Ramada by Wyndham Cumberland Downtown

Really didn’t see any amenities. Did not use gym. Pool was closed.

Odor of varnish or a cleaning solvent in room, halls and elevator. Pool closed. Fitness center closed. A lot of deferred maintenance. Only one ice maker on top floor. The shampoo and conditioner bottles had been left fron prior stay and were half empty. Would not return.

Inside the room is nicer than the exterior and lobby, which I prefer if I had to choose. One of two elevators out of service. Also, All six floors must go to the 6th floor for ice, as they have disabled the third floor machine. Vending machines are present, but also disabled, requiring all purchases to take place at front desk. Price paid reasonably reflects overall quality, comfort, and service provided.

This property's website says there is a bar and restaurant. there isn't. it hasn't been open for 4 years. The air conditioner barely worked, Luckily it was cool outside. The whole property was seedy and dirty. The television only got one channel, the Food Network. They will never see me again.

The pool was not open, still had the winter cover on. One of the elevators was out of service the whole weekend. The clock radio in the room was completely dead. When we checked out, there was no one at the desk. Had to deal with someone on a computer screen. Not good.

Very disappointing stay at Ramada Cumberland., The hotel was very old, not clean, elevators not working, ice machines not working, breakfast offerings sorely lacking including rotten fruit. The facility itself was in disrepair including mismatching carpeting, missing carpeting in areas, drapes that had probably not been cleaned in a decade, and a train display showcase that had visible thick dust all over it. This photo on this site, is NOT the Wyndham Cumberland; oh how we wish it was. Our stay would have been much more enjoyable.

Pool, one elevator, public restrooms not working. Didn’t see breakfast area - everything looked like it was closed or not working. Room was old and outdated and bathroom was dirty.

Place was fine for the price, but the elevator was very sketchy & jerky - posted sign said elevator certificate available upon request

Hotel needs an update/refresh. One elevator and the automatic front door were out of order. Breakfast was very limited and very cold in the dinning room. Convenient walk to restaurants, train and visitor's center.

The location is okay but the hotel itself is absolutely terrible. There is no front desk staff prior to 3pm. Instead you're met by a kiosk with a guy with a heavy accent from who knows where. He doesn't have the ability to set up any changes to your room or early check in. We asked to talk to the manager and the man muted and spoke on the phone with someone and told us the same answer. There is no restaurant, no store, only 1 elevator, the rooms smell and are dirty. The pool is also completely overgrown and unmanaged. Just a terrible place to stay. It's turned me off Ramada brand completely

The property looked very old and run down. The lobby was a mismatch of old beaten up furniture and it smelled of weed in the elevator. There were many surfaces in the room that needed cleaning. There was splatter of something white over the bathroom sink, the tub surface was very stained, there was a smearing of something on the headboard, and things just looked very run down. The breakfast had only a couple options. The sausage gravy for the biscuits and gravy was kept sitting out a concerning temperature, I was just like warm. That and the make it yourself waffles were the only warm breakfast options and we honestly were not sure if everything was safe to eat so we left to get breakfast elsewhere. The area and the hotel felt a little unsafe. I’m sure the historic downtown part was quaint but we only stayed over night and arriving in the dark it did not look like a place i would like to stay longer.

The bathroom was not clean especially the tub

The only thing they clean in the room was the floor, the air conditioner was plugged and gross, the shower wouldn't drain because it was so pluged with hair from NEVER being cleaned, even the walls were dirty

Kinda gross. Smells like stale cigarettes and just very worn down.

I've stayed here before, but was disappointed during this stay because my room was pretty dirty. The bathroom was particularly gross. There were stains/steaks from a previous guest in the toilet, and mucus was caked up in the sink. There was also a hole in the wall that had not been repaired - it looked like a former guest had punched the wall? All together, it just made me feel uncomfortable, because I wondered what else had not been cleaned. I also think the breakfast is a bit disappointing. Most options are loaded full of sugar: waffles, honey buns, white bread, apple juice, sugary yogurt, etc. I'd like to see some healthier options available.

My first room curtains had poop and pee on them. They gave me another room which was dusty and curtains had dry blood on them. When i was leaving i did checked room to see if i left anything and when i looked under bed which dirty then with popcorn kernels and i found a mcdonalds reciept from 11 months ago and i saids something to front counter and he just did not care or apologize for anything gave me my receipt and left the counter

DO NOT STAY HERE! Blood was in our toilet. There was dried urine on toilet seat and floor. Bath tub was black with MOLD. Comforter had stains on it and nightstand and bed had dried white stuff on it. The entire hotel was NASTY. Manager name is KP. He was zero help and had the I don't care attitude. Furniture is worn and outdated and just gross. Didn't want to even sit down. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!!!

Hotel is bad condition. It’s run down, poorly maintained. No hot water and the hotel smells of cigarette smoke.

A very dated property. Very noisy Cargo train operated throughout the night/morning. Front desk staff was rude & indifferent. Our non-smoking room smelled like cigarettes! We will not be returning in this lifetime!

The bed was super comfy. Good sleep. That was the best part. The walls are pretty thin. We listening to the guy in the adjacent room have an animated phone conversation for over an hour. I wish there was a mute button. The front desk help were personal and welcoming. The overall appearance of the hotel is pretty old/cheap, but the location and price makes it worth the stay.

Great location for the events in the area. Price is very reasonable. Beds are comfortable

Great price, easy on and off the highway. Our room was on the side facing the railroad tracks, so pretty noisy when a train was moving by. One of the two elevators was broken, so it was a wait, when going up and down. Breakfast was included and was pretty basic.

The hotel needs some work. Only one elevator works. The room had some peeling plaster. The breakfast was ok but not outstanding. The really bad thing was the trains that run by the hotel all night long.

Its a really old property and it shows. I was hoping that with Wyndham buying it out, that theyd have put some money into a renovation since i last stayed here like 4 or 5 years ago, but no such luck. Its a place to sleep but not much else. Bed is comfy and the water pressure is good and the rooms are sized reasonably.

We stayed one night there . The room was clean but the housekeeper didn’t put 2 shampoos and the only one used before !! The staff were friendly ! The breakfast score is 7 or maybe 6 ! The coffee had a bad taste !!

Nice evening staff. Room and elevator rather beat up. Water pressure in shower really low. Nice maintenance staff.

Its built right beside a freight railway yard. Don't get a room on the East side. Most of the freight car noise ends at 11 pm though. TVs are not Smart, which is a bummer too for netflix fans.

Laundry machines broken. Ice machine broken. Pool closed. Used ice machine on 6th floor - Hallway was like a sauna. No exhaust fans in bathrooms. We had 2 rooms. One had a strong marijuana smell. We informed the front desk and they somehow rectified the problem while we went out for dinner. Kudos to staff for that!

It was a nice clean room in the area I needed to be. Staff was excellent!

I am a train buff and generally request a room facing the railroad tracks for that reason. It had been over a year since my most recent stay at this Ramada and one change that I immediately noted was a kiosk at the check in desk where you use a touchscreen to interact with a live rep to check in and out. This is apparently in place for when the desk is unmanned by a regular desk agent. Upon my check in, the regular desk agent was just coming on duty so I checked in with him. Upon checkout the following morning, no desk agent was present so I used the kiosk....spoke to agent on the kiosk screen who confirmed my info and had me drop my room keys into a box on the desk. Stay itself was comfortable, clean room. One thing that is needed is a window cleaning service. .. Exterior of my room window was very dirty, looked like it hadn't been cleaned in years. One of two elevators was out of service and a sign was affixed to the in service elevator advising guests not to hold door open as it would delay things for other guests needing elevator. I found this to be discourteous as it would basically cause the door to slam in the face of fellow guests trying to enter the elevator... Breakfast consisted of the typical Continental breakfast choices of cold cereal, bagels, fruit, waffles and was satisfactory. All in all, my stay was satisfactory and I will return again for future stays.

I am a 76 yr old disabled women and was put out the hotel because I asked for a sheet and blanket. I was told they could not provide it. I said I would call corporate so she said I could get a refund. I stated I did not ask for one. I proceeded to board elevator to go to room and she yelled miss you can’t go to the room. I said I’ve already paid so she then told me she was refunding my money. She said you have to leave. So I was told I had to wait 2-4 days to get my money.I was told to request it thru Expedia

I was very disappointed in the service of this hotel. I remember when it was the Holiday Inn. The guy at the front desk was friendly but his his lack of professional appearance said a lot about the downward spiral of this hotel in the last few years. The hotel was a no smoking hotel, yet when the desk manager went out to smoke it was right near the entrance. When i walked back in with my bags, the entrance way reeked of smoke. The room was clean but the towels looked a bit shabby worn. The dining room was very disappointing. I was expecting a better selection of breakfast items. The room looked like it was under some form of renovation process. I had to come out to the front desk to ask for more coffee. I appeared that the staff is a bit short handed.

The over night front desk clerk was amazing

Parking was at the side of the building and didn't seem particularly safe. Room was great, quiet, clean and had everything we needed. I didn't like the check out. Not having a real person and using a machine... Not sure if it was AI or some kind of zoom connection but not impressed.

Difficult to find staff on duty - front desk was empty both morning with a sign stating someone would be along shortly. When staff showed up they were curt and unfriendly Room definitely could use a good cleaning. Limited options for the continental breakfast

Front desk agent wouldn't let me check in because I wasn't 21, and he knew if before I came, because he said "you're the one." I understand the rules, however Expedia let me book the nonrefundable rate, knowing my age (they did give a refund). The agent was extremely rude and wouldn't even let me charge my phone to call my mom, even though she paid for a room, after I had biked 150 miles to get there and a storm was coming. And if the agent knew I couldn't stay before I arrived, why didn't the hotel send notification? I know nothing else about the property because I didn't stay.

I've stayed here several times, it's my go to spot when stopping in Cumberland, MD. The historic downtown can be a little sketchy at times, especially at night, so I always follow the lighted streets to the center city area.

This is an older hotel and looks nothing like the picture. Parking area has no lighting at night and several homeless people are nearby.

Hotel location was excellent however the hotel backs up to a railroad track and room options are limited because of it

I did not like the noise from passing trains. I liked the check in process and the staff was professional and kind.

Nice area right by historic district

This hotel is great if you want to be walking distance to dining and shops in the downtown, as well as historic trails and museums. Staff was friendly. Rooms were average- clean. Bathroom was good, vanity was small in the double queen room. There is a train that runs right behind the hotel- was surprised we were not woken up by it but we asked to be on the other side of the hotel so we slept like babies. Overall a great location and great value compared to other hotels in the area. Will stay at this property again.

Is close to most sites.

Wppe and easy. Great location although near train tracks with noise. Tune that out and great location for everything and it's right eo ntown for walking to parks, B&O railroad, dining and shopping.

Parking was limited in front but okay in the unmonitored side and back. Rooms were clean but outdated. Only one elevator was operable. Breakfast was limited with the only hot cooked item being gravy and biscuits. For the price it was acceptable. All bicycles are stored in a lobby side room.

I chose this hotel because of the restaurant. Upon arrival, we were told the restaurant was closed for renovations. The areas of the hotel that have not been renovated yet are disgusting. Staff at checkout completely ignored me as I tried to check out. Terrible. I would never stay here again!

This hotel is dated but is serviceable. We did not get a chance to see the breakfast but it was free. The lounge is or has been closed for a while.

My stay was great. The room was nice and clean. Most of the staff was nice. I didnt like having to go to a different floor for ice. The vending machines didnt work. The night i checked in the person at the front desk tried to charge me a second time for my prepaid room. The breakfast they offer was not the best. Cold biscuits and gravy. Stale cereal. Dried out pastries. The waffle maker was good tho. Check out was quick and easy. It was an ok hotel.
