It was an excellent pick for weekend stay, great shuttle to the ferry no parking for day on Mackinac Island. Nice beach bar and fire pit, good breakfast right on property. 24 hour pool and hot tub. Will definitely stay again!

Nice location right on Lake Huron and only five minutes from the ferry to Mackinac Island. Building and rooms were a touch outdated but very comfortable and clean. There is a nice bar/restaurant steps from the hotel which is a nice touch. There is a 24/7 pool/hot tub that can be used by adults and a fitness center (I did not use but seemed to be good options). Ample parking and great location. Would stay again!

My main complaint is about the first floor, which goes down 8 steps on both sides of the building. Had all our stuff loaded on a cart only to get to the steps and have to carry everything by hand. Of course, our room was at the end of the hall, a bit of a walk. But, I must give the concierge credit for helping us carry our stuff to the room. Would not stay here again.

Beautiful view and loved the bonfires in the evening. Plan to return next Fall. The only reason I did not give 5 stars for the property is there is not enough parking 🙃. We arrived on our second night to zero parking.

The restaurant was a whole vibe!!! The hotel has everything from lemon ice water to coffee, 24hr hottub/pool, firepits at night on the beach. Very friendly, upbeat staff. Its truelly is a whole vibe!!! I felt very much soaked in and relaxed into this vacation. If i knew it was this magical i would have skipped Mackinac island and came straight here

We chose Breakers Resort based on its website and positive reviews, hoping to try something new during our visit to St. Ignace. While there were some highlights: the beautiful Lake Huron view, peaceful beach area, quiet atmosphere despite the busy location, and comfortable beds, the overall experience didn’t live up to expectations. The staff was pleasant and the pool area was nice, but a strong chlorine smell lingered throughout the hallway. Stains on the curtains, broken-down chairs, and a thick layer of dust on the headboards made the room feel poorly maintained. The TV didn’t work, and although a note on the channel guide suggested calling maintenance, we decided not to bother since we weren’t there to watch TV. The bathroom was awkwardly laid out with a very small footprint. One particularly disappointing detail was a spill of blueberries on the stairs near our room that remained uncleaned the entire weekend, becoming embedded in the carpet. We also had dinner at the on-site restaurant, which was average at best. Overall, this property did not match the polished presentation on the website. It wasn’t a terrible stay, but it’s not a place we’d choose again

The hotel had a great atmosphere, and we loved that every room faced the lake—definitely a beautiful setting. However, we had some serious concerns about the cleanliness of the room. Our balcony had a dead bat or bird in the upper corner, where a section of siding was missing. Inside the room, there were two large stains on the wall next to the bed, which was unpleasant. The worst part came on our last night when we opened the nightstand drawer and found it filled with used Kleenex. These issues really took away from what could have been a great stay.

I gave a 4/5 stars for cleanliness, when we checked into our room we had dirty towels that were left behind by the jacuzzi, had to go to desk by the pool to complain to get those removed.

We've been staying here for yeas and the location is convenient to events, dining, and shopping. The building is getting old. Our room had a dirty sock unde the bed skirt and a used towel haning on the back of the door which was a little off puttling. We couldn't find the TV remote but the concierge was able to help us quickly.

Great place. I just recommend cleaning and dusting the window seals they were filled with spider webs and dead bugs. I’m one that do not like bugs at all inside. The patio had a lot of spider webs too. Nice restaurant and view. Other than that it was a good place. Room was great.

I loved the fact it was on the lake and easy access to the ferry. The room we stayed in was old not kept up and also we had bugs on the ceiling which was so disgusting and the room was very damp and humid.

The outside doors of the hotel are not secure. Anyone can get into the building at anytime. The lower level of the hotel has a strong musky smell.

Hotel needs renovation. Carpet was quite dirty. Bathtub was shaking while taking shower. Shower tape was not functioning well. It was fluctuating between cold and hot water. The tape on sink was too hard.

Was supposed to have view but through a patio door window that had a broken seal that clouded things. Restaurant closed on Tuesday but pizza place was supposed to be opened but wasn’t. Furniture too large for room size. Couldn’t use luggage cart all the way to room due to shorter staircase on floor.

I love having my room with the lake view and the sunrise. The facility is very clean. Couldn't sleep right away due to hearing people walking (as if with led feet) constantly from the above of my room.

We just happen to find this hotel on hotels.com excellent room with a balcony, a beautiful view. Listed as a slight view of the lake, but it had a great view of the lake. I had a fireplace in the room. The beds were comfortable. the beach was very nice and clean and it was nice that they had a Campfire in the evening. The continental brightness was one of the better ones we’ve had at a hotel. We would definitely stay there again.

The hotel is conveniently located and has a beautiful beach with accompanying view. Nightly bonfires are an added touch, even if you stay on your patio or balcony. The staff are all very friendly. The rooms (especially the bathrooms) are very small and could use some serious updating, especially for the price you are paying. You can most definitely hear everything in the adjacent rooms. I was leery of this as I have an autistic teenager who can be loud when excited or overwhelmed. The pizza is good; the breakfast leaves a lot to be desired. It does make a good location and atmosphere for a family vacation, but it's also a bit of a "party" set up, and the rooms and hallways have taken a little beating from it. That being said, everything was clean, and it did get quiet after about 10PM (and we were there on a Friday and Saturday night with a walkout to the beach).

Beautiful property with an amazing beach! Pizza at the restaurant was just ok. Rooms updated and clean. We were in room 112....the WORST location ever. Right by the lobby, pool, and elevator. So, much noise!!! Would have been 5 stars had we had a different room! Stay away from rooms 112 and 114 as they are so noisy! Not much sleep

Food at the hotel was amazing. The rooms were great and beds were very comfortable. But when I booked for a 50th wedding anniversary i booked with a patio and in the pictures it looked like a regular patio with a table and a step off to the sand. I also called to verify the room and was told by the staff “yes you have a patio and you step off on a sandy beach” It is not. it’s a slab with 2 plastic chairs and a plastic table. You do not step off into the sand you go through grass cross a sidewalk and then cross more grass to get to a beach that is very rocky. When I went to the desk the person there said “you can leave”. I was very upset at the “not so romantic vibe” Also as I was walking to my car another employee yelled “just leave”. The two faces that welcome people were horrible. The rest of the staff was amazing. There were a lot of kids there so the pool and hot tub were not really usable? The hot tub shot the water up and out of the water which was very weird and also young kids were allowed to go from pool in to the hot tub. If Romance is what your looking for… probably not here. But if you want a room it is good

Great location, great view and the complimentary shuttle to Shepler’s Ferry was much appreciated! The staff was kind and helpful. They also offer a complimentary Continental breakfast. We enjoyed the live music, the fire pits and the bar staff. Chris, the bartender, is great!

The Breakers staff--whether they worked in the lobby, at the concierge desk, or in the restaurant/bar area--all went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable and as enjoyable as possible. I highly recommend The Breakers and would stay here again in a heartbeat!

The staff were super friendly. We used their shuttle to get to the ferry dock. We had dinner at their restaurant that night and had a fabulous meal.

The property was easy to find and we liked that there was a restaurant onsite. The best part was having a waterview room with balcony gazing out at Lake Huron over toward Mackinac Island. We were able to see the sun rise beautifully over the island from our balcony! The staff was exceptionally helpful and friendly. I didn't get all of their names, but Beverly was particularly engaging and helpful. She also rushed to call us that we had left something behind so we were able to come back before getting too far away. Thank you!

Staff in the office didn’t know how to check in guests or how to adequately address any issues. Management not onsite very often. I was double charged and it took 5 days to get a refund back to my debit card. The girl at the desk offered little assistance other than to say I can’t help, they definitely need customer service training. I also told the girl in office my room wasn’t being cleaned and she ignored my comments. I spent most of my vacation trying to get my money back. We were there 4 nights, cleaning staff was around each day, But our room which was out of TP, conditioner bottle was broken the entire stay, and full of trash, the room was only cleaned once, because I flagged them down in the hallway. The restaurant food was good, staff were friendly, service was extremely slow. The indoor pool was full of sand, hot tub was extremely hot and filled with young children. Overall this resort has potential but after my experience, I can’t recommend it until the staff starts taking more interest in their guests and works on “acceptable”, customer service. Even if you can’t immediately address a guest issue, you should at least offer to try. It would have gone a long way. Overall very disappointed.

The room was nice and the shuttle service to shepplers was great. The only issue we had was with dinner at the hotel as my whole party got their food after a long wait and my wife's meal never came out until we Were all finished. They did comp us for the whole chech and gave me my wife's meal to go. Overall the resort is great and we will be back

Excellent beach access and on-site amenities. There’s not much in St. Ignace, but you don’t need to leave the resort, which is perfect. Walking distance to the Shepler’s Ferry. I would stay there again!

Nice location right on Lake Huron and only five minutes from the ferry to Mackinac Island. Building and rooms were a touch outdated but very comfortable and clean. There is a nice bar/restaurant steps from the hotel which is a nice touch. There is a 24/7 pool/hot tub that can be used by adults and a fitness center (I did not use but seemed to be good options). Ample parking and great location. Would stay again!

We had a great stay. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location was great, overlooking Lake Huron with Mackinac Island easily visible in the background. We had a room with balcony and great view.

Our stay at Breakers for a few days was great! The location, cleanliness and staff were wonderful. You can walk to food and local shopping. You can drive about an hour NW to “Rootbeer Falls” which was nice. You can drive 1 hr North to Canada for the day. The breakfast buffet, pizza restaurant , and Club restaurant were average. Very common food and conveniently located. Unfortunately our room was right across from the pool. Two of the nights, the chairs outside the pool became a hangout place so very loud while trying to sleep. Other than that, it was a very nice stay!

Excellent stay as always. Great views, easy access, nice beach, close to the docks. Hotel restaurant has the best food in town. When you get back to the hotel after a long day on the island you don’t have to go back out to get a good dinner.

Very nice updated hotel. We stayed here because of the convenience of the bar and restaurant on the premises. We stayed here three nights on the third night the restaurant was closed because of sewer problems. But they did accommodate us with drinks we could purchase to sit around the bonfire, took a little persuading.

Overall property offered decent food options and beds were very comfortable. Restaurant and water front bar were nice amenity. However, the included breakfast, while welcome, was fairly lame. For 3 days, the breakfast was exactly the same. I would think it would not be that much of a stretch to offer at least one different thing each day or every other day to offer a little variety.

Grounds were very well maintained. Rooms were immaculately clean and well kept. Staff was exceptionally friendly and attentive. All rooms have balcony overlooking the beach. Would have given more stars if it wasn’t for the hotel restaurant. The food was barely warm, tasteless and with no attention to their presentation. The service was awful, starting with the drinks. Order was taken and 15 minutes later, she couldn’t remember what we ordered. Waited another 15 minutes for the drinks and blamed it on the bartender. Don’t waste your money on their food.

Great property with updated rooms and wonderful views of Macinaw Island . The club restaurant was disappointing as the limited menu and quality of the food was below average. A Martini should never be served in a plastic cup and the Jambalaya was next to inedible. On the other hand the complimentary breakfast was very good. I would recommend dining off property for dinner though.

We had a wonderful time on our trip! The staff was excellent and very welcoming. We were told about a ton of tourist areas and some lesser known places to go that we would not have known about. The resort was all around a good experience. The cleaning of the rooms left a little to be desired. The room itself was mostly clean, but the floors in the corners had lots of debris and could have been vacuumed a bit better. The rocks on the shore make it difficult for people without some kind of water shoes if they want to go into the water (which really cant be improved upon) and The Club restaurant off of the hotel was excellent every time we had a meal, except, surprisingly; the last day. We had to wait about 15 minutes for a server to even welcome us and ask for drinks and waited over an hour to get our food. Every other time was great except that one day so I give it benefit of the doubt. Great food,great people, wonderful scenery. We plan on visiting again at some point hopefully soon

Great short trip up to the UP and Mackinac Island. Stay was great amenities were great. We had gotten dinner at the restaurant there and the waitress was rude and seemed like we were inconveniencing her our whole interaction. I do hope that maybe it was a rough day for her but she did not seem attentive. My husband even pointed out that we could tell that this was not consistent with the rest of the staff. She had also forgotten our pizza at the window for 15 minutes so it came out cold.

The staff were very helpful and friendly. The only disappointment was the shower gel was empty when I was in the shower. Doesn’t sound like much but when you go to reach for the soap and there is none, it’s a little frustrating.

Beautiful family owned resort hotel. This was definitely the best place we stayed at for our trip. Staff were friendly and helpful, the resort was clean, food was good, and it had its own beach. They had live music in the bar and made fires on the beach for everyone. You really could not ask for much more.

Our one night stay was very nice. The view from our room was fantastic! All the staff were friendly and kind. We especially enjoyed the bar/restaurant on the beach….and the pizza made right there on the beach was fantastic!

Room was good location with a nice view of Huron. Property was well maintained. The room had everything needed for our two nite stay. Biggest issue we had was the mattress needing to be replaced because the mattress is settling on most used side. Also the bed is too high off the floor requires step stool to get in. We did eat at the restaurant and service was lousy.
