This was our second trip at this location. We came back because we like Lake O’ Pines and this house and location. It is right on lake with a fishing pier and beautiful view. The shore line is clean for easy fishing also. The older kids enjoyed the kayaks. The house was nice with plenty of beds, clean, and very well stocked with extra blankets, pillows, and towels. . The owners had the house well equipped with supplies and kitchen utensils. There was plenty of parking area. Thank you Donna and Paul.

They have inner tubes and kayaks available and a lovely dock for fishing or just laying out. The owners are right next door if you needed anything which we did not, but still nice to know they were close by. It was really hot while we were there and the house stayed really cool. Would definitely rebook.

This has become an annual trip for us. We love the cabin. Everything is labeled for ease of finding things, cabin is clean, and the bed is so comfortable. We fish on the dock, there are kayaks available, watch the birds, we enjoy the deer that visit, and the view is amazing! Just left but can’t wait to rent this place again!

It was a great stay. Owners were reachable at all times. Home was clean. Beds and towels dodnt have any hair left behind and i love that. They had coffee, boats, kayaks boat dock and canoes all complimentary that was amazing. The home is much bigger in person than on pictures i love that. It was truly a great stay and If it wasnt for the rain. It would have been even better. You definitely wont regret booking this property.

Our stay with 3 adults and a small dog was very comfortable. Cabin is well maintained and equipped. Beautiful views complete with deer sharing the property. Very quiet location. Gracious on-site hosts. Two upstairs bedrooms require navigation of steep steps. Otherwise very accessible to anyone. Would love to come again.

We had a great weekend here. House/property was just as listed on VRBO. House was very clean, cold AC and comfy beds. Views of lake are outstanding. Saw so many deer. Owner was extremely friendly and willing to help in any way possible. Only 30 min short (beautiful) drive from Jefferson for shopping. Highly recomme d this property.

This home is located close to multiple locations. Caddo Lake State Park, 30 minutes. Jefferson, 20ish. Shreveport LA, an hour. It was very well laid out with labels letting you know what was where. The owner lives on site but the homes are a good distance away from each other. It has two entrances, one on the side of the home with a cute little seating area facing a nice wooded area which gives you extra privacy. The other is off the back patio. Short walk to a nice little dock area on the water with a bench to sit on. The bed was decent (firm) and there was extra linen and pillows provided. The staircase to the upper bedrooms was steep and the living room has a door you can close off from the kitchen and master bedroom if you are having older individuals stay with you who are not as comfortable going up steep stairs. There is a futon in the living area. Overall we had a great stay. Just make sure to give yourself time between showers for each individual because the water does get cold pretty quickly but the pressure was good. There is also a little apartment you can rent behind the home if you need more space! Beautiful Home and a great stay.

Best location & personal amenities! This house is so comfy with plenty of room to cook, eat & sleep. We enjoyed indoor & outdoor cooking. Breakfast in the kitchen while we used the grill for dinner to cook up some chicken & even some small catfish we caught right from the dock. I tried kayaking & paddle boating for the 1st time ever. I was very happy they had plenty of life jackets for us all. Kayaking (not as hard as I expected) was so relaxing on this calm lake. Paddle boating wore me out, especially since I was nearly too short to reach the peddles & had to adjust by getting lower. I highly suggest you use another life jacket as a backrest to possibly avoid a sore back for the next few days, lol. We enjoyed having s’mores around the fire pit at night. Every morning we had coffee on the back porch & enjoyed the beautiful & peaceful scenery. Maybe some trees along the bank could be trimmed in order to see more of the lake & sunset. I only gave it 4 stars due to the challenging stairs to get to the bedrooms above. The were steep but manageable so I went up there only once to see what it looked like. No issues for young folks though. This place actually saves you a lot of money by providing the personal dock & all the watercraft choices. Thank you for providing us a place we made some great memories!!

Absolutely great place to enjoy the peace and serenity of a lakefront retreat. Hugely spacious A-frame house with kitchen and baths that contribute to your comfort. Hosts, Donna & Paul, offered friendly waves & hellos, there if you need them, leave you to yourself if you choose. We stayed with our 12-year old standard poodle (we adopted him five years ago) and he and we enjoyed the large property and the wonderful deer passing through. Great place, highly recommended. Amanda & Charity at Bullfrog Marina were also kind and great.

6 of us Stayed on this great lake house. We were in the area putting up deer stands and feeders. Was great to come back after a hard days work to the A Frame! The place had great beds, and everything was well outfitted.

The view from this lake house is AMAZING! You get the sunset every day! We also saw deer, a beaver, and an eagle! The cabin was well set up: labeled cabinets and drawers, two types of grills, plenty of towels & blankets, and some spices. We also liked the extra shelves set in most rooms to help stash our stuff.

The sunset view over the lake is a big selling point for this cottage. But then you have the beautiful stars at night that are hidden in the big city. I highly recommend this property if you are looking for something off the beaten path where the wildlife is less alusive than the humans. The cottage was comfortable for the 3 of us and very clean. The amenities as listed were there although we didn't take advantage of the water craft. The host made every effort to make sure our stay was enjoyable. I would love to come back in the summer when the weather is warmer and take the kayaks out.

This is our Second summer of having our grandma camp out here. Although there were problems which were beyond the ability of the owners because of the heavy rains and high water, they worked very well with us and getting everything situated. My grandkids love this place. And I talked about getting someplace bigger because the kids are getting bigger, they said don’t worry about us. Grandma will gladly stay here. They love this place and don’t want to change it. The owners are very kind and considerate. I’m semi Handicapped and they let us use their golf cart to get down to the lake. That wasn’t even in the add. Thank you so much for the great time. The kids had so much fun fishing and swimming.

Overall it was awesome place very nice and clean and peaceful, there was nothing that we didn’t need bc the house was fully stocked with even charcoal!!! I know in the description it says that the renters leave right beside you but they never bothered us and when we were in need of even worms to fish with they had us covered

The property was as listed. We had plenty of room for our group of 8 adults. We had everything we needed for a great stay. The hosts were friendly and super helpful. They live on the property. They observed my dad using his walker to get to the dock and provided a solution without us even asking. We had some great family time in the house and on the lake.

This home is located close to multiple locations. Caddo Lake State Park, 30 minutes. Jefferson, 20ish. Shreveport LA, an hour. It was very well laid out with labels letting you know what was where. The owner lives on site but the homes are a good distance away from each other. It has two entrances, one on the side of the home with a cute little seating area facing a nice wooded area which gives you extra privacy. The other is off the back patio. Short walk to a nice little dock area on the water with a bench to sit on. The bed was decent (firm) and there was extra linen and pillows provided. The staircase to the upper bedrooms was steep and the living room has a door you can close off from the kitchen and master bedroom if you are having older individuals stay with you who are not as comfortable going up steep stairs. There is a futon in the living area. Overall we had a great stay. Just make sure to give yourself time between showers for each individual because the water does get cold pretty quickly but the pressure was good. There is also a little apartment you can rent behind the home if you need more space! Beautiful Home and a great stay.

This was our third visit to Acorn Timbers and we hope to make it an annual trip. The cabin is perfect, we just bring our fishing gear and our food. We fish from the dock, enjoy the views, watch the birds and deer. Perfect place for relaxation. We took a day trip to see Caddo State Park and a little gambling and seafood in Shreveport. Hosts are great. Can’t wait for our next visit.

The property was in a great location, quiet and out of the way, which made it perfect. I loved the way everything was labeled and easy to find. The hosts have put alot of energy into making things nice!

What a great experience! I brought my son to meet family that lives in Hughes Springs. We used the kayaks, the paddle boat, and swam a ton. We brought a trailer with 4-wheelers and dirt bikes so that we could ride on family land. When I left, the pin that held my trailer hitch to the truck broke and the host helped me fix my trailer. What a relief! I would have been stuck for a while if it weren't for him. My trailer was literally in the middle of the street and it would have blocked the entire road for at least an hour. The host acted like it was just another Tuesday. Blessed to have such great hosts. I would recommend this location to anyone looking to have a relaxing weekend.

Very well cared for older cabin, all the necessities for comfort are there to cook, clean up, etc., even dog toys too. There is no TV in the largest prime bedroom but it is on the 1st floor. There is a shared dock to use but to get to the waterfront, or shoreline is not easy for those that may have balance and/or walking issues. We enjoyed tons of fireflies at dusk from the deck along with an eagle, osprey, cardinals, a friendly geko, and pretty lake sunsets too. The hosts were very caring and friendly.
