroom. Mattress was horrible--there was a "sinkhole" in the middle of one side. The Wifi was horrific and barely worked. Bed and A/C made weird noises.

This 2 story hotel has been renovated and while they tried to use upscale fixtures and design, there are a few inconveniences. There is no elevator so all 2 floor rooms must carry their luggage up the stairs. The bathroom has brand new fixtures but not the water pressure to truly appreciate them and there is still a lingering smell of mold. For the price we paid, we expected a little more.

A closet that served no purpose, having no doors or a clothing rack, took up valuable space, causing the double beds to be offset, with one positioned directly against the HVAC unit. Overall, the room design was poor. There was water damage on the ceiling directly above one of the beds, with the texture peeling away. It appeared as though it had been patched at some point, but not properly repaired. What I found most unpleasant, however, was the overwhelming odor upon entering the reception area, a mix of old building, cigarette smoke, and animal smells. The hallways leading to the rooms had a noticeable sewer odor. In the evening, a dog barked repeatedly, disturbing the peace. If odors aren’t an issue for you, this hotel might be fine, but I won’t be staying here again. There are too many other far better options.

Overall, the hotel was nice. The rooms were very clean and the hotel was very well kept. The only issue is that it does not have an elevator so keep that in mind. The free breakfast did not have very many healthy options, but it was not bad by any means. I could see it being a good option for other families just not for our needs.I do like how they had coffee, tea and hot chocolate available 24 hours. The service was great. The location was good too because we weren’t too far from Acadia national park. We would definitely stay there again.

Friendly and professional staff. Enjoyed seeing the manager's dog in the lobby. He was a Friendly dog.Our room appeared to be recently renovated. Comfortable bed and pillows. Adequate offerings for breakfast including hot breakfast sandwiches. It took about 25 minutes to drive to Acadeia and Bar Harbor, a tad further than I expected.Grocery store within walking distance. Sufficient parking. On the downside there is no ramp or elevator to the second floor. And 3 steps to enter first floor rooms from the lobby

Convenient location to Br Harbor and Acadia National Park. AC worked well, rooms spacious with large fridge and utensils and dishes. Place was clean and within walking distance to a grocery store, restaurant and coffee shop. Would stay again.

This was a great choice for our family of two adults, three teenagers and two dogs. The location was close enough to Bar Harbor without the high cost of lodging. The rooms are newly renovated with efficiency kitchens. The full size refrigerator allowed us to stock up on food from Walmart and eat throughout of four night stay, which saved us a lot of money. The daily breakfast had a lot of hearty offerings. The afternoon cookies in the lobby were an added treat. This hotel offers a gym and soon their pool will reopen. All employees from Katie at the front desk to the ladies in housekeeping were all so pleasant and nice to speak with. Even from my first phone call to this hotel to add my dogs to the reservafion, everyone was always so polite and professional. I'm glad we chose Hawthorn Suites for our time while visiting Acadia and Bar Harbor. We had a great four nights here. If we ever come back to Acadia, we would not hesistate to rebook another stay here!

The room was spacious, having a recently renovated kitchenette was nice to have--if we stayed longer, I'd definitely take advantage. The hotel is about 30m away from Acadia, and is located in a small strip mall area. Having food options, gas stations, a grocery store, and TJ Maxxx, etc. is all convenient. The bed was comfortable enough, bathroom was clean and recently updated. My only comfort issues was the pillows and the AC. Despite having 3 of them, they were all lumpy with no support. That did affect my sleep. The AC was loud at night and would make a rattling sound despite our best efforts to stop it. A newer TV with streaming options would be nice. All in all, a good option if you need a place to crash after a long day in Acadia.

I wasn't happy with the breakfast that they provided. This is one thing that would make me not stay here again. I would like to see some eggs and possibly sausage or bacon that is not in a prepackage form.

Room was very basic. Bathroom door knob was broken. Everytime we shut the door, we would get locked inside and had to call the maintenance guy to unblock the door. Breakfast included in the hotel was very pretty boring. There was no hot breakfast. It was only things like cereal, waffles and bread. Coffee machine kept breaking down but fresh coffee was prepared by the staff on request.

About 30-40 minutes from most of Acadia national park. Super nice hotel staff. The room’s kitchen is larger than expected with everything you need except a stove/oven. Conveniently located next door to a local supermarket and down the block from walmart. The complementary breakfast had a large selection and a lot (most) of the prepackaged food was kosher.

The only real thing lacking is the food. Something as simple as having a nice coffee is key. It was so watery that we went to McDonald's. The front desk is nice as well as the rest of the staff. Plenty of parking. Close to Arcadia park and shopping is right next door

Property appeared older and not the cleanest. Hairs were found on all of the bedding. Breakfast was ok but get down before the last half hour because they do run out of waffles and they do not replenish.

My husband and I stayed here for two nights with our dog to visit Bar Harbor. The staff were all super friendly - really couldn’t have been nicer. The reason for my low review is because we found a live bedbug on our second night. I captured it and took it to the front desk and Sam took it very seriously, acted immediately, and moved us to a different room at the opposite end of the hotel, after she personally inspected the new room to ensure it was clean. They also refunded our stay. This can understandably happen after a busy season with so many travelers but this bug was full grown and just chilling on my pillow, telling me their pest control policy may not be up to par. We would have left and found another hotel but it was 10:30pm and we were traveling with our dog. We inspected the new room and didn’t find any evidence of bugs. The room was clean and comfortable.

Our experience of this property was terrible; the room was very tired and looked nothing like the images during booking, bed and sofa were covered with pet hair, and the ancient heater / air conditioner was so loud as to make conversation difficult, let alone trying to sleep. Despite having a kitchenette there was no extractor fan and the windows didn't open, which was perhaps a blessing since refrigerated trucks park right outside with the engines running all night. We got the impression that most of the staff work hard to make the best of a very old property, but overall I'd have been disappointed had we paid $80 per night, not almost $400. Won't be rushing back.
