Howard Johnson by Wyndham Bangor

Our room stunk like cigarettes, we asked to be moved and the second room was the same. We were on the second floor. My guess is the upstairs rooms used to be smoking rooms and they never changed the carpets, etc. We went to the store across the street and bought a bottle of Febreze to try to get the smell out and opened all the windows but it didn't help. It was graduation weekend so every place else was booked so we were stuck with a stinky room. The bed was comfortable and the rooms were clean. There was a giant rip in one of the curtains but it did not negatively effect us. Staff was nice enough. Breakfast was a bagged microwavable sandwich. We passed on that. If I were to stay there again I would make sure it was in a first floor room.

General conditions were “in need of repair”. Staff were friendly so not an issue there. General appearance of hotel itself is it needs a renovation.

Clean room

Very clean room, room had temperature control that worked, and staff were friendly and helpful,
