Location is great for events at Hillsdale College, but this hotel has some issues. The front desk staff is friendly, but several of the clerks are, let's say, undertrained. We had to have our keys remade a day after checking in (along with everyone else that clerk checked in), and they can't guarantee you'll get a first-floor room until you get checked in, regardless of prior requests and check-in date/time. (There is NO elevator on the property.) Rooms themselves are nice. But bathrooms are dated and tiny. The continental breakfast is very sparse, with no fresh items and all toaster/microwave based. It's an older motel that's been updated, but not for many years. We stay there several times a year for Hillsdale College events, but frankly, that's only because it's about the only game in town. Next closest hotel is 20 miles away.

Staff was very nice. Didn't have time for breakfast this trip, but it's been good, if a bit sparse, in the past. Rooms are dated, but clean. Hotel has little competition nearby, so this is why it works for them. Hotel has no elevator for 2nd floor.

Wish there was an alternative available in Hillsdale. This hotel is getting worse every time we stay there. Breakfast is marginal, hotel is noisy, no elevator, housekeepers are very nice.

They DO NOT have an elevator to get to second floor but do not let you know when you make the reservations and I had a handicap person traveling with me. The front desk assured me they would be able to help me with our bags and they did upon coming in but no one would answer the desk phone to get out, another guest helped me get our stuff down the flight of steps. Thank god for him.

Room smelled musky, didn't have a working remote for TV and no one could figure it out, and the room wasn't very clean. Had someones dryed up eye contact stick to my food after using the hot tub. Hot tube was gross, had dirt and gross scum come out of jets in hot tub.

The hotel was nice, clean, and friendly. The staff was helpful but the TV service stinks. We had to call the front desk to reset our TV. The pool was also very cold for an indoor pool.

The rooms were clean and staff was helpful. Location was convenient. The pictures online however showed better than the actual condition. Hot tub wasn’t working, free breakfast was packaged pastries more like a convenience store variety, and there was no restaurant onsite as listed as one on the amenities on a few sites. The other real bummer was the smell of weed as you walked down the hall. They also charge an extra $50 a night which was a surprise and definitely not worth the cost.

This Days Inn is a 2 story building. No elevator. The ice machine is on the first floor along with snacks.If you have a problem with stairs it is very unhandy. The positives on this hotel is the receptionist was very helpful and courteous. We had a problem with the cable in our room. We called the front desk and she tried to tell how to remedy the situation. When that failed, she came to the room and finally figured out the problem. Carpeted floor in sleeping area, tile in bath. Iron but no ironing board. Clean throughout. Breakfast was packaged items that could be warmed in microwave. Cereal , fresh fruit , coffee and OJ and apple juice. Yogurt and packaged omelet to be warmed again in microwave. I don't do stairs because of illness, so once in the room my leaving the room was thoughtful in the process. Did not agree with them putting a $50.00 hold on my credit card for incendentals. It is just what they do. Will stay again except making sure a first floor room is my choice.

First room smelled like wet dog. Moved us to a second room that smelled better. Every morning you could hear the housekeeping staff complain and curse at each other. We stayed Sunday to Thursday. The sign said housekeeping was on Wednesday’s, but I guess that didn’t apply to us. Never got our roomed serviced. When we went to the front desk all she said was “I just got here, I don't know.” Would rather drive 20 mins and stay at a larger chain.

Bathroom was clean, no problem there. Bed & bedsheets were clean, no sign of bugs or anything. The furniture itself.... holy cow. Filthy. Cloth couch and armchair, yikes. Discolored, stained and dark on the arm rests. Carpeting needs to be replaced with tile or something that does not feel damp underfoot. We wore our shoes from the bed to the door.

This hotel was pretty much what we expected. Pros: polite and friendly staff, clean sheets/bedding, cold a/c Cons: Dated, shower smells like urine, no elevator to the upstairs (could have told us that before walking all the way down the hall twice looking for it, lol), mattress springs, carpet, and furniture were stained and nasty.

Thin walls--I could hear phone conversations next door happening in normal voices (not yelling). It seemed televisions were always on around me. Hard to sleep if you like it quiet.

Clean room, clean bathroom, very comfortable beds, the fridge was nice and cold. The only issue was the TV had some connection issues with DirecTV, but the picture quality was good when it was working. I would stay here again!

The staff was really friendly. The room was clean. The only disappointment was I was unable to sign into my own Netflix account as their WIFI had been disabled. Other than that was a pleasant stay.

I can't say anything about the condition of the room because they no showed me and gave my room to someone else, even though I called ahead of time and told them that my rooms were not going to be used the first 2 days but we would be checking in on the Friday and Sat. When I called to talk about this with a manager she was rude and unwilling to offer any resolution even though it was bad communication among staff. She hung up on me . When we visit again, we will be driving to the next hotel.

They couldn't find my hotels.com reservation, so I had to pay $60 more than quoted to stay 2 nights. Also breakfast was kind of scarce, maybe because we were later in the morning. Beds were comfy.

I had used a third party site to book my room, which they recieved, but for some reason they wouldn't book me the room after already paying for it, then charged me a second time, with a promise of a refund. Its been nearly two weeks now and i still have not recieved the refund, I've called the hotel and no questions were answered.

The check in experience was complicated. It was late, I was ready to check in and go to bed. The front desk employee said there system was down and she would not he able to check me in. She didn’t know when it would come back up, therefore even with a reservation she couldn’t guarantee me a room for the night. I had to suggest she call her manager for help.

The staff did not know how to handle computor issue leaving me unable yo be checked in then turned out into jight without hotel to stay in rural area. I was told to take issue up with Expedia to refund money. Staff was unwilling to reach put to management. This happening at 10:00 at night after working 13 hours and expected to return to work with no sleeping arrangement

It's an older motel that's been updated, but not for many years. We stay there several times a year for Hillsdale College events, but frankly, that's only because it's about the only game in town. Next closest hotel is 20 miles away.

Location is great for events at Hillsdale College, but this hotel has some issues. The front desk staff is friendly, but several of the clerks are, let's say, undertrained. We had to have our keys remade a day after checking in (along with everyone else that clerk checked in), and they can't guarantee you'll get a first-floor room until you get checked in, regardless of prior requests and check-in date/time. (There is NO elevator on the property.) Rooms themselves are nice. But bathrooms are dated and tiny. The continental breakfast is very sparse, with no fresh items and all toaster/microwave based. Have stayed here many times over the years. The staff has always been extremely friendly and helpful. The location and ease of parking has always been good. The hotel could use some upgrades as very little has ben done over the years. There is no elevator, but staff offered to help carry our luggage up to the second floor. room. Room was quiet and clean.

The hotel is one of the only ones in the area so because of this I believe they don't care as much to take better care of it because travelers don't have very many options. The staff is usually friendly and very helpful. The breakfast needs to be upgraded to more of a fresh meal with options such as eggs, sausage, bacon, oatmeal, etc.

This is the only place to stay in town. If there were other choices I would have chosen them. When you have a monopoly you have 2 choices. You can put no effort into improving the business because the customer has no choice. OR you can do as the only hardware store does, make it the best hardware store I have ever seen. I don't blame the employees, they were great. I blame the owner.

The staff was not overly friendly or helpful. They weren't unkind, just mostly indifferent. The room had a bit of a smell to it, but it seemed clean. Breakfast was minimal and basic. Cereal, toast, microwavable rolls/eggs, etc. We likely won't stay there again.

In desperate need of updating and repairs. Floor Grout in bathroom, nonexistent, very outdated corner shower with rusty rod to hold the curtain. Furniture was very old and did not feel clean. Breakfast was cereal, toast, microwave waffles and pastry bars. no protein such as yogurt or eggs. Apples were provided as fruit. No water for drinking, was told i could get water from bathroom ...

The rooms were clean and staff was helpful. Location was convenient. The pictures online however showed better than the actual condition. Hot tub wasn’t working, free breakfast was packaged pastries more like a convenience store variety, and there was no restaurant onsite as listed as one on the amenities on a few sites. The other real bummer was the smell of weed as you walked down the hall. They also charge an extra $50 a night which was a surprise and definitely not worth the cost.

Woman working the desk was great, and seemingly the only employee apart from the cleaning staff. Only hotel in the area, so fine for the basics, but toilets didn't work great, halls were not great-smelling, there was no blanket on bed, and the one day we wanted new towels and cleaning it didn't happen. We'll be in the area again and will stay again, but competition would do wonders for consumers.
