A very quiet hotel while we were there with ample off street parking. All the indoor and photo murals were of the historic area and well done. Negatives for me: the bed had a sag in the middle, the bottom sheet did not stay on, very stiff and scratchy towels, and the dead bolt was almost impossible to close (took my husband throwing his shoulder into the door to do it).

I was locked out if my room because the batteries died in the lock. After multiple trips to the front desk i requested to escalate the situation. I was told maintenance does not works on wknds. My meds, clothes, etc was in the room an i needed to get inside. 5 people tried opening the door and it did not work. I was totally devastated a n d dissatisfied.

The hotels in a great location; otherwise it was standard for a hotel. Also standard for Hamptons, the fitted sheets are never pulled tight on the beds so fighting the corners all night. Sheets also had 3 rips in them so time to discard. This seems common for Hamptons. Also common is they never have any decent channels on the television for when you come in at night. Otherwise it’s standard hotel with good, fast check in service & average amenities. Edenton is a beautiful little town and hotel was convenient to everything we wanted to see so the location was its best point.

I would NOT recommend. It is definitely not an extension of the friendliness of the town of Edenton. Check in was awful. Could not get WiFi access so they made ME call the hotel tech support. This place is NOT a good reflection on the Hilton experience.

Your room filled up with gas from the outside fire pit! The staff was told to spray the room witch didn’t do a thing! We had to open the window and the door for over 3 hours. We still had to sleep with the window open all night. Good thing I caught it before we fell asleep because we may not have woken up the next day. When I checked out the next day I asked to speak to the manager but she was too busy and was told she would call me. I have called her back 3 times and still have not heard back!

The hotel is under construction. I felt that that management could have went further to warn potential guest of this fact. The gym was closed due to construction, and the gym is one of the reasons I stay in Hampton inns. The only notification I received was a notebook size paper taped to the outside of the elevator!? Additionally, my TV in the room did not work. House keeping worked on it for over an hour while I waited. She had no idea what to do. I finally asked for a different room but by then it was late and I was of course very disappointed and frustrated. I have asked for a discount or a refund as I felt that I had not received what I had paid for and the refund was flatly denied. I travel through Edenton often, but I doubt that I will be staying at this property again.

The only problem with our stay was the smell of the room. It is a pet friendly and we don't mind that but the rooms needs shampooing if they have carpet. Either that or keep a few rooms for people that don't request pet friendly. Room 203 . Otherwise good place.

The staff was great but they had no clue how to use the room TV a guide would be a great addition. Found I had no replacement towel paper in the middle of the night. The rooms are old but they try to keep them looking good but our bathroom had a lot of dark water stains in the shower and sink. I think if these things can be addressed it’s a good place to stay.

The property was just OK. Our room had a very strong smell of marijuana as soon as we entered our room. We immediately requested another room but the hotel was booked. In the morning we were going to use the microwave to heat up our breakfast and were met with an overwhelming smell of marijuana coming out of the microwave. I'm guessing this was where they kept their goods. I totally understand that this is not the hotels fault. However, when we told the housekeeper, her reply was "Oh yeah, we had issues with that room the other day" which makes me wonder, what did the hotel do to alleviate the problem from the very beginning? If there is an issue with someone smoking marijuana in a room, why wouldn't you do everything in you power to remove the smell?

Great service at front desk. The guy was very nice at front desk check in. Only thing that wasn’t to comfort was the bed. That bed was stiff/firm. Hopefully my next stay will be better.

It was a fine place to stay. The staff, check in and clean room were all positive aspects. The negative was the noise....it is definitely not insulated against sound issues. The a/c unit was extremely loud.

Our stay in the cute little town of Edenton was great. They were able to reserveva ground floor room which is great since we were traveking with our handicapped adult daughter who does not do well with stairs..This would be an issue if elevator was closed in emergency situation. Only negative was a loud heating system that went off about every 2 hours and sounded like a freight train for a few minutes.

Very short overnight stay for us. We've always used this Hampton Inn as our default hotel in area. It is not intended to be a luxury experience, but it's absolutely all you need. Quiet, safe, comfortable. Good enough for me.

Rooms were clean and bed was comfortable. It was loud and some other guest were bouncing between rooms till super late. Could hear doors slamming all around. The one smoking area had a loud person outside that I had to make a phone call to get the staff to take care of which they did soon after.

The hotel was clean the staff was overall very nice but the bed was terrible. My wife and I had the worst night of sleep we’d had in years. The bed was so uncomfortable and pillows were flat and neither of them offered any support. The main reason for the trip was an overnight trip to Edenton. We had a great experience in town and the hotel except for the bed. The staff, breakfast and cleanliness were all great.

My room smelled like a wet dog. Staff sprayed air freshener with no success. I asked for a new room and was told I could not be moved as the system could not move me as I booked on Expedia. Lots of rooms available - but the system wouldn’t do it. I am a long time Hilton Rewards member. I’m frustrated!

The room was small. I had reserved a room with two queen beds through Expeded but ended up in a room with a queen bed and a pull out. I requested a different room however, the manager on duty said they could not change it because it was through a third-party. They said their change button was grayed out. However, according to Expedia, the representative stated Hampton Inn could change my room. Hampton Inn refused.

@Hotels.com and @hampton from @hilton too horrible care of me. Didn't stay in the room and still charged. Just horrible customer service. @hotels.com is impossible to get in touch with. They hung up on a long text chain from customer service.

Very short overnight stay for us. We've always used this Hampton Inn as our default hotel in area. It is not intended to be a luxury experience, but it's absolutely all you need. Quiet, safe, comfortable. Good enough for me.

Everything was great except the morning coffee wasn’t always hot. Food was good, but not always available without a wait. Girls at the front desk were very friendly and accommodating. One even asked us if we wanted to have Thanksgiving dinner with her family.

The breakfast was awful some items were cold and no flavor. Not kept stocked so if you came down later no selection. The room was clean and stocked with clean towels.

The room was clean, and the front desk staff demonstrated excellent courtesy throughout my stay. However, I do have some feedback regarding the breakfast experience. The omelets, unfortunately, turned out to be overly dry, which was a disappointment. Moreover, there was a noticeable delay in replenishing the coffee, causing some inconvenience. Additionally, the strawberry waffle had an artificial taste, and it was the only available option for waffles, limiting variety. Regrettably, there was a significant wait of approximately half an hour for the coffee to be refilled. Consequently, I decided to explore other breakfast options and ended up visiting a nearby coffee shop instead.

I worked for this company for years and have stayed in Hamptons over the years. The front desk person was not friendly nor did she greet me. She appeaeed to be ingoring us when we walked in. When we called with a room change request she said she did not have any other rooms although she said she had 8 arrivals to go later. I would have made that change. We then noticed the dust ruffles on each bed was very unstreight. Next morning I noticed the bathroom tub was not clean, built up grime on the soap dish in the tub, base boards grimy , black skuffs on the bottom of the door, dry wall corners rusted, gooped on patch Jobs, hair on the commode, stains on the curtian that was put on inside out! When I let the front desk staff know she told me what I should have done to fix it. She was short and not friendly. She told me she would have changed my room if I had told her about the problems. When I reminded her that she told my husband there were no other rooms she said he did not ask her to change the room he only asked her if there were other rooms! I just shook my head. She kept reiterateing she would have been happy to change my room if I had of called down. I had told her that I had n noticedthe bathroom until I took my shower in the morni. She offered to tell the house keepers. Hmmmm She offered nothing but excuses. We have only once gotten a refund for all the years we have been traveling. Most things are fixable. After dealing with this lady I will be requesting a refund.
