Bavarian Inn Lodge

This place has it all. Nice waterpark, outdoor pool, indoor pools and hot tubs that are separate from waterpark, arcade area, dining options, putt putt, bowling, gift shops, rope course, rock wall, laser tag, and more. Easy walk to river place shops. Your family will not get bored staying here.

The photos on the hotel website don’t do it justice. We tried this property based on a recommendation from a friend, and it was fantastic!! The amenities are great! We travelled with our 2 sons, ages 9 & 11, and we all had a great time. The lower level of the hotel is full of family friendly entertainment with arcade areas, a 3-story ropes course, laser tag, mini bowling, mini putt, and hotel guest-only pools and hot tubs. The hotel staff were very pleasant and helpful, and delivered a rollaway bed in less than 10 minutes after our request. Oma’s restaurant was great, and they provide a nice room service menu for all meals and late-night snacks. There’s lots of options for food, sweets (ice cream shop in the lower level) and onsite bars. The water park was fun with several large slides, a wave pool, lazy river, and lil’ kid fun zones. Food and alcohol are available, along with locker rentals for a fee (though I find $17 USD is too expensive for a small locker). There are lots of tables and seating available in the water park for a convenient dry spot to eat (or enjoy some vacation drinks while the kids go on the water slides). The River Place Shops, Zender’s restaurant & marketplace and all the downtown shops are walkable from the hotel. The parking lot at the hotel is massive but super full from hotel guests and day visitors, so it’s best to use the unload area at the entrance then park wherever you can find a spot to avoid a substantial walk with luggage in tow.

Great time and fun all under one roof. Like how you can access pool and arcade facilities early prior to check in.

Much larger and busier than we expected, but very clean and family-friendly. Rooms were comfortable, and having the fun center and splash park in the lodge were so convenient! Lots of pool/hot tub spots and variety of arcade games. We didn't eat at the on-site restaurant, but plenty of options were well within walking distance. Fitness room was better than expected. The nearby riverwalk was also great for an after dinner stroll. The city was well cared for and felt very safe.

Very nice location. The new waterpark is great! The entire place had everything, you don't have to leave if you don't want to but it's great being walking distance to downtown if you do want to stroll through Frankenmuth. I do wish there could be a dress code outside the waterpark in the hotel areas. Overall wonderful stay and look forward to our next trip!

Always fun to spend weekends and holidays at the lodge especially they added the new waterparks my kids love it all.

Parking is pretty terrible, but there is so much to do there

The new water park there is very nice! Lots of pools and an adult pool with a walk up bar! Downtown frankenmuth has lots to offer only gripe the rooms have a small bathroom and could use a slight refreshing of the ceiling and walls but the beds were comfy! Lots to doin the hotel as well!

We only have great things to say about this property. The place is impeccable when it comes to cleanliness and customer service, everyone we encountered was friendly. We enjoyed playing yard games out front while listening to the live entertainment and of course the kids 15&16 had a blast in the water park. We feel prices at the resort where fair giving it’s a tourist town. Everything is within walking distance and easy to navigate. Multiple restaurants are on site and have a good variety of items to chose from in addition to multiple arcades, sweet shop (ice cream and fudge) ropes course, wall climbing, mini bowling, mini golf, pool tables, adult only pool not only in the waterpark but also in the main hotel as well as another family pool and 2 water slides. Gift shop has convenient things you may have forgot at home along with drinks and snacks. Build a Bear is on site also for the littles. Don’t second think it…..hit that book now button.

Beautiful German-style architecture! Staff is friendly and efficient. Rooms are spacious, comfortable and clean.

New waterpark was definitely the best thing. Room was pretty average. Sink was clogged and drained slow in bathroom. Toilet would randomly run. Bathtub had a weird musty smell in it. Ceiling of room had old cobwebs and dust in the corners. Mattress had weird stain on the side of it. If the waterpark wasn’t there idk why anyone would stay the night sadly.

We stayed two nights and we love the water parks! It is definitely good for age up from 5years or order, but overall it was great experience for my family. HOWEVER, the hotel wasn’t impressed. First thing we noticed, floor was damp, so I asked front desk and they said it could be the weather but hallway wasn’t feeling damp at all. They brought fans instead of changing our room. One of fan’s blades was broken and when I turn it on it hopped, so I had to turn it off. Unfortunately, the fans didn’t even help the room feel better. Room also was filthy. A lots of dusts on the ceiling, wall, table and standing lights. We didn’t receive any housekeeping the next day. We even tried calling the main desk to inquire about the availability of a housekeeper, but when we returned around 4 pm, they were still absent. Consequently, we had to go and collect our extra towels. My husband and I had a terrible night’s sleep due to damp sheets, blankets, and pillows, but at least my kids had a great time at the park.

Waterpark was awesome! Hotel was clean and in great condition! I enjoyed the stay!

Very very clean.

The hotel is beautiful. The pools, water park and gaming area are all 4star IMO. The dining is great. Entertainment wise for families you cannot beat this location. Especially, in this area of Michigan. However, the rooms are disgusting! The ceiling of our room had inches of dirt on it going to an exhaust fan! It likely has never been cleaned. There was dust all over everything. The bed smelled terrible. I called for clean bedding. I had to clean the Jacuzzi before we could get in, there was stuff all in it. The night staff who came were incredible. They gave us credits and apologized. They said the morning management teams would be down to handle the problems, but they never cane. We left the next day. If we return, we will pack more cleaning supplies. Bonus*** NO BED BUGS** yep, I checked everywhere!

Everything was perfect, from check in to leaving. The room was spotless, service excellent and water park was so much fun!!, easy to navigate. Had an amazing time.

We had a whole needful stay at this hotel. The room was clean and very nice. Shower water pressure was excellent! Staff very helpful and friendly. It’s a big hotel so lots of walking. Parking can be hard to find sometimes especially while water park is open. Food I. Restaurants was very good.

Waterpark was great, quiet and no lines. We always love the town and did as usual as our first visit in fall. Our room was just ok, needed to get both tub and sink unplugged as we discovered both drained vvvvvveeeerrrrryyyy slowly. Had to remind them multiple times that we were waiting for someone to come tend to them. Took 24 hours after our check in to address the problem. Also cobwebs on sink fixture, clearly showing no one had cleaned them in a long time. You can do better for prices you charge!

Rooms need to be updated. A/C ran for 15 seconds, barely cooled off room. Beds were very uncomfortable.

We enjoyed our stay. The staff was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the arcade, ropes course, and the new indoor water park. The room was a standard hotel room but clean and included a mini fridge and microwave.

Check in was a little slow due to amount of people checking in and was very hot while waiting. Room was nice and clean as usual but the bathroom was very small in this particular room. New water park was nice but just not for us. Thankful they still have the adult only pool area! Fun center is always fun but $100 for two pizzas, bread, four soft drinks was a lot. Even so, we had a lot of fun playing games! We love all the shops around here and have been coming for years. We always stay of the Bavarian Inn!

Rooms are very outdated and extremely small bathroom

Very disappointed in the sleeping accommodations. The beds were horrible and the sheets barely came up to the pillow, forget the blanket, which ended far below my shoulders. It was impossible to adjust the sheets and blanket, and was completely uncomfortable to sleep in. The noise levels of the other guests were ridiculous, children screaming and running up and down the halls at all hours of the morning and night, and could clearly hear what was going on in the room next to us...

Clearly a place for kids and families. Quite loud. Could hear people in the hallway and tv next door. Smallest bathroom I've encountered. Overall, dated and pretty basic.

I like the idea of this hotel more than the reality. I went with my 2 sisters for a girls weekend. We tried to use the “adults only” pool and hot tub, but the pool was too cold and the hot tub was at capacity with only FIVE people already in it, so we went to the big hot tub. It was Sunday night so we hoped there wouldn’t be too many kids. There were still a handful of kids at 9pm on Sunday night, but it wasn’t too bad, however, the water was only lukewarm and the chemicals burned our eyes. After that we went to our rooms for a bad night’s sleep on beds that were too small for 2, and really bouncy moving every time someone shifted position. We had breakfast at Oma’s which was pretty good tasting, but overpriced. A side of fruit is 9.50 and the $5 hot cocoa was tiny. Sadly, I don’t think we will stay there again. It might be fine for a family trip with small children and a king size bed.

Room was spacious and comfortable but bathroom area was tiny. Also there was a shuttle but didn't seem to run very frequently so there was a lot of walking all around the property to get to everything. Otherwise a fun stay.

Heating unit so loud it kept us up all night, even with ear plugs. HVAC units should be updated with quieter brands.

Loved the new waterpark. My kids and I had a blast on the new and old slides. The arcade area was also fun. Overall the hotel and common areas seemed clean. Our hotel room was very dated. The pullout sofa mattress was absolutely terrible. The springs were mostly broken and it had many rips in the mattress. The sofa bed was impossible for our teen to get the least bit comfortable. Our two queen bed mattresses were extremely firm and it was very hard to get comfy and fall asleep. All nine of our pillows were like firm bricks. We were excited they were hypoallergenic, but all of our necks were pretty sore the next morning. We appreciated the shampoo and conditioner in the shower. It left all of our hair very soft and shiny. I think they need to replace all the carpet in the rooms with a hard surface flooring. The carpet looked so worn down and dirty. We'd probably stay again, but I'd need to bring our own pillows and request an updated room. And if we booked another family room, I'd definitely pull out the sofa bed to make sure the mattress was in a condition conducive to sleeping in comfort.

While the overall property and amenities are fine, the lack of staff training diminished the experience. Both my wife and I had asked for our room to be cleaned 5 times over the course of our stay and the room was never cleaned. We had to get new towels, take out the trash and restock the room ourselves.

The front desk staff was not friendly or helpful. I made a mistake when reserving a room and arrived one day prior to my reservation date. They had vacancy and were willing to allow us to have a room on the date of our arrival but would not work with me and move the reservation to the actual arrival date. They quoted their cancellation policy and I had to pay for 2 nights even though we only stayed one night. I was traveling with my grandchildren who were looking forward to using the indoor water park. I asked if they would refund 1/2 and they refused yet when I spoke with a supervisor the next day, she said they should have just moved the reservation from one day to the actual day of arrival. Staff was cold, unfriendly and unwelcoming. My grandchildren sensed the unfriendliness from the staff and still talked about it when they got home.

Desk help should have a map to help customers find the elevators to their rooms. It’s a large hotel.

Excellent service and extremely nice staff

Tried to call about reservatoins prior to arrival, we were placed on hold indefinitely, finally hung up. When we got there, the front desk was swamped. Lines were excessively long and showed lack of preparedness. The waiver forms were confusing, and I was told that every adult present needed to fill out a form for every minor present before we could get our rooms. Then there was an "express" lane for check-in which confused everyone, because no one was sure what the "pre check-in" consisted of; most of us believed scanning the waiver form and filling it out was the pre-check-in process. Walls were thin and we listened to folks in the halls well until 1am. Sleep was shortened by garbage trucks and their beep-beep-beeping quite early in the morning. There was a bit of confusion over what our wristbands allowed us to do, and when we tried to go on the ropes course, we were told our wristbands weren't the right ones, and we had missed the cutoff point for getting the ones we needed. And let me assure you, nothing about this facility is inexpensive. You can try to ignore it, but it feels greedy and corporate. The classic bait bottles of water that your children will innocently pop open and cost the family $6 are in place, as are the $4 bottles of water in the vending machines. The place is a money grab.

Our stay was nice, the only problem we had was we had to wait in line over 40 minutes to check in ! There was only two people at the counter and one was tied up with a customer for some time. They should have had more people to check customers in. This was at 5pm on a Wednesday, the time we got our things in our room and went in town to shop the stores were closing up! We had to leave the next day so I would recommend a minimum stay of two night for a enjoyable stay.

The property is under construction and the new waterpark was supposed to be ready, but our experience was still very positive. The best part of our stay was the staff: we had a few minor issues during our stay (not problems with the Bavarian Inn) and every staff member was enthusiastically helpful. It was a great stay and I am sure we will be back.

Property was great it gets a bit confusing walking the property at first; but after you figure it out you start realize the gem of the property. The staff was great in every area!

We were there attending a conference. The staff members are absolutely amazing! So friendly and delightful to have to work with.

a great stay at this stylish hotel. There are restaurants and a souvenir shop right on site.It’s just a short walk to the downtown area, so the location was perfect for exploring the town.

The family enjoyed the pool options and also that there was a putt putt course. The hotel was close to everything with restaurants and shopping.

We just did an overnight visit... so we did not use the water park facility... which is really something! The hotel is VERY LARGE. So plan to do a lot of walking between indoor dining, front desk, room and restaurant. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The walk to the shopping area is lovely... crossing a covered bridge on property. The hotel is geared towards families and those arriving to visit Bronners Christmas. The hotel is very clean and offered a comfortable room.

Property was well kept and a good location for ease of attending the Main Street. Unique hotel and lots for a family to do.

We had a great time at the Bavarian Inn! From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The staff were friendly, the food was delicious, especially the famous chicken dinner and there were so many fun activities to enjoy. We were at the water park mostly and explored the shops nearby. This water park is amazing! It is the largest one I've been to and has plenty to do. It was the perfect mix of relaxation and family entertainment, and we’re already looking forward to going back!

the parking was scarce due to people using up all the parking for the water park and those that were stay over guests had to park way out. The food at Bavarian inn resturaunts was not very good and very high price. Food tasted freezer burned and over cooked. Omas was ok food but a ridiculously high price........rooms were quiet and clean. staff was curtious and friendly. couldnt walk the grounds really due to people walking around smoking pot which made it a not so nice leisure time.

Family fun hotel. We had omas restaurant for dinner and breakfast, both really good. Breakfast is very busy so best to make reservations.

Very expensive for what it was. The coffee was horrible. You dont have to offer breakfast but at least good coffee or an option to purchase a good cup of coffee. Even their restaurant said all they served was the sludge from the same machines that were located around the hotel. And of course no free breakfast and restaurants were very pricey. And the room was very antiquated. For all the updating you would think they could update the rooms. The waterpark was nice, location was nice. But wont pay the extra to stay again. I want more out of the room itself for that price and it just wasnt there

I liked that the hotel was classy and clean and had a lot of entertainment for the kids. Staff was really nice. The Waterpark was big enough and organized enough, it was also clean. I didn’t like the fact that the water felt cold and considering how cold it was outside it also felt cold inside the Waterpark. I was shivering everytime I was out of the water. The food at the buffet for Sunday brunch was pretty good and a good variety. All staff was fantastic. The gardens are beautiful and everything downtown is walking distance. I would recommend staying here.

The Bavarian Inn was amazing! Even though we didn't have kids and weren't at the hotel for the water park, there was still so much to see at the hotel and around it that we had a great time. The personal touch of suites having local people and their history on the walls really touched us. Our suite was very comfortable... loved the whirlpool! Staff were amazing, caring and always interested in us. The local restaurant was good, and the brunch we attended was great food!

Our room was very clean and spacious. We ate at the restaurant inside the hotel called Oma’s. It was very busy, but the staff was very nice and the food was delicious.

Great for a quick family getaway. Lots to do for kids young and old alike. but bring your wallet! Layout confusing. Would like sign of what floors the various activities are on in the elevator. Pleasant staff. Fun water park. Good food in restaurants.

I always enjoy my time at The Bavarian Inn. The new splash area was awesome! We rented a cabana and truly enjoyed it. Lots of great drink options, and the food was good also. The food prices were actually really reasonable also.
