We absolutely loved this hotel, when visiting our UNC student. It’s right across campus, has great parking, courteous & helpful staff, is very clean & decorated beautifully. We really enjoyed it and will be sure to return again & again!

Solid property in the heart of Chapel Hill. This was a family trip with teenagers and 2 nights / days was enough to explore. Hotel has an excellent restaurant onsite too.

General lack of customer service, inconsistent communication between the restaurant staff and hotel. We booked for Easter weekend and were not informed of brunch, when we found out about it and enquired we were told that it was fully committed. Upon check in I asked if we would be able to have brunch as hotel guests and was told to go talk to the restaurant. The restaurant gave us a vague answer that they would try to accommodate us. We came at 10am and asked for a table, they had no issue seating us and the restaurant was mostly empty until we left. Didn’t provide water or housekeeping services without being asked. Lack of amenities on property.

The Carolina Inn is the perfect place to stay in Chapel Hill! Beautifully updated but still full of historic charm. Great on site restaurant and also a grab and go coffee area. The location is ideal… convenient to town and university but tucked away on a quiet street. We also received impeccable service from front desk, house keeping and valet.

The Carolina Inn is a very attractive hotel--beautiful architecture and lovely interior design. From the bellman to the servers in the restaurant--all staff are courteous, knowledgeable and professional. Our room was very clean, spacious and comfortable--the mattresses, pillows and sheets and bedding were superior.

Room phone did not work all week. I could not reach the front desk or concierge. Wake up did not work and almost missed the plane. Sent engineer dept twice and did not work. I travelled alone and very uncomfortable. Admin. said it is o k if I write a poor review since it would not affect them. Also, drawers had a terrible odor and I had to wash everything when I arrived home. A pretty place with uncaring mgt. So disappointed. I need to return and now have to find another place to stay.

We loved our stay at the Carolina Inn. The rooms were so comfortable, the beds superb, and the dining restaurant was delicious. Our waiter had great suggestions. The grounds are beautiful, and we loved the ability to walk to campus or Franklin Street. It’s a treat for our family to stay!

Beautiful property and amazing staff, but this hotel is in need of an upgrade. The pillows were worn out and the walls were super thin, could hear everything. The location and setting are amazing though, so still enjoyed my stay!

Everything was excellent at CI except when I arrived. I was struggling to get my bags out of the car at the entrance and the young male attendant just stood and watched. I am an older woman with hip problems. I finally made it out of the car with my bags with no assistance whatsoever and the attendant continued to stand there watching.

Overall a fantastic place to stay in historic Chapel Hill. The place is gorgeous and after a very long drive from Florida to New Jersey, we had a stop in NC. Glad we chose this place. The restaurant/ bar was very nice and the staff are very friendly. The only suggestion is that I’m not a coffee drinker, so only having a Nespresso in the room, without an option for hot water was a bit disappointing.

Great fun! Pleasing to the eyes in layout & decor. Staff lets you do your own thing. Friendly people including students on campus when we walked. Wanted to go thru Carolina Inn as we had a gift card. Expedia had rates listed per day for best rate while CI does not. Difficult to connect with CI phone attendant. Used gift card for the food. Thank you Expedia!

We loved our stay at the Carolina Inn. The rooms were so comfortable, the beds superb, and the dining restaurant was delicious. Our waiter had great suggestions. The grounds are beautiful, and we loved the ability to walk to campus or Franklin Street. It’s a treat for our family to stay!

The Carolina Inn is the perfect place to stay in Chapel Hill! Beautifully updated but still full of historic charm. Great on site restaurant and also a grab and go coffee area. The location is ideal… convenient to town and university but tucked away on a quiet street. We also received impeccable service from front desk, house keeping and valet.

Well maintained historical building with a nice onsite restaurant that has a nice wine list. Regular quality king bed with tons of pillows. Refrigerator, water, and Nespresso coffee in the room. Only negative was no microwave in the room to reheat my leftovers, but they do have one in the 1st floor near check-in. Centrally located on UNC - Chapel Hill campus.

Thought the restaurant had a strange policy and causeed me to out all other meals. Invited another couple to have dinner with us. The meal was good. When it was time to check out we both wanted to charge to our room. Was told the only way to bill separate was to put on a credit card. I know our new friends enjoyed their meal even more. A little odd for what it cost to stay here.
