Property was under some renivations but not to bad. quiet enough. The big inconvenience is the key lock did not work fornthe rooms due to these renovations. i was told first day we will have a key for you tomorrow. I was there 4 days and same story every day. i never got a key which meant somone had to escort me to my room. As a female alone it didnt make me feel real safe. tThe people were nice but wish they had told me ablut the key issue or offered some sort of partial refund. I mean no key. If they got keys and i went back to Kentucky i would go back

The ad said breakfast and pool available. They didn’t have either!! The attendants tried to be as helpful as possible without those but especially missed breakfast The fact that it was advertised was why we chose Derby Inn

It was obvious from the moment we arrived that this facility was 'on it's last leg'. There was a unusual odor about the place. Musty not moldy. Our 2 night stay was over $200 total... and a $5 charge to put it on our credit card! I would not want to be known to be carrying more than $200 cash in this neighborhood. Both queen mattresses looked quite new and there were no signs of bed bugs on - good news. But we did have a dead cricket on the floor right between the 2 queen beds. How long was he there? No idea. There were a couple of cars in the parking lot that obviously hadn't run for quite some time... one was in one of the handicap spots. The outside landscaping hadn't been attended to in quite some time. The ice maker was broken - "It just quit" is what we were told. It looks like it has been down for a long time. We were supposed to have breakfast included as part of our stay... when we got up on our first morning, we were shown a coffee pot and some sugar on the buffet! Hmmm... a bit lacking in the nutritional value. Needless to say... this will be our last stay at the Derby Inn & Suites.

First of all, they don't take pets even though Expedia says they do. Second, they didn't have room keys. They offered to unlock the room and let me in for the night and lock it back. I ran out of there as fast as I could thanking God that I had gotten trip insurance b/c I found out these 2 things after I already paid.

The staff are just amazing. Kind and accommodating. They are in the middle of renovations but you can already see how amazing it's going to look when done. Very laid back atmosphere.

Room and hotel was nasty. No breaskfast as advertised. Sheets were dirty. We were so tired and couldn’t find another place. I requested clean sheets and made the beds myself. Top cover had cigarette burns all over.

I don't expect much for $60 a night, I just hope that the room is clean. Unfortunately, it was not. There was a dead bug to great me as soon as I entered the room, and more in the hallway. A used wash cloth from the previous occupants had been left in the shower. There was a spider in the shower and cob webs in the bathroom. Carpet and ceiling were stained, and the whole place was in a state of disrepair. Expedia listed the room as having breakfast, but it did not.

I didn’t expect much due to the cost of the room but I did expect not to be assaulted by the intolerable odor of cigarettes as soon as I walked in. I had not realized this hotel also had smoking rooms available, otherwise I would not have chosen this particular place. Thankfully the room itself did not have that odor. Neither the bed nor the pillows were comfortable at all. I’m just glad it was a one night stay.

Reserved a suite and when I checked in they gave me a regular room. Had to go back to the front desk to get it changed and the suite wasn't ready so I had to wait 30 minutes. The fire alarms went off 2 times during the night and also there was some kind of humming noise frequently through the night. Over all I probably wouldn't stay there again but it is a good 3nough place to stay if it's your only option.

We rented the suite and it was such a a great deal. It was only 114 bucks on Expedia and that included the Jacuzzi!! The gentleman at the front desk, I believe his name was Ryan (maybe Josh ) was super friendly, nice, and very helpful. He went above and beyond to make sure we had a great stay and had everything we needed while we were there. (Thank you again for the lighter!) I will say they have done a massive amount of remodeling to this place and it looks amazing!! They are still working on it so if staying somewhere where there is still MINOR updates being done would bother you just know there are small things still being incorporated into the property. I wish they allowed pets or had a select few rooms that were pet friendly because I would like to go back and stay for more than one night and take my dog. The only thing that I really didn't like was that there isn't a bathroom in the lobby, other than that I was completely satisfied with my stay and the staff. Thanks so much!!

Reason: it was "1 of the nicer rooms." The microwave > wattage, short out whole room. Switch 2 reg room, smaller, no discount . Staff very friendly and helpful.

Well, the bed was broken down. Two small flat pillows. No coffee. Microwave blows the breaker at 45 seconds. Broken missing lights in hallway and room. Large room with spartan furniture. Nice room. Clean, comfortable beds. Great shower with hot water and had great water presure. The hotel staff very pleasant and accomodating. Had fresh cinnamon swirl bread for breakfast! Yum! Would definitely stay again!

Reservation from Orbitz did not go through and another couple who came in behind me was turned away even though they had an Orbitz reservation. The staff talked about a resident who was smoking crack and climbing out of windows. Nobody was at the desk when I walked in and it took me more than 30 minutes to check in. Overall, this was a poor property and I will not stay there again.

I didn’t actually get to stay here because my stay was cancelled. I would never have known until I showed up had I not called to inquire about check in times. They offered no help in getting us a room somewhere else and we ended up having to drive an hour and a half away to find a hotel. They were very apologetic but completely unhelpful.

This is a basic hotel without a lot of fanfare, which I knew when I booked. A little dated with worn carpet and damage to walls. The room and bed were decent and water pressure was good. Staff friendly and accommodating. Some decent restaurants not far from hotel.

Water pressure is good and hot water doesn’t run out. I appreciate that. And the coffee station is kind for visitors. For what I paid I was happy. I only wish there was a hair dryer in the room

The ad said breakfast and pool available. They didn’t have either!! The attendants tried to be as helpful as possible without those but especially missed breakfast The fact that it was advertised was why we chose Derby Inn

This is a basic hotel without a lot of fanfare, which I knew when I booked. A little dated with worn carpet and damage to walls. The room and bed were decent and water pressure was good. Staff friendly and accommodating. Some decent restaurants not far from hotel.

It was obvious from the moment we arrived that this facility was 'on it's last leg'. There was a unusual odor about the place. Musty not moldy. Our 2 night stay was over $200 total... and a $5 charge to put it on our credit card! I would not want to be known to be carrying more than $200 cash in this neighborhood. Both queen mattresses looked quite new and there were no signs of bed bugs on - good news. But we did have a dead cricket on the floor right between the 2 queen beds. How long was he there? No idea. There were a couple of cars in the parking lot that obviously hadn't run for quite some time... one was in one of the handicap spots. The outside landscaping hadn't been attended to in quite some time. The ice maker was broken - "It just quit" is what we were told. It looks like it has been down for a long time. We were supposed to have breakfast included as part of our stay... when we got up on our first morning, we were shown a coffee pot and some sugar on the buffet! Hmmm... a bit lacking in the nutritional value. Needless to say... this will be our last stay at the Derby Inn & Suites.

I don't expect much for $60 a night, I just hope that the room is clean. Unfortunately, it was not. There was a dead bug to great me as soon as I entered the room, and more in the hallway. A used wash cloth from the previous occupants had been left in the shower. There was a spider in the shower and cob webs in the bathroom. Carpet and ceiling were stained, and the whole place was in a state of disrepair. Expedia listed the room as having breakfast, but it did not.

Nice room. Clean, comfortable beds. Great shower with hot water and had great water presure. The hotel staff very pleasant and accomodating. Had fresh cinnamon swirl bread for breakfast! Yum! Would definitely stay again!

This hotel was dirty and is unsafe. The first room we were given had bugs visible everywhere, no smoke detector (just bare wires where it should have been) and had a stench of cigarettes in this "no smoking room." The staff came to the room with a can of perfume and said she could not smell cigarettes even though there were burn marks on furniture edges, toilet seats etc. We were moved to another room which was bug free but same result in regards to cigarette burns and NO SMOKE DETECTOR. The bed linens had not been changed so they provided new ones and we got to make a bed on vacation, not great. There are renovations in progress and our room was in the construction area...we had to walk around light fixtures dangling at head height to get to the room. This hotel should not be operating while under reconstruction. There were heaps of trash in the parking lot. The online pictures do not factually indicate what this place is like.

I did not know they were under renovation, apparently the room I was in this was not the case. I will say the staff as amazing, and I am hopeful the property will get better. But as of right now i would not stay there. Breakfast is nonexistent. They have stopped it. They were the only place that had an opening that night otherwise I would not have stayed. But like i said it will look great once the work is completed. Also, I accidently left my car unlocked all night with belongings in it, and they were still there in the morning. And although we got ate up with fleas, the beds were comfortable.
