Although the pictures make this appear to be a well-maintained hotel, it is not. The elevator being broken when we arrived was the least of our issues but a precursor to things to come. Upon arrival, we discovered that the mattresses were stained and dirty. We ended up sleeping on top of the comforters using our blankets. We were forced to rotate out using the TV and charging our electronic devices, as we only had two working plugs in the room. While we charged our phones, we decided to go for a swim, only to discover a pool that looked like it hadn't been shocked adequately since it opened for the season. Lastly, and by far the worst part, the carpet in the room was disgusting. Everyone in our party refused to walk around barefoot as the carpet felt like you were wearing crusty, sweaty socks when you stepped on it. We had to resort to requesting and laying down additional towels so we could walk around after a shower to get dressed and still feel clean. We will not be staying here again, and I have filed a complaint with Wyndham, as this is by far the worst representation of the Wyndham brand I have ever seen.

First impressions count and the first impression here was of dirt. The whole property could use a power wash. The sliding doors do not open all the way. The outdoor pool was really green. Not at all what you normally get with a Baymont. First room, the door lock was broken. Second room, no batteries for remote and once batteries were found all channels were unavailable. The actual room was fairly clean and quiet.

The price is decent, and the front office people are friendly and helpful. I’ve read many of the bad reviews, and while they make valid points, they seem to exaggerate the negative aspects. We stayed for three nights and did not feel unsafe at all. Yes, the rooms are outdated and smell slightly of cigarettes. Our room was moderately clean, perhaps swept but not mopped. We went barefoot in our room and the soles of our feet were black within a half hour. We found no bugs, other than one bothersome fly. We only had one bath towel for two people, and they had no extra blanket to give. They did give us an extra towel upon request. The breakfast was decent: scrambled eggs, sausages, toast, bagels, cereal, yogurt, coffee, fruit juices, muffins, apples. They tended to run out of some items part way through. It was easy to walk to Arby’s or Denny’s restaurants for lunch and dinner. There is an exercise room and even a pool, although the latter was green with algae and not open.

Our room appeared to be clean, but our microwave and fridge didn't work. The elevator going up to the 3rd floor was extremely slow and we honestly didn't trust it to work so we always took the stairs. The pool was also not in working order.

We pulled up, looked it over and canceled our reservation. We never checked in and are demanding our money back as the property is nothing like it is pictured. Pool full of dirty brown/green water. Boarded up windows.

One of the worst stats in a long time. Property had experienced neglect unfortunately and needs attention. Battery missing in smoke detector (beeping until I disconnected it), wall patches need painting, interstate noise thru window that wouldn’t shut completely, exterior 3rd floor security door wouldn’t shut completely and frame loose, carpets need replacing, lobby vending machine broken, pitiful breakfast consisted of a loaf of bread and empty coffee urn. I’m sure more issues that I didn’t see during my short stay. I did get a great hot shower tho so all is well!!

I do not recommend this hotel. The lobby needs a major cleaning including vacuuming and carpet cleaned and or just all new carpet throughout the entire building. There was a smell throughout the lobby, elevator and halls. Our room was cleaner than any other area I seen and didn’t have a smell like all the other areas. The remote did not work, there were burn holes in the sheets and the sheets were yellow, the toilet paper holder was broke, there were cigarette butts in the heater/air unit. There was quite alot of traffic (people) everywhere hanging out in hallways, outside by the rooms and in the parking lot all night. The positive about this hotel is the staff! The night and morning ladies working were amazing, very very good at there job. Whoever owns and or manages this hotel should be thankful they have the staff they do.

This place smells like urine and cigarette smoke. Blood on the wall of first room we were booked, bugs in the room and many stains as well, room window didn't lock, cigarette hole in the curtain of a nonsmoking room. Room light didn't work when we came in. I almost vomited in the hall from the all the different smells. This place also has long term tenents. Second room I saw was better but still had an awful oder. I've stayed at a different Baymont before without an issue what so ever. This is the only hotel I've ever left and couldn't stay in. The manager Erick is nice and seemed hard working, he said he's been there for 4 months and trying to turn the place around. I wish him the best.

The rooms are filthy, the whole hotel smells like smoke. The smoke alarms were going off 5 minutes after i walked in the room to check it out. People were outside yelling. It was definitely not to a standard of what they advertise by any means. I asked for a refund and left within 10 minutes of being there and they refused to refund my money and said I had to call the customer service number. I would not recommend this place.

It was super sketchy. Our outside door wouldnt lock, the air conditioner leaked all over the floor, the toilet made noise all night, terrible lighting, no toilet paper, minimal tissues, and loud neighbors/homeless people.

Door was open when we got in and for the whole night the electric key card was obsolete as the door wouldn’t lock. No batteries in the tv controller. Bathroom door completely off the hinges. Perfect place if you just want to sleep in a bed and do nothing else.

I check into the room and the door was not safe. The interior door lock was broken and I told the desk and she tried to move me to another room. I went and check out the room, it was unsafe. I stayed in the original room.

AC Unit and TV didn't work. It was almost 90 degrees in there. I couldn't stay in that room under those conditions. Then, they told me there was no other rooms available when I asked for a different room, which I highly doubt that. I ended up going to another hotel and paying for another room elsewhere. Now I have to battle Expedia to try and get a refund, which I'm sure will be a nightmare and end up not getting my money back.

Carpeting needs to be replaced, the "freezer" part of the fridge was almost full of ice and needs to be defrosted, and the microwave was dirty on the outside. Didn't look inside as I had nothing to heat. No extra pillows, no blankets. The bed had only a sheet and very thin bedspread. I was too tired to get out of bed and call. I think this hotel is used mostly for long-term work related usage. I was not able to get the exterior room that I requested.

The pillows in my room were disgusting andIwouldn't putmyhead on them. I got different ones from the front desk. The door handle to the room did work properly. I had to make sure it returned to the locked position to close or it wouldn't secure when closed. The screw (singular) on the bottom hinge fell out and the hinge became detached.

I asked to get house keeping after 5 days and never had room cleaned,maintenance doesn’t fix anything I door would close and lock but it was on there list to be fixed never got fixed.had a power issue for over 24 hours and never got a discounted rate during the power issue had no air conditioning,no television,no hot water and limited lights in room would never recommend that place to anyone stay away

This place STUNK there was people loitering outside. They decided to cancel my reservation after I told them I would be coming in late because of a flight delay, then proceeded to denied my refund. There was roaches outside, do not recommend at all! People at the front also had 0 customer service skills.

I would give ZERO stars if I could. DO NOT bring your families here. The lobby smells.like bad body odor and weed. Prostitutes in the parking lot, homeless people in the outdoor corridors, and they rented us a room on hotels.com that was being used for storage. We couldnt even get into the room. It was a terrible experience I was only checked in for 10 minutes and they charged me the weekend and now wont give me a refund. The app wont let me upload pictures. The pictures used on hotel.com are corporate stock photos. The place is disgusting and dangerous.

When we went to check in, the hotel didn’t have a room for us. They overbooked. Several customers were in the lobby complaining about their rooms. Smells and cleanliness. I had to book another room at the hotel across the street. The hotel STILL charged my card for the stay and is refusing to refund my money even though I did NOT stay because THEY ran out of rooms. STAY AWAY!!

We cancelled our reservation at the Baymont Kalamazoo on Monday after receiving a call from management saying there was a power failure and we would be unable to check in with the power off until 730. We were still charged even after contacting them to cancel. Expedia are not also helping to verify or get our money refunded. That is ridiculous being charged for a room we cancelled… it wasn’t even our fault. We enjoyed our previous stay there a week prior.

This has been by far the worst hotel I’ve booked. The hotel is disgusting , the front desk agent Karina has absolutely no customer service what’s so ever, nothing can be done without the manager, the manager is no where to be found or to be contacted . I could not even sleep at that hotel I with my children , it wasn’t safe and clean for them. I paid , and also paid a deposit , and the hotel has been ignoring me and not giving me my refund back since Saturday. I had to leave and go book another hotel for my children’s health and safety . The manager Erik told me he will approve my refund and deposit with Hotels.com and he declined the approval.

First reservation, the hotel tried to cancel and then charge me an additional $25 per night. I got that straightened out, had to request a refund and redo the reservation completely. The second reservation, first room had no peep hole, just a hole into the hallway. The second reservation, second room smelled like smoke, and there were ashes in the bathroom and on the nightstand near the bed. The sheets had dirty paw prints, the towels were damp, and there were no other rooms available. This is 3 hours into the ordeal with check in and being on hold, so I grabbed my spare travel sheets and blankets out of my car and went to sleep. Woke up with bug bites. I booked a room with an exterior entrance and was given an interior room.

The staff when we checked in were on point and very helpful. During the overnight of our stay the hotel/property lost water service. The overnight lady was as solid as she could be given the circumstances. She informed us that the G.M. was aware of the issue and would answer questions relating to the cause of the loss of water and potential refunds. Still have not heard from the Hotel/property G.M. I realize that issues and concerns happen in all businesses. I'm not sure that this issue has been handled efficiently or correctly.

I do not recommend this hotel. The lobby needs a major cleaning including vacuuming and carpet cleaned and or just all new carpet throughout the entire building. There was a smell throughout the lobby, elevator and halls. Our room was cleaner than any other area I seen and didn’t have a smell like all the other areas. The remote did not work, there were burn holes in the sheets and the sheets were yellow, the toilet paper holder was broke, there were cigarette butts in the heater/air unit. There was quite alot of traffic (people) everywhere hanging out in hallways, outside by the rooms and in the parking lot all night. The positive about this hotel is the staff! The night and morning ladies working were amazing, very very good at there job. Whoever owns and or manages this hotel should be thankful they have the staff they do.

The police were taking someone out in cuffs when we first pulled up, there was trash all over, abandoned construction equipment laying around haphazardly, drug deals in the parking lot, inside smelled like urine and cigarettes... the only positive thing I will say was the staff were decent and didn't give me a hard time canceling the remainder of my reservation. That's the first and last time I stay there, never again!

Worst hotel I've ever been to! First 5 minutes of checking in, we run into a dispute happening out on the front lawn, multiple cop cars and women screaming. The entire vibe was eerie and unsafe, we weren't the only guests who thought the same... You had dogs and kids running around the parking lot and front lawn area like it was a giant park, with constant noise and sketchy people who roam around and actually live in this building, not cool. The woman running the place treats it like one big house, kids in the lobby, people sleeping in the entrance downstairs, just madness. For the rooms, my god. Mold along the bottoms of the baseboards like it's been flooded multiple times. The dirty prints and sticky floors, bathroom door had holes in it, lots of flys everywhere. Bed sheets smelled like sweat or something, don't want to know. To say the least it's just how you would imagine it to be in a hood movie. 😂 Do yourself a favour and spend the extra bucks somewhere else!!

Employees were just incredibly helpful. Management was awful. The room reeked of cigarettes to the point where after a one night stay - all our clothes smelled awful when we were home. The floors stained our feet black. I had to make multiple requests just to have pillows on the bed, a remote for the tv, someone to check that it smelled like a chain smoker went through their entire surplus; and I felt bad for having to go back and tell them that all the utilities were unplugged. Bathroom door didn’t shut. Within minutes of check-in, had someone show up to our room looking for a drug deal “haven”. We went to west earlier and it was horrific, and drove laughing about how it couldn’t be worse. At night, we got to see a car with a giant sledgehammer break in their windshield. Just don’t go to either of these. Staff is wonderful, but they know how bad it is. Good luck.

Very disappointed with my stay. The hotel smelled awful, I almost threw up as soon as I got off the elevator and started walking down my hall. I did not feel safe at all, the stairwell doors do not lock or stay closed and there was trash laying all over. The room was pretty run down, the outlet didn’t even have a cover on it and there was no comforter on the bed, just sheets. The breakfast was laughable, juice machine didn’t work, only cereal was plain corn flakes, only bread was plain. Definitely would not recommend!

No electricity, no hot shower, front desk couldn't give us a key to our room. "Power is supposed to be on by 9pm" Yet they were still open. Couldn't give me a refund as prepaid through hotels dot com. We had chosen this hotel as it was close to the highway and our dog was with us, pet friendly. We stayed less than 2 hours.

By far the worst hotel I've ever been. A lot of vagrants hanging around, people smoking weed in and around the ptoperty and have strong feelings that the ladies in the lobby were prostitutes. After checking in we went to the room. The halllway was dark and the carpet was extremely dirty and smelled like cat piss. After getting to the room we decided to leave to get dinner. Upon returning, my son felt unsafe and asked if we could go home. We decided to leave and find another property. Total waste of money!!! Anyone reading this, please stay away!!!

The best part, the beds were comfortable. A little sketchy area though. Had homeless and drug users roaming around property. Had the cops there a few times while we stayed.

Staff and service was friendly, but the amenities were terrible. The hotel did not have breakfast only toast, cereal and coffee. The hotel and the rooms were not very clean and lacked security. Overall, I was not satisfied with the services that I received.

First room given was smoke filled. Second room we had to try the keys three times and they did not work. We were then switched to a third room, which was okay. Breakfast offered was VERY limited. We went to the Denny's instead. Needs major improvement!!

Mold on mattress, bathroom. The “ blanket” on the bed was thinner than a sheet. Windows leaked when it rained. The entire hotel smelled like weed. The breakfast was just about non-existent. The juice dispensers were empty. They only handed out coffee cups when they were asked. Arrived at hotel after having dinner out and the parking lot had 3 cop cars there.

Room and environment was pretty dirty compared to other Baymont facilities I’ve visited. I travel for work constantly. This room was not cleaned before us and the room freaked of smoke pretty badly. Also, I got to the breakfast which was supposed to be from 6-9am and at 630 nothing was out yet and I had to leave.

Good: People at reception, Bed Comfort, AC Bad: Several 1. Breakfast is just scrambled eggs, toaster, pancake makers are broken, Breakfast area is not clean 2. Strong weed smells in the hallways and at the entrance 3. Entrance Trash can area is dirty, somebody vomitted.

I thought it was a great hotel for the price you pay for. Only complaint would be that the pool was green and the breakfast there was hardly an option.

They took an extra hour and a half to quality check the room, when I finally got in there, there was one towel, no toilet paper, the door didn’t lock, everything was obviously dirty and since I unfortunately paid in advance there was apparently nothing I could do. I’m terribly disappointed in Expedia for grossly painting this place as somewhere decent when it was the worst experience I’ve ever had in my life. I don’t think I’ll ever use Expedia or stay at another Baymont in my life. It was incredibly unsafe, the water kept getting shut off, there were no blankets, it was cold and uncomfortable. The staff was ridiculously unhelpful and I feel like I would’ve been taken care of better at a homeless shelter. The continental breakfast was a complete joke. Literally a loaf of bread set out with some peanut butter. I can’t believe how bad it was. I have no clue what services I paid for but I definitely feel like I got robbed.

Our room door wouldn't lock. Didn't need a key to get in. Just pushed on door and it opened. Went down and told the front desk and she just acted dumb founded. Second time I went and complained I asked for a different room which she said there was none and then I asked to speak to a manager which she said wasn't there in the evenings and that she would try it and get maintenance there to look at it. Maintenance never showed we tried getting it to lock on our own but it was too messed up so we got no sleep because anytime we heard something in the hallway we were worried somebody was going to come in. As of date still no phone call received from manager
