The place was adorable. The owner in the office was fantastic. The room was great and the hot tub was wonderful. Unfortunately, we were put in a room next to a younger couple who put their TV on at 9:00 at night and kept it on (loud) until 4:30 a.m. This ruined our anniversary celebration to say the least, as we could not sleep. However, this was not anything against the property. Just inconsiderate people.

Upon arrival we were greeted by the owner and he was very friendly. The room was very clean and comfortable. The premisses were also very clean and they were quiet which made us very happy as we do not enjoy large or noisy crowds. Will definitely be staying here next time we are in town.

Unfortunately our starter went out on our car about down the street from the motel. We had to have it towed a very long distance back home so we called to talk to the staff. Staff said sorry about your car but no refund or booking a night in the near future. Not only a huge tow bill but we had to pay for a room we couldn't use. To bad that that's the way business is done today, all about greed and no compassion for anyone. I doubt that in one of the top tourist locations in Michigan that they didn't end up booking the room that night anyway. Very disappointing.

Starlite is a very well maintained facility. We visited in late September so availabilty was not an issue. The rooms and the property are very well maintained. It sits on a beautiful piece of property with many large mature trees, at least 3 firepits, and 2 grills available for your use (and a pool during season). Continental breakfast is barebones but it at least gets you going. I'd definitely consider again if we are ever in the area again. It's location is nice because you can get to Douglas or Saugatuck quite easily.
