Comfortable bed, very nice and helpful staff. They missed cleaning my room 2 out of 4 days. Second time I spoke to the desk and they got someone right up to do it. No breakfast available M-F in their restaurant. Only buffet on Sat and Sun. Not very convenient. I suggested they consider a continental breakfast or a grab and go for purchase. At least a coffee station. All in all a nice hotel.

We chose the Colonial Hotel because it was closest to an event we were attending in a nearby town. We usually stay at name brand hotels that have franchised properties across the country and that we have experienced as predictably good places to stay. The Colonial Hotel was definitely the right choice. Their front desk staff was welcoming and the room was comfortable and clean. We arrive late in the evening and did something we seldom do -- had dinner at the restaurant on the property. The Grille had a nice menu, the waiter staff was personable and attentive, and we enjoyed our seafood and beef meals. Should we return to this beautiful area of Massachusetts, this would be where we would stay again.

The location is beautiful. The rooms were clean but outdated, yet still had a tasteful feel.

We had booked online and when we arrived staff asked if first floor was ok and said yes, not telling us that it was rite next to the loud lobby. Went back out requested to be moved and the guy who checked us in was rude and acted like it was an inconvenience and said he couldn’t move us because they didn’t have staff to clean the room, I had told him we didn’t even unpack or sit on beds or anything. Later that night I asked for pillows since we paid for a 3rd person on the sofa bed and they said I can only find one pillow, how does a hotel only find one pillow. For the money I spent on this room, We were very disappointed due to cleanliness and the rude staff. Honestly I should have stayed at the motel 8 and I’m sure it would’ve been way better. Only good thing was the restaurant in the hotel . If I could give a negative star, I definitely would. I hope they clean up their act because worse place I have ever stayed.

So first thing, no alcohol allowed on property if not bought on premises. It should be noted upfront we were there for our anniversary so our plans for an intimate evening with a bottle or two of wine did not happen. We did end up going to the bar and enjoyed the staff they were very observant and personable. However it is outdated and the furniture in the room was pretty scratched. No usb ports and minimal plugs. We were in room 130, there was mold on the inside of the bathroom door which you would see if you closed the bathroom door to use the bathroom - there was no fan in the bathroom or the fan in the bathroom didn’t work. I will preface that I am a light sleeper and woke up multiple times throughout the night, I think I didn’t sleep more than an hour at a time. However my husband who sleeps better only woke up twice because of the noise. Trying to give this place the benefit of the doubt but I don’t usually leave reviews until the second time I stay if it is someplace remote. I don’t see myself coming back, I would rather travel the extra 20-30 minutes to stay somewhere more maintained and what the regulations are prior to booking.
