Fast and friendly check in. The rooms are clean and comfortable. An older hotel but seems to be kept up. Breakfast is just muffins and coffee is around the clock. Cameras everywhere which made me feel safe. The only downfall was the pool not being available.

I came to the area to help rebuild after the hurricane damaged homes there. The hotel was close to where we were working and it was quiet. The price to stay a week was fair and the room was clean. That was all I needed while working. The swimming pool was empty but I was not there to swim and didn't care about that. It was just a place to sleep and the bed was comfortable and quiet was all I needed. I will be returning there in the fall to volunteer and plan on staying at the same hotel.

The room was in need of a very good makeover. The sink had crud under the rim that I had to clean off before we could use it. No microwave. No coffee pot - although coffee was available in the office. Had to request a hair dryer from the office. The WiFi was almost non-existent. WiFi kept dropping out only 1 bar on the WiFi fan - most content failed to load and kept buffering. One of the hotel cleaning staff was staying in the room next door - talked very loud even after 10:00 pm. Don't believe the Breakfast available part - processed muffins and Hostess danish - that's it. Nothing else. Room A/C struggled to maintain a cool temp, room tended to be a little stuffy. Hotel staff was helpful and friendly. Pet friendly hotel - our room did not smell.

The man working the front desk late was so kind and courteous, he made a bad evening better for sure! The room was clean, the bed was comfy, and it was nice to have a fridge & a microwave in the room!

I have never left a review of a hotel but feel this had to be said. The room was filthy, there were pnats in the sink, the carpet was wet (like soaked) from I am not sure what when I walked barefoot by the bed and there looked to be blood on the curtains and there were cobwebs. There were also crumbs all over and fake nails (used) left on the ground. The beds looked clean enough but honestly we didn’t even get under the covers. We slept with the lights on for fear of bugs. We were booked for 2 nights but only stayed one. No refund could be made but I didn’t care, we went to another hotel. I will never stay here again, unfortunately. Honestly I wasn’t expecting a 5 star hotel but I did expect it to be clean and it was far from it. I think the photos shown online are very misleading.

Room was very clean, no oder, water was actually hot and NOT luke warm. Beds were comfortable. Location was nice, not a noisy traffic area. Property grounds were very clean. I would recommend staying here.

Staff was very friendly and professional. Room was musty smelling soon as I walked in. I did not bother staff about it. I was tired and ready to sleep. I sprayed some deodorizing spray and it helped a little.In the morning I saw a medium size roach crawling in front of the tv. Great quiet safe location for the price .

The bed was comfortable enough and the shower was hot but sleeping was impossible with the fridge making random loud sounds and a spotlight outside our room that lit up the room like daytime all night. Even a pillow over my head did not block out the light. If you can sleep with the lights on you are fine lol.

Hole in bathroom wall, spot painting on walls, no table or chairs although a light for them. The place was noisy all night and the black out shades let in so much light, the whole room was illuminated all night. When I asked the front counter for a receipt at checkout, request was declined and stated since I booked with a third party site, they could give me the receipt. A very high rate for a terrible hotel.

There was some sort of VERY BRIGHT and VERY WHITE LED light outside our window which made it look like it was daytime coming around the darkening curtain edges the entire evening. Noon and midnight looked the same with the curtains closed. All of the interior lights in the room were also those very WHITE lights. Terrible ambience. Who is their interior designer? Very convenient to Black Mountain historic area.

First they lost my reservation. First time this has ever happened using Hotels.com in 10 years. Then the room they finally put us in stunk horribly. We gagged. And the sketchy people hanging around added to a bad vibe. We left. On a good note. The guy at the desk was decent.

First of all, this is not a bad place to stay. The room was clean, bed comfortable. Keep in mind, it's a budget motel at a budget price, so don't expect some of the luxuries you might get elsewhere, but you will get a good night sleep. Our issue was that when we checked in, we were advised that there was work being done on the power lines, and the power would be out from Midnight to 3 AM. Inconvienent, but not too bad for a few hours while we were asleep. Well the outage was actually from 11 PM to 7:30 AM. I went back to the office, and they stated that they were told midnight to 3 AM, and they had it posted. We contacted Duke Energy and found out that the hotel was told 11 PM to 7 AM. We asked the desk clerk again, and he just pointed to the note that they had typed up and posted. Basically the hotel lied about the length of time of the failure so that they would not lose customers. This makes me realize that the hotel owners are not trustworthy. If they lie about that, what other lie will they tell you? By the way, when we went to leave, there was still no power, so no breakfast, coffee or juice. Don't trust them!!!!

We have always stayed there. Since maybe 2009, and my parents before that... Have stayed twice this year already. Pets rooms are not carpeted and get super clean and are set away from the non pet. Great family staff.

This is a wonderful and convenient place to stay. One can easily walk into the heart of Black Mountain. I have stayed here many times.

This location was surrounded by mountains and very quiet. It was in the middle of the activities we wanted to do on our mini vacation. Everyone was very nice.

It was functional, but nothing to write home about. The advertised continental breakfast consisted of a cellophane pack pastry off a shelf in the lobby and coffee or juice in a paper cup. The immediate context was positive. A small creek on the edge of the property hosts a funky and very tasty good value Mexican restaurant. We ate there more than once. Location was perfect for whatwe were doing.

Beautiful mountain scenery behind the property. The only slight negative was no cereal with milk and orange juice available. All they serve is a store bought muffin.Considering the prime mountain location it's a good value overall

no regular housecleaning service. Had to go to office for more towels,tp,etc. No coffeemaker in room. 24 hour coffee in lobby. Breakfast was honeybuns and muffins from grocery store.

Convenient location to downtown Black Mountain. It is an old motel so entrances to the rooms are outdoor. The room key was modern, as I almost expected them to be old style. Ice machine in main building was out of order, but I found this to be the case in even much nicer hotels these days. Bed was comfortable. I had the curtains closed but as I was sitting in the bed I saw the housekeeper was still able to look into the room through the gap between the curtains and the window; she was able to get direct view of the mirror that allowed her to see me sitting up on the bed, so she then knew to wait on making up the room. I kinda wish I had given her more of a show. Internet is slow and about half the TV channels were Spanish. The complementary breakfast was essentially vending machine pastry, so I just had the coffee, which was fine. You get what you pay for folks, and this was an inexpensive room for the night, so don't expect much.

The king size bed was amazing and comfortable. The hot water was a major plus too! We got locked out of our room and they helped us immediately get back in.

Staff were super friendly and accomodating. The room was clean. Love love love the soap and shampoo in the bathroom, they were super cute, smelled nice, and very hydrating. Beds were super comfy. My TV was in Spanish but I soon figured out how to change it to English lol. Lots of parking so we could park super close to our door. There are a few vending machines outside however they are cash only!!! It does say online pool amenities, we did enquire with reception as we were unsure but they don't have a pool! However they do have some super cool fire pits you can use outside, and some adorable swing seats and a general seating area outside. There was also a vending machine with snacks and supplies in the lobby too. There's a Mexican restaurant you can walk to right outside! And the downtown area is super close. Gas station is a little further out but not too far.

We enjoyed our stay here. Although it’s an inexpensive older motel, much has been updated, such as the flooring. The beds and pillows were very comfortable, and everything was quite clean. We had a comfortable chair in our room, as well as a comfortable office chair at the desk We contacted the front desk, both for check-in and when something came up later, they were very polite, friendly and accommodating We travel with our dogs, so they put us in a room with hard surface floors down near the end of that wing. That made it much more convenient for us. They provide a simple grab and go breakfast. That consist of things like an assortment of prepackaged muffins (Chocolate Chip, Blueberry, etc) as well as hot water & teabags, and hot coffee. There are also other Breakfast choices like McDonalds in the area. Also great choices for other meals such as Craft Brewery, Bistro, great Mexican restaurant all close by. Next time we’re in the area, we will definitely stay there again.
