We booked this as we drove into Traverse City and we are glad we stumbled upon it. We would love me to go back. Beautiful beach, nice amenities...game room, indoor pool, breakfast boxes provided for guests.

For the price I would expect more. The hotel was filled with noisy children running around the halls, lobby and hotel. They were screaming and running around until 1-2am. The room above me sounded like a bowling alley. There were so many kids in the pool I am sure they exceeded capacity. We attempted to use the hot tub which had no heat. The staff did nothing to limit the pure chaos. I thought it would end around 10pm because they said no minors in the pool after then, but it persisted. I guess they don't care about the other paying patrons. There were people sitting outside our balcony. They belonged to another room. They had a party there until about 4am. No sleep for us. I am not unrealistic and tolerated it until 11pm, but after that they should have said something to the parents. I never would stay here again. I was hoping for a nice beachfront for my daughter and I since we were only in town for one day, the beach looked nice, but it was too cold (not their fault). The hot tub was disappointing. We would have liked to enjoy SOMETHING.

Our family had a wonderful stay at the hotel. Its location right on the beach was convenient with a nice set up of chairs/umbrellas. The daily breakfast box was a good way to start the day. Rooms were clean. Pool was a bit on the small side and sometimes got crowded was the only negative

This property is overall okay, however leaves something to be desired when in regards to cleaning. Some of the rooms need a serious update, especially the bathroom. Our bathroom ceiling had water damage, mold in the caulk of the bathtub, rust around the sink and molding of the door. A dirty hair tie was left on our nightstand from the previous guest, leading me to believe the bedside tables weren’t wiped down between guests. Probably wouldn’t stay here again.

Very reasonably priced rooms. Nice rooms with a great view. There were a few areas that were overlooked during cleaning, otherwise it was fine. There were a few visable cob webs, the bottom of the nightstand hadn't been wiped in a while and the spare blanket had a number of stains on it 😕 For the most part staff was friendly except the young lady working dayshift. They gave us rotten bananas in our breakfast box and I waited very patiently for at least10 minutes while she checked in another guest to exchange them only to be greeted with annoyance. Like...what do you want...I hadn't even done or said anything geez. She was not pleasant.

It is a comfortable hotel for families. It shows some wear. The bed was comfortable. It is about 7 minutes from downtown so if you are looking to spend time there, I would suggest something closer. The shower was not clean (men's whiskers and shaving residue on the shelf) and there was mold around the enclosure and in the grout. I asked for a new room. They suggested they would clean and I was hesitant but they provided a new room that had been re-cleaned. It left us with strong chemical fumes. I could not keep sliding glass door open to air it out, as we were on the first floor facing parking lot so it is not safe or great to keep open all night. Unfortunately, both of the front staff seemed put out by my concern and I did not feel I could request further redress.

The location of this property was fantastic. It was also nice to have breakfast delivered to the room. Staff there was also kind. The only downside was that our toilet and shower head was not cleaned very well and although I did say something to staff it was not addressed at all by housekeeping.

Grand Beach Resort is well kept. The beach was nice with plenty of sitting. The rooms were clean and quiet. The staff was friendly. It was a close drive to downtown Traverse City.

Location was wonderful. The hotel was close to everything that was on our itinerary. Being on the first floor and walking out to the beach was a really great site to see. The only downfall is we had a bunch of kids at the room next to ours that kept coming into our spot in our little patio. Really wasn't much privacy there. there was definitely cobwebs on the ceilings and in the bathroom and when we first walked in our room, it reeked of smoke. We called the front desk and they came down and sprayed some stuff in the carpets. The freezer had little tiny gnats and bugs in it that were of course dead, but it was pretty gross. The ice machine gave us a few cubes and then it ran out of ice, but the beds were comfortable and being on the beach was great.

We really enjoyed our beautiful view of the water, and our room was nice and spacious, and seemed to be updated. However, our walk-in shower was full of black mold on the bottom of the sliding glass doors and in the tracks and yes, we did report it but nothing was done. We have stayed here before and did not have this issue. We did enjoy our stay and they do have a very nice pool and hot tub. It’s a nicely located resort, because it’s not far from downtown Traverse city and wineries are nice and close by.

The property was good as far as for convenience but I do feel it is lacking a lot for cleanliness and service. I understand with stand it is harder to keep clean but the floors and the threshold going to the beach have sands that have been there a while. I never felt clean after a shower. It was musty with poor ventilation and the bathrooms had an “old” odor. I think DAILY maid service would help keep the property cleaner rather than waiting for every third night. The beds were comfortable but the fit sheets would not stay on the mattress. We did enjoy the layout of the beach and the room arrangement was ok. The outside patio from the rooms needs daily sweeping or blowing as well. When we got there I noticed our outside area still had some trash in it and had not been swept or cleaned of debris for what looked like a while. I did report it and the hotel staff was there immediately with a smile on her face! So kind! We enjoyed the 24 hour coffees immensely. The boxed breakfasts were fine but would have liked to have had a little more choice in what was in my box. They were very accommodating for delivering our breakfast early for our 6 AM fishing trip.

Great beach views, first time in the suite. It was very dated, and the table's chairs were dirty. The biggest disappointment was the front desk. We called to confirm our reservations, but the man wasn't very friendly or helpful. However, the most frustrating was not being able to use the main room TV for Netflix. We couldn't get it to connect because there was no "source" on the remote. Called the desk for assistance - not helpful at all. Said he supposed he could call maintenance. No one ever came.

We had a wonderful room! King suite with a balcony that walked right out onto the beach! Came equipped with a microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, sleeper sofa. Comfortable bed. Breakfast included.

Traverse city hotels are crazy expensive. Room was large,the 2 beds were comfortable but the sleeper sofa was absolutely awful. Requested a rollaway & that was an additional $15/night on top of an already expensive room. Room wasn’t completely clean - crumbs on carpet. When we opened the bedding bag for the roll away bed there was a very large urine stain on the quilt. Needless to say we were completely grossed out! We brought it down to lobby & requested new comforter and were given a mattress pad cover instead. Just slept with a sheet as didn’t want to go all the way back to front desk. That was beyond gross & we were questioning how clean the other linens were at that point. Location was good. Staff friendly. Pool area was nice. Hotel is looking worn in the rooms & in need of painting etc. Breakfast was preordered the day before and a box with your selections was left outside your door at requested time each morning. Star bucks individual coffee in room,No daily housekeeping which for the cost of the room was disappointing so also no replacement of coffee or cups unless you went to desk to request. An okay stay but not sure we’ll go back as just seemed very over priced but that’s pretty much true for all Traverse City hotels.

Everything was good except for the lighting in the rooms. Everything was dim and made it so hard to see in there. You had to have the sliding door curtains open to see anything which isn’t ideal for changing or privacy in general. Also the only full length mirror was in the darkest part of the room. It wa every hard to get ready for a wedding in this room.

Nice spacious room with a great view of the lake. Totally worth the upgrade to have a balcony with lake view. Comfy bed. Breakfast was included, which is a delivered “box breakfast”. Nice to have it delivered to room, but not a great selection. Pretty “basic” for the cost per night.

The view is absolutely stunning. However, the balcony railing (aluminum) did not feel sturdy/secure and I’m not sure spacing between uprights actually meets uniform building code. I was uneasy with young grandchildren on the balcony.

The room was great. We stayed from Thursday to Wednesday. They NEVER cleaned the room. At check in, they told me that they would clean the room on Sunday. Nothing. We went to the front desk to get clean towels on Sunday evening. They seemed surprised to learn that no one had cleaned the room. The desk person said it would be cleaned on Monday. It wasn't. We got more towels on Tuesday. No one cleaned the room. They made literally no effort to fix the problem. I talked about it again when I checked out. "The manager will call you." No one has called. No attempt to resolve the issue has been made. The room was great. The service was the worst I have ever experienced.

We stayed for an anniversary celebration weekend. The front desk staff were so attentive and friendly. They created a Happy Anniversary poster for us and delivered it to our room. It was so sweet.

It is a comfortable hotel for families. It shows some wear. The bed was comfortable. It is about 7 minutes from downtown so if you are looking to spend time there, I would suggest something closer. The shower was not clean (men's whiskers and shaving residue on the shelf) and there was mold around the enclosure and in the grout. I asked for a new room. They suggested they would clean and I was hesitant but they provided a new room that had been re-cleaned. It left us with strong chemical fumes. I could not keep sliding glass door open to air it out, as we were on the first floor facing parking lot so it is not safe or great to keep open all night. Unfortunately, both of the front staff seemed put out by my concern and I did not feel I could request further redress.

The room was great. We stayed from Thursday to Wednesday. They NEVER cleaned the room. At check in, they told me that they would clean the room on Sunday. Nothing. We went to the front desk to get clean towels on Sunday evening. They seemed surprised to learn that no one had cleaned the room. The desk person said it would be cleaned on Monday. It wasn't. We got more towels on Tuesday. No one cleaned the room. They made literally no effort to fix the problem. I talked about it again when I checked out. "The manager will call you." No one has called. No attempt to resolve the issue has been made. The room was great. The service was the worst I have ever experienced.

This was our second stay here, and both times it was pretty good - like that they have some amenities and cool additions like the game room. I'm not a fan of the boxed breakfasts and I do wish you didnt have to ask for basic cleanup (we stayed 3 nights and they said they only do housekeeping after the 3rd night unless you ask). But it was comfy and the beach was nice and clean. Good service from everyone we encountered, especially Roachelle at the front desk. Hotel was pretty clean though a little beat up in the bathroom.

Hotel is very old, elevator bumpy and noisy. Bathroom from the 1980 needs a major update, beading and mattress was well over used, Lots of maintenance needs to be addressed. Broken door handles, etc. No water preassure and water was luke warm at best. Propery says no smoking anywhere, but staff cant bother to clean up cigarettes butts. Front desk un helpful and rude. Was not told that the hot tub was broken, when we asked to use the one at the sister hotel, after being ignored they finally agreed to allow us to drive over and use it, telling us: " well just because this one is broken" oh thank you! Since we are paying real money to stay at this old hotel / motel. It was not free and you are advertising pool and hot tub. So yes we expectd it to be operational Breakfast was a joke, they delivered it to the room. Very small terrible cup of so called orange juice, a unripe banana and a grose gas station muffin. Yuck! Only 1 night mistake for this girl, moved over to Hilton Tru. Thank good! This one has alot of customer service learning to do from hilton

We were so impressed with this hotel! The staff were all super friendly, the room and common areas were clean and smelled nice, the pool/hot tub was great, and the location was wonderful! Right on the beach, putt-putt/go karts right across the street, food within walking distance, and everything else a short drive away. The only very small issue we had is that they say they offer housekeeping every 3 days - on our 4th day we still hadn’t received services. We called to the front desk, they apologized and quickly refreshed our room to satisfaction. They do say they will offer housekeeping more frequently if you request. The breakfast boxes are a game changer - I wish more hotels did this! You make your selections, leave your choices at the front desk, and the next morning at your desired time, your meal is delivered to your door! We will be back!!

We stayed in October during the week when crowds were low. While we weren’t in the center of town it was easy to drive and park in town, using park mobile. There are plenty of good restaurants within driving distance. Also, we had a room right on the East Traverse Bay with a balcony. It’s a really nice spot.

Grand Beach Resort is well kept. The beach was nice with plenty of sitting. The rooms were clean and quiet. The staff was friendly. It was a close drive to downtown Traverse City.

This hotel is situated is a nice location for a visit to Traverse City - you can easily access many restaurants in 5-10 minutes drive and the beach is just outside your hotel room. The beach is very nice; actually a surprise considering I had no expectations of beaches on the great lakes having only spent times on Ocean beaches in the past. You can walk up and down the beach for a mile or more. Our room faced the ocean and allowed for nice mornings and evenings on the balcony. I would 100% stay here again. The breakfast is different from other hotels. You are given a choice of 4 boxes that are delivered to your room in 30 minute slots. Its a fine solution if you enjoy a smaller breakfast; but I could see where others might want a full meal to start the day, in which case this would leave some people wanting. The options we choose included: (A) Donut, Fruit, OJ and Water (B) Sausage Egg and Cheese sandwich (put it in the microwave), Fruit, OJ and Water The rooms were big and spacious and more importantly, CLEAN!

This is basically a beach town. Busy street in front of hotel with sidewalks to walk along the busy street. However, crossing the street was treacherous and there was limited places to cross. Not many restaurants nearby. The room was fine. Spacious with a patio. The beach was great with plenty of chairs for lounging available. Room could have been cleaner and the entire place is a bit dated. The breakfast delivery was wonderful. Good choices and a nice service.

Very good overall, although we are seniors and did not use the exercise or pool opportunities. Had some minor confusion regarding the room internet connection. Also we were surprised that the hotel did not offer dinners, and the recommended outside source had only limited offerings like fancy burgers etc.

Our room was clean with a beautiful view of Traverse Bay. Loved having the balcony to sit on and take in the gorgeous sunrises and sunsets The sites of boats on the horizon and sounds of water and birds added to the experience. The beds and pillows were extremely comfortable. Breakfast was great and having it delivered to the room was an added bonus. Staff was extremely friendly and very helpful. I would definitely stay here again.

We booked this as we drove into Traverse City and we are glad we stumbled upon it. We would love me to go back. Beautiful beach, nice amenities...game room, indoor pool, breakfast boxes provided for guests.

We have stayed at this hotel I think 7 times now and every time it has been a great family experience! The breakfast is maybe the only thing that I would like to see changed. It is a boxed mostly cold breakfast with the options about like 5 different boxes options like of a breakfast sausage sandwich box or a kids trix box or a hard eggs box. It would be nice to open up a breakfast bar/buffet which I think they had pre-Covid. But even with the boxed breakfast it’s still always in date fresh items so it’s perfectly acceptable food. And if you want a hot breakfast there are several restaurants close by. The pool is nice and warm and the hot tub is hot and well maintained. The beach has nice chairs and picnic tables and towels are available at the front desk.
