Overall a good stay. The room was pretty big and fit 4 of us with no issues. Staff was very friendly from check-in to getting coffee in the morning. My biggest gripe would be the workout facilities. They were very outdated and no towels were available. I would stay here again.

We always stay here while visiting Brimfield. Love that we can eat dinner in their restaurant as one of the options. Pool and hot tub are great! Used the workout facilities too. Really nice front desk staff. Room was comfy and clean- very nice mattress and room layout. We will always return when it's Brimfield time!

4th year in a row staying here and we LOVE it! Friendly staff, the awesome activities like pool tables, darts, basketball hoop!, pool/hot tub etc never disappoint. The building itself is gorgeous and the rooms are always clean and comfortable. We can't wait to come back!

If what you need is a utilitarian stay in a clean modern setting; no real frills beyond a good hot tub and pool, this will do. But it’s a conference center first and foremost, with not a lot of charm, beyond a hodge podge of architectural decoration-not a scenic spot for a vacation. The photos are somewhat deceptive in this regard, as is the folksie sounding name.

This was our second stay this year and we can't wait to make it a third! We love the quiet, clean rooms and historic charm of the hotel. Our 9 year old had a blast in the indoor pool and my husband enjoyed the gym. It was a great time!

Staff were friendly, professional and accomodating. Lobby is lovely. Hotel rooms are very dated. Unfortunately, upon arrival we found that our room had not been cleaned well: dirty towels left in the bathroom, ice bucket still had melted ice in it, and fingerprints remained on the mirrored closet doors. Fortunately, helpful staff moved us to another room. Price is very reasonable, but should include a sanitized room. Sadly, the first room just left us wondering how clean anything was and made for an uncomfortable night.

Upon entering our room and looking around, an extremely dirty rag (what appears as though it used to be a washcloth but had stains on it) was sitting on the shelf of the sink in the bathroom. We brought the rag down to the front desk. The clerk asked if we wanted to switch rooms (which we did) and he helped us to move our belongings to the new room. The new room seemed very clean and nice and we enjoyed our stay. Restaurant food was good but the service was very poor. Did not refill drinks, brought out unheated soup, etc. Would not recommend if you are looking for a nice meal with a quiet atmosphere. It's pretty loud in there!

The room was amazing. The history in the hotel was magnificent. Prosperity was amazing. The front desk staff was amazing! Very nice very clean!

The hotel is in a very poor area. The room looked like 1990 was still the year. I dropped something under the chair next to the bed and when I went to get it, I discovered that area had not been vacuumed in a very, very long time. There were rose petals and other dirt that was absolutely disgusting. I wish there was a place to upload a photo. I expected more for the price. Food in the bar was good and service was good. The outside of the elevators were gross.

The breakfast wasn’t free, and although there was an ok selection, some of the food was cold. I felt it was overpriced for what was offered. This was one of the cleanest hotels I’ve stayed in and everyone was really nice. We definitely enjoyed our stay.

When we arrived, we were unable to access our room as it had been locked from the inside. When then staff broke in for us, the room was dirty as if someone had been hanging out -- empty bottles, a half-full canister of crackers, and pee in the unflushed toilet, as well as an open window. Staff was friendly, but there was garbage in the hallways and elevator every day.

Scooby Doo hotel,. Immaculate hotel in the middle of no where. 2 weddings going on and saw maybe 15 people in total all on ground floor. Walk up to front desk and guy smiles and walks into back room. Wait 5 minutes and try and figure where he went. Then walk a half mile down hallway to a bathroom. Come back to join someone else waiting. Get up to room only person we see just got out of a pool. Room is spotless and tremendous also furthest away from the elevators. Get into a big comfortable bed and start to here road noises of passing traffic like we are outside yet we are 4 floors up . Wake up in the AM open up window and noticed we are sitting directly across from the Town PD and the street was completely unpaved creating so much extra noise. Windows also must have been single pane glass. Still was worth the stay if you are looking for something in between Bryant and Amherst.

Unique hotel of historical value… beautiful areas within hotel like marble spiral staircase, sitting rooms, outdoor patio , nice enclosed pool. Carpeting could be updated throughout however was clean, beds ok but could also be updated with newer mattresses. Large room. Breakfast is an extra charge. Surprisingly quiet.

The hotel overall was great. The room was nice and spacious. The water pressure was phenomenal with hot water in the shower. The barbed good were great The Only issue (but a big one) the temp of the room was just hot. I had the A/C set to the coldest it could go, continuous fan and the lowest it got was 70°. I had to sleep over the covers because it was hot. So my rest wasn’t the best. Other than that the rest of the stay was great

I’ll begin with a positive…every staff member I encountered was very friendly and very willing to assist in making the stay comfortable. I was disappointed in the room…and very surprised to see that there was no fan in the bathroom. This explains the high humidity in the room as well as the mold on the ceiling of the room from the moisture. I think this hotel has a lot of potential but it’s in need of some attention. The mattresses are very very firm and the TV is incredibly small.

The hotel itself, though difficult to locate, was beautiful. There were a lot of unruly guests in all manner of undress when we first walked in which wasn’t the best first impression. The staff was very welcoming and professional. Room was clean, terrible view, and broken shower head.

Beautiful, comfortable and cozy hotel. Room was great and clean. The only mishap was that we had to wait some time to checkin since there was nobody at the counter. Clerk wasn't the friendliest one.

Hotel lobby is really nice! We were very happy with our room until we discovered the toilet was broken. Told to front desk on our way out the door for the evening and they said they would send maintenance up. Maintenance was unable to fix the toilet, so we had to move rooms at 10pm. New room was fine, until almost everyone was asleep (after midnight at this point) and we discovered the deadbolt on the door did not work. It was misaligned or something. Nothing we could do to get the deadbolt to engage. No way we were moving rooms AGAIN, so we engaged the other lock and hoped for the best (it was fine). Just seemed like a lot of issues for a one night stay!

Really like the re-use of the old optical company building. Kitchen staff does a great job with a small menu. Bar staff is awesome. Management should ensure enough servers on hand for crowds. Which is probably difficult given the huge conference center and a limited occupancy. No lunch options is problematic. The halls require vacuuming more often. If the hotel is going to continue only servicing the rooms every other day (which is fine BTW!) then you must make sure ample coffee, cups and glasses are in the room for 2 days.

Very nice hotel. Clean and comfortable. The neighborhood it was in seemed a little sketchy but the hotel grounds were nice. We would recommend to others and stay there again.

Third stay here and I love it. Beautiful property, large rooms, great pool, friendly and helpful staff. Had dinner there too. A bit pricey but food was good and service great. Used to be an optical manufacturing plant and has been beautifully repurposed into a lovely hotel. Best place to stay if you are antiquing in Brimfield. Good restaurants close by too.

The hotel is very nice. The rooms are fairly spacious. It can be noisy if there’s a wedding going on, but overall I would recommend it. It’s conveniently located to Sturbridge, MA and the quiet northeast corner of CT. It’s a good value for the money.

the restaurant chooses were not good. Shades had a very limited menu. I had to send back my prime rib, because it was undercooked and very fatty. Visions had a good selection of food, but you had to pay $17 per person. Maintenace did not keep up with the trash around the property

I loved that this was a historical building and the lounge, rooms and elevators all have that charm. The fact that it is a conference center meant there was a nice pool and hot tub, as well as a lovely courtyard with gorgeous hydrangeas. The breakfast buffet seemed pricey at 17 dollars but was on point for all of its offerings: including quiche and wild blueberry sauce, as well as sweet cut fresh melon, etc…Good bed and not far from Providence (close to Old Sturbridge, Basketball…next time).

The breakfast wasn’t free, and although there was an ok selection, some of the food was cold. I felt it was overpriced for what was offered. This was one of the cleanest hotels I’ve stayed in and everyone was really nice. We definitely enjoyed our stay.

We picked this hotel because it had a pool basketball court and it said arcade. The pool was good. The basketball court was OK except it really needs to be swept once in a while. There was not an arcade. The room was comfortable and fairly clean. The TV was very difficult to operate to be able to change channels. We ate dinner at shades and it really was not good. The breakfast was equally disappointing. It didn’t taste like anything was fresh. It’s your typical breakfast found at any other hotel with just a little bit more but then they charge you’re almost $20. If it’s a buffet, I really expect to fresh food not tasting like everything’s out of the bag. To be a three star hotel it would’ve been nice to see flavored water and coffee and tea in the lobby. Will we be back again probably not

The hotel was built in a former optical factory and the exterior is quite unique and beautiful. Unfortunately the interior seems to have lost most of its charm during this transformation and it generally felt a bit dated (very early 2000s vibe) and perhaps a bit past its heyday. That being said, the staff was pleasant, it seemed fairly well maintained and clean, and the pool and fitness center were nice amenities. It is also only a 25-30 minute drive to Brimfield, so a nice location if you’re coming to the antique market.

Came up from out of state to visit friends so we weren’t in the room much. Very clean and friendly front desk. However, on our first night, we ordered food and then walked down to the bar. I ended up forgetting something in our room so my wife went to the bar and by the time I came down, our food was being delivered so I grabbed the food and walked over to my wife to let her know the food was here and immediately one of the bartenders told me to leave and I couldn’t have food there, which I understood in a second later, the manager came out and was telling me I need to leave again. There was not many customers there only my wife and maybe three other people. Wasn’t arguing with them to stay was just telling her and let them know. We are trying to pay so she can leave. Besides This the property was nice

First time we have stayed here. Staff was friendly, polite , and professional. We were given a room away from others as there was 3 wedding parties staying at the hotel. Food was excellent and nicely priced. Ate dinner at the bar where the waitstaff was awesome. Next morning we did the breakfast buffet. Food was good! Overall a great stay. Would stay there again and recommend it highly!
