Liked how the Mermaid is right there where you can go bowling or the kids can play in the arcade. The Mermaid itself was short staffed but everything went as good as it could be.

My husband and I brought my son and his friends for a trip. They had a blast with the bowling alley, arcade, and food. They went checked out the mall of america and state fair while we stayed. Me and my husband loved the bar. Staff was incredibly friendly. Will definitely stay again and again.

The hotel was great. Standard hotel breakfast fare, but hot and ready on time (important when you're there for a sports tournament that starts early). The only downside was the pool towels were always out due to washing. I'm glad we brought our own.

Overall stay was excellent the first 2 nights the pool was down which bummed my child as they were looking forward to swimming but when it was fixed they thoroughly enjoyed it.

We found someone’s pill in our sheets of our bed. The bed was comfortable, but the pillows are not the staff could be friendlier. They all have a little bit of an attitude. The breakfast area is never restocked. Not sure why cause someone is working that area but they do not restock it very well

They never checked the room. I had to come tell them we were out of towels and toilet paper. The room had Asian beetles all over it. I killed countless beetles. The staff have expired soda in the coolers and do not like to help the guests with a problem. They charged my card almost double and said it was a “hold”. Which is not what the agreement was at the beginning. I will never be staying here again, will not use hotels again and will tell all my friends and family the same. Thanks

general manager at front desk was very kind, hard working and friendly. The room was very spacious, however some rips in the carpet here and there. Only 1 garbage can for the whole large suite. Went to open the pull-out couch for my child and found dirty tissue, old food and rice all over the mattress pad. Dirty sock also found in there which showed that they had obviously not cleaned the room thoroughly. I called the front desk at 11pm and the girl working apologized and came right up with a new mattress pad for us. Pool area was nice.

I came to the property for a bowling tournament so I really liked the convenience of the bowling alley being connected to the hotel. However, I did not like the bathroom at all. The shower was way too small for any adult and had no shelves or any place to put your shampoo or soap..

Overall this was a good Americinn but it was hard to get a good night sleep due to kids running overhead and what sounded like a jacuzzi running next door. All the noise was between 10 and midnight and we needed to get up at 5 am. No noise barriers.

the room itself was great! Had a room with a hot tub and was very nice and clean all around. Check in was another story. I arrived 30 minutes prior to the 3p check in time and was told I would have to pay $25 per room to check in early. The rooms were ready but they would not allow me to check in unless I paid extra. Never ever have had that before. So we had to leave and come back. So inconvenient. Breakfast- choices and quantity limited. Breakfast is from 6a-10a arrived for breakfast shortly after 9. They had 1 muffin left, no butter for your waffles, and waffle mix ran out and they had not refilled it. Sausage seemed undercooked.

Helpful staff…a situation right upon arrival was managed very quickly and we were happy with that service. A medical event with my mom was managed at 2:00am with the excellent staff and we are thankful for their help!! Definitely will be back…actually already in October we will return! Thank you!

Nice hotel and very convenient to get around the twin cities. When we stayed, the breakfast hours ran until 10 a.m., which was fantastic for those days we chose to sleep in a bit. Common areas including the pool were very well maintained, and the staff was incredibly friendly from management to housekeeping. The pool area is open until midnight with adult only time after 10 pm. Comfy beds, good pillows, and a very safe convenient location. We will definitely stay again!

Good place to stay. Not far from U Of M for medical needs. Would stay for other activities in the city if price was as affordable as last couple times but thats not alaways the case.

Good place to stay. Not far from U Of M for medical needs. Would stay for other activities in the city if price was as affordable as last couple times but thats not alaways the case.

Check in was easy, employee was friendly. Room was clean, but had a slightly musty smell. I think the fan in the bathroom was broken or wasn’t there so that might’ve caused the musty smell. Free breakfast was decent, really good waffle station. They changed the hot foods every day we were there, the eggs kind of tasted weird though.

We were very pleased with our stay at the Mounds View AmericInn. The staff were all friendly, the breakfasts were excellent, rooms were comfortable, location was great. There was a nice pool area (which we did not use.) We highly recommend.

the room itself was great! Had a room with a hot tub and was very nice and clean all around. Check in was another story. I arrived 30 minutes prior to the 3p check in time and was told I would have to pay $25 per room to check in early. The rooms were ready but they would not allow me to check in unless I paid extra. Never ever have had that before. So we had to leave and come back. So inconvenient. Breakfast- choices and quantity limited. Breakfast is from 6a-10a arrived for breakfast shortly after 9. They had 1 muffin left, no butter for your waffles, and waffle mix ran out and they had not refilled it. Sausage seemed undercooked.

The staff was capable, and the facilities that I used were clean, the breakfast food was disappointing.. the hot foods seemed of poor quality… most establishments can’t mess up eggs and sausage but I couldn’t eat it… the coffee was great though….

Attached to Bowling Center where we bowled. Food was very good. But…… Dining and bar staff not attentive. Maybe new hires. One person was only cleaning glasses. Long waits for food and drinks.

The hotel was great. Standard hotel breakfast fare, but hot and ready on time (important when you're there for a sports tournament that starts early). The only downside was the pool towels were always out due to washing. I'm glad we brought our own.

Booked the jacuzzi suite for 2 nights and as soon as we walked in the room there was a strong scent of either a cleaning solution or a perfume that lingered throughout the stay. The king size mattress was on a old metal spring frame and the mattress had no real cushion to it. The main door was very heavy and slammed shut everytime after entering the room. I attempted to slow it on one occasion to keep it from slamming and actually got my fingers pinched in the door pretty good. The curtains in the room were controlled by a built in remote and would not go up which was unfortunete since they were all the way down for our whole stay. Breakfast was basic egg and sausage. There is a bowling center/bar/arcade connected even though it is a decent indoor walk depending on where your room is. Probably would not stay here again if there are other options.
