There were only two elevators, one was out of order. So for each trip we had to spend a lot of time coming down from seventh floor and going back up. Especially when it is a weekend.

Older hotel, 2 elevator banks, only one worked most of the time. Better than average breakfast. Everything was clean, beds were comfortable but small. AC worked well. Great access to beach.

Loved the direct access to the beach, ocean front room with an open air balcony. Hot breakfast was a plus. Staff was excellent and pro-active addressing our needs. Had an issue with our commode and maintenance fixed it immediately. Easy driving distance to restaurants and attractions.

Beds are tiny. Free breakfast was adequate. Pool very tiny. One elevator for seven floors. Was told the 2nd elevator has been broken for more than a year. Many things around the property are patched or broken.

Yes the room was clean. I give special thanks to Pam Spruill to saw me looking for help in the hall way. I had a large spill of coffee. I wiped the area however needed a serious cleaning. She was so kind. Cleaned the area and there was no evidence of it.

While the property was located in a good location, the cleanliness of the property needs to be improved. When they say pet friendly I didnt realize they were providing the pets. Came into room and had a roach on the bed. Told the front desk and they said that exterminator was coming soon.

Well the hotel only had ome running elevator the other one was broken. The room was not clean the bath tub had sand in it and urine was still in the toliet. $200 for this place totally not worth the money.

My girlfriend and I planned to stay at this location for 3 nights. Upon checking into the room around 8 PM, we were overwhelmed by how bad the room smelled, we were expecting some odor from a pet-friendly room but not this bad. We opened the balcony door and hoped that the smell would go away over night. The next day we noticed that the smell was still there. Upon checking closely in afternoon, we noticed that one of the double beds we hadn't slept in, smelled almost like urine. We quickly ordered room service and made them change all the sheets. The cleaning lady did a good job but sprayed whatever cleaning agent they use all over the floor, leaving it wet for an hour. The pillows are all old, thin and lumpy, we asked for replacements but were only given 2. The bedsheets are paper thin and don't feel comfortable at all. We asked for an upgrade or a different room but were incorrectly told that they had no other options for pet-friendly rooms. Upon discovering the dirty beds, we requested a cancellation of 2 nights, but they only processed the next night's refund since we were 4 hours into the second day. The staff was helpful enough but I wish they would've made more of an effort to shift us to an another room or refund 2 nights. I am very disappointed in this stay. The only good thing was the location which is near to the beach. But I'd rather stay at another similarly priced location near the beach than this hotel.

There was a roach in our bathroom in the morning of checkout. I sent a photo to the customer service front desk number they initially texted me on and it was not addressed. Scary to know the situation wasn’t handled properly and that a German roach was out and about in broad day light. They only do that when an infestation is bad.

Very Bad Mildew smell in room, stained popcorn ceiling that kept dropping dust on everything. Only one working elevator for 7 floors…so long wait. Our room was near a laundry shoot, so the housekeepers were SCREAMING “HEADS UP” starting around 7am. Old scratched up furniture—needs an update.

I had a great experience this past weekend , I was able to check in earlier than 4 , which was a plus as I am 35 weeks pregnant and was feeling tired . We also noticed that our AC unit was not working in the room , we expressed the concerns to the front desk and someone came to look at it within 15 minutes. The maintenance guy replaced the whole unit very quickly and then came and checked on us again to make sure it was still working ( which it was !!) Great Beach access and deck area for relaxing . Breakfast was buffet style but simple ( eggs , bacon, fruit , cereal, muffins , bread , waffles, juice ) I would definitely stay here again, it was a good experience.

Hotel was great, clean, nice staff. The ocean view was beautiful, the beach was beautiful and the beach access was easy.The only downside was the size of the beds they were full size, which is very small for two adults to sleep on together.

We went to get away for our 50th wedding anniversary and found everything to be nice except the mattresses. They were very uncomfortable. Had a very big dip in the middle both of the beds. I had to sleep sideways for my back to not hurt. I would stay again but make sure we had a different bed.

I had a perfect view of the ocean. I never turned on the A/C, the heater did work. A light bulb was out in one of the lamps, after i asked the front desk about it, someone from maintenance was up in minutes.

Overall, I was pleased with my room and the stuff. The only thing I have to say was one of the beds and the room was pretty old and if you try to lay in the middle, you kind of felt yourself sliding towards the edge other than that great price great views my room was clean and the staff was very friendly

I booked an oceanfront room with balcony. Upon arrival- I was given a room that looked out to the Taco Bell. The Manager said for an additional $600 dollars she would move me to that room. The view of the KFC and Taco Bell was not what I paid for. The manager- Jennifer then said it was my responsibility to call the hotel directly after booking to make sure. Never again!!!! Horrible stay for my family.

We’ll start with the good- it’s in a great location with easy beach access. That being said, hotel condition and cleanliness left a fair bit to be desired. Only one working elevator the five days we were there, lots of dingy carpet, broken trim pieces by doors, water issues that have been painted over, etc. There were staff who were super helpful and kind (breakfast guy especially), but we also had extremely unhelpful and even snarky front desk staff who had confirmed on the phone that we had requested adjoining rooms for our family. I was told that rooms with those requests get assigned first, so they were confident they would be able to deal with the request even though it wasn’t guaranteed. Fast forward to our arrival, and they had given the adjoining room away already (even though we arrived just before check in time), and said we were stuck with whatever was left. That was pretty disappointing, but the cherry on top was the shoulder shrug, half smile that reeked of snarkiness as it was said “Oh well, what are you going to do? It’s not guaranteed…”. Moving past that, other thoughts- A/C worked great in one room, but minimally in another. Breakfast was OK, and kept well stocked. Biggest other concern was the folks smoking on their balconies near the pool, and not always cigarettes… So in the end, we had our beach trip. It was fun, but the hotel didn’t really add to our enjoyment basically at all. We were hoping for better than that based on prior reviews. Disappointing

That was pretty disappointing, but the cherry on top was the shoulder shrug, half smile that reeked of snarkiness as it was said “Oh well, what are you going to do? It’s not guaranteed…”. Moving past that, other thoughts- A/C worked great in one room, but minimally in another. Breakfast was OK, and kept well stocked. Biggest other concern was the folks smoking on their balconies near the pool, and not always cigarettes… So in the end, we had our beach trip. It was fun, but the hotel didn’t really add to our enjoyment basically at all. We were hoping for better than that based on prior reviews. Disappointing

The front desk staff are amazing ladies. Everyone we met who worked there were very nice. The hotel was clean, our room was great and breakfast was good. We will stay here when we come back.

We loved the time spent there. However when checkout came they said we had not paid the pet fee. My neighbor with me paid $266.90 and I told her I had paid that fee when we checked in on 5/11/25. I was given no invoice on 5/11/25 so I had no backup. When I got home I checked my checking account and there was a charge of $342.68 drawn on my account. The manager Jennifer was very rude when I explained this to her. She said there was no record of my payment, but then she said she had released the amount to go back to my account. This has been most unpleasant and after a great vacation it ends with a sour note. She said the employee who checked us in was no longer there.

It's an older property but the rooms have been updated. The hotel was built on a diagonal on the beach so the views are amazing. Loved the hit breakfast. The beach is steps away and its beautiful. Saw lots of dolphins and surfers at sunrise. I will definitely be back !

We enjoyed our two night stay. The location is excellent. Even our standard room had a view of the ocean. There was an issue with our tub drain that was fixed immediately. Breakfast was good. It’s definitely a hotel that hasn’t been updated in a while, so if you are looking for luxury and perfection, it’s not for you, but we found it to be exactly what we wanted. The elevator is the only complaint I have! It’s very slow and only one of two was working.

Super convenient for our fishing trip however the property has fallen on some rough times. I’ve stayed there maybe 6-7 times in past 20 years and feel now maintenance has been deferred for far too long. The door looked as though it had been opened with a crowbar, light switch in bathroom threw sparks, shower control fixture falling off wall, drains slow draining, rust. Pool needs serious professional maintenance help. Reinvest in your property or it will be gone before you know. Breakfast was mostly inedible. Owners and managers, you folks know you are serving up a substandard product as a hotel. Line level employees were fine, trying hard to deal with conditions. I’ll look elsewhere close by when I come back next month. My advice—avoid this hotel for now. Better options abound. I hope ownership will take this review as a call to action.

I drank some orange juice that was very sour on Wednesday the 15th of july and 5 hours later i was so sick i thought i was gonna end up in the hospital because the stomach pain and vomit would not stop until i through up the orange juice.My wife and I had to cancel our tour,not to mention the carts to take up to the room were horrible,the toilet was stopped up ,and the phone didnt work ,my wif got stuck in the elevator cause it closed so fast and that was a bad experience, the first 15 minutes we were there my bp rose 40 points lol.but the staff was very nice.would not ever stay there again.

Let me 1st say that the staff was as friendly as can be and breath life into the stereotype of southern hospitality!!!!! A1 grade A staffing! The complimentary lemon water at the front desk is delicious I have never had better!!! Secondly you will not get a better view of the beach! Sunrises are epic at this location! Thirdly the free breakfast was pretty good! Hot bacon and sausage, Belgian waffle maker, yogurt, toast options and fruit! Now for the bad! This building is old and old buildings need repair and updating. Only one elevator was working. There were bugs in our room! From the moment we walked in there was an infestation of flys in the room. I asked for fly paper at the front desk and I was offered a fly swatter. I went to the store and bought fly spray. I killed atleast 20 flys in the room. There was still atleast 1 still flying around the room when we checked out 2 days later. Saw one roach the 1st night but no more after. The bathroom was a bit dingy and the shower curtain pole was not installed correctly so the curtain couldn't stay closed it would sag to the middle of the pole on both sides when trying to shower. So I would say that if you just want a relatively inexpensive place to stay in Nagshead with friendly staff, a good free breakfast, and an awesome view get a waterfront room here and dont expect more than that. If you are looking for a 4 to 5 star lodging experience stay elsewhere!

This was a great value. Property was clean, beds were great, and the staff was very friendly, especially the employee responsible for working the breakfast area. She was incredibly friendly and made our stay very enjoyable. Nice place; nice people. I highly recommend.

Breakfast is not great, went out instead. Room clean enough found big long hair in bed and bathroom sink didn't drain well. Only stayed for 2 nights so just dealt with it. Hallways super hot waiting for elevator.

While it is an older building, the staff and amenities more than made up for that. The staff was so friendly, kind, and helpful. The breakfast was delicious and well-stocked. Being able to walk right out to the beach was so nice! Highly recommend and will stay here again.

Stayed there for a short family vacation and it was perfect for us. The room was clean, staff was helpful, breakfast was small but we enjoyed it. The oceanfront room gave an amazing view. The hotel cat was very friendly and my kids loved that the hotel had a cat.

This was the worst hotel experience I have ever had. We paid so much for an ocean front view. They happily took our money and never mentioned the work being done in front of our window for 24 hours (pictured). 24 hour noise. Flood lights into our room all night (pictured). We paid full price. When we asked for late checkout (because we barely slept), they said yes and I negotiated just 30 min more. Even though we had late checkout out the staff knocked on the door every 15 minutes. They even tried to bring a heavy to intimidate us…for just 30 minutes of time. We left at noon and within an hour or so they tried to charge my card and ADDITIONAL $1700. We stayed only one night and they tried to defraud us. I called them to find out why and some absolute horrible person said we broke a window. Absolutely not. They threatened us, and I offered to come back with the police to settle it and they declined. They are vindictive and angry people and tried to steal even more money after I complained to hotelsdotcom. The place is in a state of decay (pictured)and the staff…all of them…were horrid. This place is a miserable relic falling apart and priced like they just opened up. I will never stay with this chain again. Ever.
