This is a wonderful hotel! It's simple, cute, and charming. They have a nice heated outside pool that we enjoyed. The staff was very helpful and we were able to buy tickets to the Shepler ferry and the lumber Jack show. They even called a shuttle to pick us up from the hotel and take us to the ferry. The rooms were nice and affordable. We would definitely stay again if we are in the area!!

The American boutique Inn was an adorable property right in the heart of Mackinaw city Michigan. It was an easy walk to the fort, several beaches, and downtown. It was a quaint and beautiful little property sitting on a beautiful street across from several beautiful homes. The beds were very comfortable, and the room was well appointed. My only slight complaint was at the shower, kept switching from scalding hot to ice cold. However, the staff were so accommodating that I think if I had mentioned it to them, they would have fixed it right away. The staff at the front desk were so nice. They got us everything we needed and very quickly. The pool was also very nice and my daughter swam after a long day at Mackinac Island. They offer a quick shuttle to the ferry and you can even buy tickets with them. They have refrigerators in the room and a Keurig coffee maker. On the back of the property they have a large ice machine, soda machine, and a microwave you can use. That worked really well for us since we were eating several meals on our own, trying to save a little money, not eating out. Overall, we loved our stay at the American boutique Inn and would definitely stay again!

This has become my go to place to stay when I go to Mackinaw City! The check in staff is always friendly, the rooms always clean, and the pool! It’s so warm and clean. The grounds are great, lots of places to sit out in the garden area, and it’s just across the street from a few parks that you can walk along the lake and have great views of the Bridge. It’s also one of the more affordable places in the city (even during peak tourist season) but doesn’t sacrifice quality at all. I always recommend it to people I know heading up there! 100% will continue to return!

The room was very clean and that was a priority. The bed was comfortable, the desk guy was friendly and helpful. It's right across from a little park on the shore, made for a fun picnic. The pool looked inviting but didn't swim. The only drawback was that there's no elevator and the steps to the 2nd floor weren't inviting. One rail is a little loose at the top.

The hotel is within walking distance to dining, beach and parks. Parking was a breeze. The staff was very helpful and the place is just serene. I was worried about the swimming pool, as most of the rooms face it and it is open until 10 PM. Fortunately, it was not an issue. The guests were very considerate.

It was a very nice and clean experience. The reception desk was very prompt with check in and parking was very easy. We enjoyed the pool after a day out seeing attractions. We will definitely stay again when we are in the area.

This was an ideal location - only a ten minute walk to the ferry! The staff was very helpful, and kept coffee/tea/hot chocolate available any time that the office was open. We felt safe walking in the area, even at night. The streets / surrounding properties seemed to be well kept. I would highly recommend, and would like to book a slot the next time we visit Mackinac Island. Rick & Heather B.

Everything was very good except for the tiny toilet. If you have knee or hip issues, it will be difficult to get up. Also there is no elevator so make sure you get ground floor. But it’s only 2 levels anyway

This place is clean and the staff is excellent. Just know that it’s old and somewhat rundown. The sink in the room should’ve been updated. To close the bathroom door, you have to straddle the toilet or go sideways along the side. Water pressure was good. Also when we first opened the door, there was an overwhelming cleaning chemical smell. A few hours of an open window cured it. It satisfied our needs though.

We booked a book a room with a king bed. The room was small and there wasn't much room to walk between the end of the bed and the desk. The bathroom was very tiny! Front office was helpful when we could get the AC to cool and always professional.

The A/C unit is too noisy and blower works too strong even on the lower setting. The vanity top should be replaced or resurfaced. Also a lack of any towel bars or hangers. Great comfortable mattress on the King size bed.

Very nice location and friendly front desk staff. Good view of mackinaw bridge from our room and walkable to mackinaw city. Rooms were fairly clean given the age. This is a very old and outdated hotel which i can deal with. But the fixtures like sink and shower knobs were loose and falling apart. Beds were a matress with a board under it and a frame, very uncomfortable. Rooms are so small especially the double bed rooms. Cute outdoor decor and a pool area is pretty at night. If rooms were updated and they fixed up the place a bit i think itd be worth the money but in its current state i am not sure it was for us.

Had a great stay, really like this place. The only issue I had was in the morning there was no hot water for a shower. This is my second stay and will stay there again but the morning shower with no hot water was issue both times. Great place and very friendly.

This quaint hotel is THE BEST! The room had every comfort imaginable. Beautifully decorated. Super clean! Kevin was such a kind gentleman. He arranged transportation for us to the ferry and offered excellent dining tips. 5 stars for sure!

I had gotten ill on the first day in the hotel, personal reasons, had to be taken to the hospital. Hotel treated my daughter so well. I cannot thank them enough. They made sur they had a room for her every night needed, and in the end did not charge her.

It was a perfect spot right next to the bridge, right across the street from the bridge. It was also walking distance to downtown. We also like it was family/privately owned. We did have issue with our toilet.

I really enjoyed staying at this hotel. First off, it was extremely clean, which is very important to me. Secondly, I loved the location. I was able to walk everywhere I wanted to go. Shopping, restaurants, Shepler’s were all less than 1/2 mile away. Additionally, there were parks all around this hotel. Right across the street was a beautiful park with a fantastic view Mackinac Bridge! I will definitely stay here the next time I come to Mackinaw City!

Clean, quiet, and won't break the bank. There were little extra touches such as a Keurig-like coffee maker, which was so much better than the crappy coffee makers in most places. In what might pass for an average place, these extras elevate things, like the chocolate on the pillows. The pool was immaculate. Not the Taj Mahal, but you don't need to be wealthy to have class.

Pros: Location was great, right across the water with beautiful view of brdge. Bed was lovely king-size. Cons: Bathroom was well below expectations. So small could almost touch opposite walls at same time. Couldn't turn in shower. Shower/bathtub very dated and could have been cleaner. No restaurant on-site.

Clean, nice staff. No view of the lake or bridge as suggested. Nothing for breakfast - for 180, expect at least continental. Plumbing is antiquated - spent quite awhile trying to get the shower mix valve right - was either frigid or nuclear - finally gave up. Again, for that cash, it should be modernized from 30 years ago.

I chose this property because not only did the description mention continental breakfast, it memtioned an option to choose your bagged breakfast, and a wine and cheese hour 6-7pm. None of these were available. Its one of the furthest from town bit close to lale huron. Unfortunately since it didnt offer breakfast or the adult.happy hour we won't choose this next yr

I didn’t even realise this was a motel until the desk clears mentioned it at checkout. I typically choose hotels with free breakfast, but due to the popular and overpriced location, I went for this accommodation. I would absolutely stay here again, and have no problem recommending it. Bakery options around the corner conpensate for no breakfast. Clean, simple rooms.

This is an older property -- no refrigerator or microwave, no breakfast, an outdoor ice machine with a scoop. But the rooms were very clean, nicely appointed, and serviced. Front desk help was friendly, and the location for my purposes was excellent -- within walking distance of everything, including Lake Huron which was just across the street. Surprisingly quiet and peaceful. Would be happy to stay there again.

It is a clean, small motel 4 blocks north of the town. An array of dining locations and costs within a 5 minute drive. The room itself was small. It had a K-cup machine and small fridge. No microwave. Large TV
