The most convenient place for an Owl family! Park behind the Inn (for $20), right next to the Campus police station. Walk into Saxby's coffee without walking outside! It's a small Inn but our room was spacious. Our only issue was that the heat was on high when we checked in, and the windows are sealed shut so even though we turned the heat off, it stayed really warm. Next time I'll ask for heat to be off on the day we check in. But we'll stay again!

Stayed for a concert at the theater around the corner. It was extremely convenient to be that close. The room was fine with a view of the campus. Places to eat and a convenience store nearby made up for no ice available that night.

Great location to be able to walk back and forth to a sports tournament at the Temple STAR building. About a five minute walk from the hotel. Parking was a little tricky to find but adequate. No fridge in the hotel room.

Clean room with a friendly staff. Finding the hotel is difficult because it is on Temple University's campus. The entrance is very obscure. I had to call the front desk to find the entrance. GPS is absolutely no help. However, once you are in, the place is very nice. The only issue was that the tub in room 310 is starting to rust. A relatively minor detail. Overall, the place is beautiful, clean, and secure, and I will definitely be back.

Excellent hotel. The room was perfect. Loved the availability of tea and coffee both in our room and in the lobby. Would return here and would recommend to others. If you have a Temple music student having a concert it is perfectly located for that.

Parking! Most important, on site parking! Clean and comfortable. Front desk staff always friendly. 711 next door. Offers the best views of Temple University. The Conwell is my go to spot when in Philly. Beds a bit too soft for me but the great shower makes up for that.

It is literally on the Temple U campus! It is right around the corner from the Inn. As small as it is it is located near a variety of restaurants to eat from. The bed is comfortable! The wallpaper should be updated in the bathroom but it was clean and it had no signs of being worn out/abused (holes).No mini fridge in the room or microwave. They have the fridge available for an extra fee of $10?! they ice machine, it is in the basement.Parking is $21.60 (taxes) per night but you can come and go as you please you just need to have the placard for your mirror when parked. 24 hour 7 eleven in walking distance if you need something to drink or snack on!

This hotel is very convenient for visiting Temple, it’s right on the campus! However, it is badly in need of an update. The carpets have seen better days and the whole place just needs a refresh. Love the free coffee that’s out all the time.

Although Temple is gorgeous, the students at night made for the stay on campus very noisy. The surrounding area does not inspire a sense of safety and does not offer dining choices nearby. The property needs a makeover inside to help with the wear and tear and cleanliness.

It was a pleasure to stay there. The staff are terrific. It was a little hard to locate where the Inn is situated, yet once I found it all was well. The room was very clean. The bathroom was clean yet it was showing signs of wear. I would not hesitate to stay there again.

The check-in was the only positive. Room was in much need of an upgrade and was overall not clean. I Had to clean the tv remote B/c it was sticky dirty. I found a hair between the top sheet and the fitted sheet. Yuck. Upon checkout, the desk clerk couldn’t even stop talking to a coworker to say goodbye. After I put my card keys on the counter and turned to walk away, I went back to put the cardkey below the counter so no one would take them and re enter my room, then the staff person said “I see them”. No good bye or inquiry about my stay. It was almost like a Hostile.

The hotel was very cute, tucked away on Temple's campus. The staff was very friendly but not knowledgeable at all about the train situation and gave me incorrect info on getting to the airport. No big deal, I managed to get to my destination. The biggest issue was the carpet was old, filthy and very smelly throughout the hall and room. The walls were also paper thin so it was pretty noisy from inside and outside the building.

We loved our stay at the Conwell. We came to Philadelphia to see a show at The Met, and it was an easy walk to the venue. The staff was helpful and friendly. The only issue was when we woke up, there was no hot water, and we had to leave without a shower. We were not given a reason for the lack of hot water, just that the manager was notified.

The last time we stayed here, everything was wonderful. I know this is a nice place. However, the room we stayed in this time was so small, we couldn’t even fit a cot. We were walking all over each other. The worst part was that the AC wasn’t working. We had our Shih Tzus with us, which cost an extra $80 a night, and they couldn’t stop panting. We called at 3 am the first night because we couldn’t sleep & the problem was never resolved.

Convenient of you’re visiting Temple University. The inn is nothing special but the staff is great. The young men and women who work there are helpful and friendly. The inn is directly on campus so nights can be loud. My only complaint is that the AC was not working and the room was stifling hot. We didn’t notice until late so did not bother to call for maintenance in the middle of the night, our fault. I’ve stayed at the Conwell many times and have found it just fine.

We found this an affordable and convenient location for our recent convention in Philadelphia. The price was fantastic, and the staff was helpful. It's a straight shot to the convention center. The parking is super cheap, but open air (not garaged), however there's a police station attached to the inn so we weren't too worried. Amenities are simple, but reflect the pricing. It was clean and quiet. However, note: * The beds are laughably soft. Like, sink into them when you sit in the edge and roll to the middle. My husband ended up in pain over this. * There is no bathroom vanity, only a vintage style pedestal sink in the room we had. No flat surfaces. Nowhere to rest makeup or toiletries at all. No shelves. This could be such an easy and cheap fix (install a couple small shelves.) * The parking is behind the building and it's not readily apparent how which building is the Inn since you're coming at it from a different direction and the building are close. We wandered in the freezing cold before finding the right way. On our way out another guest stopped me and asked how to find the Inn because he took was confused. A simple sign with an arrow and a sentence to guide guests would be so helpful. Knowing all this, we will definitely book again for next year's convention.

But the air conditioning does not work, the tubs don't drain very well (meaning: you're showering in a pool of dirty water), and there are essentially no amenities whatsoever (no fitness center, in-room fridge, safe, or even a phone to call for help). If you can, bring a fan to compensate for the lack of A/C. The location is terrific and the hotel is overall clean and trustworthy. But it's long overdue for a basic renovation (rooms likely date to the 70s/80s). If you have difficulty sleeping when the room is too warm, this may not be the place for you. It's far from food (save for the campus pub & 7/11). But you don't have to be afraid of your surroundings and the campus is gorgeous.

This place was fine. Not many bad points really. The few things that need improvement. 1. Parking. There are not enough spaces, but the hotel is in an area that they cannot do.much about. 2. No refrigerator. There are no fridges in the rooms automatically. Though, I THINK you can rent one for $10 a day. This is not really made clear. 3. TV. Seriously, the TVs are not great. It has cable (who watches live TV anymore), but there is not ability to stream anything or cast from your phone. Its kinda lame for 2024. 4. Bed. The bed was soft and comfortable. However, ours sank in the middle and both of us, on our respective sides, felt like we were sliding or rolling into the middle. Its like for ne beds, guys. 5. Soap. A truly minor complaint, but the bar soap they provide is about the most drying, non industrial soap Ive ever used. It was kinda awful. Bring your own.

The hotel was very cute, tucked away on Temple's campus. The staff was very friendly but not knowledgeable at all about the train situation and gave me incorrect info on getting to the airport. No big deal, I managed to get to my destination. The biggest issue was the carpet was old, filthy and very smelly throughout the hall and room. The walls were also paper thin so it was pretty noisy from inside and outside the building.

Very well-located, even if you don't have business at Temple University (it is on the grounds). Short walk to Broad Street (Orange) line, which gets you to downtown quickly; also a short walk from AIR train line. Dining options surrounding it were fine, but geared towards students. Inn is an older building, but well-maintained. There is a student run cafe inside which has solid muffin, smoothie & coffee options. The rooms are on the old side, and the bed was quite soft (too soft) but it was clean. The bathroom is small, which is OK, but the sink has no place to put your shaver, toothbrush or anything else -- and it all tilts towards the drain; need to add a small thin shelf to the wall. Overall, if you find a reasonable price, like I did (about $70 cheaper than downtown), I would definitely stay here again.

The staff was excellent. Mia was at the front desk when we checked in - friendly and very knowledgeable about the Temple campus. She was very helpful in arranging an extra bed in the room, going out of her way to confirm when it was convenient to us for her to be in the room and setting up the bed by herself. The only reason for less than 5 stars is that the queen bed was extremely soft, so soft that management should consider replacing the mattress.

Clean room with a friendly staff. Finding the hotel is difficult because it is on Temple University's campus. The entrance is very obscure. I had to call the front desk to find the entrance. GPS is absolutely no help. However, once you are in, the place is very nice. The only issue was that the tub in room 310 is starting to rust. A relatively minor detail. Overall, the place is beautiful, clean, and secure, and I will definitely be back.

The Conwell Inn is a little gem located on the Temple University campus. It is neat, clean staffed with friendly, professional help some of whom are Temple university students. It is safe and clean and on-site parking is a bonus. The Conwell Inn is my go to whenever visiting my college daughter.

The check-in was the only positive. Room was in much need of an upgrade and was overall not clean. I Had to clean the tv remote B/c it was sticky dirty. I found a hair between the top sheet and the fitted sheet. Yuck. Upon checkout, the desk clerk couldn’t even stop talking to a coworker to say goodbye. After I put my card keys on the counter and turned to walk away, I went back to put the cardkey below the counter so no one would take them and re enter my room, then the staff person said “I see them”. No good bye or inquiry about my stay. It was almost like a Hostile.

The inn is my go to place when in Philly. No whistles or bells just clean and comfortable. The desk staff and housekeeper are fun, efficient and friendly. Hats off to tori and Juanita for knowing how to engage their clients and have fun.

Lovely little inn on Temple University’s campus. Room was gorgeous and large. I had a great view of a walkable plaza. Staff was wonderful. I felt safe as a solo woman there.

Although Temple is gorgeous, the students at night made for the stay on campus very noisy. The surrounding area does not inspire a sense of safety and does not offer dining choices nearby. The property needs a makeover inside to help with the wear and tear and cleanliness.

Stayed for a concert at the theater around the corner. It was extremely convenient to be that close. The room was fine with a view of the campus. Places to eat and a convenience store nearby made up for no ice available that night.

My son and I stayed here when we saw Metallica at Lincoln Financial. A couple blocks walk to metro, excellent pizza joint nearby. The hotel itself was clean and snug. Definitely a good quiet place to stay.

It’s hard to find. The Uber was unable to find the place and ended up dropping me off near the parking area. Then, I had to walk around to find the place. Additionally, feeling unsafe walking around that area, which was quite far away from the center. There were no restaurant nearby, just 7/11 next door. However, the place was very clean, and the bed was comfortable enough to fall asleep.

The staff was great. Our room was basic but very clean and the window opened (thank heavens because the place is way over heated). Very convenient to visit my daughter at Temple and the Temple campus is lovely. Lots of fast food nearby and student-y places but no nicer restaurants for dinner. Convenient subway to center city, though. I liked Conwell Inn and will stay there again.

The property was very nice, the staff was kind and helpful. The Bathrooms need some fixing. Unfortunately they do Not have a refrigerator. They did offer parking. Next door had a cute coffee shop and a 7 eleven There are plenty of food places to select from. Its a great location if you have a student going to Temple University. We felt super safe. We'd Definitely Stay there again.

Excellent hotel. The room was perfect. Loved the availability of tea and coffee both in our room and in the lobby. Would return here and would recommend to others. If you have a Temple music student having a concert it is perfectly located for that.

It's a great place and you cannot beat the location if you're visiting Temple. The room was very clean and spacious with no strong cleaner smells, etc. A fridge would have been nice, but we could have requested one, which I didn't know until after. My only complaint--many folks are serious about their coffee. Crappy powdered creamer should not be a thing in a decent hotel. If you're going to provide coffee in the room (as you should!), give the little cups of real half-n-half.

Parking! Most important, on site parking! Clean and comfortable. Front desk staff always friendly. 711 next door. Offers the best views of Temple University. The Conwell is my go to spot when in Philly. Beds a bit too soft for me but the great shower makes up for that.

This was my 2nd time staying here. Very nice, clean room in a really cool historic building. You have to explain to ride share drivers to drop you off behind the building and then you walk around the corner to the entrance. Being next door to campus police helped me feel safe arriving late at night. The 2 rooms I have stayed in both have plenty of space to include a mini fridge and microwave - I really missed not having these basic amenities. The bed is way too soft with decorative pillows that are visibly fraying. The helpful staff and the convenient location make it a fair trade off. However I would willingly pay more per night (say $25? $50?) to have a fridge, microwave, and more supportive bed. Overall I recommend, but just be ready for the bed to swallow you!

Attentive, professional and polite staff, easy check-in. Rooms need an update. Lighting in bathroom is minimal, very small, no storage on/near sink, no full length mirror. Old hotel "smell". Carpeting needs replaced throughout. Signage and communication regarding policies were clear and appreciated. We utilized the parking which was very convenient.

This hotel is in a great location on the Temple campus. That’s the extent of the positives. This hotel needs to be gutted and renovated. From peeling wallpaper and paint to faded carpet to dilapidated bathrooms. The staff were friendly. The prices were also competitive but it’s important to understand there is a reason behind the pricing.
