Baymont by Wyndham Kirksville University Area

I have stayed at this property multiple times over the past few years. This is the second year in a row that I have been here though that the pool has been out of order. Last year it was empty and I believe being refurbished. This year it was full of water and again out of order. I don’t want to go to another hotel for my kids to swim. That’s not convenient. If they can’t get the pool to work, just take it off their list of amenities, because it obviously isn’t working.

Love staying here! Just wish the pool was functional, especially in the hot summer months.

Older but clean. Nice people. Outside entry door doesn’t always latch, allowing someone to enter building w/o a key… not cool

The breakfast options were decent. There was a dirty, very stained piece of furniture in our room and my husband almost cut his finger opening the door. Maintenance took care of the issues promptly. There was a cat apparently living in the lobby even though there are supposed to be no pets. The ice machine on our floor was broken and the pool was closed.

We chose this hotel mainly because of the pool. all of their information stated that they did have a pool, even had the pool hours displayed. When we arrived with our two grandchildren, they stated they hadn’t had a pool in two years, but you could go to another hotel in town and they had a reciprocating agreement with them to use their pool Very very discouraging.

It was with in walking distance to most food places on the south end of kirksville. The room was very well kept. To bad the pool was out of service. The parking lot was kind of small people with trailers had little bit of trouble parking and maneuvering.

breakfast could be much better. pool was closed again. there is a cat that lives in the lobby and sleeps on the luggage carts, in case you are allergic

The beds were extremely comfy! The bathroom sink was huge and lighting near the sink was great! However the lighting in the rest of the room was not good. It was super dark. The phone didnt work to call the front desk, none of the ice machines worked on any floor and we didnt get told the pool was down for maintenance until after we paid and were checked in. We may have went to a different hotel had we known the pool was down.

The room was half clean. Old trash and products left in bathroom from previous guests, blood stains on sheets, and lady bugs EVERYWHERE. On walls, ceiling, floor they kept coming in.

property was fine just needs to be cleaned and kept up. Walk out of the elevator to see a short wall partially painted with paint slopped on all the trim was not a good first look of the floor. Room needed to be cleaned better the toilet was dirty Kleenex box was empty. There Was a wade of hair in my bed. Cat rummaging threw breakfast area and on the counters of admittance all furniture down there on admittance was gross. The breakfast was good had great choices and it was hot.

Upon driving to the hotel, I was excited it was within 5 minutes of where I had meetings. When i walked into the hotel, typical set up. I get to the room, and it was infested with those lady bug beetles. I was killing them everywhere! Walls, ceiling, floor, bed. I went to tell the person at the desk and they didnt seem surprised and said they would notify maintenance the next day. She asked my room number, but did not write anything down or note anything in the computer. She said they were booked and could not switch my room. It was one night, things happen. I left for dinner and came back. There were more! Killed those, showered, and was ready to crawl in bed. The pillows smelled like a sweaty hunter, there was hair in the sheets when i pulled them back, and the headboard had spiderwebs and dust that was more than a day old. It was dirty. I didnt sleep and had an 8 hour drive the next day. I was going to make a cup of coffee in the room, but the kurig looked like it hadnt been cleaned or sanitized since covid. Breakfast was store bought muffins and honey buns or tasteless bacon and eggs. The waffle maker was all they had going. I love animals, but there was a black cat cleaning itself on the couch in the lobby, of which i am allergic. No, i didnt get close, but i dodnthink it was unprofessional. For $160, i expected better. This was a Motel 6 with a Wyndam logo. Very disappointed. Will go elsewhere next time.

The bed was not clean. The sheets were just pulled up from the previous stay. There were live centipedes on the floor and dead pill bugs scattered around on the floor. The room smelled like Mold and the AC smelled like it was burning something when I turned it on. I went back to the front desk requested a refund and left 5 minutes after checking in. This was my worst experience traveling in over 30 yrs of business travel.

The staff is super friendly, the rooms are very clean, it’s nice and quiet, and the location is perfect.

Lady bugs were on the ceiling in the room which are better than most bugs but are still bugs. The tub also had some hair in it

The cable didn’t work so we had nothing to do. Pillows sucked. There was no actual curtains to block the Sun. Will not stay here again.

I switched hotels from super cheap to a bit more expensive. The bed was soft and comfortable. Other than a staff member walking into my room unannounced (no explanation) my stay was fine. Acceptable breakfast.

The room wss clean. However the heater was so loud I had to turn it off. The hotel would be great for workers on the road, but unacceptable for a casual traveler.

The good: the bed was really comfortable. They have a friendly hotel cat. The staff was nice and accommodating. The bad: Our room's heater was so loud.We couldn't keep it on during the night. Their computer system is disorganized.And they first assigned us to a room with someone in it. There were moth holes in the blackout curtains.The breakfast was average.

I was checked into a long/suite, but once in my room realized that while there was a desk/work space, there was no chair. Also, the tv remote did not work. Went back to front desk and the attendant simply changed me to a different room, so I had to go back upstairs and relocate my belongings. Once in the new room, I discovered the tv remote here didn’t work well either. It worked well enough, when aimed just right, that I decided to just keep it. When it was time to shower, the shower curtain was not fitted very well and was difficult to keep water from making mess on bathroom floor. Also , I was there for 3 nights and had to go back to office each day to get key- cards recoded… it had lost the code each day. Overall , this stay was a little disappointing.

My room had a very loud heating and Air-conditioning unit.

The front desk staff was not very personable, had to call and find out the wifi password. The tv would not work, the person at the desk came up and tried to fix it but couldn’t. I was told that the maintenance person would have to fix it in the morning. They had it working when we got back that evening. The next morning it would not work again. Door key quit working after the first night. There was 2 tissues in the box and no spare box in the room. When I told the front desk about the TV not working again she just said thanks for letting us know. So I asked about a discount I was told the manager would call me. No phone call and no discount! I don't usually have any issues with hotels but this was not worth the money I spent.

They double charged me, cold air wasn’t working and it was 75 in the room. Bathroom was dirty and staff didn’t do anything about it. I tried to report this but didn’t get taken care of. Hope the head person sees this comment.

The room was clean and the front area had a cat, which was adorable (the front area was also clean). My biggest qualm with my stay was Sharon (? Pretty sure that was her name) at the front desk. She was incredibly unfriendly. I was not greeted, she ignored me when I came to the front desk, when I wanted to check in early she was rude, and she had an attitude after that. There is a $25 fee for checking in early, which is something I haven’t encountered in any hotels I’ve stayed at. It’s clean and the bed is comfortable, that’s pretty much all this hotel has going for it.

I was given a room that could not have been opened or cleaned in days. It was taken over by Asian beetles and cockroaches. When I went to the front desk to let her know, she tried to dismiss me until I wouldn’t leave the desk…then she finally offered to move me. Myself and my family have stayed at the hotel more than a dozen times. This was such a terrible experience. We will never stay here again.

Was a smooth easy checkin and I had a few special requests and they fulfilled them all without hesitation so I'd definitely stay here again.

Extremely clean and well-maintained facility, with friendly and helpful staff. The rooms must be well-soundproofed, because I didn't hear much at all and slept great. Really good experience all around.

Enjoyed the stay and would book again. Very quiet and clean room. Convenient meal options nearby. Pleasant staff.

My stay was very good. No traffic noise. Staff helpful. Check-in was easy. Parking satisfactory. I had no complaints.

The breakfast is still very bad. Not a fan of the cat that lives in the lobby and on the luggage carts

We stayed overnight one night after a Truman State football game on 09/16/23. The room was very nice and very clean & comfortable. The breakfast the next morning was not so good. No juice machine…few selections…a very small, congested area!

The breakfast our first night was not good at all. They were out of most of the food and coffee. The second day was better, but they weren't ready to handle the crowd on Saturday morning.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and the hotel kitty was resting on the couch waiting for tummy scratches. I felt right at home. Breakfast was good. Sausage, eggs, biscuits & gravy.

Horrible stay. We reserved a room for 3 nights and our room wasn’t serviced even once! They keep promising it would happen the next day. Never did. I couldn’t even get fresh towels brought to my room-I had to go to the front desk to pick them up. There was an armchair and ottoman in the room with gross stains on it. I’d rather not have a chair than have to look at that. The Keurig in the room spat out room temp coffee, broken heating element. No tub stopper to be able to take a bath. Breakfast-rubber eggs that were room temperature every day. When I asked for a microwave to heat them I was pointed to a cabinet door and told “ I don’t know if it works though”. Worst stay ever, worst management ever. Staff made no attempts to make anything better-they must be anticipating this place will go out of business.

This hotel was picked because it had a pool. The pool was closed due to broken heater. The lobby smelled like mold. The breakfast one of the milk was soured. Had to go to the desk for bath towels. I had to clean the toilet seat off dirty. The staff was great.
