We’ve stayed at a couple Candlewood Suites, and this one is pretty skimpy on amenities in comparison, but it is very affordable and met our need for a 2BR suite, which is hard to find. No breakfast, no pool, and the room was not stocked for 5 people, so I had to ask for bedding for the sofabed, hand soap (none in room!), and towels (only 3 in suite.) Bob was super friendly and on top of things. The other employees were polite but fairly uninterested. They only clean once a week, so if you want housekeeping, you’ll need to ask.

Place was amazing, second time staying there and place is always super clean. Great staff, free washer and dryer to use. Kitchen was filled with untensils definitely a top stay for sure. Close to malls and alot of stores. Great place 10\\10 for me. 🙌🙌.

It was a brief stay for a wake and funeral so I was simply looking for a bed, wifi and television. Check in was extremely slow because it was the desk agent's first day. The television didnt work, so I reported it to front desk. Said he'd be up to check it. Waited 45 mins; he never showed. Many guest reviews report unresolved broken appliances. Decided to head to fitness room. Exercise unit's integrated TV also didnt work. Went to grab a water from the fitness room. The cup dispenser was empty. Finished my workout and returned to front desk to report the broken tv again. Same desk agent, who Id reported the television not working about an hour earlier, seemed to have absolutely no recollection Id reported it previously. It was truly bizarre. In any event, he accompanied me back to the room and confirmed the television was not working. Offered to relocate me. Since it was now 10pm, Id already settled in and I had a funeral to attend in the AM, I politely declined. He offered IHG "points", when I had declined to register for IHG points when I checked in with him a few hours earlier. Id have accepted a modest credit and been content, but points would do nothing for me. Told him Id resort to my cellphone and Netflix. He said okay, as though that were appropriate resolution. Plugged my phone's charger into bedside table charging port. It too was broken. Awoken all night long by loud banging. Thankfully, it was only a one-night stay. One night too many.

The hallways were really not clean with the same crumbs all over for the 2.5 days we were there. The room was fine A little outdated, but good. They only provided coffee for one of the 2 mornings we reserved and we had to go outside in a noreaster to the other building if we wanted more coffee. There were no maps or guidance to get to the laundry or fitness. Never did find the fitness.

I liked the convenient location. More detail to cleaning needed. I saw critter droppings and the pusher of a syringe and a splat of red stuff on the ceiling in the bathroom? Scary to think it may have been blood!

There was no signs to find the property off of the main road. It’s hidden back behind a newly abandoned shopping plaza and is not visible from the road -so it was very difficult to find even with GPS. Parked to check in we were yelled at by a vagrant woman who claimed to live there. If you have a large SUV you must be extremely careful parking- the spaces are sized for compact cars. Checking into the room the hallways were filled with smoke you could barely see the other end of the hallway. Having asthma I found it difficult to breath and needed my inhaler regularly while staying there. The room itself was absolutely filthy- food smeared on the counters and coffee table- the toilet used and not flushed- makeup stains on the pillow cases- pubic hair all over the bathroom- window in kitchen was caked in cooking grease- there was no hand soaps at the sink no extra towel no extra bedding other than what was on the bed- TV remote missing. Basically -room was not stocked or cleaned properly. Needless to say, I made many trips to the front desk. The front desk attendant was often nowhere to be found inside- they were mostly always outside smoking. However, the attendant was very nice and helpful. They told me the excuse for such a filthy room is that they were understaffed. At night many of the guests were visibly doing drugs in their car. Smelled of dog throughout. I could go on a LOT more but this doesn’t a lot for enough space. Not worth the money-don’t bring kids. Go elsewhere

Staff was nice. Checked in quickly. Only issue at first was not enough towels. Was told they would be dropped off but they weren’t so we had to call hours later but they brought them right away. Our reservation had the exact amount of people so To hear they had to be washed was kind of weird. Should have been done and ready in the room. Ceiling in bathroom above shower needs fixing. Water damage or mold idk. Kitchen counters dirty. Stove dirty. Crumbs everywhere. No Screens on windows on 3rd floor. Bathroom toilet seat was gross. Looks like it wasn’t cleaned. Sink faucet had some green stuff dangling in water. Not safe. Beds very comfy. Sheets clean. Price paid was fine. Quiet. Would stay again. Overall not terrible. But no free breakfast. Overpriced food/snack area. But very close to food places. Close to Salem. Which is why we stayed here.

The room was clean, quiet, and had everything we needed during our stay. I was pleasantly surprised to find a full sized refrigerator with freezer and a stove with an oven. We enjoyed our stay in this spacious room.

Two bedroom layout was great. General area was fine. Staff was excellent. Disappointed that microwave in room was too damaged to use. Also the AC stopped working. Staff offered to move us but there were four of us, five days into a week long stay. A fan was provided. Housekeeping not offered for stays less than a week - didn’t know that when booked.

The room was clean. My complaint was the mattress. It was so used, I sank giving a nasty back ache on saturday. My wife woke with nasty hip pain. We rotated the mattress on saturday, but the damage was already done. The mattress was somewhat better once rotated. As of this evening, (sunday), were hurting & on heating pads.

Nice and quiet. Room is clean. Kitchen is decent. Toilet water flow is very flow. The shower water flow is also slow. The room is on fourth floor but water flow should not be that slow.

The hotel is clean, practical, and in a great location in the North Shore. People are friendly, and the suite we stayed in was comfortable. We had lots of little issues that made the stay a disappointment. The king size bed had queen size sheets that kept getting off. We had no housekeeping until the third day, and that was after repeated requests. We had to ask for basics included, like toilet paper to last us for our stay, and coffee filters to use in the room. What made it disappointing was that we would ask for help, and despite friendly apologies, help was very slow in coming. To top it all off, the day we finally got housekeeping service, our door was left open, until we came back at 10:30 pm that night! The last day, we were told that housekeeping was only once a week! This had not been told to us during check-in or at any other time. Kudos to four people that were trying really hard to do their work: Tamara, Bob, Susan, and Kelvin. This is our second time staying here, and the first time was ok because it was only overnight. Great place for one night, or if you don’t mind having to chase people for clean towels and basic necessities.

We had lots of little issues that made the stay a disappointment. The king size bed had queen size sheets that kept getting off. We had no housekeeping until the third day, and that was after repeated requests. We had to ask for basics included, like toilet paper to last us for our stay, and coffee filters to use in the room. What made it disappointing was that we would ask for help, and despite friendly apologies, help was very slow in coming. To top it all off, the day we finally got housekeeping service, our door was left open, until we came back at 10:30 pm that night! The last day, we were told that housekeeping was only once a week! This had not been told to us during check-in or at any other time. Kudos to four people that were trying really hard to do their work: Tamara, Bob, Susan, and Kelvin. This is our second time staying here, and the first time was ok because it was only overnight. Great place for one night, or if you don’t mind having to chase people for clean towels and basic necessities.

The room was very nice. I had asked for a shower chair and I didn’t get one plus I asked for a room that had safety bars in the shower but I didn’t get those either. Also my bathroom door wouldn’t shut. The gentleman at the front desk who checked me in was very nice and helpful. And the gentleman who checked me out was very friendly.

Hotel was good, staff was eh the person I checked in with was nice but the person I checked out with was not the greatest, the power went out and they didn’t have generators and wouldn’t refund us any money since it was a transformer that went out aka a town problem? The manager wasn’t professional about it at all and was honestly kinda rude when we asked, there was no emergency lights or anything in the room so when it went out we were in complete darkness for 4 hours! Didn’t feel safe at all, but was nice it was dog friendly.

It was a brief stay for a wake and funeral so I was simply looking for a bed, wifi and television. Check in was extremely slow because it was the desk agent's first day. The television didnt work, so I reported it to front desk. Said he'd be up to check it. Waited 45 mins; he never showed. Many guest reviews report unresolved broken appliances. Decided to head to fitness room. Exercise unit's integrated TV also didnt work. Went to grab a water from the fitness room. The cup dispenser was empty. Finished my workout and returned to front desk to report the broken tv again. Same desk agent, who Id reported the television not working about an hour earlier, seemed to have absolutely no recollection Id reported it previously. It was truly bizarre. In any event, he accompanied me back to the room and confirmed the television was not working. Offered to relocate me. Since it was now 10pm, Id already settled in and I had a funeral to attend in the AM, I politely declined. He offered IHG "points", when I had declined to register for IHG points when I checked in with him a few hours earlier. Id have accepted a modest credit and been content, but points would do nothing for me. Told him Id resort to my cellphone and Netflix. He said okay, as though that were appropriate resolution. We got to the hotel at 1215 am Friday. We verified it was ok to check in that late. We arrived and go to the front door. It locks for safety at 11p. You ring the front desk, and the rep will buzz you in. There WAS no one at the front desk. We rang ten solid minutes. We could see the unmanned front desk and were stuck in the vestibule. IHG customer service live chat told us to look for a lock box. There was no lockbox. She tried calling the front desk. After this went on for about another 15 minutes, a guest let us in the lobby. We called customer service again on chat and phone. The phone reps were not able to help. It literally was not in their power to help. The live chat rep kept insisting that there are lock boxes with keys. The guest said to knock on all the office doors. With her insistence and the suggestion, we went behind the desk. There was an unlocked drawer full of money, an unlocked door with multiple computers and the front desk rep asleep in the GM’s office. No apologies from him. He never asked for my driver’s license. No verification of who I was. Food from the previous tenants in the refrigerator. Within 10 min I went to the desk for linens for the sofa bed, he was asleep. The oven did not close. The exhaust vent in the bathroom did not work so the entire place smelled of mold and this weird smell. The shower curtain was open when we got there. When you closed it, the smell was even stronger. I really don’t know what it was, but it was not pleasant.

This did not struck me as the safest place. People were fighting on my floor and people were screaming in the parking lot. It was an uncomfortable atmosphere. I was a single female on this trip. So if you match that discription or these issues matter to you. I would just shell out a little more money to visit the area. It is very conveniently located to Salem and Boston. But it wasn’t worth it. Other things happened but I’ll just sum it up as an uncomfortable experience.

Our stay was 4 nights with another couple, we were in town for a music festival. We had a two room suite with kitchen. After a trip to the grocery store, we had everything we needed to cook breakfast every morning. There was a common area for relaxing and watching tv. And two bedrooms with comfortable queen beds. The coffee in the lobby was always available and very good. We enjoyed our stay.

We’ve stayed at a couple Candlewood Suites, and this one is pretty skimpy on amenities in comparison, but it is very affordable and met our need for a 2BR suite, which is hard to find. No breakfast, no pool, and the room was not stocked for 5 people, so I had to ask for bedding for the sofabed, hand soap (none in room!), and towels (only 3 in suite.) Bob was super friendly and on top of things. The other employees were polite but fairly uninterested. They only clean once a week, so if you want housekeeping, you’ll need to ask.

The hallways were really not clean with the same crumbs all over for the 2.5 days we were there. The room was fine A little outdated, but good. They only provided coffee for one of the 2 mornings we reserved and we had to go outside in a noreaster to the other building if we wanted more coffee. There were no maps or guidance to get to the laundry or fitness. Never did find the fitness.

Staff was nice. Checked in quickly. Only issue at first was not enough towels. Was told they would be dropped off but they weren’t so we had to call hours later but they brought them right away. Our reservation had the exact amount of people so To hear they had to be washed was kind of weird. Should have been done and ready in the room. Ceiling in bathroom above shower needs fixing. Water damage or mold idk. Kitchen counters dirty. Stove dirty. Crumbs everywhere. No Screens on windows on 3rd floor. Bathroom toilet seat was gross. Looks like it wasn’t cleaned. Sink faucet had some green stuff dangling in water. Not safe. Beds very comfy. Sheets clean. Price paid was fine. Quiet. Would stay again. Overall not terrible. But no free breakfast. Overpriced food/snack area. But very close to food places. Close to Salem. Which is why we stayed here.

The property is in a convenient area and seemed to be well maintained outside. We didn't realize it is an extended stay hotel which I tend to avoid because thy typically aren't well maintained on the inside. We didn't have bath towels,there were hand towels and washcloths. The duvet either wasn't changed or the housekeeping staff left a booger on it. We had to change it ourselves and because it's an extended stay, they only clean the room once a week. The kitchen was well stocked with everything needed for cooking. I would not recommend this property if you want a traditional hotel stay, but if you're looking for extended stay, I guess it checks the boxes. We stayed here because we were visiting Salem in October and there was not much to choose from.
