The Days Inn Shallotte needs a lot of work. The property is very dated, the amenities are not great (“fitness” room has a treadmill and an elliptical machine), the free breakfast is dire and the service was spotty at best.

Staff were very friendly and accommodating. The building is showing its age. It needs a facelift. Breakfast is very basic. In fact, even though breakfast was to last until 9:30, there was nothing left by 8:40 my second morning there. The hotel has two floors, but no elevator.

This property was clean and convenient to the beaches.The pool was great.There was not much noise after 11pm so we sleep well.The staff was very nice.The breakfast was so so but it was free so no complaints there.The only negative was the shower was luke warm.overall a nice place for 110 a night in the summer!

Due to an unforeseen water situation at home, we were forced to stay in a hotel for the night. Upon entering the front door, the smell of cigarette smoke, wet dog, and weed should have been our indicator to cancel the reservation. The young man at the front desk was friendly. This property does not have an elevator, which made taking luggage upstairs difficult. The room also smelled of smoke. There were dips in the flooring, bugs under items that were not moved during cleaning, and a shower curtain with mold on it.

We chose this property because it was pet friendly. The checkin process was easy. The room itself was poorly cleaned. Mirrors had handprints on them, sofa soiled with stains, bedskirt soiled with stains, fridge and microwave had food spillage. The TV did not work. When we arrived there were an extraordinary amount of dried boogers stuck to the walls. The bathrooms were dirty and pasta sauce or blood was on the wall. Cockroaches were through the lobby and common areas. The washers and dryers were broken and needed to be serviced. All of the metal was rusted. Paint on the walls was missing where a lot of dents that needed to be repaired. The light plate covers were filthy. The exhaust fan in the bathrooms were covered with mold and dust. We had to buy clorox wipes and clean the walls and the room. It was disgusting and filthy! The orange juice machine pumped out rancid juice and was unedible. Find another place to stay. I do not recommend this location.

Absolutely disgusting conditions, DO NOT BOOK HERE!! First room- bed full of dog hair and a dirty, used fork on the floor.. asked for a different room. Second room- pull out bed covered in mold.. asked for a new room Third room- roaches found on the walls The WORST PART is that they could “refund” me but it would take 7-10 business days for my money to show back in my account so in order to go to another hotel, I would have had to pay out of pocket. Recommend NOT booking through hotels.com and booking directly through the hotel. Apparently I had limited options because I booked through a “3rd party”.

We wanted to find a property between our destination and found this, and it looks decent online, but it was a rundown, dirty and the hallways were musty and smelled of marijuana and cigarette smoke. We were in a room 202 and the beds were the squeakiest, most uncomfortable beds I have ever slept in my entire life. Every time we moved a little bit they squeaked like crazy and it reminded me of sleeping on a pullout couch bed. If it wasn’t late after the concert we went to, I would’ve requested our money back and just drove the 45 minutes home.

Hotel room was rundown. Fridge thermometer dial was broken off and the fridge didn’t get cold enough. Baseboard was coming away from the wall in bathroom and flooring needs to be redone. Shower wall had a crack and faucet and drain needs to be replaced. Toilet seat needs to be replaced as well as the coating was bubbled in places. Door to bathroom looks like it had a mirror previously because they painted over the glue that use to hold it in place. Tv was old and didn’t have many channels that worked. There was always someone outside drinking out in the open, morning 9am and night. I will say this is the second time I’ve stayed here and the room we had previously was a little better. After this stay we will not be staying here again. Breakfast wasn’t anything special but it did the job.

Had to use two remotes to run tv, one for volume and one for channels and guide. Room 201 door is super loose, you had to lift the door to close the door. Staircase next to room smelled of pee. Metal frame under bed popped loud when you sat on bed. I reserved room online and opted to pay when we arrived. The host would not allow senior discount because we reserved online. We had not paid yet. No forks or jelly, baby bowls for cereal for breakfast. The breakfast hostess was ill-mannered when asked if they had forks.

It’s a reasonably priced overnight stay, but it’s dated. It’s a lil beat up. Stains on couch, broken tv remote, poor tv, in general, just a bit run down. But it was pretty reasonably priced, and I was just there overnight.

I chose this location because it was pet friendly. The quality of the place was questionable. The steps buckled in places when you stepped on them as well as the floors in the room. It was nice to have breakfast included.

Room was ready at check-in time. (4:00pm). Was told that they don't guarantee 4:00 check-in and they would call when room was ready. They never called. So we came back at 8 and they couldn't find our paperwork where I had checked in at 4 and paid. Finally found it and we got a room. Next morning around 7:00, I go down to lobby to see what all was out for breakfast. Orange and Apple juice dispenser are empty and milk jug is hot. Scrambled eggs are gone, hash browns gone, sausage is almost gone. Waffle maker is on, but no syrup. I asked the lady at desk if more breakfast would be coming out and she replied "it ain't my problem" So, left and went to McDonald's to feed the family. Won't be back to this hotel. Staff does not care about you or your stay.

Staff was rude and unhelpful. Cleaning staff pounded on our door at 9:15am with the "do not disturb" signage up. Demanded we leave... Checkout wasn't until 11am.. (considering how poorly the room was cleaned when we arrived... I'm not sure why they were in such a hurry...) When I approached the front desk with my concerns I got a shrug and "They do that sometimes... We'll have another talk with them." The breakfast was gross and the drink machine didn't work. I don't expect Michelin star food... But at least something not stale. Overall not very happy with the stay. The back door was broken and left unlocked... It wasn't worth what we paid to stay.

The desk attendant during the evening of July 4th was condescending and unprofessional, to put it nicely. We booked 2 rooms. The second room we were given keys to already had guests in the room. At breakfast, there were no plates, only small bowls. Staff was comfortable with telling us that the truck was arriving later that day, but made no effort to find an immediate solution. Absolutely terrible experience.

I stay here 1 week ago. I booked my trip through hotels.com and paid in advance. When o got to the hotel they charged me again so I paid twice for the room. I contacted the front desk and the receptionist told me she would refund my money. That never happened. I called several times to be told there is no manager there at this time. I left my number and no one has called me after 1 week I still have not received my money back.

The breakfast was great and we really enjoyed the pool in the evenings. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our only concern was with a musky smell in our room which they attempted to eliminate. Overall, our best option for the price.

The hotel is in close proximity to the highway and there was a lot of noise from the traffic. Also, the room was located next to the stairs and exit which you could hear people coming in and out of the hotel and running upstairs. The couch in the room looks old and the bed was sitting on a frame that made a lot of noise. The water in the shower was more on the cold side. Finally, the toilet had a piece of would under it to keep it level.

This was a last minute trip. We had never stayed here before. Check in was easy. Staff were friendly. Room accommodations were clean and comfortable. The only thing that we can really say that needed attention was the stairs needed vacuuming. Overall good place to stay. Would stay here again. Convenient to 3 beaches.

We had a great time! Driving distance to the beach. All staff were respectful and helpful. The rooms were being worked on but we did not mind that. It was very clean and the maids went out of their way to help us with whatever we needed. Breakfast was the same everyday. We enjoyed it a few times during our stay. The pool looked very clean and inviting. We didnt use it as we spent the day at the beach. Great bargain on pricing!!! Thank you to everyone there. We will be coming back!!

You could smell the clean as you walked into the room. In the morning when we tried to shower there was no Hot Water at all. I imagine its because other guest had utilized it all before we went for our showers. The breakfast was very basic. White toast, waffles sausage folded eggs. The OJ tasted like the machine has not been cleaned properly. No jelly or anything for bread just butter. We ended up just eating a snack to hold us over until a proper meal.

Was ok for a budget one night stay. The tv did not work and the staff seems unconcerned when we brought it to their attention. We were able to fix on our own though. The “free breakfast” was less than appetizing. Dirty breakfast area, no plates were available, oj and apple juice were only water. Probably won’t stay again, even for the low cost.

The Days Inn Shallotte needs a lot of work. The property is very dated, the amenities are not great (“fitness” room has a treadmill and an elliptical machine), the free breakfast is dire and the service was spotty at best.

This property was clean and convenient to the beaches.The pool was great.There was not much noise after 11pm so we sleep well.The staff was very nice.The breakfast was so so but it was free so no complaints there.The only negative was the shower was luke warm.overall a nice place for 110 a night in the summer!

In general, it was a good option for 2 nights stay. I would only ask to stick with the time of breakfast. The schedule was supposed to be from 6:30 to 9:30am and on July, 4th breakfast was not provided after 8:30am. According to front desk, the people in charge of breakfast left earlier.

My room was nice and clean. The breakfast was terrible. Egg patty or whatever it was was uneatable The sausage was old and greasy. The only think I could eat was the waffles. That mach was working.

It was dirty in the bathroom and the window didn't even shut all the way so you could hear all the traffic and the rain ... The headboard came off the wall at 2:30 am .. They gave us 1 towel to dry with.

This is the second time we’ve stayed at this hotel. The first time it was well enough that we came back. Melody at the front desk is fantastic. Requested a first floor room at time of booking due to recovering from a broken ankle. Melody wasn’t working when we checked in. The lady that checked us in gave us a second floor room and didn’t offer to switch us to a different size room. She didn’t get my signature, initials, car tag number nothing. She got a copy of my drivers license nothing more. Didn’t tell us pool hours, breakfast hours, checkout time or WiFi password. There are no elevators in this hotel. The room did not have an evacuation plan in case of fire or other emergency. I really don’t know how the hotel passed code inspections. When we got to the room the bathroom light would not work. We couldn’t call the front desk because the phone didn’t work. My husband went downstairs and told the lady at the desk. She said “I’ll try to get him up there to look at it tomorrow”. We used the bathroom by flashlight the entire weekend. Friday-Sunday Ice machine on second floor didn’t work. Halls smelled like marijuana. Breakfast was subpar. Juice machine only worked if you pressed the button multiple times. The lady that prepared the breakfast, cleaned etc was rude. Left a message for the manager when we checked out but it’s been 4 days and have not received a phone call.

The first room they gave me had wet, dirty towels on the bathroom floor and the ceiling valves were missing. The second room they gave me the refrigerator made so much noise. I had to unplug it. I could sleep with the noise and a lot of loud noise coming from the front desk at 11 o’clock at night.
